An accurate little fan production that plays to the grounded strengths and tensions of the original film. It wonderfully as an immediate sequel to the original years before Road Warrior. Desperately needs a remaster though.

To everyone who left positive comments in regards to Mad Max Renegade, thank you very much. It was a passion project for both me and the crew and given what we had to work with, I'm happy with what we accomplished. If you'd like to see another fun Mad Max flick, check out "A Wasteland Story" here on RUclips. Also on RUclips, you can see a corny little video of the Interceptor before I sold it. Kinda shows the details of the car and some good running shots. Search for "Hot Rod Holly's Movie Car Mania". Thanks again for the comments and I hope you enjoy the other flicks.

    • @ZombieChimpanzee
      @ZombieChimpanzee 6 лет назад +11

aaaahhh, that was one of the roughest and most painful dog deaths in a movie for me. they spend so much time showing Dog's personality and character, like in most movies not centered around a dog that have one the dogs have a bit of personality, but Dog, he actually shows a full one. you see him at rest, working, interacting with Max and the Gyro captain, you see how smart he is, how clever he is, waiting to jump the guy when he goes for the car after he gets the drop on Max, and then they do what most movies like this that include dogs do and tear the audience's fucking hearts out.

This! I have to echo Investment Joy's words here: why have I not seen this before?!! Uploaded in April 2012 and I'm only just seeing it in October 2021. This is the direction many of us fans of the original were expecting from Fury Road. This is what we wanted, more max, more Interceptor, more of the collapse of civillization and what led Max to be wandering the wasteland as we saw at the start of MM2 (The Road Warrior). To fill in the gap, as it was quite a big one. This is what George lost sight of. This is why so many of us hate Fury Road. It makes no sense in regard to the timeline of the original two films; it just doesn't fit anywhere. Well done. Definitely going to hit that subscribe button & check out your other videos. Maybe some day, I'll see ya on the road.

If I had a car and could sell it for an interceptor I’d totally do it

Great work guys, although I loved Fury Road I loved that your video focused on max while the mfp still existed. Tying dogs origin into this story was also an excellent touch.

So cool that they incorporated the dog in there, that that is the dog you see in MM2.
Simple enough, but shows the time to be between 1and 2 and fits the story.
And that car is still the bomb, also nice to see the car as it would be as they were sold.
If i'd ever have a chance to get a movie car, that would be it. I'd do it modernized though, but still maybe do the two tanks on it, but keep the spoilers with a back lid made to fit it all, which would be a big project in itself.
If only i were ever that rich.

Wow, I must say this was actually really impressive! I was expecting a laughable attempt at a MadMax tribute, but this works very well. The acting isn't too shabby (Death scenes aside), the costuming was pretty good, and I loved how it tied into Road Warrior. Personally, I believe Max should've been a little more 'evil'/dark, considering that this is inbetween MM1 and 2, but it was still very impressive overall/

Fantastic. Exceptionally well made guys. That Pursuit Special is bang on. As is the Mustang and the Rancher, they were ideal for the look and feel of Mad Max.
Above all else, you all had very convincing Aussie accents. Speaking as an Australian, I would have been convinced that it WAS Australia. Only thing that gave it away was the left hand drive cars :P (sans Pursuit Special).
But well done nonetheless and you guys should be commended for your efforts.

I watch a lot of these little independent short films on youtube, some good ,some bad and mostly indifferent ones.
This one I have to say well done on it totally hit the spot.
Well filmed and looked very authentic to the original film lots of care taken even down to the limp.
Story was good too and filled in the part on where Max acquires the dog it could easily have been tagged onto the end of the film itself.

It's a good effort for a low budget. Australian accents are one of the hardest to fake, and occasionally in places I forgot that the actors were Americans. It's also a very nice touch to have a real blue heeler pup

Very well done film. It is very clear that the creators are quite the fans of Mad Max movies, all the signature shots are there (on hood facing the supercharger and Max's face, on the ground facing exhaust pipes, on ground looking at a car come to a screeching halt). The story of how Max got the dog also is a cool idea. :) I liked this quite a bit
