You’re a brave man. I’ve hiked alone in pitch black forests with only a headlamp to light the way. I’m always uneasy and hyperaware. However, I’ve never done so on a trail like Devil’s Throne, in the rain, in the fog, with strange noises all around. I consider myself pretty fearless. But perhaps I’m not. Great video Luke!

I don't subscribe to superstition but I have been seriously scared during a several trips. When I lived Idaho a good friend and I would go to Yellowstone NP each spring to canoe our way to Shoshone Lake to fish as soon as the ice melted. On each trip grizzly bears, just out of hibernation, came to our camp and take a big sniff at the wall of our big tent. Even though firearms were not allowed, we always took some for protection. The rangers knew. We couldn't even sleep in the same clothes we were wearing while fishing or cooking dinner. The bears would get into the canoe and lick the canoe where we had placed our fish. I always knew when a bear was close. All of the forest noises which I spent years learning to hear would stop. We could feel the impact on the ground when a bear was very close and I could smell a bear from a pretty good distance. In Northern Alberta I had bears and wolves come up to my tent nightly. Even though I was armed it was terrifying to be that close to some of the biggest bears(I would check their tracks in the morning) I have ever seen. In Africa we had lions in our camp a couple of times and a Black Mamba on one trip. We also had lighting hit and split a tree just feet from our tent and melt the side of my NorthFace VE24. The more I write the more stories I remember. I have been told many times I should write a book. Stay safe out there everyone.

Between my freshman and sophomore years of college, I was a survey aide for the US Forest Service. We felt eyes on us for days. Came around a curve to a mountain lion napping in the sun. It looked at us (5) and went back to napping. It was our stalker. We saw it walking parallel to us several more times before the job concluded.

in the Philippines, we also have a "devil's mountain" the trail is deadly with snakes and leeches, not to mention the thorny palms around the area.. when we tried exploring it, we learned it is also a guerilla zone or no mans' land to the military (hence they called it devil's mountain and not some folklore of evil spirits).. we were able to reach the summit but had to remove leeches attached to our bodies.. at night, during camp, we hear babies crying (it was actually a frog mimicking the sound of crying baby) it was quite an adventure..👍😎

Trekking poles or just a good walking stick really help you scout those leave covered pools. I learned this the hard way. I stepped off into an area where I was almost completely submerged. It was heavy rain and I was on a trail I had only been down once. The water, following the path of least resistance, made it look as if the trail took a small bend to the left. I found out quickly that it was a pool of water almost four feet deep. The fresh leaves of fall made it look like a solid surface. Great video! Thank you for sharing!

I’m in Scotland, the most haunted country in the world. There are places we don’t go here, places that our ancestors set aside for the devil; we call these places devil’s playgrounds. The idea is that if the devil plays there then he will be less likely to meddle in our affairs. But, when I was young, my brother and his friends went camping in the devil’s playground. They got drunk and fooled around, made a fire, etc., and nothing much happened on the night. Later, though, when they got home, all of them got a sickness that lasted for weeks. The doctors couldn’t explain it. My brother’s best friend never really recovered from the sickness and he said he was being haunted by an evil spirit that had followed him home from the devil’s playground. He was very serious about that. His mother said she saw a dark figure dancing around his bed when she visited him in hospital. That was years later when they amputated his leg. There are things that you shouldn’t fool around with in this world.

If I ever get the chance to come here, I’d definitely tag along with him. I’m sure the beings here already know him and his heart. But if your heart isn’t in the right place, don’t even bother coming, you’ll end up getting played for sure.

Usually when they start throwing little stones, you have one to three nights until they will really escalate things and probably get physical. Usually they just don't want you there and since your not hunting or fishing you probably ain't making them too angry. Merry Christmas Luke, peace be with you and your family.

I enjoy watching you because I know there won’t be a set up so that you can get views. You have always been truthful about the things that you face on your adventures All I want to say is thank you very much for keeping it real. Much ❤️.

Luke. I love watching your videos. But I don't like it when they're just day trips. Your overnight adventures are a lot more fun.
As far as the "eyes on you" feeling: Pay attention to your instincts. If you feel like someone (or something) is watching you, someone (or something) . We don't know all there is to know about the creatures with whom we share our world. I've learned over the years to trust my instincts.
One night after work, I was walking from my office to the parking garage where my car was parked and I suddenly felt like someone was following me. I was terrified. (And I'm rarely scared like that.) Because I couldn't see anybody. It was just a feeling. I was afraid if I ran, I'd trigger its prey instinct, so I kept walking, fast. When I finally got to my car, I unlocked it, jumped inside, and locked it back, quick! My heart was POUNDING, I was sweating, hyperventilating, and literally terrified down to my toes!! But all the way home, I kept telling myself I was being silly, nothing was out there. I was just overreacting to the darkness and some weird echoes or something in the parking garage. But, the next morning, as I was drinking my coffee and reading the paper, I saw that a woman had been attacked, raped, and murdered as she was walking to her car - in the parking garage where I parked every day. It had happened only moments after I'd left.
So, now, when I get that weird, someone's-watching-me feeling, I pay attention to it. And I do whatever I can to make myself safe. Not that you're likely to be raped and murdered in the mountains, Luke. But, when you get that weird, someone's-watching-me feeling? Someone is. Pay attention to it, and do whatever you can to make yourself safe.

As you put on the rain suit there was something on the hill behind you. I couldn’t see it but it moved for a half second and caught my eye.

Enjoyable video but all I can say is you must have a couple of really big one, cause there is no way I would go anywhere near that place and the way you're doing it in the dark no way, but that's why we enjoy people like you. Thanks for sharing.

All due respects, but that may not be one of the smartest trips after dark you could take. We love adventure but that is borderline givin the conditions and elements. As we have discussed if something happened the others would be exposed to those conditions probably without the experience you have of having been there before. However all good, interesting trip. Like to know more about that coffee. Sounds great ALl good from east Kentucky USA Can't wait for the campout. Keep the heat close.
