I met Sophia Loren in person it was in the 1980’s and I was a teenager. I can honestly say that none of the pictures do her justice, in person she is ‘breathtakingly beautiful’ and I don’t say that lightly. If she walked into any department store the entire store would come to a standstill as everyone would want to catch a glimpse of her, stunning stunning woman!
I also heard from some of the crew that Cary Grant could not stop drooling over her when they weren’t filming.
I’m sorry to hear what she had to go through in regards to the fake porn photos for a woman with such integrity it would have been embarrassing for her in front of her 2 sons and grand children.

Sophia Loren was born illegitimate which was a HUGE disgrace in her day. Her father was an on again off again lover of her mother's and refused to acknowledge Sophia as his child and would not give her his name. it was a huge humiliation for Sophia's childhood. He did the same thing for the second child. Her father would disappear for months/years and then show up again like nothing happened and stupidly, her mother would take him back. Sophia's mother/family fought him legally - it was a big deal - to recognize Sophia as his child and eventually won. But again, he refused paternity for the second child and when sophia was an adult and wealthy enough, she paid her father to acknowledge paternity of her sister. Her father was a major jerk and loser.

The solid head was Carlo Ponti not Sophia Loren's. If it wasn't for him the Italian director and film maker she married at a very tender young age she would have ended up like her mother, used and abused by men, with illegitimate children of her own as well. Ponti gave Sophia her stardom and her life. She is very fortunate he did the right thing by her because she was sleeping with him well before they were married. Ponti already had a wife and children. Hmm seems that didn't bother Sophia. Ponti could have had his jollies with her and cast her aside, but he didn't, she got lucky.

Carey Grant's wife, Betsy Drake, wrote Houseboat and was supposed to be the lead actress; when Grant's affair with Sophia, he had his wife fired and had Houseboat rewritten for Sophia. Then when it came time to film the movie Sophia had already broken up with Carey, and he was divorced, thinking that Sophia would marry him. He was bitter and angry with her on the set. The same thing happened with Peter Sellers. Not only did they have to film a movie together, but they also had to record the song for the movie together, and he was also bitter and angry and divorced his wife for her. Not trashing S. L., I also believe she led many of these A-listers. They were wrong for cheating on their spouses, and she was terrible for letting them think they had a chance with her. Knowing that her heart always belonged to Carlos. My favorite movie is TWO WOMEN. If you have never seen it, I think you should. Her acting is just powerful. I loved all her Italian movies, and Houseboat is still my favorite American movie. I also had the privilege of meeting her and Carlos when I was a teenager.

Neither do I feel sorry for Grant I thought he was in the closet anyway so she'd be getting the same man eventually.😢

Sophia Loren didn’t fall into the traps and pits that a lot of women fell into who wanted to become successful, in Hollywood in that she held firm to her own morals, standards, and ethics, and would not be swayed. She had her values figured out, and they were in the right places. And for that, she is rewarded with children and grandchildren and a lot of love around her instead of loneliness and alcoholism. Since you have given us this beautiful story on Sofia, Loren, I suggest now you move to France and feature their icon of the film pantheon who is Catherine Deneuve. Her and Sophia are regarded as the most beautiful woman in the world at the time, not many people in United States know of her, but she is very famous, and she did do some American movies, as well as being a spokes person, and model for cosmetics etc.

Catherine has along with other wealthy women come to the defense of rapists politicians and entertainment employees saying " boys will be boys" she is a big big star who can file a lawsuit if a movie director raped her or blocks her chance of getting a movie role if she doesn't accommodate his sexual desires. Most actresses, secretaries, waitresses, etc have faced consequences, losing jobs and slandered. One French politician arrested and handcuffed in USA for sexually assaulting a hotel maid was slandered and Michael Jacksons lawyer attacked the maid and told the press she's Moslem. Please tell me why we need to know a maids religion? Why didn't they tell us the rapists religion too( he's Jewish but an atheist) lawyer released maids Moslem religion so well hate her and turn against her. These are the type of men Catherine daneuve defends. A French journalist and her daughter came forward to say they were raped by the same politician. Ms daneuve went after them too. Hey guy, watch her movies, photos, she's as white as any northern European and she was PURPOSELY tanned or used make up for a few parts where she played foreigners. Where, when did she "acknowledge it?"And that stereotype Italians are olive skinned applies to a small minority, dark skinned are even fewer, less than 1%. The overwhelming majority are light and WHITE. @@user-li1gp2jw8k

I love Sophia Loren's reaction to people urging her to change her face. She was a confident woman and I also feel like i share some of facial similarities (wide mouth, long nose). I also am not afraid to have body hair lol. I wish I could be more positive like her and love life. I think the media was lucky to have her in the spotlight.

My father told me that, back in the day, the only women who shaved their body hair were prostitutes. He's 80 years old. This was in the Hispanic culture, and I have a feeling it was the same for women from other cultures as well. That may be a reason she didn't shave...anyone else know about that?

I am such a fan of Sophia Loren and was so happy when she was able to have children by the love of her life. Those 2 were destined to be together. Her movies,Marriage Italian Style,Houseboat,so many I enjoyed, but it was the movie "Two Women" where she nailed it. A movie that definitely need to be viewed. So glad you are bringing back old Hollywood and keeping it real.

Another wonderful video. Love Sophia Loren. Although she was known for her glamour, exotic beauty, and sex appeal, it's her Academy Award winning performance in "Two Women" that blows me away. Read that Anna Magnani was almost cast. Sophia wanted to prove herself as a serious dramatic actress and got the part. I respect that she remained true to her Italian roots. Never went Hollywood. And finally had the 2 children she wanted after years of miscarriages. A true icon. Thanks, Karine, for this loving portrait of the one and only Sophia Loren. P.S. Will you do a video on Natalie Wood? Love her!

I loved Sophia Loren, she was a beautiful and also very intelligent in her roles and acting ability, she always seemed to be self assured not especially conceited as other less beautiful and talented actresses like JLo tended to be for example as JLo is one of the narcs in Hollywood.
