I absolutely love the Chiao Goo Mini Twist Interchangeables. It’s like “day and night” compared to what I’ve used in the past. Also, they can be purchased singly as cords and tips if a knitter doesn’t want to buy the set. When I next teach my sock classes, I’ll be recommending them, especially for Magic Loop. Thanks for the review, it was extremely helpful and I now have my all time favorite sock needles ❤❤
Had the chinoGoo twist minis now for about 4 years they are fantastic needles, knit all my sock with them ,my cable has kinked a little but dose not interfere with the knitting will replace the cable one of these days
Thank you Colleen for this review, I own ChiaoGoo mini twits and I absolutely love them. I might buy a couple extra 2.00 mm and 2.25 mm tips plus 2 extra 40 inches mini cords, so I can work on more than one pair of socks at a time. I choose to always knit my socks two at a time, toe up, too lazy to count rows to make my sock same lenght, plus my tension may vary according to my level of stress or according to the light, if I knit during the day or during the night, I have a slight retinal problem. Blocking my socks helps a lot but knitting them two at a time makes them just perfectly paired. More needles and cords could help if I want to knit vanilla socks, when tired, or more complex patterns when rested. The great thing with ChiaoGoo interchangeables is you can buy the needles and cords separatly, thus no need to buy two sets of minis. What I like most about my ChiaoGoo is the possibiity to change the needles, keeping the same cord, when knitting a section of color work or when I come to the ankles and calves, I have small ankles but big calves, so I can keep the same count of stitches but make the calves bigger and the ribbing perfect by increasing or decreasing the needle size as I knit up the legs. I have also bought adapters to insert the small needles 2.75 mm or 3 mm on the same mini very flexible cord. This makes my socks knitting a real charm.
Thank you so much for doing the review I have a couple of circular needles and they get all twisted I bought a set of wooden ones lykke I love them they are very nice but I would like to get some metal ones so I think I’m going to get the twisted minis.
I would have to agree with your choices! I haven't tried the interchangeable Chiaogoo but the fixed are my absolute favorites. I have a lot of my Mom's old circular needles and they are horrible!!!! We've come a long way!
I have the ChiaGoo red lace interchangeable had them now for about 4 years absolutely love them but in time the cables do kink but dose not interfere with the knitting of your sock, my tension is consistent when knitting, would not knit socks with any other needle
Lots of great information on these needles. Thank you Colleen. I do think some of them would behave differently if they weren't used for magic loop. I'm hoping to get into socks more this year and give magic loop a try. The chai goo set would be nice to have. Now you have lots of socks to finish but I'm sure you will. :)
Interesting review I have a couple of knitpro zing circulars and the join isn't as smooth as my addi needles. I use two circulars for socks so cable memory isn't so important.
Thanks for the in-depth needle review, Colleen! I have tried magic loop before, but I pulled out the wrong needle too often. However, I am looking for circular sweater needles. I will soon start to try my hands at knitting sweaters. What needles would you recommend? I have tried a Chiagoo 9” and Knitter’s Pride Zing DPNs for socks after my bamboo DPN broke in the middle of first set of decrease for the instep for socks. Those were FB knitting group members’ recommendations for socks. However, I am in the market to buy 24” or longer circular needles for sweater or shawl, what would you suggest? I don’t have the finance to try a whole bunch of needles. Any insights would be most appreciated. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with needles! Keep up the awesome work! ❤️❤️👍👍🌟🌟☺️☺️
I really enjoy Chiaogoo Circular needles. You can buy them as fixed circulars or you can buy them as an interchangeable set. I have used these to knit sweaters and found them great to work with. Stay Safe, Colleen and May
I am glad that you liked it. I know shipping is probably costly, but I know that you can order the yarn online from Michaels craft store. Take Care, Colleen and May

Hi Nicole,
I love this idea of using a larger needle for the ribbing. Thanks so much.

Great review. This may be the year I take the plunge into magic loop. I've been using strictly DPNs up to now.
Glad it was helpful!
Would you like me to try to do a tutorial on knitting socks using Magic Loop?
Take care,
Colleen and May
I would certainly like to see that. I watch all your podcasts!
Thank you for doing this. I use chia goo mini and I love them. I also have Addis but I find the cord is not as nice but I do love the needles.
You are so welcome!

Very good information Collen. Would you be able to show how you do 2 at a time socks on a magic loop? Thanks
Yes I can. May and I will start working on this tutorial right away.
Thanks for the suggestion.
