August, I discovered the PPV system you've built maybe what, 3 years ago. I decided to continue my way, what a complexe system I was saying to myself! I tried many other templates, many other ways to reach my goals in life. But a year ago, I had time and decided to come back to the PPV. I've listened to all your videos at least once, pausing, going back x minutes to re-listen to something you said or shown, and I build the system, learn a lot on the platform, but the most important, I achieved so much in the last year!!! I'm so impressed by myself, by what I was able to do, on my personal goal, my career goal! And today, seeing this new enhancement of Notion, and your video, wow! I was so excited when I learned Notion was planning to launch the charts!! I really thank you for all the knowledge, wisdom and learning from your personal observation and life that you share on your channel, this is such a big, big life changer. I cannot thank you enough! Thank you for the knowledge, thank you for all ! ❤❤
Amazing, Guillaume! Thank you so much for sharing this feedback of your story and your journey. It means so much to me to hear this. Congrats on all your progress - you earned it and you made those things happen in life. That doesn't happen on its own - that was your hard work and your deliberate, intentional approach. Huge congratulations to you. I hope you'll consider joining one of the new Notion Life Design programs we're launching soon. You're exactly the kind of person who flourishes in them - your mindset, your attitude, your momentum. This is what we harness in the full Notion Life Design programs. And when we relaunch them, they're not only going to be greatly enhanced, but we're bringing the pricing and economics down to make them much more accessible. I hope you'll consider it. But regardless, amazing work. You made my day with your story here and I'm grateful that you shared it with me. And finally, yes, Charts are awesome. It took them a long time, but they're here and they're wonderful. Onward!
@@trestle_accounting Ha! I can't wait either, this is going to be a real next-level enhancement. Okay, here's the scoop. September we're launching something big but different than the main flagship NLD program (in 2 or 3 weeks). Some people will find it a valuable stepping stone to NLD. Then In October or early November at the very latest, we launch the full flagship NLD program. It is happening, it is close, and it will be worth the wait! Thanks so much for your interest.
I’ve been on the fence about upgrading to Notion plus for the new charts (the free plan has been plenty enough for me so far), but after watching this video, I upgraded immediately.. they got me😂 Amazing addition to PPV, can’t wait to dive into this!
I can see this being an upgrade decision point for a lot of people. It's really the first major feature that required an upgrade - with the possible exception of AI. But this is a block-level feature, and we've never seen that restricted to paid plans. If I had been on a free plan, this would have had me upgrading too. Congrats on getting it up and running in action so quickly! Lots more big exciting things to come. Notion has announced that forms will be released soon as well.
I think, like you mentioned, having charts surface in various contexts (weekly, monthly, etc.) is very powerful and I'll definitely be making use of it. Also helps to give the PPV system that aesthetic feel I've been looking for. Great video as always!
Thanks! Yeah, Notion always felt a bit lacking without visuals. And while we could embed images, charts and graphs just provide so much more value than most images. Definitely a major upgrade. It's fun to have all of us excited about new things like this.
This is so exciting! I only discovered the PPV Notion Life OS a bit over a week ago and am still building it from the RUclips videos and now I get to add in charts 🤩 Thank you August for all the free content and look forward to learning about your upcoming courses (I’ve signed up for your newsletter 😊).
That's awesome! It's a great time to find us with the major relaunch and enhancement of both the system and the program coming up soon. I'm happy you're a part of our community and can't wait to explore further together 🚀
Folks like you are lucky. I did it years ago as he was putting... +pause+ out... +pause+ each... +pause+ video. Took ages. In hindsight, I DEF would've waited 'til the series was done. It's pretty much worth it now but took an impatient wife leaving me in the process and a lot of tweaking over the years.
Great point! As template creators, we should definitely offer two options for our premium templates: one with charts and one without. This way, everyone gets what they need! Oh man, there are so many updates I need to make with all these new features Notion added. 😅 Time to roll up my sleeves and get to work!
Yeah, it definitely makes it a little tricky. There'll be so many great uses for charts, but you also want the people getting the template to be able to take full advantage. I've given them feedback that I think it should function more like database automations - where you use charts in a template you duplicate, but can't add or create them on the free plan. That seems like a better midpoint. But it is what it is. And the lower price plans are quite affordable, so it's a viable choice for anyone who values charts.
Hey August, still haven't watched the entire video, but I want to tell you... I'm eagerly looking forward to your paid offerings, since I got so much value from using the PPV Notion LifeOS. I'm in your newsletter but haven't heard much from you there, so this is exciting news for me! Can't wait to see how valuable your paid resources will be :) I've been getting a lot of use with the PPV Notion LifeOS for the past month. Thank you again for making that playlist free :)
That's awesome to hear, Noah. I can't wait to work with you in the program. This next version of the program is going to be so much more enhanced - by far the best iteration we've ever done. I'm incredibly excited about it. Yes, I've been quite slow on the newsletter, but that's getting back on track too. It's all coming together, and we'll continue to build across each of these fronts as we go. It makes me so happy to hear that your PPV system has been valuable and put to good use. Keep up the awesome work! Big things to come.
Love the idea of a Daily Data Tracker! The charts do a much better job at helping you visualize your progress over a long period of time vs just seeing all the date in a table. Will definitely be incorporating into my system. I'm struggling to wrap my head around the difference between % On Schedule and % Output. From your descriptions: % On Schedule is the Percent of time that we stayed on schedule for what we planned the night before. At the end of the day rate what percent of your time you spent that day doing the things that you planned to do. And % Output is what percent of the work that we planned to get done today did we actually accomplish. May be the way it's been worded? Also for tracking these things in Daily Tracker, at the end of each day are you entering the % manually as a Number Property? Or is it calculated automatically depending on tasks marked as Done divided by total tasks scheduled to do?
I agree, I love this dashboard too, and it reveals so much so efficiently. You have those two percentage metrics exactly right. The evening before you plan the next day. Then, at the end of the day, you look at what percent of the things you intended to complete you actually completed - that's output. Separately, you look at what percent of the time you spent on the things you scheduled compared to distractions - that's the percent on schedule. It tells you two different things that together are super informative. In part, they tell you whether you're being overly ambitious or realistic in your planning. I'm entering those manually at the end of the day. It only takes one second, and it's super valuable to force you to reflect and think about the day. It's not friction, it's a significant value-add moment that I take to wrap up each day. I highly encourage it.

PS they have TEAL as an option- does that mean that will be applied across the rest of Notion like I've been requesting for years????
Well done building your system out. I'm glad the timing was good on this one. It really is a big new step, unleashing a lot of possibilities. I'm really glad the video was helpful. Thank you for your feedback. Yeah, it's interesting - some new colors. I have no idea how that will translate across the system. It certainly opens the possibility. Amazing and thank you a lot! Instantly upgraded my Life Operating System and am really looking forward to your course! I have implemented everything in your videos but am wondering how I can do it even better. Do you already have plans when to launch the new LifeOS?
Excellent, Johannes! Great to hear you're putting it into action already. I'm also excited to hear that you're interested in the new program. It's going to be totally next level - by far the best thing we've ever done and the biggest enhancement since the original launch. The big new Notion Life Design relaunch will be somewhere between late September, or October at the very latest - though we're really pushing for the second half of September. There's just so much we're putting into it. We're also going to have a smaller offering launched in the next few weeks for a lower-tier program, so keep your eyes out for that. If you're on the email list at this link, you'll get all the updates as soon as we start announcing - which won't be long now. www.NotionLifeDesign.com I can't wait to work with you in the program! really thankful for your work ab! i have been using the ppv system for a couple of years now and this chart update will definitely make tracking more visual, especially now that i have also recreated the life pulse dashboard you showed according to my needs! one issue i'm currently facing tho - although i have been loving how my knowledge vault has been growing and updating over time, i still feel it does not fully link ideas or i may miss out given the fact that over time the knowledge vault grows too big. have also started looking at obsidian for pkm as it allows for linking of ideas abit more intuitively(?), mainly for notes as i will still have videos/articles/podcast etc stored in my media vault but at the same time the thought of having to juggle two applications doesn't really entice me... if i were to go ahead with making notes in apple notes/obsidian, was wondering what the folder structure would be outside of notion? i get the pillars are a form of categorisation so they can be the top level folder, but was wondering what would then go next in line? would it be projects? or knowledge vaults?
Awesome, thank you for the feedback. I love hearing that your PPV system has been put to good use. For sure, I think the charts are a worthwhile upgrade. There are, of course, pros and cons with each app. No app does everything, and is perfect for all situations. But I wouldn't worry about a knowledge vault or media vault getting too big. A lot of resources are captured or created and then never needed again, and that's fine. They disappear and become invisible. However, the ones that are needed again are there. If you attach the proper tagging and links when you first capture it - particularly to the knowledge vault topics - then it will resurface in context when you need it. And if you don't need it, that's fine. It did its job by being there just in case and then disappearing. But the ones you do need will be there when you need them. Obsidian has other benefits, particularly with serendipitous discovery, but I do believe Notion has better organization for deliberate and intentional action - while perhaps sacrificing on the accidental discoveries. Notion is good for remembering what you need to remember is in your system when you need it. Again, if you're tagging to the knowledge vault topics. Then additionally, there's the issue with Notion of it being able to connect to your project and task manager, your habits and routine design, and your higher-level life aspirations - all connecting with your media and knowledge vaults. That, to me, is the killer aspect of Notion - the connectivity and fueling and cross-informing across the system. But each person needs to decide for themselves what they value most. There are no right or wrong answers.
The daily tracking tickers seem like the heavy hitters of this feature. Would be keen to see a revamped Habits and Routines video that builds on the one from three years ago with any new thinking and ties in the charts aspect... if you're taking requests :)
Good thought, thanks for the suggestion. Definitely open to ideas. I'm rebuilding a lot of parts of the system, so I'll see how much evolution the latest version has had and take a look back to the original version, then get a sense of how far it's come. I suspect you're right. It's got a lot of evolution and is totally worth covering again. Really appreciate the feedback!
I've been playing around with the charts, is there a way to adjust the Y-axis in line charts? Like if I want to build a weight tracker, I would be interested in only from 80kg and up, but the chart start from 0, which makes it quite limited in use, as the actual figures would be crammed to the top of the chart, with changes from one value to another would be minimal.
Yeah, I wish we could do that - but no, that's not possible right now. What I would suggest is entering a field for your target number and then creating a formula that calculates the difference between the current level and your target. Then, create the chart based on the difference between the target and your current level working your way to zero difference between the two. That'll give you a more dynamic visual representation. Hope that helps!
@@augustbradley I went with that route. I created a formula that calculates the difference between my current weight and my target weight. This gives me a nice visualisation of my status.
This one would be hard to make into a template because it connects to so many different databases across a much larger system. Without the connection to the database, you can't create the chart. So there's no real way to have this as a separate template outside of the larger system - though that larger system is available as part of our Notion Life Design training at www.NotionLifeDesign.com (join the wait list if interested, relaunching soon).
Slider progress bar formulas are not needed anymore. Now, you can set visual depictions - either round or lined progress bars - in the number format setting in the database. It's built into Notion now.
