Sophie Inkster uh I feel like the opinions really differed on that one! When the POV changed back and forth from Tiffy to Leon, the writing style also changed tremendously. The writing in Leon‘s chapters was very stoic, cold and almost movie script-like which honestly sucked at first but I personally got used to it after a while. I enjoyed it but a lot of others didn‘t and I can‘t blame them for it.
Recommendations for RomComRomances: The Wedding Date and Bridesmaids by Zara Stoneley and Relatively Normal by Whitney Dineen. I agree with The Bromance Book Club and Fan Girl. I listened to both on audiobook and they were delightful! Undomestic Goddess is also a feel good contemporary. The Princess Bride by William Goldman is a good book for people that want something lighter but don’t like romcom type stories

I love how Helen demonstrated Asian culture and the struggle of having autism as well as having to deal with people like them. It's just very heartfelt and I love it. She made me laugh and cry which I rarely do except when I really feel an emotional connection with the characters.

Some of my favourite feel good books for anyone looking for more recommendations: Cotillion by Georgette Heyer (funny, clean, historical romance) Indiscretion by Jude Morgan (ditto above) The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (enemies to lovers, fun and bantery) I Don't Know How She Does It by Allison Pearson (very funny book about being a working parent, I think they made a movie out of it but don't much like Sarah Jessica Parker so never watched it) You Had Me At Hello by Mhairi McFarlane (funny second chance romance) This Is Going To Hurt by Adam Kay (Hilarious and touching memoir of a junior doctor) Haunting Mr Darcy by KaraLynne Mackrory (Pride and Prejudice meets Just Like Heaven (the Reese Witherspoon movie). Super funny and romantic).
I’m excited to check out some of these. 😊 Loved the unhoneymooners and josh and hazels guide to not dating. The characters are so hilarious and cute stories. I really disagree about One day in December. I just listened to the audiobook last weekend. The narrators were fantastic and maybe because, especially the female narrator, was conveying the heartbreak and longing of the characters with their voices I seriously almost didn’t finish. 10 years of heartache, guilt, and agony. It does have a happy ending but it was only the last 15 mins of the book. It was very well written and I thought the characters developed well, but light easy read it was not. I think if it wasn’t for pandemic I would have enjoyed it more bc it was good.

The heartbreakers by Ali Novak ( cute, light and funny YA contemporary) 2 Case of the collie flour by Erik Schubach ( I don't know what is the genre because there is crime but it's not the most important thing in the book and there is a start to a love story but it's not the main subject. So I will say that is a light and funny book for dog lovers ).
I've finished reading 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston (try the audiobook, it was amazing!) a few days ago and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would considering I'm not very into YA contemporary romance. I think that book would fit in this category.

I'd recommend All the Impossible Things by Lindsay Lackey as a contemporary middle grade book, Hot Dog Girl as a contemporary YA, and Red White & Royal Blue as a mlm romcom.
I was disappointed with Fangirl, I didn't like as much as I hoped I would. Currently reading Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo and loving that. You should read Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella, great fun pity the film wasn't that good. Hope to read The Flatshare by Beth O Leary over weekend.
I think the book was okayyy... :/ I much prefered I‘ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. The main girl in Can You Keep A Secret was so annoying. She kept lying about the most ridiculous things so much that I actually felt bad for her Ken boyfriend.

Highly Recommend. “ The Life That mattered” and “ The Life you Stole” by Jewel Ann.. it is a very emotional book, it is categorize as a romance/ thriller. The book is a story line of a early 30’s women and her love and best friends life. The book does have warnings triggers ( abuse, cheating), I cried throughout the books. Check out.. I believe you could like it

Everyone should read ‘the flat share’ if they like a mostly light-hearted romance, so sweet and really funny so my favourite book in this genre!
