I know I said I preferred wooden needles in a comment on another video, but I have since tried these Knitters Pride (KnitPro in the U.K.) mindful collection needles, and I’ve got to say I am a convert to stainless steel, these are the best and pointiest needles I’ve ever used. I don’t think I’m ever going to use any other needle but these from now on! I love the swivel cords, and just everything about this collection!
I think I am done with my wooden needles era because of the friction (lack of it to be exact). I knit quite tight and I happen to be more and more frustrated that the loops on the needles won't slip through them so smoothly, most of the time I have to force them to move and because of that I can't knit much as I get cramps in my hands. All of my sock needles are metal and I also have 2 pairs from mindful collection and I can say - those are very decent, not problematic at all and I think these will be my Christmas' gift this year ❤
I bought a pair of circular mindful lace needles and have found them to be the very best needles I’ve ever used! With the lace needles, I never have split yarns and can purl through the back loop with no trouble. Love these needles!
I love knitters pride in general. I particularly like the interchangeable ones for a few reasons. I love it that if I have several WIPS going at once (and who doesn't), I can remove the needles to use on another project and I put the stoppers on the cord so I'll never drop stitches while tossing in its project bag. Another thing is that I like is that this company has these round tags embossed with a needle size so you can slip that size tag on the cord before putting the stoppers on so that when you return to your project, you'll never have to struggle to remember what size needle you were using when you last worked on that project!!! That's been a game changer for me. I used to think i could remember what size i was using.....I never could. Nothing is worse than knitting for hours only to notice that you were using the wrong size all along. This size tags were included with some of the older sets but I'm sure they can be ordered separately and wouldn't cost much. I love a 4 inch "shortie" set that allows me to put a shorter 8 inch cord, bought separately on Amazon so I'd have a 16 inch for hats. Knitters pride makes every cord size imaginable! The slick Nova Platina finish has held up for years and cord joins are smooth. The tips are sharp enough for lace work as well. Good products all around. The only fault i experienced is that my older cords have a retained memory which I'm not wild about but I see they've fixed that issue. I'm getting me some of them new swivel cords that don't kink and twist!!!! Sorry comment so long. I just love their products.
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I'm about a week away from investing ina complete set so this is perfect 👍😍 update: just watched this video and definitely going with the Gratitude set! I was contemplating the red cord ones but now realize I would prefer the KP set. Thanks again 🧶🧶
I find many of your points as to why they are the best mimic my opinions about the ChiaoGoo interchangeable Red Lace Cable needles. If you haven't tried them you might give them a try as well. :) Thanks for the review.
They are so lovely! Just did a search for knitting needles and saw your channel with using them. So, I had to hop on over to check out the review. Thanks
Just got the "Believe" set and was in love from the very first stitch! I will be buying the FULL set in January; they're stunning and I believe they make knitting Stephen West patterns so much easier!
I am not into metal needles, but if I were, these would probably be my go-to. I am considering getting a few of the sock knitting sizes. I bought a bunch of the swivel cords to use with my Knit Pics square wooden needles. The cords are so nice, especially for magic loop. Thanks for the review.
Thanks very much for the video, I bought the Warmth set (short needles) for greater versatility, and I hope I'm happy with it. What do you think about? I can't wait to try it. Best regards.
Glad the video was helpful! I think the Warmth set is a good set of needles. It may take a little getting used to if you are not used to shorter-tipped needles, but it can be good to hold and control the needles more with the fingertips rather than gripping the needle shaft tightly with the whole hand. Grasping and controlling needle movement mainly with the fingers / fingertips allows for more precise, gentle control, which can be less tiring for the hands. That is the main difference between regular-length needle tips and shorter needle tips - you control the movement of shorter needles more with fingertips rather than a full-hand grasp. I hope this helps!
Hi Devin. For knitting needles, here are my top picks. If you prefer metal needles, I would recommend these stainless steel needles from Knitter's Pride. If you like wooden needles better, my favorite wooden needles are the laminated birch needles from KnitPicks: shrsl.com/3le3e I've tested other brands of wooden needles against the KnitPicks needles, and they outperform the other brands I've tried. For crochet hooks, I love the Furls Odyssey, Furls Streamline, shrsl.com/3l29g and Clover Amour hooks amzn.to/3QEQzn8 best. I hope this helps!
I’ve read a few reviews and watched a video that mentioned the cords on the Mindful interchangeable tend to break easily, especially at the point where the cord joins the needle tip. Can anyone who’s used the sock set for a good amount of time comment on this? I currently have ChiaoGoo fixed circulars and love them.
Hi Dana! Yes, the connection is smooth, and allows the stitches to glide over smoothly. The sizes are marked in a way that is not painted on, but still leaves the metal totally smooth, with no texture to it. So I don't know what the correct term for this type of marking is, but it is permanent and does not leave any texture on the surface for the yarn to rub against, like engraving would. I hope this helps!
Hi. I don't think I have any Addi rockets yet, but I think the Mindful Collection needles are slicker than the other steel needles I have tested, including Chiaogoo and Knitter's Pride Nova Platina. If I have opportunity to test them against the Addi rockets, I'll let you know how they compare.
@@YayForYarn thank you very much. I loved your review on knit picks interchangeable wooden needles set and recently purchased one for myself. My favorite needles so far. Thank you.
Why I shy away from interchangeable is because in the past I have had them disconnect at the join so you had to frequently check to make sure the join stays tight, what is your experience with this problem.
Hi Barbara! If your needles are disconnecting from the cords, it's because they need to be tightened with the cord key, not just tightened with your fingers alone. At about 37:09 in the video, I show how to do this. When you tighten with the cord key, you don't have to worry about the needle tips coming detached from the cords while you knit. I hope this helps!
I would enjoy seeing a video comparing different needles of different price ranges

Dental floss makes the perfect thread for using as a lifeline and it comes with its own thread cutter!

Just a heads up: the Chiaogoo lace tip needles do NOT have the bended needles 👍
I'm a collector. I love them too. I really like the points.

I completely agree. I have them and absolutely love them.
Thank you so much for your thorough review! It was helpful, informative and super useful. 😊
Very nice, looks like a good competitor to Chiaogoo.
Awesome review! Thank you!

Hi yay how are you doing today I'm doing fine today thank you for the information stay safe 😊 ☺ 🙂
What a coincidence I was watching your boomerang shawl video .
I would love to see you compare some of the knitting needles you’ve tried! What other needles or crochet hooks do you recommend?

Are the markings on the cable in inches only or in cm as well?
They are in inches. I hope this helps!
Thank you. Those look very nice. Are the sizes etched into the metal? Is the connection smooth between the needle and cord?

Is it true that Knitters pride cords also fit Knit Picks tips?
Yes!
@@YayForYarn thanks, that's what I heard.
How do these compare to Addi rockets? The last ones are the slickest needles I have ever worked with. Thank you.

I use the pin to tighten, but still have the needles loosen over time. I think the swivel feature may help.
