If the toe angle gives it a slight tendency to wander - but you otherwise like the car and don't want to change brands and possibly take a big hit of depreciation - why not just have your favourite mechanic set the toe angle half a degree further in at the front?
Yeah, and who knows if the angles have been knocked off original alignment anyway... Because the manufacturers don't specify certain wheel angles but instead a range it must be in, so there's leeway to choose from. Just look at the values German professional track testers Sport Auto has found when they've measured the test cars manufacturers have given for their track tests: almost always actually way beyond factory settings! Great review! BTW: You're not on the "wrong" side of the car. Actually, you are on the right side of the car. Since most people are right-handed, shifting a manual and using an infotainment system, a left-hand drive is prefered...
Hi, Mark! Hmm. That gets a respectful 'nope' from me (I'm English, so I also sit on the right and drive on the left. You know: the way proper people do 😁). The logic of your left-hand versus right-hand dominance thing gets a bit wobbly with a bit more selective probing. If you're a right-handed guitarist or a violinist, for instance, all the clever, fiddly, muscle-memory stuff is done with your left hand. Driving takes far less skill than, er, fiddling. US peeps feel uncomfortable with anyone who does or thinks or says (or spells) anything differently. Do it our way or go home. There's 270,000,000 more of us, they say, so we dumb Limeys are outnumbered and should darn-well shut up and fall into line and do as we're told... No, thank you. The US drives on the right, just like China. Mmmm, solidarity. But India drives on the left. And Japan. And Australia. And Africa drives on the le- Never mind. So... Stupid old Britain should bow down and beg to become part of the US Empire - the 51st (?) State, right? Not a chance. We're content to be a noisy minority. Historically, US peeps drove on the right purely because the evil Brits didn't. It was nothing more than aggressive contrariness. 'Colonial' defiance. Why else did old man Webster produce his pidgin-American-English dictionary? To assimilate the lingo like the Borg. And now Merkins divide and rule 'thru' Google. Classic! Well, we drive on the left because we spent many years and many wars telling that right-hand side of the road French-dude Napoleon where he could shove his garlic baguettes. [Garlic bread???] US peeps love the French because they fought alongside them against us treacherous Brits during the War of Independence (they forced the Yorktown surrender, and even gave you that nice Statue of Liberace, complete with piano and candelabrum), so driving on the 'right' (a.k.a. wrong) is just a bit more traditional anti-Brit rebelliousness. Whatever. Drive safely, old bean. That's what really matters. And no fiddling.
Do you want your dominant hand doing the most important thing or the least? For me, precise steering is more important than fiddling with the infotainment and really, gear shifting is a series of repetitive patterns so can be delegated to muscle memory and ultimately is still less important than precise steering control. Just my 2 pennies worth on why the right side is the "right" side 😉

Not for me. The styling is fussy, the door has more folds than an origami crane. The interior is so grey it's depressing and the sound... like a four cylinder :(
I struggle with this one. Close your eyes and it sounds like an EA888 without the pop/bangs, with the roof down the rear looks to high and it doesn't look 200k. Most of the 2010s Ferrari's had an extra in either the looks or sound that made it a heart of head purchase. This one doesn't tug on the hear strings at all. It feels like a car a rich man buys his wife so she can have her Ferrari despite not being into cars.
Love your channel and never miss a video! All I'll say is that if the Portofino M(eh..) is in any way similar to drive as the older Cali T, (and going by how you describe the slight waywardness of the handling it does appear to be..) it'll probably feel like a BIG step backwards if you've just come out of the likes of a new or recent 911Cab. The Cali T was the biggest bag of doodoo I've ever purchased (sold it after just three weeks..). Torsional rigidity of a soggy shoe box.. and the styling definitely hasn't improved much at all, in fact I'd say the Cali T actually looks better.. all personal opinion of course.
Two turbochargers and particulate filters. All combine to rob a lot of sound. Having said that, Mercedes and McLaren appear to be able to make their twin turbo V8's still sound half decent.
It doesn't hurt to ask, you never know ... so my ideal review (that would help me right now) is a comparison of a 2010-2012 Mercedes S500 4Matic (which I had and loved but sold) and a 2014-2015 Mercedes S500 4Matic (which I think I want). I 'upgraded' from my 2011 S500 4M to a 2018 E400 T thinking that the drop of 100bhp would be tolerable with all the new tech. Especially as it has the same 0-60mph time. Biggest car buying mistake ever. The lack of S-Class comfort was a big disappointment and the 9-Speed gearbox is shit. So I'm looking at going back to a 2014-2015 S500 next. Anything newer than 2015 also has the 9-speed so I'm ruling that out.
@@werbinich7908 Ich hasse es! Too many gears - we don't need 3 overdrive gears. It always wants to be in a too-high gear. When you're in D-comfort and you change gear with a paddle, after 10 seconds it goes back to D. The older 7-speed ones never did that. When you put it into Sport+ mode it plays fake pops and bangs into the cabin through the speakers and you can't turn it off. The nearest thing to a manual mode is hidden within individual and (a) it plays the pops and bangs, and (b) it's not even truly manual, it will still change gear automatically when it feels like it. So you can be slowing down and be in third and think "I'll change down to second" and you find yourself in first because - well because it's not a proper manual mode. The nearest mode I've managed to get to being happy with is 'Sport' mode - it's only usually 1 or 2 gears at most away from where I'd want it to be, and one quick shift gets me to that point, and it doesn't make any pops and bangs in Sport mode. I'd rather be changing gears myself in a comfort manual mode with only 7 speeds though - like I had in the 2011 S500 (and previously a 2009 E500 and a 2012 E500T). I could drive around town in all of those cars just flicking up/down between 2nd and 3rd the whole time - never needed 1st, never went above 3rd. On the motorway I'd do the same but with 4th and 5th (final drive). Was that enough things to not like about it ;-)

This is the car I would imagine looked like if a Tesla Model S and a Honda Accord had a baby.
Agreed. Looks wrong. Awkward in fact
Great review and I hate this car. I could never buy one.
You're not on the wrong side of the car, you're on the wrong side of the road 🤣
That's the correct side of the car you weird Brit. 😂 And yes, that well known gentleman used that exact same car on that exact same corner.
Sounds about as exciting as a new Mazda.
Two turbochargers and particulate filters. All combine to rob a lot of sound. Having said that, Mercedes and McLaren appear to be able to make their twin turbo V8's still sound half decent.
Does Harry know you are using your road. Lol
ill be honest...in the real world in manchester..a ferrari is a ferrari...its fast, looks sexy and pulls birds. enough said.
But the lack of noise means lack of allure, lack of emotion..
Love it..
That front end belongs on an Aston Martin.
I cancel my roma for this but then order again the roma
not N/A, but better than any EV
I am afraid that's somewhat unlikely to happen
@@JayEmmOnCars Figured it probably would be but worth a comment to try :)
@@veemacks7255 What’s wrong with the 9 speed auto?
Was that enough things to not like about it ;-)
You can't have the air-scraf without the heated and ventilated seats.
