You might be surprised by shaman. They play a little awkwardly with their new caster/ele builds, but they're showing up as top AoE dungeon tank by a long shot, and at the top (or near the top depending on your spec), of tank threat. Spend a little time on the shaman disc if you want to find out more.
Yes I agree, I am a sham tank main. And I am 95% first place on dps meter in trash pulls, and just okay in single target. I can also earthbind and kite like crazy to survive while nuking from a distance. We can pretty much kill massive amounts of mobs solo like blizzard mages can.
Idk why people sleeping on shaman tanks. They are still very much A if not S tier. With their rune changes a shaman tank is just a macro and embue swap away from being dps and rocking big numbers. Plus they get big hp and armor already and have a high block chance + self healing. Shaman tanks being ranked so feels way off.
Ya im maining shaman tank, they are effing insane, almost always 1st place dps in trash pulls. Bosses in anything so far dont do crap dmg to me. Without consumes/world buffs I've gotten up to 9.5k HP in ubrs with 32% block 10% parry 22% dodge. I'm honestly at the point I think I can pull SM cath in 1 pull and power level people using earthbind while gathering mobs in ghostwolf. I can kite so damn good I don't even think i need way of earth for that. They are for sure S tier. And we also get -10% fire dmg taken from ele talent, and -10% dmg taken from way of earth. So we will take a base -20% dmg taken from fire in MC.
I'm glad you said you weren't familar with rogues. They have the best aoe in the game now with T1 set bonus. They have the highest avoidance in the game, this phase they can hit 85-90% with raid buffs. They have a 3.5 min cd evasion that avoids all physical damage for 15secs. They will probably still have the highest threat output in the game. They T1 set bonus makes all physical damage taken reduced by 50%, nearly up all the time. I think rogues will be busted.

sry but your not playing Meta Lock when you talk about backdraft and immolate, witch u dont use in meta form, allso not a word about Deff is the new spellpower stat for meta lock, when you shadow cleave (now hits up to 10) you get 2 spellpower pr deff more then 3oo. makes the new deff rune on ring allso give 50 spellpower, there are alot more info on lock tanking, like alot of BRD boss/mobs are immune to fire, alot of mobs in strat-scholo silence in melee range ect.
Yeah like he said he has no clue about rogues. I haven't even played on PTR but just from the patch notes alone I can tell they are gonna be very strong in single target and in aoe threat :P my guess he is fishing for comments and it works :P
what do you mean? shield slam is an ability, as far as the game is concerned all abilities are calculated as main hand, which is why heroic strike with offhand is not affected by the hit penalty

While you have a shield equipped, your autoattack animation is sometimes a strike with your shield. This is purely visual, its a normal main hand auto attack
I rly dont understand your measures... Im even rerolling on druid tank cause its that bad, by far the worst tank in the game. Since all tanks got aoe now its pretty much down to 2 values. Mitigation and DPS. While the raw dps isnt the important value - its the dps loss compared to their dps counterpart. so what you want to calculate is feral tank vs feral dps, rogue tank vs rogue dps and so on. since you need the class anyways for their buffs. if you do that warlock is far far ahead with a dps loss of roughly 800 while druid is dropping a whopping 1600 and isnt even crit immune. its a freakin joke. on top of that wl is the only tank that can rly benefit from restro tree aura and shadow heals, since you put them into caster groups... WL - S Tier, everything else B Tier, Druid D Tier.

Everyone thinking a Rogue Tank uses Daggers is absolutly out of their mind..So who cares about Mutilatenerfs?? Im Maintanking MC (and since p1) as a Rogue and its absolutly broken.. Hots are more then enought to keep me alive. easy 1k dps and 45% dodge togehter with a 50% crit chance is the most broken shit i have ever seen. And getting 95% dodge for 15 Seconds TWICE in 1 fight is insane. getting another 50% magicdamage reduction for 10 seconds TWICE in a boss fight is even crazier..... oh did i mention the roguetank gives a perma 4550 armour pen on the Boss with every single hit? Oh and we give our casters 10% more damage... You can even 100% parry Ragnaros kick if you time it right.. so no second tank needed... and with HaT you can nearly negate every single autoattack damage to 50% as soon as you have 6piece.so how on earth is Rogue a C ??? dont get me wrong m8 i really enjoy your content! your absolutly amazing! And plz dont be mad @ me for saying this: But your Rogue Tank rating made me lol so hard i nearly peed my self. :D :D
Idk why you celebrate a class losing a spec and being gutted. As a shaman main who mains resto and OS tank it’s frustrating. I don’t need to be the best but being gutted is a terrible feeling
Yes I agree. However, I don't think the nerfs hurt tank shaman that much, and the shield mastery is getting buffed and the 2 and 4 their set bonuses are wicked good. We will be fine!

shaman tank was memed on before sod, they deserve the spot light in sod.

Rogue AoE threat does not exist. Trying to do a dungeon in a enviroment where people are used to AoE down everything, rogue tanking is a nightmare.

I think you missed some pretty big Warlock tank changes. Infernal Armour on its own makes them BiS

rogue is bis now with tier 1 2 set i am maintanking all content with no issues and top 3 dps overall dmg...

Did you notice on PTR for war in def stance, the shield seems to hit like an off hand ? There is a note about that anywhere?
