I live in New England and we have brutal frigid Winters, I remember complaining when I have to clean 5 in of snow off my car and drive 10 miles down the road. I'm grateful for this channel because it's such a humble reality check. This couple just had to drive 60 miles on snow machines and fell trees to get to their abandoned cabin for holiday. It really helped me put things in perspective.
I once went to Fairbanks, AK in April. It was 40ºF in the afternoon. I noticed several people out walking around in shorts and T-shirts. One thing that made it obvious who were the AK residents was the ghostly white complexions the have after spending the winter there.

I love how you share your life and your enthusiasm for Alaska and for each other. I think 6 hours on a snowmobile would kill me but you make it look fun.
I love that you made a delivery for your neighbors. Something I've noticed since watching all your videos is the strong sense of community in Alaska. You're always happy and willing to help each other out, even strangers. It's special because you don't find that everywhere.
Very strong community up here, I made a trip down to Chitina recently, long story short, lost all my important paperwork when my bag opened up on the boat. Made a post on facebook in the community page explaing what had happened and what I needed, and since I was losing service it was a last ditch effort. This Fellow Chris was nice enough help me since he was gonna be down to Chitina the next day. He went to Fish and Game and was able to get me copies of the paperwork that was needed and when he got down to Chitina the next day, he was able to find my camp on the river and give it to me. Luckily Fish and Game understood and was able to let him help me out or else it wouldve been a trip wasted. I've seen the question come up in the comments a few times over the years.... 'How do you keep your house warm while out?' So what about the chickens? Are there heated water bowls, or do you have timers on heat lamps in the coop?
Aloha, love the stove. All I ever use to camp besides fire. If you get the dual fuel lantern, you’ll only need one fuel source vs the three you use now. Buy some extra mantles, a spare plunger (works on both), and you can just leave everything there for the next trip. Much more efficient. My lantern has an eight hour burn time. Less waste (canisters), and the only thing you’ll need to haul is fuel.

My favorite episode watched twice especially when she tells Eric you need to go in and be studied! Awesome observation complete with his full denial of mensa-hood!
So sweet of y'all to bring the neighbors some goods! That was the way I was raised! They can keep an eye on your cabin and you can help them out! Y'all are so brave to travel that far in the cold like that! But it's worth it! Beautiful!
I feel like I am watching friends that live in Alaska that enjoy their life with their babies (dogs and cat). Your videos get better and better watching them. I look forward to seeing you go to the cabin and couldn't wait till it snowed again so you could use your snow machines to go on a small vacation to your second home. I grabbed my coffee and a snack just to sit in my comfy chair and sit and watch. Hugs from Maryland.
I enjoy watching journey like this, all the struggles and difficulties, but the most beautiful part is to see the relationship between a man and a woman, nothing else matters without that companionship, I sure hope to find my other half soon, I don’t want to die alone 😢

So just a suggestion. Install a pulley with a nylon rope on the outside of cabin or nearby tree, connect one end to the snow machine pulling downhill, with the other end attached to the sled going uphill. Let the machine do the work.

Beautiful!
Are they the ones who loaned you their boat?
I Love that you have gotten quite a few silicone zip lock bags ! Way to go Ariel and Erick !🌎🌱🌎🌱🌎🌱🌎🌱🌎🌱🌎🌱
You know you're Alaskan when you say 20 degrees is marvelous for traveling
Awesome video. Simple living ... the world needs more of this !!!
Good morning Arielle and Eric, keep safe always, from the warm Philippines.🇵🇭
Where theres a will and a willingness to work theres always a way! Thanks for taking us along on another trip to a place 99.9% of us will never see!
The dogs are wonderful too! I love these adventures you guys go on, fearless!
I know! It’s amazing how they conquer this lifestyle
I found it truly WONDERFUL how they are taking care of those dogs🙂
@@onababona6101 I would have given them warm food and a sled to ride in that was kept level. They are bouncing around in there for 60 miles straight.
@@milcotto4153 no it wasn’t for 60miles straight, it was a.Bump that couldn’t be seen in that snow! Chill out Nancy!
Peace and quiet is so underrated.
Yay so glad yall are sharing always love the photography
I feel like I am watching friends that live in Alaska that enjoy their life with their babies (dogs and cat). Your videos get better and better watching them. I look forward to seeing you go to the cabin and couldn't wait till it snowed again so you could use your snow machines to go on a small vacation to your second home. I grabbed my coffee and a snack just to sit in my comfy chair and sit and watch. Hugs from Maryland.
I love the cabin trips. You left me wanting more, more, more😊…l can’t wait for the next edition; you guys are incredible.
Playing the game...
Eric: I'll use logic and math.
Arielle: what are you a psychic?
I've watched this episode at least twice. Enjoy all their videos. Love how they work together so well.
I enjoy watching journey like this, all the struggles and difficulties, but the most beautiful part is to see the relationship between a man and a woman, nothing else matters without that companionship, I sure hope to find my other half soon, I don’t want to die alone 😢
Love your cabin trips.
It's summer in Tennessee right now so I'm watching videos about winter to trick myself into feeling cold. It hasn't worked yet, but I remain hopeful.
I could watch you guys cook stuff all day long..you two are so adventurous and inspiring..thank-you for sharing your outings with us!
So warm and meditatively, the very thing for long dark Petersburg evenings.
I sprayed my Vernors through my nose when Arielle said "We have to get you studied!" Too funny! Love coming along to your cabin trips, best luck fishing!
Love my Vernors. That musta' hurt though.
I think you should be known as the legends of camping
Thank you guys for taking time to share going out to y'all Cabin and can't wait to see y'all next video hopefully y'all are still at the Cabin 🥰🥰❄❄☃️☃️☃️
You guys are on an adventure of a lifetime and I'm so happy you decided to bring us along. Thank you!
My favorite couple !
I would love to spend a week at a cabin in the winter like that.
These are the best videos!!! I feel so much part of the adventure, I'm sure I will never ever be there, but somehow I'm there with you guys. Now, Arielle, please tell us more about Eric's psychic powers!!! that sounds awesome!!! Cheers from Argentina. Fede
Rolling with the punches like a rock star 🤩 plan b worked!
I love this channel and I am so happy to have found it. It has inspired me so much in so many different ways. The feeling I get when I tackle a project on my own and get it done would have not been possible without you guys.
I love watching Beau & Bandit eat & drink!! Other animals too!!
So just a suggestion. Install a pulley with a nylon rope on the outside of cabin or nearby tree, connect one end to the snow machine pulling downhill, with the other end attached to the sled going uphill. Let the machine do the work.
Sounds like a great way to dump your stuff all over the place.
@@BG-bx4ey Haha!
An American living in Philippines .......... living vicariously through you two that is..............
Thank you both for taking the time to show us your world, and what a beautiful world it is . Lots love from the uk 🇬🇧
I really enjoy this remote cabin you visit and the fun you have even just getting there. The cabin looks cozy and incredible views! And I really enjoy Beau and Bandit! And doing a beer run for the neighbors..... true Alaskans! 🍺
Thank you for sharing how you heat your home when you’re not there, I’ve wondered about how you kept your kitty warm while gone. I love all your adventures and look forward to seeing them. Thank you for sharing them with us.
@cndy Hill I'm also curious about the chickens.
