I've had wrist pain for about a year now. Asked my primary physician how to treat it and all he could say is "be sure to stretch before and after working out" which wasn't even the root of my problem. This 12 minute video gave me instant relief like I haven't felt in a very long time. God bless you and thanks for making such valuable knowledge free to the public!
Thank you so much for this ! I’ve had such bad wrist pain for two years. I followed this for the first 3 mins and already feel so much relief in my wrist.
@@AskDoctorJo I need some advice, I believe I have forearm Tendonosis. I have pain and a burning sensation in the middle of my forearms going up to fingers on both hands. And every time I move my fingers or open and close my hands to grab something or whatever it hurts in my forearms. How am I supposed to rest both of my hands/fingers when I have to use them on a daily basis to function?
I've played this video probably 50 times so far. You are my exercise buddy as I do these series of exercises in getting my wrist back to normal from tennis injury. But I always have to play it all the way to the very end to see my buddy with the wagging tail. :-)
Oh my gosh - I have had a TON of pain in my wrists and forearms due to tendinitis, but not even halfway through this video I notice that I’m not hurting. There’s no pain!
Tnak you SOOOO much for these exercises. The back of my wrist was in so much pain i could barely lift a spoon. It got even worse the next day and I had no idea what was wrong with my hand. I googled possibilities and got information that the condition may last for 6 months to 2 years. I decided to watch your video and completed the exercises and kid you not. I started gaining strength right after. The very next day my wrist was back to normal. I am so grateful to u. I also did ur exercised for frozen shoulder about 3 weeks ago when I could barely lift my arm up while shaking so bad and hurting. After your exercises the 2nd day was much better and the 3rd day I was almost 100% back to normal. Simply amazing.
I've had wrist pain on and off for years, especially when serving. But now I have a 5 month old baby I'm always picking up and it got so bad my thumb would lock up. I just woke up today and did this before getting out of bed and can move my thumb much better. Hooray! I can go change a diaper now!
I'm three months into a tendinitis work injury. My insurance and doctors have really taken their time getting anything done, and this is the first exercises I have been able to do. Very grateful for your help
My wrist hasn't felt this good in 25 years! This morning when my wrist nearly caused me to drop my coffee as I lifted the mug to my lips, I told myself this can't be life. I searched and fortunately came across your video, thank you so much. I see great relief in my future.
I’m in my seventies and have begun learning guitar. My fretting wrist (left) hurt so much I have had to have very short practice sessions. I’ve been doing these stretches with you for 2 days and my wrist pain has subsided. It’s still tender but it’s clearly healing. I have much more comfortable practice sessions now. Thank you!
Wow man you are such a saviour! I have had wrist pain for close to 3 years which usually comes and goes. I feel so much better now. These are simple and so effective
You are amazing! Thank you so much, you saved my wrist and hand from excruciating pain that I've been experiencing for the past year or so, & over the past 3 weeks it was becoming unbearable. I just watched your video and followed everything and instantly I'm feeling relief. All my doctor did was give me a brace and tell me to ice my wrist and rest it. Bless you 🙏🏽💗

You are amazing Dr Jo! Not only your exercises are simple with alternatives, they provide instant pain relief. Thanks for impacting bad improving my life from pain!
I want to say thanks. Sincere thank you for this help. I've had acute tendonitis for nearly two years from a repetitive work injury. At times i could hardly pour a cup of tea my grip was so weakened. Even tiny tasks like washing hands and handling the remote were excruciating. Driving? Pain. It came and went and i never knew what might trigger a complete agonizing relapse. After investigating i came across this video and in three days i am at least 95% better. Still a little sore and tenderness, but nowhere near the pain i had four days ago. Incredible. It is demoralizing to live through this type of pain and not knowing if it will ever go away. Now i have optimism that the end of this ordeal is near. Not out of the woods yet, but what a turnaround. Maybe someone in a similar situation will find this and rebound as i have. Can't thank you enough. This works. Do it. Never give up.
Thank you SO much for posting these stretches / strengthening exercises. They have saved me from having to give up my dental hygienist career, as well as my hobby of crocheting 🧶
I'm seeing a great doctor for left shoulder/neck pain (she said my head thinks it needs my shoulder to hold it up... whatevs) but my carpal recently started tunneling in my left had and she told me to google some exercises bc she hasn't treated it in a while. That gave me a great reason to come back here. Your Costochondritis video were SUPER helpful! Your carpal tunnel video is pretty dynamite too! Keep'em coming! The internet is still undefeated!!!
Hey Dr. Joe, I work as a CNA in a nursing home. I have been dealing with intermittent pain from wrist tendonitis for almost a year now along with a dime sized lump on my wrist. So, I started watching your wrist stretching videos last week and since then the pain is nearly gone and the lump has shrunk to where it's barely noticeable. Thank you so much.

Oh my gosh!!! I’ve given myself wrist tendinitis from crocheting, and have been so worried that I won’t be able to continue my favorite hobby & side business. I’ve been doing stretches on my own and trying out different wrist workouts, but even after watching this once, I feel SO much better. I actually feel all of the right muscles getting stretched and worked out. I had really bad pain in my wrist because of using my computer's mouse incorrectly, I couldn't bend my wrist upwards or downwards without feelings sharp pain. Wow I can’t believe how helpful this video was, I only excercised for the duration of the video and my wrist feels so much better. Still a long way to get better but with regular practice I’ll be in the right track
This program took me from a repetitive grip-related wrist injury at work to closing IronMind’s 1.5 CoC gripper in a week. Unreal. Dr. Jo you are doing an army’s work.
Ok wow i have to leave you a thank you comment because i went into this doubting you and i feel soooo much better already. I stopped at 6min into the video to write this, also because my wrist hurts too much for any strength training yet but man i hurt it real bad at work the other day (electrician, we have to play contortionists sometimes) and discovered it was acute tendonitis. Your stretches are incredible for it!!! Thanks again :)
I injured my wrist years ago as a teen when doing laundry (heavy stuffed shirt, my hand bent a way it shouldn't have), and I also happen to draw a lot, so I've had a lot of wrist pain for years. I did some of these (gotta get some of the extra stuff), I instantly felt better. Thanks so much for this! It feels so much better after a couple of satisfying cracks. :)
Thanks Dr Jo! I've been waiting for referral to a physio for ages, so I'm glad I found this video. Already feeling a less stiff in the hand after a short round of exercises, so thank you. Your t-shirt is awesome btw
Thanks very much, have experienced wrist pain for 4 months now but watching your video whilst following your wrist workout,I'm amazed with the relief. Thanks you
Wow thank you this really helped! I've been in pain for about 2 weeks now, I've tried just about everything from icing it, heating pad, wrist guards, advil etc, and nothing helped, I've done this exercise once and already feel alot better :) I'm going to do this at least 1x a day and I hope my wrist will go back to normal again.
I was having so much pain today in my wrist from my tendonosis, and although it still hurts, it definitely already feels better from following along to the video, thank you!!
My wrist tendonitis is for a long time now very severe and I was sceptical about so many positive comments. I have been doing this for 3 days and I see massive difference. So much so that I even played badminton yesterday. Long way to go still but man this is extremely helpful. Thank you so much for making these videos, you are helping me and lots others.
That was really helpful. I just followed her while watching this video and there was an immediate relief to some extent. U are amazing!! Thanks a lot for this
This literally cut my pain down to almost nothing while doing it. I have no idea what’s wrong with my wrists but they hurt and crack so bad all the time it’s nice to learn these stretches.
Thank you so much, I’ve had tendinitis for about five days now, and before I did this exercise It hurt a lot. Now it feels better thank you so much. 😄😃
As a fellow DPT creating written content, I love using your videos for explanation videos. No matter what I want to cover.. I can pretty much always rely on you having a thorough explanation. Thanks for that! Makes my job easier :)
You really should be seeing a professional physical therapist. I broke my shoulder a couple years ago and was told it would never be the same. My PT proved them wrong.
My right wrist has been off and on with pain for years. I am a teacher, and I use my laptop frequently due to checking emails, grading, etc. However, this video has truly helped in relieving my wrist! Thank you so much!

I've watched so many of your videos over the years and a long time subscriber. You have helped me a lot with various aches and pains. Thank you for posting these and for all your cute doggies. Great to see Bear is still doing well after all these years ❤
Man, this is so helpful. I injured myself from working out 4 months ago and the pain lasted quite a while. Even after heating it with a hot water pack throughout that time, the recovery process was very gradual and slow. These exercises really help with relieving the stress, especially once you start adding more weight and getting comfortable with it
I quit three-forths of the way through because my hand and wrist pain was gone and I did not want to overdue it (something that I am prone to do), and because I had just worked through Dr. Jo's video on releaving hand pain before starting Dr. Jo's wrist tendonitis video. I will work up to the full wrist tendonitis video but the two videos have already provided relief for my achy hands and wrists. Thank you Dr. Jo!
Wow...i am having this pain from 3 months now. wasnt stretching or exercising due to fear of further damaging it and even docs suggest to rest it out. I saw this video, did the movements alongside ...and damn i got immediate relief. Thanks so much❣
Anti-inflammatory meds only cure the symptom (pain). They do not assist in healing, and honestly are actually even detrimental to your healing. Firstly you’re masking the pain and don’t really know the progress happening in your problem, plus you don’t know what activities you’re doing which are effecting your tendon in a negative way because you can’t feel the pain, your body has no way of telling you somethings wrong. So you end up damaging the tendon even more. And lastly, inflammation is the body response to bring blood flow to the area which helps with healing, taking it away takes healing even longer, especially with an area like a tendon which has little blood supply to begin with. Also those meds aren’t good for your stomach either.
I have tendinitis because of my job. Been off work for a week will try this I hope it works, as I think I will have to have another week off, nice video and very informative

Excellent! These are very subtle, yet very effective stretches and exercises for a painful wrist! I went rock climbing 3 times and my thumb developed pain over several months afterwards, like a knife sticking in the base of my thumb. I talked to a physical therapist who showed me all of Dr. Jo's helpful ways to cure it, and so far it's working. Best of all, I get instant relief from the stretches, and can feel the strength training helping in the long run. Thanks Dr Jo!
Very helpful video, due to repetaive movements at work I just recently started having wrist pain, weakness and limited range of motion, thanks to your video I'm feeling better . Now doing the stretching and exercises everyday.
This is such a helpful video Dr. Jo, thank you so much for your expertise. I have so much rest pain relief I watch your videos whenever I have a bodily injury.
Using the computer both for work and hobbies has begun to pay its toll on me this year. I will definitely incorporate these exercises into my daily routine, I got a good amount of instant relief from them!
This is so helpful! I'm pretty sure I have tendonitis but I didn't want to spend the money for a doctor to tell me to stretch it and ice it. So I looked on RUclips for some stretching and I just did it once and it feels a little bit better already. I'm so excited to keep working on this and improving my wrist. Thank you so much.
Sister, I'm literally like to cry now. The wrist pain tasted my patience for almost one month now. Still 40% of pain exists. Can you please let me know by when I will be completely fine by doing your exercises? Thanks 🙏
You should be evaluated by your doctor or get a referral to a physical therapist who can evaluate you personally. There are tons of different reasons why someone could have wrist pain and Dr. Jo is just giving general examples of things people can do to help alleviate their symptoms.
@@thelionwantstoroar oh that’s so good! Glad you feel better! Now if I can just get my wrist pain to go away 😂 the new year is going to have a few doctor appointments for me if these stretches don’t help 😅
@@melodyj2049 To be honest with you I did not follow the exercises shown in this video because it was hurting even more that way. All what I did is that I ate a lot of bone marrows with its soup every alternate day after one of my aunts suggested me. Also I used wrists bands to keep my wrists steady to not to get hurt especially when I am asleep. And I was using my hands very delicately when needed like having water, food, etc. You may also follow the same steps which may help you recover faster. One small advice - Don't do any stretching exercises at all! It will worsen the condition. May you recover faster! Good luck!!
At first, i thought this wont work, because i had lot of tutorials that didn't help, but i can't believe this one work, my right hand hurts when i try to shoot a ball, this stops to hurts but come back, thank you!!!

I draw regularly and I've been having chronical wrist pain for some time now, x rays done a few years ago showed nothing and my doctor just said to draw less :C I found this today, and my wrist does feel better, but when going up and down; 9.00 in the video, it makes a funny sound when it reaches the top every time, it got me worried cause i don't know what it is, not really a pop, it doesn't really hurt, but it makes me uncomfortable. Thank you in advanced!
You're welcome! It could be a number of things, but if it's not painful, it's probably nothing to be worried about. I would try not going to the point of the sound, so try to stop right before it when going up. Good luck.
I was recently diagnosed with a ganglion cyst in my left wrist after years of pain. I start physical therapy in a few weeks but I’ll be using this video everyday until then. Thank you
You can do them 2-3 times a day. For the exercises, I would just start off with 10 reps, and slowly build up from there if they don't increase pain. Good luck.
Thank you so much!! I started off with tendonitis in my left wrist after mowing my lawn last spring, fingers ended up the size of hot dogs. No idea why. Then, by the end of summer, because I was doing everything with my right hand, I ended up with tendonitis in my right wrist. Both are on the mend; therefore, finding the exercises and stretches to help my wrists finish healing and strengthening is amazing!!!

You're welcome!
This helped me better understand an issue I’ve been dealing with for over a decade.
Thanks Dr Jo! I've been waiting for referral to a physio for ages, so I'm glad I found this video. Already feeling a less stiff in the hand after a short round of exercises, so thank you. Your t-shirt is awesome btw
You're welcome, and thanks! Good luck.
Thanks very much, have experienced wrist pain for 4 months now but watching your video whilst following your wrist workout,I'm amazed with the relief. Thanks you
You're welcome.
You're welcome!
Any Update?
has your wrist felt better ?
I was having so much pain today in my wrist from my tendonosis, and although it still hurts, it definitely already feels better from following along to the video, thank you!!
You're welcome!
I now do this every time I want to exercise
Yeah it hurts when you do Push ups
@@mrnoone8042 hurts like f*ckkk
My wrist tendonitis is for a long time now very severe and I was sceptical about so many positive comments. I have been doing this for 3 days and I see massive difference. So much so that I even played badminton yesterday. Long way to go still but man this is extremely helpful. Thank you so much for making these videos, you are helping me and lots others.
You're welcome. I'm glad they are helping.
That was really helpful. I just followed her while watching this video and there was an immediate relief to some extent. U are amazing!! Thanks a lot for this
Thanks, and you're welcome.
I admire how she's still active through comments still after almost 7 years of video posted...
Thank You for the help, you're great DoctorJo🍀
You're welcome, and thanks!
Thank you for your help. Your dog made my day too.
You're welcome!
This literally cut my pain down to almost nothing while doing it. I have no idea what’s wrong with my wrists but they hurt and crack so bad all the time it’s nice to learn these stretches.
Glad they helped.
Thank you so much, I’ve had tendinitis for about five days now, and before I did this exercise It hurt a lot. Now it feels better thank you so much. 😄😃
You're welcome.
As a fellow DPT creating written content, I love using your videos for explanation videos. No matter what I want to cover.. I can pretty much always rely on you having a thorough explanation. Thanks for that! Makes my job easier :)
Thanks, and you're welcome!
I broke my wrist really bad on December 31, 2019. You are a blessing! Thank you for your service
Thanks, and you're welcome.
You're welcome!
This is amazing, just what i was looking for. Thanks so much. Do you have any recommended stretches for a compressed ulnar nerve?
Thanks, and you're welcome. I do: ruclips.net/video/UY97v4WxrzI/видео.html I also have one for cubital tunnel syndrome if that's where it's compressed.
Now I will see you daily for this.
thank you doc
You're welcome.
Thank you for your help. I struggled with wrist injury for months, and even my physio's exercise didn't help. Your did :)
You're welcome! I'm glad they helped.
Thanks! These really help! Im a massage therapist and some days my hands whoop me by the end of the day. Just did these stretches and wrist excercises and feel so much better
You're welcome! I'm glad they helped.
The exercise with the rubber band is amazing!!!
Thank you very much.
You're welcome!
I have had the first pain-free day in months. Thank you
You're welcome.
Thank you so much, I play video games everyday. And I started to develop some pain in my mouse hand. Thank you for theroughly explaning everything so well.
You're welcome.
I love Jesus too, bro... and video games.
I've watched so many of your videos over the years and a long time subscriber. You have helped me a lot with various aches and pains. Thank you for posting these and for all your cute doggies. Great to see Bear is still doing well after all these years ❤
You're welcome. 🐾 🧸
Man, this is so helpful. I injured myself from working out 4 months ago and the pain lasted quite a while. Even after heating it with a hot water pack throughout that time, the recovery process was very gradual and slow.
These exercises really help with relieving the stress, especially once you start adding more weight and getting comfortable with it
Glad they are helping.
Jo!
You're welcome!
Wow...i am having this pain from 3 months now. wasnt stretching or exercising due to fear of further damaging it and even docs suggest to rest it out. I saw this video, did the movements alongside ...and damn i got immediate relief. Thanks so much❣
You're welcome.
Wow thank you so much! I’ve been developing some wrist tendinitis from bouldering, and these exercises produced immediate improvement.
You’re welcome!
Instant relief!!! How long generally until the pain is eliminated? Rest, ice...anti-inflammatory meds as well?
Began this video with my wrist feeling sore and numb, tried some of the first exercises and already felt immediate relief
I have tendinitis because of my job. Been off work for a week will try this I hope it works, as I think I will have to have another week off, nice video and very informative
Thanks. Good luck.
Same here. I am trying to suffer through it because I need my job.
My husband is going through this now. Hes had pain for months. He took his vacation week but it's still not healed and he needs his job. Dont know what to do he says it hurts to much to try to do the exercises
Hi Doc. l followed your video on tennis elbow and it cured me. Now l'm back, lol because l had a small motorcycle accident and hurt my wrist. Started your exercises this morning and felt some relieve after l was done. You're awesome :)
Thanks! Glad they are helping.
Thank you so much jo. Since from one week I was suffering from wrist pain, still i didn't start. I did only 2-3streatches feeling do relax.
You're welcome! I'm glad they are helping.
Very helpful video, due to repetaive movements at work I just recently started having wrist pain, weakness and limited range of motion, thanks to your video I'm feeling better . Now doing the stretching and exercises everyday.
Thanks, and you're welcome. I'm glad they are helping.
This is such a helpful video Dr. Jo, thank you so much for your expertise. I have so much rest pain relief I watch your videos whenever I have a bodily injury.
You're welcome. I'm glad it's helping.
The first movement hurts me but i love the rest
Using the computer both for work and hobbies has begun to pay its toll on me this year. I will definitely incorporate these exercises into my daily routine, I got a good amount of instant relief from them!
Glad it helped.
Wow by the time I got to the can exercise my wrist didn't hurt anymore
This is so helpful! I'm pretty sure I have tendonitis but I didn't want to spend the money for a doctor to tell me to stretch it and ice it. So I looked on RUclips for some stretching and I just did it once and it feels a little bit better already. I'm so excited to keep working on this and improving my wrist. Thank you so much.
You're welcome. Glad it's helping.
Nice Doc thanks and cute dog
Thanks!
Had horrible pain for several days and after 2-3 days of doing these I feel great! Thanks so much.
You're welcome.
Sister, I'm literally like to cry now. The wrist pain tasted my patience for almost one month now. Still 40% of pain exists. Can you please let me know by when I will be completely fine by doing your exercises? Thanks 🙏
same please give me an answer !!!
You should be evaluated by your doctor or get a referral to a physical therapist who can evaluate you personally. There are tons of different reasons why someone could have wrist pain and Dr. Jo is just giving general examples of things people can do to help alleviate their symptoms.
@@melodyj2049 I am fine now, fortunately
Good luck!!
I feel very much relieved after doing these exercises for two days. Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
I am finishing up the stretches and my wrist feels fatigued already. I'll rest and ice for now and try again tomorrow
At first, i thought this wont work, because i had lot of tutorials that didn't help, but i can't believe this one work, my right hand hurts when i try to shoot a ball, this stops to hurts but come back, thank you!!!
You're welcome!
I forgot to mention, love the T Shirt. 😺
Thanks!
I've been dealing with tendonitis since about right before christmas and I've been following RICE but these exercises finally made some pain go away!! Thank you for sharing this!
You're welcome!
Hello doc, i want to ask, may I do this exercise when I am in acute phase of tendonitis? Thanks before.
I am in that state since 2 days high inflammationnamd pain going to my ellbow. How you get rid of it? Any medication needed?
The best video for wrists I’ve seen! Thank you very much.
Thanks, and you're welcome!
Thanks for the video! Saving Ortho patients money lol
You're welcome :-)
Working with toddlers requires a lot of lifting and movement. My tendonitis was making it incredibly difficult, but this exercise has been a game-changer. Thank you Dr.Jo ❤
You're welcome.
Is it normal to feel cracking at the wrist when doing the first exercise? I only have pain on one wrist because I injured it while punching the bag
Exactly my problem and mine cracks 2
I injured mine on mine wall and it hurts
Mine is cracking too when doing the second exercise. Got it from playing guitar
same bro i injured my wrist boxing
@Jerry Hernandez did this end up working for you?
It was very logical and I like it when doctors explain why for an advice. Thank You!!!
You're welcome!
Thank you
You're welcome. Good luck.
How many repetitions and how often do you do these per day? I will be pleased to hear from you - thank you, Karen UK.
You're welcome!
