you talk on topic, it's what we come here for! some people "react" by talking about unrelated stuff and ignoring the music entirely.... and they don't get return visits from me. I'm here for the warning song reactions and love them, even though I'm 3 years too late :-)

Hunter grabbed me the first time I heard it. It doesn't sound like them, but it gave me the feeling of some old Fastway, if you remember them from back in the day. I'm glad you liked this one.

Maybe your next reaction should be their new track narcissista - a bit of an FU to some criticism they've got for only singing in English, not their native Spanish.

Well now, welcome back stranger! Good to see you back on the interwebz Paul! Missed ya buddy! Funny, I was just clicking around on your channel last night to see if we somehow missed your latest video. Certainly curious to see what you think about Hunter, which is a song that I've grown to really like. I never disliked it, but at first it was more a curiosity with a cool intro riff, but the more I listened to it, the more I really liked it. Especially the way Dany sings it. Only thing missing perhaps is a solo. Alright, let's crack on and see what you say!

Hi Paul. I am laughing at your comment about not posting in “due time” which has been noted in the TWA community. This as you are one of the few, if the only reactor, that actually has followed the album from start to end.
Nice reaction. I agree, it would have been nice if they had extended the breakdown and included a longer guitar solo as you pointed out. Moving forward. You have already seen The End so it will be interesting to see how you feel it ended. I would say Narcisista with The Warning as many have already recommended for next song and then for other bands to react to.... all depends on your music style, I would guess you are quite acquainted with most older music. You are guitar riff oriented... well for me, I would like you to continue react to Motion Device with Infinity Wave 21:12 long. It is not guitar riffish though, more a mix between modern Pink Floyd meets old Black Sabbath and decides to go for a hallucinogenic trip where the first 6 min are very slow almost ambient followed by a midsection melodic&harder beats and ending with a fantastic 6 min of magic proportions like a dream. No video of it so studio version only. If you decide to not react to it, do yourself a favor at least and just listen to it. Cheers 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

You will love "The End" It's one of my top 3 favourite songs from the album ! It's very emotional I think ! And yes, these ladies are unpredictable, that's what makes it so exciting to follow them ! And they are such good songwriters ! Ever since I listened through the 21 CB album for the first time, that really struck me the most ! Good to see you back Paul! Looking forward to your reaction to the last track, I think you'll enjoy it.
Also, you should check out their new song 'Narcisista' that came out a couple of weeks ago! It's in Spanish!
As for what you should do after you finish the album - you can always listen to their first album 'XXI Century Blood'!
I think it's as good, if not even better than this one!
Or maybe you can branch out and listen to some other bands. I'd suggest you check out Band-Maid!
They're also an all-female rock group from Japan (leaning more towards hard rock/metal). They're super talented and really amazing, especially live! I haven't heard a bad song from them so you can't go wrong about choosing one to react to, but I'd suggest 'Puzzle' - live, as a good starting point!

Welcome back Paul. What a cool song, great analysis too. I can never understand people who come to a watch a reaction video and complain that the reactor reacted during the reaction... it's a crazy way to react to a reaction... These concert videos were recorded in Mexico City at very high altitude and the show was their longest at just over 2 hours but they killed it all the way to the end. There's plenty of stuff on their channel from their very first performances though to just after Berklee, the release of their EP, the stuff leading up to their first album. The stuff between XXI Century Blood and Queen of the Murder Scene and a brand new song recorded a couple months ago Narcisista. I'n sure you'll have an audience for anything The Warning related...

Jon Palmer, I'm sure they have new songs in the works, maybe even some that are ready for recording. But a new album may not be the best business model right now. It's a huge work and expensive.
Periodically releasing more single songs like Narcisista, may actually be better road. Done like that you keep having "hot" news for the social medias and new fresh songs that can be played at the gigs. Just look at how they released QOTMS on YT, pretty much song by song. It also gives more musically freedom, when the songs don't have to fit into a specific album.

Paul, have you listened to any BabyMetal? I'd be curious to see your reaction to them taking Download by storm a few years ago. It's some pretty weird and crazy stuff, but the guitar work is really interesting and there is a nice blend of heavy distortion, riffy melodies and chunky, rhythm driving bass. And surprises abound! Glad you liked Hunter. Its' a cool song and you're right about not being predictable and the song doesn't neccessarily need a solo, but with the cool riff and Dany's more innovative guitar work in this one, I would have like to have been indulged.
However, with a lot of the songs on this album, they aren't so much showcasing mind-blowing guitar licks or overwhelming us with shreddy solos, it's more about driving the story forward and giving a framework for the lyrical story-telling. In many cases, Dany's vocals (and her theatrical presentation has really come into its own over time...we have to remember it was their first time performing Chapters 3 (save for Dull Knives) and 4 live).
So having said that, have you had any time to ruminate on your earlier reactions to QOTMS and PSYCHOTIC? You seemed lukewarm on them, but I'm wondering if you've listened to the studio tracks a bit more to better understand the story that is unfolding. QOTMS is really when the protagonist begins to embrace her inner crazy and start to demonstrate a significant degree of indignant ownership of her evil side with PSY being the manifestation of her mind completely splitting apart and a total acceptance of the repercussions of her actions. And Hunter brings this around full circle with her inner voices reminding her that she is in fact going to succumb to her guilt and regret and it's only a matter of time before death/suicide wins out in the end!

    • @CrowboroughGuitarTuition
      @CrowboroughGuitarTuition  5 лет назад +1

Re; Babymetal - I know of them and have heard them but couldn't name a song or remember one in particular so they could be a good shout.
You're right that the songs are there to drive the story forward and no showcase abilities. It's easy for me to forget that hearing them in isolation. Not had a chance to go back over stuff so far but I must do.

Good job. As to the going into longer solos and breakdown comment. I too would like it. The problem is,I am pretty sure they use the backing track on most if not all of their live shows. I think it is one of the reasons the live shows are so consistent. It they get to the point where they can go without the BT, we might hear some more improv.
And Narsista is a great song. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, it just freakin’ rocks.

I think you could just say explicitly that it is not a first reaction, you know the song and want to react to it and analyse the 3-guitar solo in the end (well, if it's 3 guitars it's not a solo, but you know what I mean) and that will be fair enough.
After all, it's your channel. As long as you're honest and fair, you can do whatever you want.
