While recoding this, the producer said he didn't like and it will never be memorable. Ronnie(singer) escorted him to his car and said you are done for the day. Then went in and the band finished the song.
These guys have convinced me that my old view that there is “white” music and “black” music was wrong: there’s only music that means something to you or doesn’t. How great is it that these guys love this song - it blows away my stereotypes. Thank God.
Music is universal in bringing people together. I have been to concerts outside of the United States where there were different races and different languages, and for those moments when we are all vibing to the music, nothing else matters but the music.
It's my passtime when wife is off to bed. Seeing people hear things they are obviously clueless about...n these guys...start out by saying Shout out to FREE thinkers. Love these guys and NoLifeShaq for totally different reactions but same principle. Thx for sharing
My husband's mom used to play this song for him, and he lived his life by these words. Sadly, he passed away from Esophageal Cancer on March 23, 2019. We played this song at his service. He was a good, wise, kind, beautiful, simple man. I miss him.
Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd is another must, if you liked Simple Man I'm positive you'll like that one as well. I need You is another favourite of mine
My mother sat me down when I was 12 years old, and told me that this song contains everything that you need to know to me a real man. I had heard it all my life, but it was the first time that I had really taken the time to really listen. I am now 47 years old, and my mom is at this moment lying in hospice. Having her make me sit and listen to this song in the context it was meant, is probably the most important thing she ever did in raising me. The more people are exposed to songs and messages that are this important it would be a better planet to live on. I love you so much, mom! Rest easy knowing you have raised a Simple Man. Thank you for making me the man I am today.
I have a similar experience of this also. My mom passed about 5 yrs ago from lung cancer but she raised me with a subtext of this very song. The problem is no matter how hard I try to be simple i just cant be.
When my son was about twelve, I played this for him and we had a long talk about what it means to be a good man and how to be true to himself and God. Great words to live by. That was 25 years ago. He is a wonderful, wonderful man, a great husband and fabulous father. As you can tell, I'm very proud of him!
Shortly after the lead singer Ronnie Van Zant's grandmother and guitarist Gary Rossington's mother died, they got together in Van Zant's apartment and started telling stories about them. Rossington came up with a chord progression, and Van Zant wrote the lyrics based on advice the women had given them over the years. They wrote it in about an hour. Legendary tune, great choice 🤘
I remember waking up to go to school that day in 1977 and the local morning TV news had the story of the plane crash the night before that killed Ronnie, Steve and Cassie and seriously injured most of the band . Being in Florida it was all anybody was talking about in school and we were all shellshocked , to Florida kids at that time Skynyrd were gods. The original lineup only made 4 albums but damn what a great 4 albums. Sadly most of the members that survived the crash have passed on too now. Great reaction guys, glad you appreciate the genius of a band that didn’t always get the credit they deserved! Peace
Nostra Thomas yeah man it's sad what happened to them I watched a lot of documentaries about the crash, I definitely wasn't alive to see these guys but me and my dad love listening to this song and other ones from them when the sun is setting and we are sitting by the fire or when we're down at my uncles in Florida we load up into a Polaris and go adventuring farms
Great Story, would have loved to been around then. But 4? I thought they had six albums from 73-77? Pronounced, Second Helping, Nuthin Fancy, Gimme Back My Bullets, on from the road, and street survivors
Nathan Brown yeah my bad , wasn’t counting the double live album but yeah I guess I was subconsciously giving them a mulligan for “Gimme Back my Bullets “ that was their artistic expression album that bands always seem to make once they get established. Ronnie and Gary said in an interview after the album didn’t do well, that they made the album with the band having complete control in the studio and they got too cute for their own good and on Street Survivors they got back to being Lynyrd Skynyrd. So yeah 5 but 4 fantastic albums and 1 good album ...haha..plus I was around back then so I can blame it on me getting a little senile 🙃
I lost my dad today. He lived a full rich life and it was time for him to be at peace. He was my hero. He married my mother when I was 14 and my brothers were 8,9 and 10. He took us on as his sons and treated us like that for his entire life (I’m 62 now). Hearing this song has me in tears…
Sorry for your loss brother, he sounds like a good man. My dad married my mom when I was 3, same story, always treated me like I was his son, never spoke of before and never said anything like you're not my..... He died too young and I still miss him
Could not be happier you guys did this song. This is my all time favorite song since my fathers passing, he used to sing this to me as a kid. He always told me, “Son, speak softly and carry a big stick, protect your own and always remember to be a simple man.” I feel this one in my soul every time I hear it, RIP William Loftis. LFFL, Legends never die.

Tuesdays gone for sure!! It's one of my all time favorites. Southern Rock is gold check out Can't You See by The Marshall Tucker Band for some more southern jams.
Agreed Brad. George and Ryan, ZZ does an awesome job of mixing blues and some country influences in their rock songs. "Cheap Sunglasses" and "LaGrange" are a couple of my faves, as well as "Sharp Dressed Man."
House of the Rising Sun by The Animals. Amazing song. It was one of my dads favorites. And every time I listen to it makes me feel closer to my dad. He passed away from Cancer in December of last year.
As a boy growing up without much of a father figure and a strong woman as a mother, this song always touches my soul. This song is literally how I live my life. A simple man
Tuesdays Gone we played simple man at my dads funeral in August last year because it summed up who he was dirt poor white boy from south Louisiana but he was happy cause he had a family who loved him and he thanked god for what he had great video thanks
I’ve never met anyone willing to dislike CCR. How do you hate on Proud Mary? Up Around The Bend? Bad Moon Risin’? Skynyrd’s very similar in that regard.
AAAAND... nope. Still don't regret this subscription. After many months (maybe a year?), I still feel this is the BEST MUSIC REACTION CHANNEL ON RUclips! By far!
Ahh, Free Bird? I mean, by far you guys are my favorite "reaction" channel, (actually the first for me), and I can not believe you guys haven't listened to Free Bird yet... It's really long but absolutely worth it. My boy "No Shaq Life" has a reaction video for it and it's great seeing how hyped he got over it; it's highly recommended!
Free Bird at Knebworth in 1976, it's on youtube. It is such a fantastic performance, so fun when Ronnie is trying to get back into the song and the guitar players are just trading solos and not letting him in.
Y'all have done it again...taken a song I was jaded to from over hearing it and made it fresh and cool again. This always was one of my favs from Skynyrd though. Now hit up some Allman Brothers. Dreams or It's Not My Cross to Bear.
I had the profound privilege to see the original Lynyrd Skynyrd live on Oct. 15 1977. 5 days later they had their plane crash. As a south Florida boy of 17 and a huge fan I was devastated. To this day it was one of the top 3 concerts I have ever seen. If you want to check out some of their lesser known songs. Check out “ made in the shade” or “the ballad of Curtis Lowe”
The Skynyrd band was on the verge of becoming a world wide known band when they had their fatal crash in 77' Give their LP Street Survivors a listen; it came out a mere three days before the crash, and as deceased singer Ronnie Van Zant said, "our best yet." Matter of fact, every LP up to that one is great too. These guys were incredible musicians and could play their asses off. Tragic story as all but one original member has passed, but they're one of the finest rock bands ever. Ronnie was the heartbeat of the band and an incredible lyricist who wrote for the common man. I know You guys love Chris Stapleton, well, he loved Skynyrd and was influenced by them as was Jason Isbell. You'd be wise to listen to every LP up to this one. After that it all changed.
It's always crazy to me when I think that that fateful day happened in 1977. That was 41 years ago. They were the Jimi Hendrix of Southern Rock in that they accomplished so much in such a short time. They have about 20 hit songs I can think of off hand and they all came out within such a short period. RIP to Ronnie and everyone else who died in that place crash.
Just saw their farewell performance in Jacksonville. The music still rings true even without the originals being around. Gary Rossington can still play, that's for sure. Johnny is no Ronnie as far as front men go, but the band still jammed especially Rickey Medlocke. Street Survivors was their best album top to bottom, but I've always held Simple Man up as their best single.
Skynyrd!!!!!!! I was in high school, at my locker, and the entire floor was sobbing and crying, cuz of their plane crash!! Southern rock was HUGE in the 70’s. I saw them years and years ago, and it was definitely the best concert EVER!! Freebird was, without a doubt, their most famous song. Freebird is Skynyrd! It was our class song, and the imprint on our year book. Do yourself a favor and listen to Freebird.!You won’t be disappointed!! If y’all will excuse me, I’m now gonna go back to high school and reflect! The greatest time in my life!
Arguably the best of all time. It doesn't get more Real, Honest or Organic . In there time after the first album most bands flamed out or the A&R guys fu@k them up with bad ideas or the wrong producers etc.
My husband got to see these in 1977 and told me they just killed it. He also told me how hot it was that day in Philly . Also remembers his sunburn too! 💚🦅🏈
@Madame Mayhem Before I got sick 5 yrs ago(CANCER 5times)I was a Bodyguard and 240 lbs . I used to tell a friend pof mine stories of what happened while I aar certain peop. He said that my stoleries sounded similar to those that he had . This where SUGE WHITE was born!🥋🤼♂️°°° Lovin yourr name as well!🤙
Whipping Post by The Allman Brothers is another one that really cuts deep into the heart of anyone who has been cheated on by the one they loved. It’s rhythm and blues meets blue grass.
Jacob Fulton another great song. But it’s the exact opposite of whipping post. It’s about escaping before you get caught with the guy’s wife vs your wife cheating on you haha
Rup Tratin It was just a convenient and short way to combine southern rock and blues in a description. I know there’s no banjo player so it’s technically not bluegrass.
Love how the guys really listen to any and everything no matter what genre. Keeping an open mind to stuff out of their wheelhouse, and giving so much attention to the words of stuff they most likely have never heard. Kudos to to them, and anyone who listens to music with an open mind because music is universal. Guys, I am a fan, keep on doing your thing because you both are doing it right! Thank you for sharing and best of luck with your reviews.
I appreciate you guys so much. This, Tennessee Whiskey, and a few others are next level breakdowns. I'm in 2024 right now and I've probably watched these (and others) 6+ times
Tuesday's Gone, my personal favorite lynard skynard song. I love how open y'all are. My playlist is similar. Music is a gateway to the soul, mind, & body. So, I enjoy all the flavors. Great job 👏
Skynyrd is a legend. They are the backbone of Southern Rock. Its hard not to LOVE everything in the catalog. Free Bird is a great so but so is Curtis Lowe, Gimme Three Steps, it's just an amazing band. When that plane went down, it just took so much from us. I love them, always have.
Tuesday's Gone is probably my favorite by them. It's hard for me to listen too sometimes cuz it was played at my sister's funeral. I think you guys would love it though. It's another one that tugs at your heart strings. I appreciate all that y'all do! I've watched other reaction channels and yours is always the one I come back for and I believe that it's because you guys are so relatable and hilarious. You always put a smile on my face and sometimes you open my eyes and ears to new ways of interpreting and listening to songs I already love and that's awesome. Keep it up guys! Y'all are the best!
You might have heard the Shinedown cover of this from 2003, if not the original from Skynyrd. You guys gotta listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd - Ballad of Curtis Loew
I was thinking the same thing :) My first introduction to this song was the original ( Skynrd ) but I also love the raw emotion from the Shinedown version.
The story goes that Al Kooper, the producer, said that he couldn't believe that they wanted to add this song to the album. Ronnie Van Zant, the singer, supposedly escorted Kooper out of the studio and the band recorded and mixed the song.
My ALL-TIME FAVORITE band! Ronnie Van Zant was a true legend and master lyricist! My two all-time favorite Skynyrd songs are “All I Can Do Is Write About It” and “If I’m Wrong” both lesser known unless you’re a die hard fan. Give those a listen my music fanatic brothers you’ll be glad you did!
Can’t say enough about how much I loved watching you guys enjoy this song. Lynyrd skynyrd has plenty of amazing songs that you’ve never even heard of. You should Listen to every album from 1973-1977 (first 5 albums). The original band. Ronnie van zant was one of the best singer and songwriters ever. And the rest of the band can’t be touched.
This is my mother’s song for me and my siblings. I won tickets to see them three years ago, took my mom, when they played this I stood there with her and just cried.. a grown man standing with him mom crying, imagine that. We haven’t missed them playing around us since. The whole building shakes when they’re playing. I’m so happy you guys liked this one.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is the ultimate southern rock band. Everything they do has that touch of blues and soul to it. Other good songs by them are Tuesdays Gone, Free Bird and the needle and the spoon
GUYS: YOU MUST REVIEW 'THE BALLAD OF CURTIS LOEW' IMMEDIATELY!! NORMALLY, I'M NOT ONE TO DO THE CRAZY ALL CAPS POST, BUT THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST....I ONLY WISH I COULD POST IN BIGGER LETTERS 8) 'The Ballad of Curtis Loew' will take your respect for Lynyrd Skynyrd as a great rock band and push into 'America's GREATEST rock n' roll (and other genres) band EVER'....but you won't understand WHY until you've listened to 'The Ballad of Curtis Loew'...YOU WILL UNDERSTAND when you hear the song....I PROMISE 8) LOVE YOU FOR DOING THIS-THANK YOU!!!!!
I just love watching you guys react to music. When you like something instantly it shows in your faces and when your struggling you always look like you’re listening really closely and trying to find a redeeming element in the song (DT Metropolis). Keep it up guys and RUSH - Freewill!!!! Do it!!!
I’ll never forget a couple years ago I was living in Virginia still with my parents and my sister and I ended up getting a life changing offer for work in Colorado (mind you I had never been further west than Tennessee). I packed what little I owned into my honda civic and set off on a 2 day drive across the country, most of which I’d never seen before. I was in Indiana on day one, it was the early evening, sun was setting and there were no other cars on the road and nothing but open fields in all directions. This song came on and I’m not sure what came over me but within the first 20 seconds or so I started bawling my eyes out and didn’t stop until well after the song was over. The reality, and gravity of the sudden life change just hit me all at once in that moment - and the meaning of this song became clear to me: no matter what happens stay true to the values you were raised on and don’t ever forget where you came from; how my mother and father raised me and how I would need to live my life going forward. It was the most surreal moment of my young life, and now every time I hear it chills just run through me from start to finish.
When i turned 16 years old my mom sat me down and played this song for me and it has always brought me to tears hearing it. I love how much these guys felt the emotion in this song too. A mama's love is simply unmatched by anything else in this world.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of my favorites so I knew this song, but watching you guys geek out to this put a big smile on my face! I loved it! Keep doing you guys and keep those positive attitudes. Definitely have to review The Ballad of Curtis Loew.
This song was dedicated from my Mom to my brother at his funeral. I love it so much but can't listen to it without crying. I just had to see your reaction to it though. Crazy the way music can connect you in such a deep way.
While recoding this, the producer said he didn't like and it will never be memorable. Ronnie(singer) escorted him to his car and said you are done for the day. Then went in and the band finished the song.
That's an awesome story to the song.
No way 😱. Wow. What an amazing story. Go Ronnie 🤣🤣👏👏👌👌
It's in their new documentary on Showtime.
Hmm.... was the producer on the plane? (Just curious)

Southern Rock at its finest. RIP Ronnie.
Before I was aware of the term Southern rock. I called it freedom rock.
And RIP practically all of the original members

Pretty Northern, actually.

Both incredible songs and one of my biggest influences as a songwriter
I Need You is my favorite Skynyrd song, which is pretty hard to narrow down.
Metallica's cover is one of the few songs I believe is a better cover than the original.
Kyle Motty agreed! I love it with John Popper!! It makes me tear up every time!
Tony Borton, I need you is a very underrated song.
"Tuesdays Gone" is an AMAZING Lynyrd Skynrd song. You gotta check it out!
My favorite skynrd song, taught myself to play it when my nana died so always close to my heart

So....when you guys gonna listen to some Creedance? CCR is one of those bands that's almost impossible to not enjoy.
Southern and Blues influenced band.
StepmasterSpoony Run through the jungle🤘🏼
I’ve never met anyone willing to dislike CCR. How do you hate on Proud Mary? Up Around The Bend? Bad Moon Risin’? Skynyrd’s very similar in that regard.
someday never comes
Midnight Special, Run Through The Jungle, Green River, and Fortunate Son are among their more popular, and I love pretty much anything by CCR
AAAAND... nope. Still don't regret this subscription. After many months (maybe a year?), I still feel this is the BEST MUSIC REACTION CHANNEL ON RUclips! By far!
No doubt!!
Agreed! I love this channel!
Word! I concur
Definitely! I love these videos and I'm not a big You Tube guy.
Hands down!! These dudes are dope!!
Tuesdays gone by skynyrd. It'll sound really familiar to you guys. Amazing song
billmanize Always been my favorite Skynyrd tune
You guys gotta do Lynard Skynyrd Curtis Loew!!!! Great song and tells a story. I think you guys will really enjoy it.
Y'all have done it again...taken a song I was jaded to from over hearing it and made it fresh and cool again. This always was one of my favs from Skynyrd though. Now hit up some Allman Brothers. Dreams or It's Not My Cross to Bear.
Yes! Love the Allman Brothers... Whipping post
Got to love '' Soulshine'' too
Ain't wastin time no more, or Melissa is my vote
diablo speedzl1 ...''Blue Skies'' is also a great one
MELISSA BUBBA
I had the profound privilege to see the original Lynyrd Skynyrd live on Oct. 15 1977. 5 days later they had their plane crash. As a south Florida boy of 17 and a huge fan I was devastated. To this day it was one of the top 3 concerts I have ever seen. If you want to check out some of their lesser known songs. Check out “ made in the shade” or “the ballad of Curtis Lowe”
If you liked this one, you guys have to listen to 'Ballad of Curtis Lowe" by Skynyrd
top 50 favorite songs of all time for me
Yuuuuup
Love that song💗
Yasssss!!!
This song, your suggestion and Free Bird are the complete trilogy of the pinnacle of their talent. RIP to Ronnie and the rest we have lost.
Lynyrd Skynyrd actually toured overseas and was worn out from playing gigs since the mid 60's
The ballad of Curtis Lowe by Skynyrd you should definitely check it out
YAS!!! I second this!!!
I can't express how much I love watching you guys feel this music. Because that's what you do, you "feel" music.
The greatest time in my life!
lovetocheerx0x0 I was at my locker on my birthday in 1978 Oct 20 when I heard they were killed too.
@@texastrishbutler4411 they went down in 1977...
Y’all should do ballad of Curtis Loew, probably the best Lynyrd Skynyrd song
Yes, yes, yes!!
Amen
I wouldn't say it's the best, but definitely Top 10.
One of the greatest bands of all time!!!
NuOrder11
The best!
💚🦅🏈
Along with The Eagles and CCR you have the top 3 of the 70s. That's bands though, then you have singles, duets, groups, etc...
This is going to be me and my mothers song at my wedding this November. Makes me tear up everytime I listen to be honest.
That’s what used to come out of the South before it was commercialized, mis-characterized and mis-represented.
Southern rock gives me chills in a way that no other genre does. Haunting chords, lyrics....love this song and this review.
Being from Florida, I love the sweet sounds of SOUTHERN ROCK 🌴
@Madame Mayhem diggin your screen name!!🌴
@Madame Mayhem Before I got sick 5 yrs ago(CANCER 5times)I was a Bodyguard and 240 lbs . I used to tell a friend pof mine stories of what happened while I aar certain peop. He said that my stoleries sounded similar to those that he had . This where SUGE WHITE was born!🥋🤼♂️°°°
Lovin yourr name as well!🤙
....by the grace of God.
The Ballad of Curtis Loew is one of my favorite Skynyrd songs
I was searching for someone to mention this song.....
One of my favorite skynyrd song too...
Kenny McCoy best Skynyrd song
YESSS!!!
Every time I hear this song it makes me cry. Ronnie was truly one of the best songwriters , and he never had to write them down .
Southern rock baby. God bless the late great Ronnie Vanzant.
React to Lynyrd Skynyrd Ballad of Curtis Loew
And That Smell, please!
Ballad of Curtis Loew is one of their best hands down
Skynyrd is one of those bands where the music comes from the heart, and as a result the music connects on a much deeper level.
Easily their best song.
Easily the best song!
The ballad of Curtis Lo .its one of my favorites. These guys are at the root of southern rock, where country, blues, and rock come together.
Denise Lee I agree.
Instant sub. My momma had this talk with me on her death bed. You guys rock. Thank you.
So sorry you lost your Momma. I lost mine too...a few months ago❤
Whipping Post by The Allman Brothers is another one that really cuts deep into the heart of anyone who has been cheated on by the one they loved. It’s rhythm and blues meets blue grass.
Made me think of the Allman brothers too I was thinking ''One Way Out''
Jacob Fulton another great song. But it’s the exact opposite of whipping post. It’s about escaping before you get caught with the guy’s wife vs your wife cheating on you haha
What is bluegrass about Whipping Post?
Rup Tratin It was just a convenient and short way to combine southern rock and blues in a description. I know there’s no banjo player so it’s technically not bluegrass.
STATESBORO BLUES!!!
I love you guys. I like the fact that yall enjoy all genres of music. Proves that music is universal and a unifying force.
Such a easy to listen song and even tho i am from Europe, it makes me cry stars and stripes.
You don't need to be American to understand beauty of this music, imho.
Love your comment! Very interesting way to put it, and I think you were exactly right. It is simply, "American."
And not just any American, but Southern United States sitting in porch smoking cigar and looking at the fields.
We’ll take you bro, come on over and get some BBQ and sweet tea, you can stay with me.
The southern states are allot more patriotic wish I could experience that but I live in backwards ass California
You just reacted to one of the greatest songs ever written!!
Train train by blackfoot.harmonica with killer riffs
Dwayne
Very true..Lost in Vegas is a great channel..KTF also does great reactions.😎
Man, one of my favorite songs by my favorite band. I knew I loved you guys for a reason.
Jeff Buckley- Grace.
Another great voice taken too soon.
Victor Garcia yes! They definitely need to do Jeff Buckley!
Last goodbye. I wish he was still here to make more great music
So real too
This doesn’t get requested as much as it nearly should.
Lover, You Should’ve Come Over or Everybody Here Wants You!
Had the honor to meet these guys in person. Spent about 15 minutes with them. Down to earth, good souls.
I really like these guys they are honest straightforward and speak from the heart. Rare find these days
You HAVE to react to Ballad of Curtis Loew!!
That's SUCH a good one!
The Ballad of Curtis Lowe ...Off Second helping album,,,, brings me to tears
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate you guys so much. This, Tennessee Whiskey, and a few others are next level breakdowns. I'm in 2024 right now and I've probably watched these (and others) 6+ times
Simple man is one of those songs that come on you have to turn it up to 10!
is one of that songs, you can listen in your car all the time from NY to LA...
10/100? Wtf is a good song why you hatin for why search a song just to hate shake my head

@@ffghvcgbnh7327 😂 oh you trolling
You've got to check out "Whipping Post" from the Allman Brothers.
Gotta do the studio version though, I don't think they wanna make a 45 minute video.
@@marksherrick You're probably right but the solo in the live version is killer.
One of the great ones.
Curtis Loew you will understand so much about them
Still my favorite Skynyrd song.
I wish I could like this comment 100 times
Not my favorite Skynyrd song, but for this purpose it's a great recommendation
Excellent choice!!! I love that song.
you beat me to it lol its my favorite song from this band and i was about to ask " are u serious? never heard curtis loew?"
I concur about Tuesday's Gone. It never fails to rip my heart out when I hear it.
Stormy Ermatinger every time I hear Tuesday’s gone I think of happy Gilmore lol
"Tuesday's Gone" is amazing. Anyone enjoying 'Simple Man' would love it.. possibly even more so.
STORMY ERMATINGER I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday's gone is my jam!!!
"Staring into the clouds" music. Beautiful! Perfect!
Talk about words to live by! Every kid from 10 to 18 should be sat down on his birthday every and have to listen to this.
React to Lynyrd skynyrd - the ballad of Curtis Lowe
Yes
Bump!
Curtis Lowe is one of there better songs. You 2 would love it.
Yes Curtis Lowe
My favorite song ever!
You might have heard the Shinedown cover of this from 2003, if not the original from Skynyrd.
You guys gotta listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd - Ballad of Curtis Loew
Shinedown's cover is so amazing
I actually prefer the shinedown cover
Oh yes! AWESOME SONG
I was thinking the same thing :) My first introduction to this song was the original ( Skynrd ) but I also love the raw emotion from the Shinedown version.
Ballad of Curtis Loew is easily my favorite Skynard song, but I didn't know Shinedown covered it
Ballad of Curtis Loew!
The story goes that Al Kooper, the producer, said that he couldn't believe that they wanted to add this song to the album. Ronnie Van Zant, the singer, supposedly escorted Kooper out of the studio and the band recorded and mixed the song.
Guys, consider hearing “Freebird” by LS.
As well as, “Ain’t wasting time no more” by the Allman Bros. Band, live at the Beacon in Atlanta.
Need to do Tuesdays Gone by them! Such a sick song
I want Chris Stapleton to do a cover of this. Shinedown Does a great cover, but I know Chris would kill it!!!!!
This version is better than Shinedown, but a Stapleton version would be interesting
Chris has! ruclips.net/video/hAoZVL79KZw/видео.html
Horrible
@@carlahuff4307 Thanks for sharing that! I just wish he had a version with just him
He can do any song because he is so amazing
My ALL-TIME FAVORITE band! Ronnie Van Zant was a true legend and master lyricist! My two all-time favorite Skynyrd songs are “All I Can Do Is Write About It” and “If I’m Wrong” both lesser known unless you’re a die hard fan. Give those a listen my music fanatic brothers you’ll be glad you did!
add Mr.Banker as well.
Good choice. "Was I Right Or Wrong" is another great one. Their emotional balads are the best.
My all time favorite is “on the hunt”
Ronnie Van Zant had a voice that was like no other. Gone too soon
Alice In Chains - Nutshell (Unplugged)!!
Yes please! So much better than "Love, Hate, Love."
I actually would prefer they do the album version.
Gotta be Unplugged.
@@crazyaboutnature Both are great, but the fact he can sound just as great live as on the album is awesome
Agreed
That's the southern rock fellas. Marshall Tucker Band. Can't you see
the highlight blue ridge mountain sky
MTB. R.I.P. my good friend Stuart Swanlund.
Love you guys. Unbiased and completely open to all music types. And you know good music when you hear it! Bravo.
I love how you guys breakdown things in your reaction and not just say a couple things at the end. Keep it up guys much love respect!
❤
If a man loves his mama like that, that's a good man.
I love my momma, I'm really good!
Lynyrd Skynyrd is the ultimate southern rock band. Everything they do has that touch of blues and soul to it. Other good songs by them are Tuesdays Gone, Free Bird and the needle and the spoon
This is my favorite Skynyrd song.
GUYS: YOU MUST REVIEW 'THE BALLAD OF CURTIS LOEW' IMMEDIATELY!!
NORMALLY, I'M NOT ONE TO DO THE CRAZY ALL CAPS POST, BUT THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST....I ONLY WISH I COULD POST IN BIGGER LETTERS 8)
'The Ballad of Curtis Loew' will take your respect for Lynyrd Skynyrd as a great rock band and push into 'America's GREATEST rock n' roll (and other genres) band EVER'....but you won't understand WHY until you've listened to 'The Ballad of Curtis Loew'...YOU WILL UNDERSTAND when you hear the song....I PROMISE 8)
LOVE YOU FOR DOING THIS-THANK YOU!!!!!
Ballad of curtis Lowe is probably skynyrds best story telling song
Their best song imo
Yes! My favorite
Their best imo as well
yea that and 4 walls of raiford
Yes curtis lowe👍
I just love watching you guys react to music. When you like something instantly it shows in your faces and when your struggling you always look like you’re listening really closely and trying to find a redeeming element in the song (DT Metropolis). Keep it up guys and
RUSH - Freewill!!!! Do it!!!
My most fave guitar solo from Lerxt, and what Ged is doing "behind" it . . . DAMN! :D
Agreed
Im also down for a FREEWILL react 👍
My favorite is when George and Ryan get a stinkface without pausing, you know they're vibing hard and the pause is coming lmfao
Congrats! The light bulb came on and you instantly understood.
The lyrics to this song are a guide to living a good life. Be humble. Be happy in what you do. You will be ok.
Curtis Lowe Do that song sometime. I think you guys would love that one too! I’m a huge fan of you guys btw! Thank you for doing a gig like this.
I second this!! Curtis Lowe is such a gem!
relaeased in 73. I cant even begin to estimate how much weed I smoked while listening to their music in the 70,s.
🤣🤣🤣
What no hash under glass
Yea, that too!
A lot of weed....
Oh how i envy you
When i turned 16 years old my mom sat me down and played this song for me and it has always brought me to tears hearing it. I love how much these guys felt the emotion in this song too. A mama's love is simply unmatched by anything else in this world.
Wow, thanks for exposing me to this beautiful song! ❤
Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of my favorites so I knew this song, but watching you guys geek out to this put a big smile on my face! I loved it!
Keep doing you guys and keep those positive attitudes. Definitely have to review The Ballad of Curtis Loew.
everyone needs to hear curtis loew in their life
Southern Rock, heavy blues and country influences. Besides FREEBIRD, you can also try Tuesdays Gone, That Smell, or Saturday Night Special.
Forgot That Smell great song.
Yep. Tuesday’s gone would be perfect.
This song was dedicated from my Mom to my brother at his funeral. I love it so much but can't listen to it without crying. I just had to see your reaction to it though. Crazy the way music can connect you in such a deep way.
