I wanted to say this really helped since I tend to grab my controller to hard due to tense situations. Although the intro was a little cheesy; the advise is useful and I would recommend this to people even if they don't play games and just have aches in their arms. I plan to use a lot so I don't have to take as many breaks. Thank you! :)
Glad they helped.

My hand gets Numb and pinky finger pains mild while playing games will this be useful for that or shall I visit a docotr
I recently retired as Editor in Chief of a mainstream news website, which meant that I spent most of my time sitting at a computer and typing for eight to 10 hours a day, six days a week, for years. In my spare time, I played and reviewed MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) on both PC and consoles, which put even more strain on my back, shoulders, hands, and wrists. Until I retired, I usually slept about four to six hours a night, and I was always tired, grumpy, and sore.
Although I am proficient at Yoga (I can get into the lotus position without even using my hands, and I can still put both feet behind my neck at 68-years-old), but I never made use of Yoga or stretching as part of an exercise routine during my working days. I was always "too busy," which was, in reality, an excuse for misaligned priorities. Our health and well-being should actually be one of our top priorities.
Now that I am retired, I have more time to take care of my health, and I have added stretching and Yoga to my daily routine, along with walking my 120 lb. pit bull / Brazilian mastiff cross four or five times a day. We walk at a brisk pace (with occasional stops for his "business" or digging holes), and each walk is at least 15 minutes, with some walks lasting over an hour if the weather is good. I also play online games daily as my primary source of entertainment and relaxation, and I do experience occasional hand and / or wrist pain. I tried your stretches, and they do help. I will definitely be using your stretching program in my daily routine from now on. Many thanks for your insightful suggestions.
You're welcome. I'm glad they are helping.
That elastic band one really helped. Felt my fingers get loose from a sore real quick after a couple streches.
Wow. Amazing. I have had so many different muscle stretch questions from back to now my wrists and Dr.Jo's videos pop up with a simple search and save the day

Any difference with double jointed thumbs ?
With an injury, or just to help strengthening them in general?
AskDoctorJo well idk my thumb feels weaker than it used to. I’ve been playing a lot of games recently and my thumb just gets sore after an hour of play used to be able to play all day. I was wondering if it was simply bc I play too much or maybe with a double jointed thumb you gotta hold the controller different or something lol I just don’t wanna give up gaming but I will if it means I don’t get carpal tunnel (if I don’t already have it lmao) I feel it the most moving the right joystick to the left if that helps you diagnose
It probably is just an overuse injury, especially if you haven't had the problem before. I think the above video is worth trying consistently for a few weeks to see if it helps.
AskDoctorJo should I stop gaming for a few weeks too or just do these alongside?
AskDoctorJo also the stretch at 4:40 is hard to do bc I’m double jointed I just keep pulling thumb too far back
Are this exercises good for people who type and text a lot?
Yes, they should help for that too. Good luck.
Dr Jo your really great
Thanks.
