JESUS brought me back to life after I suffered a cardiac arrest that left me with no heart beat for 28 minutes and no oxygen to my brain for about half of that time. The doctors said I wouldn’t make it and if by any chance I did I would be brain dead and confined to a wheelchair. On the 5 th day of life support they pulled the plug and during the time they were doing it my heart beat on its own 🙌🏼☝🏼 and my lungs began to show activity 🙌🏼☝🏼 . The doctors right away started hooking everything back up to me and told my wife that beings I showed life they had to . GOD breathed life back into my body and completely restored my brain and body , the doctors were baffled and one of them said it was a miracle. I wanted to let you know that JESUS IS REAL GOD IS REAL and I don’t know your situation but I do know that if you completely surrender to JESUS and give HIM your heart and believe HE CAN RESTORE YOUR LEGS BACK TO YOU. There is zero doubt in my mind if you put your trust in JESUS and believe in HIM. John 3 vs 16-18

Hang in there, Bubba. I'm slowly losing my legs over time to Multiple Sclerosis. Not too bad yet, but on that road... every chance I get I'm out there. It ain't easy but I'm doing my best to stave off the inevitable for as long as I can. ✌️

And believe it or not, its what got me into backpacking. I wanted to see the world, and experience its natural beauty before I can't anymore. There are someplaces I know I'll never be able to visit in the time I have left, but I am grateful for your videos because I can at least experience those places through you. Xander I came across your channel in 2022, for me it was my rock bottom. i was 16 years old, failing school and addicted to hard drugs and prescription medicines.
I had lost everything that i valued and i felt completely helpless and powerless in life.
Xander you where a guiding light in my life in a time where every moment was uncertain for me, you gave me peace but most importantly you gave me faith.
Your story is truly an inspiration, and i felt like i could really relate to you over these years because i understood exactly what you meant when you said if you didn't change your life you might not even be here. I didn't feel alone watching you, i felt understood, i felt like i had a friend that was showing me all these beautiful things in life.
Thank you for becoming a positive force in this world. You've changed lives.

Thank you, Xander, for unveiling my village to the world with such grace and authenticity. The moment you wept, overwhelmed by its beauty, resonated deeply within me. It took me back to the first time I stood in my village, surrounded by the awe-inspiring majesty of the mountains and the serene stillness of nature. I, too, was baffled by the breathtaking views-the way the valleys seemed to whisper stories of time, and the skies stretched endlessly, painted in hues I had never truly noticed before. That moment, etched forever in my heart, was a collision of wonder and belonging, a feeling too profound for words. Your journey refreshed those memories and brought back that same wave of nostalgia I felt then. Thank you for not just sharing your emotions, but for rekindling mine and reminding me of the unshakable bond I have with that place.

Same for me. I think it was my summer camping trip to Norwegian arctic mountains that gave me the mental fortitude and ability for introspection to accept that I also have a massive problem with alcohol. It still took months, but in late October, I started my sobriety journey. Couple relapses later, and still recovering from particularly nasty withdrawal, I'm almost a month dry, hopefully extending into persistent and sustainable sobriety. One day at a time.

    Xander,
Who knows if you’ll see this but your videos, especially this one, have made an immense impact on my life. My entire life I have also struggled with lack of confidence, motivation, and struggled with drug use in my late teens. I finally finished planning a trip to Europe after 3 years of planning and am leaving April 24th. When you started crying on the mountain I started too as well, because that is the exact feeling I hope to feel in Europe when I see sites I’ve dreamt of my whole life and meet people who are like minded. Ive struggled my whole life to connect with others that appreciate the small and simple things in life, and your journey/life is exactly what I want too. I’m kind of just rambling on but I want you to know that your videos give me hope that I will once again regain that confidence and appreciation for life and the simple beauty in it. Thank you so much man. Please keep making content like this. It’s truly changed my life and I’m sure many others in ways you may not have expected. Would love to meet you someday and hear more about how your experiences have changed your life.

Hi Xander, I have been following you for over three years now. You never fail to amaze me and I have watched every video of you ever since. You inspire me to go and explore the outdoor. I went to the Swiss Alps twice to camp and hike because of your videos and I loved every second of it. I just want you to know you that to me you are one of the purest and most inspiring persons on the platform. It is the whole vibe you create, the lessons you teach (from life lessons to camping tips and tricks), the never ending new things you do and try to learn, the way you film and the music you choose to use under your videos. Your videos are a form of art. You were made for this.
    Greetings from Rotterdam, The Netherlands
    Alex.

That moment around 25 minutes was really touching man. I'm have no idea what your struggles have been, but when I seen you cry at the sheer beauty and amazement of where you were, I felt it deep in my soul. I've struggled with a deep depression for the majority of my life, leading me to cope with drugs and alcohol. Gave it all for my family and ultimately, myself. But I still felt this hole that never seemed to be completely filled. I knew I had to do something and went on a solo thru hike of Death Valley march of 2024. I 'm just a small city guy from Wisconsin and I havent traveled a whole lot. I flew into Vegas late at night, caught my rental and then just started to drive towards the valley. It was so dark that I was a bit scared to keep driving with how tired I was, so I setup to sleep in my car off some turn-off. I woke up in the morning to nothing but the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. I sobbed like a child, not only at the sheer beauty, but because of what it took to get there. Thanks for your video's and being vulnerable.

I trekked the Annapurna circuit 35 years ago... It was the highlight of my world travels. It took us 20 days from Pokhara and absolutely loved the experience. As you mentioned there are regular village around the circuit and the pathway is the major connection between these villages. After 20 day we got very sick of Dahl Bart the traditional villiage lentil meals served everywhere... We discovered some hot springs up there on the circuit which was great for aching leg muscles ... The final 12 steps up to and into the ABC BASE CAMP was an amazing sense of achievement as everywhere by that stage require 3 full breathes of the thin air t every step. Too be honest I thought the challenge of the Annapurna circuit was much easier than hiking in my own country of Australia... And we carried all our own gear (we did not wuss out and let the Sherpa carry out gear. ) The most dangerous issue throughout the trek was the unexpected arrival of the donkey Caravans which head tup and down the mountain. I think they were smacked on the bum at a village Downhil somewhere and they headed up unsupervised until they get to their destination. Since the pathway is not wide enough for a donkey and a back packer to pass each other, we had to keep out wits about us to ensure that the donkey Caravans did not knock us off the mountain.
Even now, 35 years later that trop was life changing and I remember the trek with great fondness and of all of my life's adventures, I look at the Annapurna circuit to be a life highlight .... And the memories of those mountains in the morning sunrise or sunset was stunning..... I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

    Very well done!
Recounting your personal story of rock bottom and journey to recovery along the epic hike through these mountains added something very special to it.
When I was in my early 30s I wanted to hike in the Himalayan Mountains. I have always had a need for adventure and I love traveling. Unfortunately, I married a man who wanted none of that. I just didn’t realize it until after we were married. I talked him into visiting the Andes, Cuzco, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. I hoped he would see the mountains and be drawn to want to climb them. He wasn’t inspired by them. He didn’t enjoy the trip or the adventure of it. I loved it and wanted more. That was 30 years ago, but I still remember wanting to go on those grand
adventures. I think it may be an ADHD thing to need such adventure.
I’m divorced after 21 years married. Now I’m getting to live out more of my adventures.
Thank you for sharing the journey with us and letting us/me live vicariously through you. I was spellbound every moment of it.
May you be blessed to continue living out your dreams and adventures.

Xander, my dude, that was an excellent video and a joy to watch. Also, so many stars in the dark skies there - and a comet at 28:00! You've mentioned your prior addictions before and it's excellent that you've overcome them, and also clear from comments on your videos that you've inspired others to take a turn to improve themselves. It's obvious from your ability to portage heavy canoes and gear over some long trails that you're very fit, and I don't know how fit you were when you were misusing alcohol etc. but to get into that kind of shape is a great achievement in itself. I thought you were mid-to-late-20s so to find that you're mid-30s is even more impressive. To take that to the level where you can hike at high altitude (though fitness isn't the only factor and some fit people just can't do altitude) and produce excellent videos with humbleness and humility is a testament to how far you've come. Happy New Year to you!
