- This Jeep Gladiator Antenna Mount is designed to be installed on either side of the truck bed, just behind the rear window using existing holes and work with a factory tonneau cover. The mount is made out of unfinished, laser cut and bent, 3/16" thick stainless steel and it comes complete with stainless steel hardware for optimum performance and corrosion resistance. In this video, you'll get to see just how super easy it is to install and how it can be done in just minutes using basic tools. While the mount is intended for use with a CB antenna, an optional NMO adapter can be purchased separately to allow for the use of GMRS and race radio antennas. As an added bonus, the mount can also be used to install a small rear facing light or a flag.

They look like they will work perfectly with my tonneau cover, but give the option for mounting up some ditch lights and antennae' in such a clean way! Can't wait for you to have these back in stock will need to get a pair shipped up here to the Great White North.
Just got mine installed. It got here very quickly. This is a very smart and sturdy design. I did have to dremel away some of my slip in bed liner but that was no big deal. After crawling under the truck for a while, I went under the hard top with the coax too. I left a small loop so water couldn't follow it in...slim chance I know but still...
Glad you got yours safely and that you're happy with it! 👍
Nice job with this kit… looks good and an easy install! 👍
Thank you, glad you like it :)
These antennae mounts are the best I have bought for my gladiator I tried all other mounts but they didn’t work for my cb and my GRMS but thanks to Eddie I really appreciate your products you do have the best quality products I got from you
Really glad to hear that you're happy with your mount and the products that we make. Thank you.
Where can you buy the mount?
@@jeanettesantana4907 I bought it from wayalife from Eddie perfect Mount for my gladiator
You make every install looks clean and easy thanks for the video
Happy to hear you say as much and glad you enjoyed the video 😎
Oh yeah can't wait for you to have these back in stock will need to get a pair! They look like they will work perfectly with my tonneau cover, but give the option for mounting up some ditch lights and antennae' in such a clean way! Really clever! Hopefully shipping to Canada won't be too harsh. ;)
We should have more in stock by the end of the week :)
Looks like a great mount - Wish it had been out a year ago when I was looking for ways to mount my 2M/70CM antenna
I'm sorry I wasn't able to get it out sooner.
@@wayalife no need to be sorry, I’m glad it’s out now and it’s great to see you filling a need that a lot of Jeep owners need.
A very nice solution to a tricky problem. Nice job.
Thank you! Glad you like what you see 👍
That's exactly what I've been looking for to add a light pod back there
Awesome! Glad to hear this is something you could use 😎
@@wayalife already ordered lol
Very cool I just bought a Gladiator last month and I think a couple of those will work perfectly! Please say hi to Cindy for me…. 😊😊
Congratulations to you my friend! That is very cool 👍
I can’t wait to get a Jeep to have this Wayalife
Awesome! Hope you're able to get one sooner than later.
Totally awesome! I'm a Ham and planning to purchase a 2024 Gladiator when they become available. Going mobile! New sub here too!
Glad we could be of help with and hope you get your new Gladiator soon.
Very smart, i like the innovation
Thank you. Happy to hear you like what you see 😎
Thank you for this🙏👏 been waiting for a option like this.
Awesome! Glad we could provide you with a solution you've been looking for.
That is very cool. Good engineering work!
Glad you like it! 😎
Installed one on my JT, study design and simple install. Only issue was the NMO bracket was too thin for the Midland NMO antenna cable. Had to use washers. Looks great otherwise! I have my NMO bracket facing outward to the side vs. inward towards the bed center. Thanks for making this sweet kit! 🤙
Sorry to hear the NMO adapter was too thin for your Midland cable and appreciate you sharing that info with me. The adapter was designed around several different NMO antennas and all of which required it to be that thin to work properly.
For ages now, I've been saying how one day I plan to mount some reverse-facing LEDs for when people are blowing up my rearview with their high beams. This will work perfectly. 😈
LOL
great Idea and great product thanks
Glad you like it! 😎
Is there a video that shows how you routed the CB cable to get it up to your CB?
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
thats clean. great job!
Glad you like it! Thank you :)
I like. I need one like this for my 2022 GMC Canyon.
MAKE DEDICATED VIDEO ON CHASE LED LIGHT INSTALLATION 👍
Nice bracket. How did you get the coax from the between bed & cab into the cab? Is there an existing penetration or does it require drilling a hole?
Assuming you have an automatic, you can go through the plug on the firewall where the clutch would be. Or, you can run it down the a-pillar and into the engine bay. Or, you can run it between the hard top and body under the rear window. There is a seam that allows for the thickness of a cable and the foam will wrap around it.
Man I wish this was an option for a 21 Tundra...
Sorry. If I had a Tundra, I would probably make one for it LOL
I love your kit, I just received it yesterday, but I have a suggestion. I have a bedliner in my 2020 Gladiator, and yes I knew going in that I would have to drill out the bottom hole because it's a 2020, but with the bedliner, it presented a couple of problems. First, I had to drill out the top and bottom holes with a 3/8'' drill bit, just to get through both the bedliner and the holes in the bed. Second, the bedliner is somewhere between 1/8'' and 1/4'' thick, it seems, and with the washer and lockwasher on the bolts, I couldn't get it to thread into the mount at all. I had to leave the lockwasher off. If you made a bit longer bolt, it would help people with this issue. My spray-in bedliner was done at the dealership, I'm guessing, it is something Mopar did before I took delivery of the truck, so it's not some kind of off-brand thing. Again, I love the mount and I think it's going to work great.
I appreciate the feedback and glad you still like the mount.
Great vid....nice ingenuity. Got something for a 2015 F150 for a ham antenna?
I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't have anything for an F150
Could you show the path where the antenna cable passed into the cabin?
Great kit...simple and quick to install.
Glad you like what you see 😎
I was excited to see this, then at the end you mentioned the 2020s have a nutsert that prevent this install without drilling. I was happy to see that at least in my case, my 2020 does not have the nutsert, so I'm good to go. Mine was delivered around September 2020 so maybe they deleted them mid year? Mine also has the bedliner so that could be the reason? Anyway...wanted to let you know.
Hey, that's great to hear! Jeep must have made the change later in the year.
what trim package JT ? Do you have the rail system ? I have JT-R launch edition which has the full rail system which I use for molle panels ! still going to purchase the kit and make it work one way or another ;)
@@DeanJohnson67 I have the Sport S max tow package no trail rail system.
I have a 2021 and it has the nut. Pondering that it may accompany the factory tonneau cover as that is where the cover is bolted. I think there's enough room to put the bracket next to it, adding two holes. I will study more.
Just a follow up: I added two holes to the bed just to the inside of the Tonneau cover mount and it worked fine.
Great video, I have a question. Do you think is posible to make a bracket like that one to the roof level for a NISSAN FRONTEIR 2024 ?
Sorry, I don't own a Frontier and wouldn't be able to know.
Dilemma, use my ATAS 120 on the bed wall mount or tonneau cover? Well, problem solved. I can have both. Thanks and best 73, NH2BV.
ordered this earlier 🍻
Awesome! Thank you and hope you like it 👍
How do you pass through the antenna cable inside?
To be honest, you can just run the cable between the hard top and body. There is a seam near the corner where it dips a bit and you route it there to help reduce pinching it. Or, you can run it through the firewall and back along the frame rails.
How did you get the coax cable from that mount inside the cab? Is there a hole or did you drill a hole?
I just ran it in between the hard top and body right where there's a seam at the quarter panel.
🍻
Thank you 😎
Nice product! I'm just curious can you offer a version for direct mounting of NMO antenna for a clean install?
NMO antennas require a thinner mount, a LOT thinner and it wouldn't hold up as a single piece at this location.
Any idea if you can mount the adapter plate using the CB antenna and run the nmo radio right next to it or will it screw up the signal.
So long as you're not running both radios at the same time, I would imagine it'd be okay but I don't know for sure. Sorry.
Can you make one for a GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax turbo diesel
Do offer these mounts for a dodge 1500 and dodge 3500, I have a dual band UHF and VHF Transceiver and an HF Transceiver for amateur radio
I am sorry but I do not.
You ran the coax under the hardtop?
I did. On the corner where there's a divot where the back of the cab meets the corner. Been using this setup for about 4 years now and without any issues.
How's the swr that close to the cab? Can you buy those mounts somewhere?
Oops..I see now how to purchase.
Glad to hear you found how to purchase the mount wayalife.com/store/proddetail.php?prod=PARTS-JT-ANTENNA-MOUNT
GMRS.. ect... so many different radio options.
I recommend running whatever your friends - the people you wheel with run.
@wayalife Do you have any pointers on running the antenna cable ? I cant go under the top like you did and i went with alittle higher quality cable. Thinking maybe passenger drain plug ?
You can run the cable through the plug on the firewall where the clutch would be. Otherwise, you can also run it down the windshield like I show in our CB BAR video.
If you’re mounting an antenna like this and need to get the wire into the cab there are drain plugs under the carpet in the back seat. Use those so you don’t need to run such a long cable.
@@jav_eee yup that is my plan i got a 14ft cable coming to do just that
@@wayalife ya i was avoiding a 25 foot run to go all the way to the driver side firewall then back to the passenger side where the radio is
If I were to run the antenna mount and secure it the adapter to it with a cb antenna could I run a HAM antenna to the adapter or will it cause interference?
Sorry, I'm not exactly sure I understand what you're asking but you should be able to use a HAM antenna with the NMO adapter I make.
My 2020 JT doesn’t have the pre threaded hole
If that's the case, you should be able to use this mount.
Anything like this for a 2021 F150? Thanks
Sorry, I don't own an F150 so I couldn't tell you.
Will it work with a LED whip light?
What I can tell you is that there are a lot of people who've purchased one just for that purpose.
Were do you order i don’t seem to find the right place
wayalife.com/store/proddetail.php?prod=PARTS-JT-ANTENNA-MOUNT
👍👍
does it need a ground strap to the frame, or are you using a no ground plane antenna?
I recommend using a no ground plane antenna but the bed does offer good enough ground.
@@wayalife thank you for your reply, your bracket is outstanding! I had rivnuts installed for something else so i drilled them out and got a very good ground to the frame. i used your nmo adapter and mounted a comet ca-2x4sr antenna.
@@mikemurphy43 Glad to hear it!
hi there will it fit 2011 Toyota tundra?
Sorry, I don't own a Tundra and do not know.
Will it work for the weboost antenna?
I haven't installed one so I couldn't say for sure but from what I've seen, I don't know why it wouldn't.
Where did you run the cable from the radio to the antenna?
You can run cable out of the cab through the rubber plug where the clutch would have been. Also, there is a seam where the corners and the back of the cab come together and there's enough of a dip to allow for a standard coax cable to be run through and without damaging it.
Have you made a mount for those with Gladiators and a camper shell?
Sorry, not sure how to make something like that work.
@@wayalife maybe a bracket behind the taillights?
Will this work in concert with the bed rail system?
Yes. The bed rails do not use these mounting holes.
Can you put a whip light on this bracket? Or a flag holder?
So long as either can be installed on a standard CB antenna mount, I see no reason why not.
Can someone send me a link or tell me about where to route the coax on my 2023 Gladiator? Also, I bought a 9’ long coax cable. Is that long enough for an antenna mounted on the bed next to the cab? I read somewhere that it should be 18’ long for optimal performance. I’m not sure why this would be.
I believe you had reached out to us by email and I have since sent you a response.
You did and I thank you. Routing my coax cable from the bed into the cab is where I'm stuck at the moment. I don't really want to pinch it under the hard top, so I'm looking for a good way to get it into the the cab from the bed.
I did just find a reply of yours here on RUclips that answers my question. Thanks again.
I have a hard folding cover on the back of my Gladiator, can this be used the the cover?
I am sorry but I don't know how your cover is installed on your Gladiator and have no way of knowing if it would work.
@@wayalife No problem, thanks for the reply. Once I get the Gladiator back from the body shop (it's been 3 weeks), I'll see if that might work.
Does this fit with a factory tonneau cover?
Yes.
Who uses CB anymore? 😂 Great option for a flag mount for Sand Hollow trips😉
LOL - me personally, I still like CB's a lot but nobody uses them anymore.
Would this work with off road whip lights
So long as the whip light mounts to a standard CB antenna mount, yes.
What size should be used to drill out the Nut-Cert on 2020 Models ?
Sorry, not 100% sure yet. I intend to do this on my 2020 JT but it's been snowing and stupid cold out so I haven't had a chance yet.
I used a 3/8'' drill bit on both holes because I have the bedliner as well, and it closed up the holes significantly. If you don't have the bedliner, you might be able to get away with the 5/16'' drill bit. I would start with that one, and if it doesn't open enough, go up to 3/8''.
What radio do you use?
For all the events we do with EVO/Nitto, we run an Icom race radio.
Do you CB or are you HAM???
I like CB but none of my friends run them anymore.
How will this work if I have the RSI Smart Cap installed?
Sorry, it won't.
@Wayalife no worries, looks like an awesome mount.
Is there a reason why I can’t login to your app?
I am sorry but we no longer have an app. Apple made it impossible for us to keep it. Google wasn't any better.
@@wayalife, sorry to hear that. Thank you for the quick response.
Why not just make a mount thats already for NMO.
Well, for one, not everyone needs an NMO mount. Two, the thickness of the mount that an NMO antenna needs is really thin. As in, making a dedicated mount for it in this design would make it very weak and prone to bending.
@@wayalife I see . That makes perfect sense.
Somewhat unrelated question, but how stiff is that spring for the firestik antenna? Does it sway a lot while driving?
In my experience it doesnt move at all. Its meant to serve as a break for rubbing tree limbs and things like that.
Stiff enough to accommodate a 2-3' antenna and not move too much. A LOT better without it but if the antenna were to catch a branch or something, it'll bend away and not break the mount. However, it will flop back and hit the cab. Seen this a lot on Wranglers. It's a give and take.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE A LIGHT TRUCK
@wayalife you should really remove the "light truck" portion from this video. It is misleading because this mounting bracket does not work with a light truck. The cable from the radio to the antenna doesn't fit between the bed and the bottom of the bracket.
@mylesbrinkley6305 You'll forgive me but it would have been nice if you could have tried reaching out to me by email to see if I might be able to assist you before coming on to my channel to blast me and tell others not to buy this mount. And, to be clear, the title is "Antenna and Light" truck bed mount made specifically for a Jeep Gladiator. NOT just any "light truck". Also, there are LOTS OF DIFFERENT antenna cables you can buy and as you can see in this video, the one I used and recommend DOES. Perhaps, all you need is to use a different cable.
@@wayalife this video title clearly states jeep gladiator AND light truck bed installation. You should do better rather than falsely advertising your product to generate views and sales. If you had, then I wouldn't be here blasting your terrible practices.
@mylesbrinkley6305 You truly are an idiot on a level I have not seen before. You own a GMC Denali HD and for you to suggest that is a "light truck", is just beyond stupid. And, for you to chose how you read a "video" title is somehow more important than what the title screen says, what is shown in the video and trumps what the product description states on our store, that it's “FOR USE ON A 2021-UP JEEP GLADIATOR ONLY", is completely asinine. Please, do us all a favor and tell everyone you can just how much of a moron you really are. 👍
