They look great on your 400! Next time I'm in Dallas lets get together and I'll do a shoot on it if you're down. When I drop the AMG off to get wrapped it's going to take about a week, so I'll need something to do anyway ✊

I really appreciate that! We do plan on doing the clam hinge, however it will need a little work to make it fit properly with my Euro rear panel so we've held off up to this point. I 100% would like to do a how-to video on that though, I'll put it on our list and we'll get to it asap!

@@atomicorang corvette is hard to beat for usability - I had a C5 Z06 with the Tigershark body. I still consider it the best "car" I've ever had. Incredibly fast, beautiful, and very usable as a daily. The Elise while more fun and more attention grabbing, definitely sacrifices a lot. Prices are seriously going up, they have doubled just recently with chatter that several people will be listing at around the 100k mark, so sounds like that days of the 30k Elise are fleating, so get in while you can if you seriously want one!
@@TonyMaples My wife who just turned 80 loves our 2019 Corvette Sebring Orange chrome . It’s amazing a lady like her still loves her ride. Leaving stock original for a future owner. I figure unmolested is best in our case. It’s an awesome car and we drive it about every weekend.

Good video, I've been on the fence about these for awhile mainly just because I think the Elise so good stock, but subtle and tasteful upgrades like this make it even better. Time to order a set!
I agree completely! My last one was pretty track inspired, so I wanted this one to be more subtle and "oem+" kind of feel. We've done a pretty significant amount of work to the car, but it's hard to tell because it's all subtle, tasteful mods. These are definitely one of the best parts of the car! The only better looking taillights on any car right now have to be the Ford GT in my opinion.
@@TonyMaples Finally got these (they were on backorder for ages) and going to install them this weekend. I thought about making a video of the install, but honestly yours is so good I'm just going to do a little unboxing and commentary then point people here!

Dang these V3 tails got me excited, ordered mine Friday for my SLC and patiently waiting (and being jealous).
They'll look great on the back of your SLC - You should send Greg some photos when they are on, and I'd love to see them too!

Took a month but I got mine delivered over to Oz for my MY16 series 3 Exige S V6 and the GRP V3's look sooo much better than the same OEM taillights as this series 2 Elise. Plugged straight in, changed the battery to a 12v 50AH LiFePo4 solid cell job and took the glass tail cover out at the same time for a louvred 380 Sport-style tailgate panel in carbon fibre. Totally worth it. The fibreglass clamshells are like drum skins, so much sound is passed through got any ideas for a sound deadening treatment there?
Tony- your lights do not have the reflector options, right? Am planning to order. 1 set = all 4 lights? Nice price.
That's right, no reflectors in mine. Much cleaner without them!

I love the way these look but they just don't seem bright enough in the daylight. Is that just the shot or are the dimmer than OEM?
I've never found any issues with these in the daylight, definitely as bright as my old OEM ones, and I have followed behind the car on many occasions while a friend was driving. I definitely recommend, they are amazing in person!
Are these red with amber lenses or red with smoked lenses?
Was just on the GRP website and it doesn’t look like smoked is an option at this point.
These are red lenses with amber signals, nothing smoked! Greg is really responsive and helpful so if you want to triple check you're getting exactly what you want, shoot him an email and he'll make sure you're taken care of!
The oem led taillights are like lasers, they are so bright.
These dont look as bright (brake light). Are they?
They are still plenty bright, at or exceeding laws here in Texas. I'll never go back to my oem ones!
Tony did you opt for the smoked option of GRP tail lights?

Thanks! The kit comes with a hyperflash relay for pre-2006 cars to stop the blinkers from operating too quickly due to the LEDs. It is located under the dash in the footwell next to the wiper relay and OBD port.

Do you think the V3 tail light may fits on a Ferrari 360 Modena?
It's good to hear from you, has been a while!
Based on what I've seen in person, the light sizes are very similar. Do you still have your Elise? You could pull off one of the lights from the Elise and see what it would take to fit it on the 360. The lights mount very simply with 2 studs on the back, with nuts holding them on from the inside. I've never removed a 360 taillight but I imagine they are attached in a similar way.
If it looks manageable, then you could definitely make the V3 light work as well. Would need to be spliced into the harness of the Ferrari but I imagine it would not be very difficult at all. If I had a 360 I'd probably make this modification work, as long as the lights are similar diameters!
Hey brother, where did you get the duo exit rear grilles?
Those are incredibly hard to come by these days - mine are oem from the UK. I have a couple friends who work in the industry and have expressed interest in making some for me without the reflectors, maybe a hex pattern instead of the perforations, but haven't made it happen yet. If I do, I'll make a video and have extra sets made to sell. My best advice for now is to keep an eye on LotusTalk and the FB page for a set to pop up for sell. You might also send Jon Seal Sportscars a message, I've spoken with them often about hard to find parts and they seem to really be a good resource. Buying a 2018 Elise clam and S3 headlights from them are on my list!

I will absolutely let you know, I believe there is still a set for sale locally I may pick up. The car has been parked for the past year and a half, needed a clutch and I took a job working remotely in the desert near Big Bend National Park, but back to city life and just pulled the transmission yesterday to put in a new clutch, so getting back into things. I will let you know if I pick up that other set when I'm back in town the first of the month 🤙🏼
