Gonna have to give one a try, I love the volantex micro warbirds but this is just too funny to see a US company finally ripping off a Chinese idea instead of the other way around.
Nate. I'm sorry, but the eachine warbirds are perfectly capable of being flown out of stabilised mode. Yes they take a lot of trimming typically, but its a you problem, not the plane's. Give them some more time, the corsair f4u is my personal favourite but they all do really well in 'expert' mode.
I have now purchased 6 and they work great! Lost one trying to fly on a real windy day. I crash them constantly and they continue to fly. They work and are fun to fly. I have a lot of money on other planes that just sit on the shelf because they don’t work anymore.
The Volantec Mini War Birds P51 Mustang V2 does have the removable hatches to gain access to the control board with the servos and a hatch to gain access to the motor up front. The P51 V2 comes with 2 twin blade and 2 quad blade props, upgrades landing gear that clips in rather than the old screws, the tail wheel is also removable and now has a clear see through canopy. The 6 axis Gyro has been upgraded with a new hand launch feature and once trimmed correctly can fly in Adv mode much easier than the V1. I had a faulty aileron servo out of the box and Banggood sorted it out no problems. Plus the price was fantastic at Euros 72. But Im glad to see a new player in this market segment...

There's a OEM/ODM factory in China that makes these foam warbirds, they can be bought on many different websites such as Amazon, Banggood, AliExpress, and many other as well under different names/brands in different sizes from 400mm and up. Eachine, Volantex RC, Horizon, etc etc etc etc.
All Horizon Hobby products are from China originally, so it's there's very good chance to get a damaged product, which I have gotten.......Great review, seems like a good product at a fare price....... Horizon Hobbies customer service is the worst of all the RC distributors........
@@stevejohnston8543 That was my impression as well. I had an issue with Horizons website but then they got back with me very quickly and it worked out.
You knew HH wasn't gonna stand for that cut into their business ;) I still like the Volantex/Eachine planes. There are a lot to choose from, bind to my TX16S and fly great. Good luck on HH catching up :D
It flies much better in Acro than the Eachine and the Volantex warbirds. The airframe reminds me of the old Cox Wings P-51 Micr Warbird ARFs. Hopefully, they will come out with an F-4U Corsair, Spitfire, Fulk-Wolf FW 190, Zero and Hellcat. That would be cool!
Hopefully, these will be successful enough for Horizon that they bring out other warbird models in the same series. Right now, it's just this Mustang and a Cub.
Mine flies great! Faster than I expected. Keep it in intermediate as turning off the safe or whatever made it pretty twitchy but beginner mode felt like I didn’t have enough elevator authority while landing. I did call horizon about the prop. The pop off design is a solid idea but it was coming off almost every lading with one of mine and eventually the hub wore out. FYI the replacements you can purchase “do” come with a new hub - which prompted my call.
This and the motionRC skynetic mini warbirds.. but nobody wants to release a mini p38 twin brushless micro... i love p51s but lawd have mercy there were other warbirds out there 😅😅
As I used to work in a hobby shop and it got increasingly harder to stay open when RUclipsrs would say to buy thru them instead of supporting their LHS. There is a great service and information point that will be lost when they are gone. The store I worked in was the last Airplane store open in Houston TX and it was viable because of the rc cars. I now live in a town that doesn't have a LHS at all and the closest one is over 3hrs away one way.
Love the plane Nate, but too bad it’s NOT AVAILABLE NOW! It is a pre order that won’t ship for over 4 months, PRE-ORDER | Next Shipment October 2024 ☹️. Love your videos though, and always look forward to new content.
I’m sorry for the confusion. I was told just a few days ago that they had a ton in stock in their warehouse and that customers would likely be getting theirs even a day or two ahead of us, which is totally fine! Anyways, I’m very surprised to see they are on preorder until October with the information I was given. Thanks for your continued support!! 🙏💯👍⚓️
Hey, don't forget Canada! That plane looks really nice! I wonder of the Eachine props fit on it. I just confirmed that my local hobby store here in Ottawa, Great Hobbies, has it, but don't have stock yet, but it is $139.99 Canadian dollar, which is roughly $99 US dollars equivalent. I had the Eachine Spitfire, and I gave it to my nephew. He has a masters in engineering, and part of his masters work was he did some computer modelling of the Spitfire wing...so I figured he deserved to have Spitfire to fly! Now that that I don't have the Spitfire, If HobbyZone comes out with a Spitfire in the same line, I will definitely snarf it up!
Man, I just purchased one of these at a local hobby store in my hometown. She was airborne for less than a minute when the prop and prop saver came off. I have since tried multiple props and prop savers as well as one drop of superglue and every time the entire prop saver works itself off of the motor shaft.
It is a rebranding of the Top RC warbirds. Also the Eachine warbirds are capable of flying out of stabilization mode, in fact I learned to fly with the P51
Same story as Eachine, VolanteX RC and other brands but this time with TOP RC HOBBY and Horizon Hobby. Exactly the same as TOP RC HOBBY models on Banggood, with different paint schemes. P51, Spitfire, FW109, ME109, P47, ... are available.
Absolutely yes. A lot of people have learned to fly on this type of plane! The biggest downside is the size of the plane. Just don’t wanna fly too far away so that you can’t see it. Happy Flying! 👍💯😎⚓️
nice video! I have a form of the machine model, so I'm waiting for an axis model to come out, which I will buy. Nice to see them giving us a US shipped and backed mini warbird. Keep up the content. When you review the zero or Fockewolfe, I will use your link.
Thank you!! Ya know, I could be wrong but we think there are problems with the Zero, sadly. They usually push hard and ship early any and all of the Eachine birds to us, but refuse to send the Zero. Usually that indicates a strong red flag. But again, I could be wrong about that. Just seems strange! 💯🤔⚓️
Hi guy's, I just saw that Volantex is releasin by the end of this month a 500mm warbird series with brushless motor, the first I saw is the P51 Mustang. Are you going to review those anytime soon? can you find out which other models will be released?
Surprised to see Hobbyzone rebranding a TopRC plane. It might be similar to an Eachine but it is identical to my TopRC 450mm wingspan Mustang (even down to the removeable cockpit). The TopRC 450mm wingspan range came out some time ago now. Nothing new here then at all really. If you can't wait for the Hobbyzone one then just get a TopRC!.....I enjoy your reviews!
I’m extremely surprised to know these are on preorder until October! We were told they were shipping to customer Before we would even have ours. Strange! Happy Flying 👍💯😎⚓️
My not be true, as I heard from Brian Phillips that these have bigger motors...Maybe someone can verify, as specs don't mention motor size. I know for a fact that the TopRc P-51's have a 1020 coreless, just like the 400mm Volantex warbirds, and the gearboxes will fit right in.
Could you do a different view & fly your plane explaining each move your doing but video your stick movement so I understand better if you mix sticks to turn or just use one stick for a certain move. Hope you can. This little plane is nice, hope as a beginner I can learn to fly it. Thanks for video.
I doubt volantex has anything to fear you can fly any of Thier warbirds with one multi protocol transmitter I have a feeling it's just a re-brand of a Chinese company which one I'd had to get a closer look and I just noticed the 2 open ports I guarantee you there's a 5v for Futaba and a 3v for spektrum the standard out of the box is probably Futabas
So why buy this as I've got the 400mm Volantex that I paid even less? What is the protocol? Is it a DSMX? Can I fly it with my Radiomaster Boxer 4in1 like I can the Volantex? Is it brushless? And my Son-in-law flies these great in 3D.
Over by me I have rage rc ones and I can’t find anything else local, sadly I think my bf 109 took a too sharp of a dive the other day and the prop is slightly off put now and it sounds a little funky
One BIG DISADVANTAGE of this plane is the INABILITY to do a LOOP in intermediate SAFE mode. Unlike the EACHINE planes, you must be in expert mode to do a loop! With my several EACHINE warbirds, I can do loops to my heart’s content in intermediate mode. No so with SAFE; you are forced to switch to expert mode! This is a dealbreaker for me.
That's true of all Spektrum planes, jets....probably hundreds of airplanes, you've got to be able to turn off safe mode. If you can't fly without turning's off gyros, you are still learning the basics of flying. And there's nothing matter with that. We're all still learning, just some of us are learning more complex things. I'm trying to figure how to get a good snap roll!
@@HciContractor I can fly the larger planes without SAFE, but not these tiny things. They’re just too twitchy for me. Furthermore, I can barely see them at a distance with my old eyes. So, for me, gyros ARE necessary to fly them. But it’s more fun to do loops rather than just do circles in the sky. I can do that with Eachine but not HH.
@@Thfeyhvfdetyhbvcd yeah I understand. Hey if you get a little more involved in the HH receivers w/gyros you can tune in the bank angles and amount gain you like. It seems intimidating at first but after doing 1 or 2 it's really pretty simple. If I can be of help hit me up!
My dude, you might have the answer to my question. I have this exact plane and I can't get throttle.... All other controls work (rudder, etc.....), but no throttle. I've scoured the internet and can't find anything. Followed the binding instructions too....
Plug in the airplane battery, sit it on the ground level, out of the wind, no movement. Turn on the transmitter at 0 throttle. Should bind. Throttle up, and down and it should be live. If this doesn’t work, do the transmitter on first, then airplane power, then throttle up down. Also, where did you buy yours and in what condition? If new at a hobby shop, they should be the ones taking care of you. If used, whoever sold it to you may have known something. If through our link, we thank you very much! Happy Flying!! 👍💯😎⚓️
cause of its price i may actually get this, i noticed Amazon pretty much has a version of this at the same price but by a certain VOLANTEXRC RC If this one indeed made and comes from the US, 100% will look at buying from them more, God bless and i shall see ya folks in your next one. yes i'm aware this is technically an old video lol
@@EastCoastLtd We can assume so but until we get our hands on one, can't be sure they are using one of the standard protocols. It'll probably be V761 like the Eachine and Volantex.
I have 5 or 6 of these. Charge all batteries before you head out and depending you'll get 7 to 10 minutes of flight each battery. I've found that there's power fade as the battery runs down with most of these 1s batteries so even if you don't use a timer you'll start knowing when to bring it in. For the transmitter that comes with the planes, the AA batteries last fairly long. I just buy cheap batteries from a dollar store. There's not much power output and I find the batteries oxidized before running out.
See where that battery loads?? THATS why it flies better... The echines do ok off stabilizd if you move the weight around . they come waaaaaay tail heavy so they porpoise like crazy
Rage RC is an off brand of the original mini warbirds, which is Eachine. At least this brand is backed by a very large company, Horizon Hobby. That makes a huge difference if you ever need support for any reason. HH is also located here in the States, which certainly helps. Usually 2 day shipping on top of all of that. Happy Flying!! 👍💯😎⚓️
Is it just me or do these look a lot like the Volantexrc airplanes? Also, can you bind other Spektrum radios to these planes like the NX10? If so, I'm selling my Volantex and getting one of these.
Roll rate is terrible - they really should have placed the ailerons further outboard on the wings. (Price point decision- enginnering a single servo roll axis setup on the inboard wing is cheaper, and easier to implement than doing it the "right" way.)
Most RC stuff dosent spin a 3 or (in the case of a P51) 4 blade prop - the additional rotating mass isn't efficient. On an inexpensive little rig like this to spin a 3 or 4 blade, you'd need to upscale the ESC or risk pulling more amps than the stock ESC can handle and letting the magic smoke out of it. You'd gain a little low end torque, and faster acceleration, but at the expense of additional drag, and a lower top speed.
How can you say the echine won't do exactly what that does come on Nate?, I own the Warbird collection, Is fluid yesterday, It'll do whatever you want.
All of my Eachine birds fly erratically out of stabilized mode and that’s the honest truth. Literally the only difference in the two is the one in this video flew well out of stabilized mode too. All just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt, but I’ll always be honest about my experiences. 💯🙏⚓️
So, does this have AS3X in expert (non self leveling) mode? That is the main drawback of the Eachine/Volantex birds, it's either self leveling or no gyro assist at all
I believe it's the same as the TopRc P-51 which flys much better than the echine/volantex planes. I got the TopRc version for $55 and it's fantastic. Sadly, the horizon paint job doesn't look at good or as scale. But it is nice to see that at least they badge engineered a good plane!
That TopRc P-51 is a dog...Mines lucky to get off the ground and uses the same 1020 coreless motors as the 400mm Volantex birds. This HobbyZone uses a bigger motor from what Brian Phillips said, but can't verify that as there is no spec listing of motor size.
Oh my gord (omg and oml combined). I have to get one of those! I also need to check out the new-ish mini warbird from eachine since they have clear canopies now.
I'm going to have to pick up one of these! What is the estimated shipping time when ordering these online? I've only bought planes in person or in store.
Sounds like the perfect small plane to pack on the road with you! Sadly these are now showing they won’t be available until October. That HAS to be a website mistake or something because I was told they had a ton in stock and customers would likely get theirs before we had ours! I’m guessing the website just needs updated, but we will see. Maybe they caught an issue with them that needed sorted out? We have no clue. Again, my money is on the website needing updated? 🤔⚓️
Stuff like this tempts me to make a USA MADE something... truly US produced gear... i wonder if people would pay the difference in cost though... US production IS more expensive. Noone is ACTUALLY producing them in the US because of the costs involved.
Do not kid yourselves, these are REBRANDED kits ,it is not HH designed it is the exact same as the Eachine and Volantex and QIDI and other such style planes . HH could not stand the fact those other brands were selling better than theirs ( UMX at twice the price ) so they basically ( like China companies did to them years back ) they now are doing to those fellow Chinese companies and FYI all HH products are Chinese manufactured as well as they ALL are Chinese brands....so basically they ALL have gotten together to sell Chinese products in the US and claim because HH is an American company people assume it is a better product. However HH products over the years have had far more issues then they use to and the reason is the "Made in China" slave labor that is building them . " I say slave labor because they are under Chinese Government control". much like ALL RC companies as ALL are manufactured in China which is a Communist ran country and the Crushed boxes still happen even went shipped from HH itself, so the real ones in trouble are those who "think" saying it is a HH sold product it makes it better....so many people are so gullible !!! You can rarely find anything Built in America today, most all of it comes from overseas and there is no one to blame but us who buy it up instead of demanding it all be built in the USA before we do ( but we would have to pay higher prices to get it ) another ploy from our own Fed Government and their Chinese partners. Ur Welcome
I'll have a look at it. Its easy to see if their fuselage are exactly the same, but I'm worried about the wing. I want to see the comparison in airfoil and wing tip. The trim tab lines are also probably more scale than the volantex. There's lines that could better with the volantex. One gripe I have with the mini eachine mustang is the non scale ailerons. There's no line showing where flaps and ailerons divide because it has ailerons like a Pitts and not a mustang. I don't know if you've already seen one in person, but I'd look at these details before claiming that they're the same. It could be way better than the eachine in terms of details. I look forward to getting one to find out.
@@xxskippernate409xx6 They ALL are Chinese manufactured and when others were selling more HH wanted in to get that "American" title added in. BUT make no mistake those few small details mean little in the long run. From the prop saver, to the push button rolls/ loops is the exact same set up in all the other brands .
Those servers are better than the micro linear servos on umx planes. They dont jitter. This is facts 🤚 I enjoy your content! Question, what wind do you on average get? Because, all i can fly is umx planes, and everday nonstop its 15-30kmh winds. It just SUCKS.
Unlike the eachine, this one has ailerons where the landing flaps are on the real one. All you need to do to add flaps is relocate the aileron linkage outboard and install a flap servo and linkage where the current ailerons are. The eachines ailerons do not line up with the real ailerons or flaps, youd have to cut the ailerons off add flaps and ailerons of the correct placement along the length of the wing, aka scale ailerons...or as i call em.."scailerons". This one would be super easy to add scale ailerons with flaps. Im picky about scale details, but with my eachine, beggers cant be choosers.
I am kicking myself hard now. Horizon hobby tried repeated times to sell this to me about a month ago. I didn't buy it, because I thought it was the same as the eachine. I went to look to order it now, and it says that it's on backorder through October.

Ah, but Eachine / Volantex are bringing out a 500 brushless Mustang , release date is soon !
Wait ...what? When?!
@@rhysespeace late June .
The 500 is amazing. I have the Volantex with the Eachine on order now.
I really love the paint job on the Volantex 500.
Tell him, if he flys forward and back to you rather than across left to right you can keep him in frame easier..👍
Looks like it flew amazing! 🎉
ABOUT D@#%! TIME😂 a mini warbird that can fly out of safe👏🏼 just really wish it had a brushless motor 😔 well at least it flies 😁 great review guys✌🏼
Beautiful Mustang!! Like the color scheme!
Can this be bind to a spektrum radio?
Very nice, glad to see Horizon coming out with an affordable starter plane
We are honestly very happy to see this in their lineup too! 👍💯😎⚓️
I like those servos and the access hatch. I have a bunch of UMX planes, and I really dislike those micro servos.
Abby and Nate, y'all rock! Love the channel and content. Peace
Very impressive! Could this be flown as a beginner?
Absolutely yes. A lot of people have learned to fly on this type of plane! The biggest downside is the size of the plane. Just don’t wanna fly too far away so that you can’t see it. Happy Flying! 👍💯😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors Thanks!

Different brand, but we do have this video for ya from about a year ago! 😁⚓️
Can the transmitter be converted to mode 1 ?
These are not available right now as per your link. You can pre-order with a delivery in October 2024.
I realized that while we were making our links and looking at the website. No clue why this is. I was told customers could have them before us. 🙃❤️⚓️
Love it Nate and Abby. ❤ God bless
Must have sold out. Now pre-order and not shipping until October...
Nasty Nate should make a rap video:) it would be hilarious
So the aileron servo is the landing skid?
Yes, when the landing gear isn’t installed. I’ve flown these pretty rough, and quite a few times and have never had an issues with that set up. 👍💯⚓️
What's y'all's opinion on that Tyxin 678 jet boat - think that's the number. Looks kinda like the Geigo one you had.
Get good
That's true of all Spektrum planes, jets....probably hundreds of airplanes, you've got to be able to turn off safe mode. If you can't fly without turning's off gyros, you are still learning the basics of flying.
And there's nothing matter with that. We're all still learning, just some of us are learning more complex things.
I'm trying to figure how to get a good snap roll!
@@HciContractor
I can fly the larger planes without SAFE, but not these tiny things.
Why are you trying do an advanced maneuver in safe mode?
I ordered one with your link, but... "Next shipment October 2024"
I’m early today and happy flying 😊😊😊😊⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
its just rebranded as hobby zone.. just like echine and volentax are the same plane .. it still came from china....
What radio do you use to listen for air traffic where you fly?
We just ordered the sonic wave v2 from your link with the fathers day promo. Just wanted you to know so you can check to male sure you get the credit.
Nate and Abbey fun video and it’s about time for HH to offer micros. Jeff in LA USA
But the new eachine has a 4 bladed prop. Does this?
cause of its price i may actually get this, i noticed Amazon pretty much has a version of this at the same price but by a certain VOLANTEXRC RC
If this one indeed made and comes from the US, 100% will look at buying from them more, God bless and i shall see ya folks in your next one. yes i'm aware this is technically an old video lol
Nice review. You guys make a great team!
Thank you! 🙏💯😎⚓️
Love the Nasty Nate transformation.
Does this have AS3X, or is manual mode truly manual, like all the other mini warbirds?
I found the same motor and batt as the echine warlords, in a bigger heavier plane made for a slow and a little underpowered flight
So it's basically using the same power setup in a bigger airframe?
Will we be able to bind it to our better radios like my NX or multi-protocol Radiomaster 4in1?
Of course, tx16s w/ 4 in 1
@@EastCoastLtd We can assume so but until we get our hands on one, can't be sure they are using one of the standard protocols. It'll probably be V761 like the Eachine and Volantex.
@@shanesdiy well, unless it's fly sky ANT, there will be a protocol.
Great plane to get new people interested in flying
Howi g will it fly on a battery charge, what kind of RC transmitter do you need?
TX included
I have 5 or 6 of these. Charge all batteries before you head out and depending you'll get 7 to 10 minutes of flight each battery. I've found that there's power fade as the battery runs down with most of these 1s batteries so even if you don't use a timer you'll start knowing when to bring it in. For the transmitter that comes with the planes, the AA batteries last fairly long. I just buy cheap batteries from a dollar store. There's not much power output and I find the batteries oxidized before running out.
DO you prefer the Wiltoys P51 A280 or this one ???
Will these work with Spektrum DSM radios?
Horizon has still been too greedy for too long for me to give them any of my money. Same with spektrum.
See where that battery loads?? THATS why it flies better... The echines do ok off stabilizd if you move the weight around . they come waaaaaay tail heavy so they porpoise like crazy
What's their protocol?
V761 TopRc
@@Mikeylikesit1968yea that’s the same for Volantex ones too.
Does that have a bigger motor than the 1020 coreless motors in the 400mm Volantex warbirds?
How does this compare to the rage rc micro war birds
They are TOP RC aircraft
I heard the HobbyZone version has a bigger motor. The TopRc P-51 needed a bigger motor as the 1020 coreless that was in it, was barely adequate.
The p51 didnt have two blades on its prop.. huff, wait made in US, its beautiful 😍
Most RC stuff dosent spin a 3 or (in the case of a P51) 4 blade prop - the additional rotating mass isn't efficient.
On an inexpensive little rig like this to spin a 3 or 4 blade, you'd need to upscale the ESC or risk pulling more amps than the stock ESC
can handle and letting the magic smoke out of it.
I like your PS T-shirt 👍🏻
Clicked the link. Next shipment October... bummer
I was told they were shipping to all customers before we would get ours. 💯⚓️
@@MrDLRu my toprc p51 hauls but. It's definitely not underpowered. I wonder what the difference is?
@@drivingjunk7630 ...take a wild guess
Very good review
Oh my gord (omg and oml combined). I have to get one of those! I also need to check out the new-ish mini warbird from eachine since they have clear canopies now.
I'm going to have to pick up one of these! What is the estimated shipping time when ordering these online? I've only bought planes in person or in store.
I'm on the road for work and I'm only at each location for a week at a time.
@@TheRcSaylors thank you for letting me know. I'll keep checking it cuz I'll be on the road for at least another month
@@TheRcSaylors I have emailed them to try to figure this out. I will let you know what they say when they respond.
@@TheRcSaylors They still have not responded. Have you heard anything?
Nasty Nate missed his moment with Angry Abbey
Oh man! That’s so much better! 😅💯⚓️
Stuff like this tempts me to make a USA MADE something... truly US produced gear... i wonder if people would pay the difference in cost though... US production IS more expensive. Noone is ACTUALLY producing them in the US because of the costs involved.
Sooo that’s a Rage RC P-51… is that foam squishy or brittle so they make money on spare parts too??
There’s about 5,000 rebrands of this type of airplane now, however each has some subtle, and some very obvious differences! 👍💯⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors ahhh
Does it use the same e-shine prop?
Eachine, but ya.
They've had 100 dollar umx p51 before. Glad to see they brought it back.
Usually UMX planes are brushless set ups that are around 3-4S power. This airplane (while very good) is a brushed power system. 👍💯😎⚓️
Those servers are better than the micro linear servos on umx planes. They dont jitter. This is facts 🤚
I enjoy your content!
Question, what wind do you on average get? Because, all i can fly is umx planes, and everday nonstop its 15-30kmh winds. It just SUCKS.
Thank you !
