Hell yeah baby!! This tune has become one of my faves because of the unrelenting energy that just rocks your face off with that hard-driving "naughty aughties" type melody / riff. It makes you want to sing along even know you know you can't reach those notes, but when you're in a group like that you just belt it out like there's no tomorrow. Which is exactly what happened most of this show, which makes it hard to hear the lyrics, even using the sound from the board. That crowd was so deafening I think the girls even said they had a hard time hearing their click track in their in-ears monitor so Pau said "screw it" and took them out.

These sisters have a great passion in theirs songs. No one is similar to another. Of course Rock is Rock...nothing is invented anymore, but with this kind of intensity The Warning is the great band of this decade... 🤩

Great reaction, I am glad that you give your honest opinion. The 2nd or 3rd time through the album I followed with the lyrics to each song and it gave me a greater appreciation to the story being told. Some of my favorites on the album are yet to come. Thanks again Paul

You nailed the MacBeth reference. I feel very much the same, about the chapters. I really, really love chapter 3, then 4,1 and 2 in that order. Thanks for keeping it honest. 🤘🏻

I appreciate the fact that your reactions are genuine and honest. I saw in the comments of Stalker that it started to grow on you more later on, and I think Red Hands just might too, but then again I could be wrong. Chapter 2 overall took a little while to grow on me, not long, but took more than one listen.
You do seem to be enjoying the album overall. I'm enjoying watching you.

Crowborough Comment: I guess the point of a reaction video is to get first reactions rather than give a review. If reviewing it, it would definitely need a few listen through. I found that it grew on me even whilst editing though. Richard Reply: Yes i knew that was going to be your reply and yes sir i agree with you. That is why i suggested a review not a reaction after you listen to the album three times or more if you like. Something different. You know us Warning fans are like sharks in the music water when it comes to the Warning sisters. But we do respect all opinions. Cheers amigo

Good comments, I like your reactions... Something I realize is the different kind of "influences" or "sounds like" The Warning have included in their songs... System of a Down, Muse, Offspring, Fleetwood Mac?? different flavors in the same album...

Paul, you are awesome! I like how you break things down for why or what you feel or think. That's so cool. You don't try to fake it. I love it, man. Then you blew me away when you made that Offspring reference. SPOT ON! I loved the Offspring a lot during that time period and I had never made that connection even though there's another song coming up that has sort of a punk vibe and when thinking about it my mind drifts to the Offspring. You comments about "Crimson Queen" and the feeling of "Going To California" was also way cool. Great references. This is inspiring for me to hear because to me it puts a good quality stamp to The Warning's music. I love it. Also, on a side note. I think the story in this song was her two sides fighting within her mind. Red hands never fade is a reference that one's evil deeds won't go away or be forgotten. Keep it rolling! You're awesome! I had to subscribe to you channel after today. Good stuff.

If I heard the live versions first of all the songs from QOTMS, I'm not sure I'd love them nearly as much on my first playthrough. But for me, I didn't even listen to it in order, and instead didn't even know it told a story and so I listened to it over a couple days, in between other songs from other bands and songs from XXI Century Blood as well. But, every song I heard I knew I immediately liked, and every subsequent listen of them I loved them even more; I highly suggest you listen to the studio versions since the production is amazing on every song, and the production value doesn't come off as much in their live shows; it's still there, obviously, and they're still extremely talented, but I think I'm someone who prefers the way that the artist envisioned it and was happy with when releasing the official versions most. I love live performances don't get me wrong, and TW blow me away every time I see them, but me being 16 probably makes it harder for me to love live as much as studio; except again for "The One" from the Lunario set, which I like a slight bit more than the studio version... Haha

    • @jbartyparty7398
      @jbartyparty7398 5 лет назад +2

Spot on Riles! The production value of this record is off the charts and it was meant to be blasted at eleven teen in your car jeopardizing your speakers, which I do every time Pau and Ale combine to create a level of "BOOM" that I don't even get with Metallica because they secretly hated Jason Newsted! ;-) j/k or am I? And Justice for All anyone? Always giving short-shrift to the bass man but Lars drums don't always make up for it. That's why Metallica with the SFO is just effin' incredible. Sorry, I digress. But in Paul's defense, these are tough reactions due to the sound not being as "clean" as you would want due to the overwhelming crowd noise. It was a unique circumstance indeed. But once you delve deeper you begin to understand just how well the ladies have been able to replicate their studio sound without a lot of tricks or adding a ghost guitarist off stage. However, upon first listen to the Lunario show, I could see how difficult it might be to pick up nuances and lyrical inflections and tone changes.

It's only varying degrees of awesome when it comes to TW! As long as they can sing such beautiful melodies and harmonize like a polished a cappella group, they will always kick ass. And the music is evolving, along with the technical expertise to augment their natural talent. In other words, they are only getting better and the best is still yet to come, even though many bands would kill to have just one album this good in their career!@@TheUnderdogDe

Well, at this point, the Crimson Queen has murdered her unrequited love. Of course it cannot be undone. Her hands are bloody and that cannot be righted.
She is remorseful and wishes someone would tell her what she can do to atone for this sin. The remaining songs are her fighting with her evil side.

Again a great and honest reaction Paul.
I really like Stalker and RHNF. However, saying so for me songs coming in chapter 3 and 4 are the best else Dust to Dust. You’ve still have one song from Ch2 that you might like, Sacrifice though for me it is more like a gap filler between Ch2 and Ch3. You might think it is strange that we talk in chapters but as they in the Kickstarter campaign released Ch by Ch with 10 days interval many of us see the album as a play in 4 acts
    1- Dust to Dust
    Ch 1
    2 Crimson Queen
    3-Ugh
    4-The One
    Ch2
    5-Stalker
    6-Red Hands Never Fade
    7-Sacrifice
    Ch 3...
    8-Sinister Smile
    9-Dull Knives
    10-Queen of the Murder Scene
    Ch4
    11-P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.
    12-Hunter
    13-The End

Yes, it is a straight forward, straight up rocker of a song. For me it's comparable to Communications Breakdown by Led Zeppelin or Paranoid by Black Sabbath. Not that I'm comparing The Warning to either of those bands, just saying there is nothing wrong with a simple, straight ahead, high tempo rock song.

I don't really know what Paul does. All he does is saying: "this song sounds like this group, and that group and that etc. ", saying "it's a very simple song", humming a bit of the riff or whatever , and other inconsequential comments. Nothing about the performace, the incredible and profound lyrics or anything meaningful. I haven't read much of his reactions, but I bet he doesn´t consider little empty things when reacting to other groups or artists, like if it sounds like this or that. My impression is that he is just looking for something to criticize rather than comment the good things of TW; he is biased, I don´t know why. Anyway, his loss.

99% of the time, music doesn't just "come naturally"; for some, yes. But overall (not like I'd know, as I'm not actually a musician but do make some music... yeah that sounds weird to say but I don't know how to play instruments or anything but I still work on music, albeit only chiptune but still... haha) it takes more than 5 minutes to write a song. In the past, there have been cases of writing an iconic song in like 5 minutes or an hour or whatever, but that's pretty darn rare. It's generally a long process of fine tuning and trying to make the greatest sound/song possible. Even for Dany Pau and Ale, they've essentially been working on Queen of the Murder Scene since 2015 at the least, planning out lyrics and subsequently working on them. QOTMS didn't release until late 2018, so that's like 3-4 years. AKA, the album didn't just "come naturally" to them. But, after a lot of hard work and frustration, it obviously paid off!
