Apologies this has once again taken so long to put up. And I did have a try at experimenting with the video windows being the other way round. It just didn't quite seem to work given that I'd already filmed this before someone suggested I do that. I might try and have a rethink later.

Having gotten a fairly good grasp on what you do like and why, I figured you might not jump at this one.
My wife, who I've been playing guitar and singing with (she is a SINGER) for 27 years, recently said to me, after I had made a mistake while practing and reacted badly, "Don't worry about it. To them (the audience) we're Mozart."
I tell you this because what she said had a profound impact on me. While I play as well as I can, clean, rhythmically, etc., the vast majority of listeners are just enjoying the song (or not), and not watching my hands.
This song, in fact all of their songs, are written as whole packages to be enjoyed.
Of course, each of the ladies is skilled at her instrument, and is proud of her respective part of any given song. Each of them is realistic about where she stands with respect to others who play, professionally and otherwise.
They play, what they play, well. As time goes on, Dany's speed and technique will improve, as she works on it daily (all day).
In the mean time, we fans will sit back and marvell at compositions of our favorite Mozarts, who, after all, have a collective age of 50, and are putting together songs, the likes if which, many bands only dream about being able to create.
I'm done for now and, since this was typed on my phone, I won't be proof reading it. I hope there aren't all kinds of errors at key words making some of my meaning unclear.
Thank you for your reactions to this album. It is, far and away, the best collection of songs I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Thanks for the comment. The Mozart quote is so true. Definitely a confidence booster when playing in front of others.

Trust me, this song grows on you every time you hear it. It captures the moment in the story perfectly -- the punk feel, Dany's screaming vocals, the cheer chants. Our leading lady has completely lost her mind and been consumed by her own insanity and this song captures it perfectly.

What up Paul!? Been too long man, good to see this one up finally. Funny, I had kind of the same reaction. I didn't dislike it at first but it didn't "grab" me right off the jump the first few times I heard it. Since it was more "punk" and maybe due to the chanting chorus, it did seem a little out of place. But man, now that it has had months to marinate and sink in, I love it almost as much as any of the other tracks I favor (Ugh, Stalker, D2D, RHNF, QOTMS, DK, Hunter & The End) probably due to the energy and frenetic pacing.
And the lyrics, once you get to know them, are really pretty cool. Especially the part about "will you jump from the window or hang from the noose?" which really conveys what the character is wrestling with in her tortured mind. And remember this is the first time they ever played it L.I.V.E. and they pretty much nailed it. However, it has gotten beefier and more sonically "big" since and they've even used it as an encore song in a few shows.
Good to have you back (you at Donington tonight??) and hope Hunter is right around the bend. I think you will really like that one like QOTMS. Cheers mate!

Good honest reaction. Many like me thinks this is small master piece. The song is so straightforward punkish style and the stick with P.S.Y... repeated is for me genius. With Dany’s chord progression following her voice. Nice. Well it’s like everything, what fit one might not fit other. Only two songs left now... The End might be a bit of a surprise for you as it is way different. A song you immediately like or not depending on your music liking and then on Sunday June 15 you can enjoy their new song (in Spanish) called Narcisista. Cheers

AND Something that is often ignored about The Warning. These Little Girls were preparing to be musicians in the distant future. They made excellent covers in their "music room" (basement) ONLY to show them to family and friends. One of those covers went viral. They won some fans who started to "dream" with the music created by these Young Ladies.
As a creative exercise, one of their teachers asked them to write songs for each of them. His "close" and new fans began to acquire their creations "incipient" and began to ask for more.
The result of all this is 2 LPs (XXl Century Blood and the most recent Queen of the Murder Scene) and 1 EP (Escape the Mind, with their first creations).
"Speaking" more clearly, at the request of their own fans, The Warning goes "directly" from the basement to their albums, performances and opens up for Great Bands.
And they improve in leaps and bounds with every presentation!

The most amazing of these Little Ladies (The Warning), is that at the time of this concert had 18 years (Dany, lead guitar), 16 years (Pau, drummer) and 13 years (Ale, bass).
By this time they already had another LP (XXl Century Blood) and an EP (Escape the Mind). All of them with excellent music.
And they had opened for bands like DeffLeppar and The Killers among others.
    Is not it amazing?
By the way, These Girls are doing everything independently.

Definitely a song that needs a few listens.
First time I heard it I didn't know what to make of it and preferred to listen to other songs of theirs. Since getting their cd's and playing them non stop in the car this one has really grown on me and now ranks as one of my favorites.
There's parts of it that sound like it's a happy pop kind of song but we know that's it's far from being that. I kinda like that bipolar aspect to it.

I wonder if they didn’t deliberately do this one song in a punk-rock style to highlight the change in the Queen. In this song, the Queen has admitted what she has become and is conscious about her deeds. In the previous song, the evil side said that she didn’t deserve the throne. Here the Queen says that she will sit on her throne. She is challenging the evil side, claiming the throne, and embracing her evil self. This song is always a 'crank up the volume' one for me since it's such a happy little tune!

    • @Wolfonfire69
      @Wolfonfire69 5 лет назад +2

That is the point. She is embracing her bad side and she does it with JOY AND HAPPINESS.
And that makes it for me more chilling!
Remember Dany's words; "We did what the song asked us"

Yes, she is reveling in her madness at this point. The chorus is a cheerleader type chant cheering her insanity on.

O for a Blitzkrieg Bop vibe from this one and put up there as one of the top three with Sinister Smiles and QOTMS. To each is own I guess. Hunter and The End are also quite good. I hope you'd che out stuff from XXI Century Blood like Exterminated, Unmendable and When I'm Alone, It'd be even better if your did a reaction video for them. I have a feeling you'll like these songs from QOTMS much more after listening to them again. Love the series. Rock! \m/

To me, this was one of my favorite songs on the album. I do agree that the energy level and pace are different than any of the other songs.
But, that's what I liked. With the simple chorus spelling P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. being repeated it makes it a fun song to sing along with. It actually seems like a song that could get attention from people who don't know the band or can come to like the band from a different direction, if that makes any sense. I mean like there are some people who are primarily metal fans but found something they could like in the band. Other people are fans of classic rock bands and they found something to draw them to the band too. Personally, I'm someone who likes pop music, from the 60s to today, as well as rock, R&B, hip hop and rap. Probably not the typical Warning fan. But, their talent, energy and dedication to make THEIR music still drew me in.

Jon, spot on! My wife is in your category and she is very much a fan of TW. While I'm more in the former of the three, leaning towards metal and heavy, hard rock, but not much grunge (in my case), but like you said, there is enough variety and "borrowed" elements of multiple genres that blend together into songs that are generally very catchy, fun to listen to and energy-boosting in some way. Or the song -- like in the case of D2D or QOTMS or Copper Bullets -- just rocks hard and with a take no prisoners kind of vibe. And that must be respected when it is done in a way that is still appealing to a wider audience (just as say AC/DC or Judas Priest or Foo Fighters have managed to do). Even if you lean more towards pop or something harder. I think that's why you're seeing such a wide spectrum of fan, and it's awesome! \m/

They can't all grab everyone the same. To me it's a nice variation and Dany really performs it well.

You might want to check the Desvalados show where they were not performing at altitude, the vocal performances were much better.

You should listen to the studio version of this track. By this stage, you can hear Dany is tired and isn't as vocally strong as she should be.
