Phase 4 is currently on the PTR and there has been a TON of class changes. Today I want to go over 3 of the most exciting changes that each class will see based upon what we currently know.
There will still be a while left on the PTR before things go live, so things may still change in a big way, but the changes are already looking to be in an interesting state.

I have the feeling that the Warrior "world buff" is a test and they are planning to let other classes provide other buffs like that. Id gladly take that over running around and farming world buffs

@@veritasabsoluta4285 I doubt that, most are invested in cata now. Much better content and you got arena, flying mounts so you dont need spend 10 years of your life to move from A to B. Harder content. Asad in normal dungeon Cata are more difficult than any raid bosses in SoD lol.

And you must be living in a different universe because pretty much no one gives a fuck about cataclysm classic, it was the expansion that started the spiral into retail, only a small minority of players are actually playing that.

You forgot that spriests also use Shadow Word: Death in their rotation. So 3 buttons after applying all dots. Additionally with tier 1 set You'll need to use Mind flays from time to time cause it'll be 100% stronger and 50% shorter on procs
I'm one of the people that asked for tree form. Guess I'll have to come back for P4 and show that I feel seen
My mate mains resto druid and was curious about joining back for p4 and tree form was the nail in the coffin for him

@@Milk-rn5uq I think it's nostalgia from those who played during tbc and wotlk. Tbh I got over it throughout the years, but since sod is so experimental I think it makes sense to bring such a distinct spell to its table. Also, the cool new moonkin forms from DF show that they could've eventually updated tree form with unique skins if they kept it

If you go vindication since shield block value scaling sucks. The only tank with out aoe. 😂 can't make that shit up
I play as actual prot spec, similar to a TBC tanking spec. That will still be great for tanking.
it is't. Thorn away had issue taking back agro. Only tank that got that issue. Aoe? Weakest class. Avoidance? Worst class too! Tbc paladin ad the only aoe tanking. Now? Nothing. Worst i that? MC got unblockable bosses. And mana is an issue the moment you are not tanking. Only drawbacks.
It is not something that gets talked about much but Tier 1 2set bonus for SP will be Flash Heal castable in ShadowForm. That will actually be the most exciting change for SP especially in pvp. No more dropping out of shadowform and back in, wasting 1.5k man on a heal and loosing dmg and dmg reduction while healing. Plus, taking surge of light rune will then make a lot of sense for SP, because any crit will allow for Flash Heal to be instant, so SP survivability will go up considerably aswell as mana issues will be less frequent.
Healing while in shadowform is gonna be scary af, SP was already a very strong pvp class
they need to fix ignite on frostfire bolt. Currently the ignite is only fire dmg and not frostfire dmg. Test it out in ungoro on the fire elementals. The frostfire will crit and then the dmg tick its immune to and also the ignite dmg. This will make frostfire no good in mc and bwl so you will have to go arcane or frost
Did they really give boomies every passive shadow priest rune in one package?
How are locks looking vs mages for end game damage in dungeons and raids, especially with MC mob fire resistance?
Still loving SoD. Didn’t get into Cata. Leveling characters and farming.

I am definitely open to trying different classes, mage does not feel good right now so tempted to try out either shaman or rogue, which would be a good choice coming from being a mage player?
mages are doing the most dps in the ptr and looks like It's going to be the strongest class but both shaman and rogue are looking good as well.. elemental shaman looks really fun imo and I guess you enjoy casters since you are a mage player so maybe elemental would be a good choice

I'm broke in SoD. If I have to spend copious amounts of gold to aquire the tier 0.5 set(s), then I'm going to be very, very sad and dissapointed. I feel screwed on so many fronts without gold

Advanced Warding for mages, what does a mana shield on a warrior do? does it not drain mana? does it even work? does it drain the mages mana?
I played it until phase 3, (at some point 2 shoting people as an mm hunter isn't fun anymore) I won't bother with the rest, I'll wait until the beta test is over and what the future plans for SoD are.

They balanced pvp so fights last longer
SoD was never Classic+. It's a Beta for it at best.
Even the devs don't even know what C+ should be, so they toss everything on the wall and see what sticks and use community feedback as guidence. C+ (SoD we thought it was) is about to expand on the content. Make more NEW things. Like new bgs, dungens, raids etc. No insted they just reused the content. So much potential if they would just put more resources on it. Furgbold gate in Azshara as new dungeon or w/e, things like that. Turning old known dungeons into raids with updated loot ain't new content per say. I rest my case.

8:46 except for pallys, they didnt upgrade hammer of the righteous for that... kinda BS, sure we have consecrate, but that is not an instant aoe attack like all the rest of the tanks have.

Shadow priest changes are good but too little. We have no scaling which means we're going to be good for the first two weeks because of the high base damage of spells. But after that we will be relegated to the bottom again.
Too much AoE!! I hated that about Wrath. Run in, pull the whole room and the whole group uses their AoE ability to mow it down with no threat consequences
I've not watched the vid yet but lemme guess the best change for rogue is that dogwater Fan of What a bloody boring overpowered ability that should never Be in the game because it's mindless trash

Apart from an absolute ton of stuff is designed insanely poorly.
There is still a TON of pointless runes. Which blizzard promised would be reworked in the 60 bracket and I haven't seen a note on any of them
Yeah! We want a new 40-men raid where we spam 1 button and warriors do 4x damage than any other class.

Catswipe is much much better than the wotlk version, as it also generates a combo point (which was a massive issue in tbc).

I was hoping Shadow would get its mana battery status back in SoD when we learned they’re just adding other expansion spells instead of truly new things. That said I’ve stopped playing SoD as it’s a bore with nothing engaging going on outside of raid. If we had more clarity on what our characters will do at the end of the season (TBC please?) I’d be more interested.
Its a seasonal server. They said that from the beginning. Assume its going to get yeeted into the abyss

Phase 4 will have all the content of classic level 60 and then some. Should be considerably more content then any previous phase
I feel like feral has gotten NO love this phase coming, yeah swipes cool for AOE trash but.. its the exact same, No combo finisher other than RIP. Would be nice to have Bite and rake usable

the tnt melee atk power thing is ridiculous - they are literally leaning toward melee again, idk why they pick one side of it, just make it ranged or melee atk power so either spec can use it viably. We should've gotten barrage or w/e it was called in retail where you go machine gun mode with arrows, that was badass and that's the kind of bang I'd like to end P4 with, not this minor tweak to fuckin wyvern sting wtf is that shit.
Blizz giving hunters nerfs to main specs and trying to force everyone to play a spec no one wants to play. You want melee well you can do 400dps or you melee weeve and do 600 or play a shaman and do 2k
I’m so confused about what you are talking about. You are complaining about traps scaling off melee AP? Any agility stat will scale this. Currently ranged hunter does double the damage melee does. Does not seem like an issue ranged should be concerned with when they are this far ahead.

Of course it's not. It's season of discovery. It was going to be new and different from the very beginning. They're pushing the limits of what the "vanilla" formula can handle before breaking. In some places it broke.
Let's just hope they take these lessons to heart and put them towards a more toned down, longer-form classic+ in the future.

Why is the focus always on putting later expansion abilities into the game?? This isn't what anyone wanted we wanted new dungeons new quests completed zones slight adjustments finished storylines and small implements to half finished specs.. now it's just give every class later expansion abilities and everyones going nuts like it's innovative and different when it's just the same crap
Not sure if I will even care playing when P4 comes out on July 11th. P3 killed the hype/fun for me to the point I feel too disconnected to bother anymore. SoD has about half a year more to live but since it's a seasonal server, all your work is gone after. They won't delete your characters they said but what's the difference between deleted seasonal characters vs put them on dead Era servers? No way in hell they will allow you to transfer to a High/Full server. No they want to fill the low/mid servers. Plus all your runes/abilities gone since Era does not have those things.
We already did classic raids back in 2019. Work your hide off for the remaining 6+ months for maybe 1-2 NEW content, aka Kara Crypt and maybe that Scarlet raid they hinted about? Pass.
Blizzard simultaneously giving moonkins baseline dot crits while locking feral dot crits behind t1 four piece is hilariously out of touch and yet completely in line with feral dps getting no actual attention since p1.

Why exactly is that so bad when feral will be the best dps in the game for p4 and boomie will be floating in the middle? Entire specs are getting deleted in p4, so I don’t think this is exactly the time for ferals to be in despair.
I don't know why dots critting is behind a rune or a tier set and why literally all dots aren't just crit enabled.
It's not like the dots do much damage and critting will break the game. More just balance those dot abilities
They add so many runes for shockadins but they give us 0 gear with caster stats ;/

@@timjohnson6694 unless druid forms mana cost is significantly reduced, (like to WOTLK numbers) ferals will be the most under powered class in the game. im speaking of course from a pvp perspective

They messed up the momentum so bad that SoD will likely never come back to form. Dropping SoD support altogether to focus on Cata on top of P3 being the worst phase was a terrible idea and no matter when P4 releases at this point because TWW is almost here so it will steal a lot of attention from it. I wish they were able to add the SM raid or Kara crypts by now, I doubt it will have the attention it deserves if they even do it in the future.
Yeah I honestly have zero desire to return with these lackluster changes. Zero new content? Okay, Ill just go play Elden Ring that just added nearly 60+ hours of gameplay as DLC.
The only change they need to make is release fresh

If you need it to play your class it should be baseline, runes should be reimagine really their kinda pointless. In poe you could add interesting modifyer to it, what the point of it in wow it jst gonna be watered down

Cos 99% of EU players have 0 interest in paying another sub fee and leveling a char to level 10 to give there feedback on the current ptr changes. And it's frankly dogshit that they are ignoring an enormous chunk of the wow population

Cool video, man, but I quit this and I'm never coming back. I'm absolutely s8lickened by the sweaty try hards who sucked all the fun out of the corpse of this 20 y old game. Dark and darker is way more fun. And before you get on my case for being bad, I had like 80 on that parse...log... whatever shit that was that turned this game into an xcel chart. As if having so many add-ons that the game played itself wasn't bad enough... shit game, rant over.
The big change I'm hoping for is fresh Vanilla

@@kittan5450SoM was bad for me because when I want classic the LAST thing I want is rushed phases with only 8ish resets per phase. I play the game because it's slow and chill and I have a lot of time to get bis or crucial items that last for phases.
But blizzard does everything for player retention, even butchering their content.
