    It has been a dream of mine since starting our channel 10 years ago to purchase a giant scale gas RC plane that has smoke. Today, that dream became a reality as I purchased this Ultimate biplane from AMA District 3 vice president and friend, Mark Radcliff. I hope you enjoy the channel maiden of this RC airplane. I am excited for the possibilities of this plane and cannot wait to see how I continue to progress in this hobby over the next 10 years.

    Oh, man-oh-man, Nathan!!! ✨🤗✨ I am SO happy to FINALLY see you flying a GLOW engine plane.
    W T G , BUDDY!!! And you did SO well.
    When I was twelve (72 now), my very first plane was a kit-built balsa with an .049 glow engine.
    MEMORIES... they just started flooding back. And they made me so happy. Ya did GOOD, son.

    I swapped the Alli Wing Tubes out for Carbon on mine, saved 1.25 lb !
    Also, watch out keeping power on , during "snaps" etc ~ I added functional flying wires to the TP, it's a weak point if doing hard 3d.
    I ran a DLE 222 !!!🤣🤣

    I started watching you when I first started flying 4 years ago. You helped me figure out my first plane, a Hobby Zone Carbon Cub S2. Now...., 4 years later I have gas powered giant scale planes that I fly. I just sold my little Cub last week! Welcome to the world of gas and giant scale. You will love it. That Ultimate flies beautifully. Seems to come in pretty slow for a 150cc powered plane. Very nice. Congratulations! That plane is a beauty. Now.... you will learn the fun job of transporting it. Time to buy an enclosed trailer! lol

      Hopefully you've got the mechanical knowledge to avoid issues in setup, tank, wire chaffing, tuning, poor maintenance, linkages, batteries, and reverting to inapplicable unforgiving flying decisions are to be watched for.
      Keep your airspeed appropriate, use rudder often, don't fly when less than optimal plane and or conditions exists.
      Talk to competent pilots, avoid incompetent ones, you'll know. Listen and learn, pass it on, be humble and enjoy.

    • @Krash_fpv
      @Krash_fpv Год назад +1

      @jeffs absolutely, I bought a used setup from a pilot at my club and am constantly speaking with the giant scale iMac and 3d guys for tips....I redid all working on mine and added snake skin covering and clips to keep wires from chaffing and wearing thru...also did a rebuild on the motor(I built race motors for gopeds and go carts in past) do everything I can to practice proper flying...I am a heavy rudder user when I fly and I don't fly my giant scale in rough conditions....I wasn't saying I know it all I was saying the bigger planes fly better....I did alot of research before jumping

    Congrats on the new plane. This is surely an upgrade from the fomies but man, its a beauty. I can't wait to see you continue to grow with this plane and your skills are going to fly up even more now with this large scale bird. Enjoy...

    Great flight!! I feel for you and what you have built up to. It is definitely a ladder system of success or failure that lead up to where we are all at with our skills and or aircraft or both. Congratulations man, I was happy to watch because it’s almost like no matter the experience of a pilot the nerves are always the biggest battle.

    Nice plane Nate, and nice flying also my friend!! I'm almost as jealous as I am happy for you! I hope one day, God willing, I can get to this point also someday.. Super happy to see your journey, learn with and from you, and push ourselves to achieve our dreams. Thank you again Nate, and also, thank you Abby for all you do in not only filming but mostly for the lessons I've learned from you being a "beginner" like me.. God bless all of you and a HUGE thank you to all of you who inspire and teach future aviators.

    Oh my Nathan. What a BEAUTIFUL airplane...and what BEAUTIFUL flying. Your 10 years have certainly prepared you for this day. As always you are nearly causing me to fail one of the big 10 (trying so hard NOT to envy right now). Seriously I'm SO glad to see this. I've NEVER flown a plane that had smoke either. Many many years ago I was building a Great Planes Steen Skybolt...and was trying to build it to be a scale bird matching one flown by Bearfeat Aerobatics (look them up) and was planning on installing smoke. Alas I never finished the plane, and sold it years ago. Also the pilot for Bearfeat was killed in a crash in 2016. Watching you fly this....I may have to go back and try building the Skybolt again. Thank you so much for sharing. I am SO HAPPY for you.
