I got a new monitor. I don't want the sound from my video card, and I don't want the monitor speakers, so I disabled it. I have my own audio interface. Still was getting this problem. Hours of searching gave me solutions like "Turn up your volume" and "Make sure everything's plugged in." Not sure why I had to dig so much to find your video. Thank you, I got all my chipmunks now!

Works great fixed the internal laptop audio Realtek issue immediately, didn't need a reboot, I sent this video to Windows feedback hub as a bug issue, hopefully windows fixes it. Sad to see that the issue is still carried over on Windows 11, but good news is that the fix seems to work on all versions of windows.

I also heard removing NVIDIA'S audio driver and just using the ones that come with windows might also solve the issue. Especially because most audio devices are made to support Realtek's Audio Driver over NVIDIA'S Audio Drivers, even though NVIDIA'S Audio Drivers can sound slightly better.
my audio device is on 0000, called the "usb audio device" because i use just razer usb sound card as my audio device. but when i expand 0000 i dont get "power settings" or anything like that, its just one that says "drivers". i may have it wrong though? it might not be usb audio device, but the other options dont really match as good. on 0001 there is realtek audio, could that be it instead?

Anyone knows how to keep the registry value from resetting to default after reboot? I did the same steps and reboot, but then the value all becomes "00 00 00 00".
i thinks its rather a problem with my monitor. so i have my monitor connected to the laptop via HDMI cable and i only use the monitor (because its bigger and i dont really nedd two). when i plug my headset into the laptop it works perfectly fine, but when i plug my headset into the monitor, it has that 3 sceond delay every time i play a sound after 5 seconds or so not playing any audio...

This worked for my AMD HP. My EliteBook has this issue but not my ProBook. Even though I changed the 00 03 00 to FF 00 FF, it changed a few days later to 03 05 03. Realtek for me was found in the 0001 folder. I don't know if this has to do with the Pro 6850U vs 5825U, being 28W vs 15W, so maybe one is coded for this audio delay as part of energy savings.

I have fixed the problem by updating all my drivers with iObit Driver Booster. They have a 14 day trial and does update everything free for 14 days. But then you don't need it anymore until later when there are new drivers. Could be years on Win 7 because its out of support.
I have a similar problem on my Win8.1 notebook... however it takes 1 second to start the audio. I have custom notifications, and most of them I don't even hear because of this. The regedit method didn't change anything for me.
So I tried this on the one system I have that has this issue. With no imporvement, I did restart and have confirmed the settings have stuck. 11400f, B560 Asus board, onboard HDMI audio.
I will try this when im home. Hope this will work. In usin realtek audio driver. Mine is stuttering especially video conferencing and very frustrating. Untill now i dont fix it the issue, i tried everything what ever tutorial i found here in youtube but nothing happen. I dont want to reset my laptop.

best video should be able to help you but you're going to have to figure out which of the zero to 10 audio devices is your device. also, check if your Bluetooth devices have a power management spot for the device, and if it does turn it off. most likely the last thing I said is what's causing it. go into "device manager", look under all your devices, and see the device that is producing the audio, right-click on it. click properties and then within that window go to power management and turn off power management

i had this issue, turns out the problem was my fosi audio BT30D amp. when i changed the amp all the problems went away
