    I am in my late 40's and will be starting Nursing School as a second career in August 2017. Your videos have been so enlightening. I appreciate your suggestions, honesty and positive input. I look forward to your weekly videos. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule for us new students. This is so awesome and kind of you.

      Congratulations! Keep going and don't look back. I think as we get older, we know what we really want and will do whatever it takes to accomplish these goals. We are definitely at an advantage with the gained wisdom and knowledge through the years!

    Great advice!! I just graduated a week ago. Next step NCLEX. You really can't put a time limit on how to study nursing concepts. I myself had to read the information more than once in order to grasp it. By the way your ABG videos were a big help. Thank you for helping me make it through school with your videos and advice. You really should consider becoming a nursing instructor. You are that good. Thank you again!!!

    I agree 100% Brad..I think mastery of each topic/concept is vital. Most students may feel (myself included) like we have a set amount of time to learn a vast amount of material..hence, studying the info to learn, master, and speak it outloud. Its the timeframe that may have a student feel as though they have SO much more material to cover, and that sometimes time is NOT on a nursing student's side!!!

    This is helpful. I've been doing blocks of 1/2 hr with 10 min breaks. Totaling 3 hrs of study time. Questions/content from Saunders (content) and NCLEX style questions.

    That's how i usually studied during my pre requisites. For anatomy and physiology there was so much slides and material that I would just quiz myself and ask myself multiple questions and then answer them. Repetition of doing that really gets that knowledge stuck in your mind. The goal is to simplify the information to the point where it's easy as 2+2=4. I recently got my acceptance email to the nursing program. And I'm excited to start learning already. Yet I'm also kind of scared because I've heard Nursing fundamentals has a lot of material. But I'm prepared to study for all it.

    You are all inspirations to me!! Been a cook/chef for over 31 years. Just finished prerequisites in May...start the nursing program in August...3 days before I turn 50!! Never too old to learn!! Decided to change careers after being my mom's caretaker for almost 10 years before she passed in 2017. She is my inspiration, motivation, and guiding light!! 😇🤗

    "Teach the wall!"😂 That's a great way of phrasing it! Personally, I find it more challenging to teach someone else before I've mastered a concept to where I'm comfortable talking about it. I teach a stuffed animal.

    Could you tell me whether or not in your opinion would it be too much to take a A&P course with another course like Communication 101 or PSY 111? Really need to know what you think.

    • @stephaniestephen4997

      April June i think it all depends on what you think youre able to handle. Set aside the time to study and remain focused and youll be fine. All the best

    • @NurseBass
      @NurseBass  7 лет назад

      I agree with what Stephanie said. It's certainly doable, but you definitely want to hone in and put the majority of your time and focus into A&P. :D
