He was the original sound of the Eagles that made them contenders. Too bad he didn’t want the limelight out front. The rest of them are good singers also, but his voice moves you the most.
How in the world can there be 32 disllikes. The greatest vocalist the Eagles ever had. Incredible song. It's horrible the Eagles never performed this live with Randy. Now it's in their playlist as they know it's an incredible song.
Glad to actually hear them do it on The Hotel California tour. They do a decent version but omitting the "gonna try, gonna try, gonna try"...& high notes after "sometimes you need a friend" was disappointing. Vince does a great job but nobody will ever sing it like Randy & am pretty sure that's him harmonizing w himself on the record. I'd like to hear what Timothy B. Schmit sounds like doing it. But again, Randy's work was stellar. Always one of my favorite songs.
For me this song is sent from god. I have probably listened to this great tunage at least 300 times. Anyone who doesn't like this: I don't know what to say.
@@ericr5431 why only 300 times! I bought Hotel California in 1977 but I doubt I could give an accurate count on the number of times I've listened to it. My guess is more than 300!!!
They played it Randy hated doing it every night it Hurt his vocal cords there's a video out there with them pushing Randy. Randy hated the after partys he was a Father and married .the poker chips passed around was a issue also
Randy put the Eagles on the map. It was his vocal in Take it to the limit, that gave the eagle their #1 hit. He was the glue in that band vocally and musically.
"Ooh, the look was in her eyes, You never know what might be found there, She was dancin' right in time, And the moves she made so fine, Like the music that surrounds her." What sweet lyrics! My favorite verse from Randy's lovely song. RIP, Randy ❤
I am not gay but I believe I could kiss Randy, what a voice....My favorite song on the album..WE will never hear anything better than this band IMHO........Best band in my life time......
Randy Meisner was the best singer that the Eagles ever had, the only problem was Henley/ Fry the two dominate ones in the band the others didn’t stand a chance, IMHO.
Pas tout à fait d'accord : Randy Meisner avait des titres sur les disques 'tryin" et "take it to the limit". C'est Don Felder qui n'a pas supporté de ne pouvoir chanter les siens. Henley et Frey se prenaient pour "les chefs".
That’s true but evidently Meisner didn’t want to sing this song or Take to the Limit anymore because he was afraid his voice wasn’t going to hold up with all the high notes like did before. There’s a reason why everyone loves those songs and it’s because their not easy to sing. But it evidently pissed off Frey and Henley so they basically ditched him after they recorded Hotel California. He was probably done touring anyway. But If it’s true that he didn’t want to sing those songs than I think Frey and Henley were right.
was going to give a thumbs up until I saw the more recent pics of the non-Meisner lineups. Really people, show some freaking respect for those that created the music, not just moved in for the substitutions!
Randy Meisner. Timothy B. Schmit is no slouch and instigated a favorite of mine "I Can't Tell You Why" in a sort of R&B feel. Day before yesterday we lost our Randy Meisner (3/8/46-7/26/23), I'm thinking he didn't get all the credit he deserved. Other than his biggest hit, listen to his "Try and Love Again" which is spectacular! Some pics show Timothy and some show Randy in the band. Sometimes I need a friend too....
Happy Birthday Randy Meisner born on March 8, 1946. He is a retired American musician, singer, songwriter and founding member of the American rock band The Eagles. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Meisner
Frey and Henley broke the band and my heart...Randy's high flying tenor and writing were irreplaceable. Walsh? Schmidt? Like George W. trading Sammy Sosa...😲😲😲
I would’ve really liked to see this in a video with Mandy Meisner singing. no such thing on the Internet the best I can come up with is a video of Vince gill. But I also believe that Randy Weiser was really the best singer I’d love this voice Don Henley second glen Frey third Bernie Leaden, Joe Walsh
Randy had an awesome voice and I think sang the best songs of the eagles like this one and take it to the limit but they were all great talents and vocal harmonies like no other band and they all had big egos and all wanted to do it their way that's was the downfall of them all
From a website: The inspiration for “Try and Love Again” stemmed from personal experiences of the band members, particularly Eagles’ guitarist and vocalist Randy Meisner. The song reflects Meisner’s own struggles with heartbreak and his journey toward opening up to love again.
This song did not get a lot of air time back in the day. But it’s so good. Meisner was a great vocalist. One of my favorite Eagles tunes.
He was the original sound of the Eagles that made them contenders. Too bad he didn’t want the limelight out front. The rest of them are good singers also, but his voice moves you the most.
I think he was the best!
Another gem by Randy.
An angelic voice and the nicest guy in rock music. RIP Randy Meisner. Thanks for the music and the memories.
Randy Meisner had a far greater vocal range than did Henley or Frey.
So overlooked and under-appreciated. One of the founding four.
Para mi el mejor Eagle...
Randy had a great voice. R.I.P.
My favorite song from hotel California album

The most beautiful Eagles song. I listen to it over and over again.
It's definitely my favourite Eagles song
Me too I just listened to it recently the Eagles also way after my time I love their music+ their songs!!!!
Same hear. For me the most beautiful song from the Eagles. Randy was unique. Rest in Love!!
Henley and Frye were the power brokers in the band, but Randy was the silent gem that sang several of the biggest hits in the band.
RIP Randy Meisner
RIP Randy. Thank you for this beautiful song.

Honestly going to miss Randy in a very big way
RIP Randy Meisner, thank you for the wonderful music that will live forever!
I wish there was a video of Randy Singing
There is...type in this song again on RUclips...'77 Eagles concert I beleive.
Take it to the limit live
My favorite Eagles song!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤big HEART to you idol RANDY MEISNER..And the EAGLE'S BAND God bless all
Randy Meisner, Rest In Peace and keep rockin' -- March 8, 1946, to July 26, 2023.
The only Eagle to have a song stay on the charts 23 weeks straight and peak at #4 what a legend!
Love that soaring and distinctive voice of Randy Meisner 💕
Yes, his tenor voice was amazing, the passion in his singing unmistakable. He will be missed.
Randy Meisner and the Stone Canyon band at the Troubador in the late 60s is where all this got started. Bless you Randy you will be missed.
"Right or wrong whats done is done its only moments that you borrow" That line hits harddd
What do you mean?
@@TheYamahog12 It basically means I know what Randy meant when he sung that line. It "spoke" to me you may say.
I knew exactly what you meant. The song touches a part of us like no other.
@@TheYamahog12 It means Consequinces for your actions, Be Responsible
@@randomadventures9306I know the song well and of course what that line is about. I didn’t understand why he posted it.
1,673 views and not a single comment for one of the finest tracks and finest vocals, shocking
Randy Meisner, the best singer the Eagles ever had!
I disagree it is Don Henley.
@@janethardy3208 Followed by Timothy B Schmit.
@@jimmason8502No way.
nice video but too many shots of Schmitt instead of Meisner. RIP what a voice.
YES YES YES
Love this song. Best song Eagles ever recorded. Randy was the best of all of the Eagles.

His voice is soulful ❤
This is a great song. Randy Meisner was incredible.
Love you Randy with your golden voice - you too Bernie - I will never stop listening to the original band
Remember the original band but it wasn't until Don Felder and Joe Walsh joined that they became one of the very best bands the world has seen.
Randy's voice makes me still believe in love.
That voice - perfect
Eagles best song ever. Sung by the incredible founding member Randy Meisner.
He was really good
One of the best Eagle songs EVER!!!
Agreed. It's probably my favorite Eagles song. It touches the soul. Goosebumps and watery eyes every time I hear it.
How could I have forgotten about this song?? Was one of my favorite tracks off the album :)
Am remembering Randy. The nicest man who did such a great job. Always..
Best eagle song
Thank you. A very beautiful interpretation of an amazing song. Well done!
I am on my own ....memories find me always....beautiful song Randy Meisner💞
I can truly relate to that verse
Beautiful line, beautiful song
RIP Randy
😢💌
Randy had the best voice overall. He could easily sing a lot of their material. All but Dirty Laundry.
if only these boys could have settled their differences so talented so volatile but so magical just love them
The guitars harmonizing during the las chorus still brings chills...
Randy Meisner was the best singer that the Eagles ever had, the only problem was Henley/ Fry the two dominate ones in the band the others didn’t stand a chance, IMHO.
I totally agree with you...those two egos destroyed the Eagles!

No denying a great singer, but tired of the road and the commercialism of the music industry
Meisner was an incredible singer, but his shyness kept him singing much in concert.
I love this .music and everything they fo .i love .y EAGLES !

The Eagles at their best, but they chose something else 😴
It hurts, but it gets better
