- 2023 Ford F 150 driver and passenger side two way radio antenna bracket installation through the firewall with SWR reading. Couple of small tips that we ran in to during the installation that's mentioned in the video.

Without that mount bracket being grounded to the body you'll have little if any ground plane and your SWR as shown was higher than it could be. If you're concerned about corrosion from dissimilar metals then use dielectric grease between the surfaces. Also where the RG-8 cable mounts to the N-mount you should seal it off front moisture or it won't last a year. I would also install a plastic wire protector sheath on the RG-8 going through the hood as there are very sharp areas in the hood sheet metal where you ran it. I hope this helps.

Great video, guys. I'm going to be putting a GMRS mobile in my 2021 F150, but I want to test it before a permanent installation. Have you tried running the antenna wire through one of the doors? Do you know if it will pinch the wire too much?
