Rarely hear complaints due to the GR86 having a subaru boxer engine? For real? People complain all the time idk how you can say that. It has typical subaru reliability issues that lead to engine failure, most notably lack of oil pressure in turns/spins. Want to do a donut or take a turn really aggressively at a track? Say bye bye to your engine. Toyota will decline warranty even though they track and rag on the car in advertisement videos... That car would have been miles better and more reliable with their boosted 3 cyl. Otherwise good video. Personally love the new supra, wasn't a fan at first but it grew on me.
I have a ‘21 with low mileage, as it is a fair weather toy. Love the car and got a really good deal at time of purchase (new). I think about selling it sometimes but don’t know what I would replace it with.
BMW unreliability issues stem from two sources; a couple of very poorly made but well known engines in the 2000's, and the fact that a lot of BMW owners have no idea how to maintain a car and thus used BMW's are very often full of problems due to bad ownership. There are people running 600+ horsepower on the B58 with upgraded turbos as a daily driver and never having any problems with reliability. This car is Toyota's big non-Lexus halo sports car, they weren't going to put something unreliable or incapable in it, and even went through it and made their own adjustments to ensure it'll be bulletproof.

I'm sure there's some good Supras out there, but I don't trust BMW. There's no dipstick on the car, just a 0-1 output oil sensor that deceptively shows you a green bar filled to max that will ALWAYS DISPLAY MAX until it's 1 quart low then it immediately goes to the bottom of said bar add 1 quart ASAP.
