I would like to know if a toxicology report is forthcoming. That usually takes several weeks in homicide investigations. I was thinking maybe the people were incapacitated by someone who slipped them a drug. Then they would be defenseless.

Well then the other roommates doors were locked then so they couldn't get in to their room??? They best get an arrest or there will be un uprising after the holidays.
There's several cases of it being done if anything it's easier than a gun since a gun alerts everyone in a area compared a knife there's a lot of cases of mass stabbings in crowds and no one knowing whose stabbing because it's easier to slip through the crowd and hide

if you're in a group and someone tries to attack you, everyone needs to attack the attacker. you may be injured but that beats certain death. idc if you have a knife and 3 of the 4 defenders are smaller females, if your mission is to kill 4 people it's going to be a lot harder to do that when everyone is swarming you and doing their best to overpower you. this is why when people are taught to survive active shooter situations they are taught that if they can not escape they must attack and overpower the aggressor.

This is why I'm a firm believer of College and University students staying on-campus especially if they are in Undergrad. On-campus life is like a bubble onto itself and should be enjoyed until you graduate and during Homecomings.
Here in Washington State we had a high school student (17 years old) shot dead by a 14 year old student. They were apparently arguing over a cell phone and the gun used in the crime. Details have not been released but witnesses suggest they belonged to two opposing gangs. It has not been reported yet where the gun was obtained from, but Washington recently passed a law that gun owners must lock up their guns or face penalties if they are stolen and used in a crime. Obviously it is illegal for a handgun to be owned by a 14 year old and apparently this 14 year old obtained the gun used in the murder from a 15 year old that was with him. No word yet on where the 15 year old obtained the gun. So to re-cap: It's against the law for a minor to own a handgun. It's against the law to have a gun on school grounds. It's against the law to steal(handguns or anything else for that matter). It's against the law to sell stolen merchandise (like handguns). And as of '22 in Washington; it's against the law to keep a gun unsecured in your home when you are not there. So I bring this up because two days after this murder there was a walkout by Seattle area students that marched down to city hall demanding safety and that something be done about "gun" crime. Like what? Like gun laws I just cited that are already in place? I didn't see any signs in their midst that decryed gang activity in their schools. I didn't see any signs that said "we need to fix broken family structure in our society" or any signs that said "single moms can't control teenage boys, dads please raise your children". It made me wonder after seeing this horrific murder scene in Idaho; if a gun was used instead of a knife, would this Idaho college student body be out protesting "gun"crime. Maybe they should protest "knife"crime. Maybe Idaho needs more knife laws. And what about when we always hear about college kids drinking too much and having accidents or deaths as a result. Does that ever result in a call for more liquor laws? When people drive drunk or speed and kill themselves and others, do we ever ban sports cars or say we need more liquor laws? I realize this probably isn't the appropriate crime for my rant but you see four innocent lives taken and realize that if not for the type of weapon, there would be media and community indignation that something wasn't done about the tool used. The focus belongs on the perpetrator, their motives and how that can be addressed so that they and others with the same issues cannot keep victimizing society. Focus on the tool used only serves to slightly inconvenience the criminally minded while eroding the freedoms of civilized society.

It is said that the couple attended a party or a gathering of some kind and I think THAT is the starting source of this problem. Maybe someone said something that offended someone else and THAT is something I would be taking a hard look at. Somehow or another the perpetrator (I would say avenger or revenger) got into the house and the other people were possible witnesses who needed to be silenced. We ALL need to be a lot more vigilant in vetting our people and our surroundings, oftentimes when things start to get hot or stupid, it's time to leave. It feels a little random tho, doesn't it? If it were a robbery gone wrong, they'd have said that, wouldn't they? But, no mention of anything stolen or taken, no forced entry. To be fair, the reporting doesn't even seem to confirm that the victims died inside the house, only that that is where the bodies were found. There has to be substantial explanation why the two found alive aren't suspects. It's a small town - if there were some jilted lover out there somewhere, they'd be suspect numero uno. If there were a direct connection the police would already have that via cell phones, social media, town gossip, etc. The FBI doesn't just show up to do behavioral analysis out of kindness. They are there to build a MO for the killer(s). I think this was more a crime of opportunity, rather than passion. Not saying you are wrong, my gut feelings are just going in a different direction.

What we know so far is that the University doesn’t care. They continued business as usual, and most of the students didn’t even know it happened days after. Police said it wasn’t a threat, except you know…there’s a murderer at large 😅
People are trashing the police because they aren't giving these whiny babies what they want. These people don't care about the case. All they care about is finding out all the details. But like the one man said, they can't give out all the details. That would jeopardize both the investigation and any future prosecution. The most important thing is finding out who did this and bringing them to justice.

The Moscow City residents (e.g., farmers, employees of UI, and others) have Norman Rockwell Values. That leaves the members of the partying scene at UI. There was no rape. Therefore, what is left is a strong dislike by some women for other women. They asked their boyfriends to do the act.
I called my son in college to tell him to stay alert! This case 4 students + LSU cheerleader killed both murderers haven’t been found. I feel so sad for these siblings and parents. Hits me in the gut!

They knew the cause of death, the autopsy was probably to determine the time and order of death - which, the reporting lacks information on. While the manner of death was released, other non-fatal injuries were not released. And WHO found the bodies? It isn't explicitly stated that the two survivors found them and called 911, so who did? I think the killer left information in the house. The cops know who the "main" target. Now they just need to figure out who. I believe they will figure out the who and then let everyone know more information. We just need to let them do their job.

It’s possible that the victims were inebriated, sleepy, and/or also slipped something to make them vulnerable to a surprise attack. It’s possible the killer silenced each one so as they wouldn’t make enough noise to wake up their roommates. It’s also possible that the killer stabbed each victim in separate bedrooms and that the rooms were separate enough that the noise made in any altercation would have been too minimal to wake up the roommates (especially if they are heavy sleepers and/or inebriated). It’s possible there were multiple assailants. If the victims had time to see the assailant and the distance between themselves to alert someone, then I’m sure the roommates would have heard. Still a lot to be revealed in the case, so it’s very easy to postulate why someone is negligent, but there are too many unknown variables to come up with informed guesses at this time.

One thing tho is that they said one of the students body was up against the basement door so they couldn’t get out… that says to me that one of them was trying to get help or maybe fell down the stairs … I do know that we get used to all kinds of sounds and being in a basement can perhaps close off some noise and maybe they ran a fan or a sound machine. Someone in one of my neighborhood groups said she forgot to let her dog in and she was so tired she fell asleep with her sound machine on high and she never heard her dog barking all night nor the phone ring nor her neighbors knocking on her door at 3 am nor the police who came over banging on the door. She said her exhaustion and perhaps a little wine and the sound machine put her in a deep sleep and she didn’t wake up till the morning. So I guess it’s possible to not hear ( although that’s been my biggest question is how did no one hear anything because I’ve also heard the sounds of someone being murdered is very different than any sound ever to be made … but it’s true that perhaps the evil person snuck into each room and began stabbing and they had no chance ….. but what about the one whose body was against the basement door ??? Not random. Random would leave to many clues and noise. Killing four people while two people are still in the house sleeping and alive with no injury. Plus a dog present is not random. They knew their killer and their killer knew them.

My other theory is that the killer and the victims knew each other and the killer is a student in Idaho University as well. Rich kid and family members with deep powerful ties. 5 days and no murder suspect? 2 roommates unscathed? 4 bodies butchered with a RAMBO KNIFE and NO SCREAMS heard? No DOG barking? 8-9 hour window and only by NOON the bodies are discovered? Who called 911? This is straight up like the movie MYSTIC RIVER.

Yep. According to one of the victim’s sister, it is a party house (has always been for many many years) so the code is not a secret to everyone.
Possible sliding doors were unlocked as well. I know there was at least 3 sliding glass doors leading to balconies.

I have learned more by reading comments than from useless police updates. Makes me think some of the comments are correct and police could benefit from reading them. They have described their department as 'having a lot coming at them'. Then get some help and arrest the perpetrator!

Here in Washington State we had a high school student (17 years old) shot dead by a 14 year old student. They were apparently arguing over a cell phone and the gun used in the crime. Details have not been released but witnesses suggest they belonged to two opposing gangs. It has not been reported yet where the gun was obtained from, but Washington recently passed a law that gun owners must lock up their guns or face penalties if they are stolen and used in a crime. Obviously it is illegal for a handgun to be owned by a 14 year old and apparently this 14 year old obtained the gun used in the murder from a 15 year old that was with him. No word yet on where the 15 year old obtained the gun. So to re-cap: It's against the law for a minor to own a handgun. It's against the law to have a gun on school grounds. It's against the law to steal(handguns or anything else for that matter). It's against the law to sell stolen merchandise (like handguns). And as of '22 in Washington; it's against the law to keep a gun unsecured in your home when you are not there.
So I bring this up because two days after this murder there was a walkout by Seattle area students that marched down to city hall demanding safety and that something be done about "gun" crime. Like what? Like gun laws I just cited that are already in place?
I didn't see any signs in their midst that decryed gang activity in their schools. I didn't see any signs that said "we need to fix broken family structure in our society" or any signs that said "single moms can't control teenage boys, dads please raise your children".
It made me wonder after seeing this horrific murder scene in Idaho; if a gun was used instead of a knife, would this Idaho college student body be out protesting "gun"crime. Maybe they should protest "knife"crime. Maybe Idaho needs more knife laws. And what about when we always hear about college kids drinking too much and having accidents or deaths as a result. Does that ever result in a call for more liquor laws? When people drive drunk or speed and kill themselves and others, do we ever ban sports cars or say we need more liquor laws?
I realize this probably isn't the appropriate crime for my rant but you see four innocent lives taken and realize that if not for the type of weapon, there would be media and community indignation that something wasn't done about the tool used. The focus belongs on the perpetrator, their motives and how that can be addressed so that they and others with the same issues cannot keep victimizing society. Focus on the tool used only serves to slightly inconvenience the criminally minded while eroding the freedoms of civilized society.

It is said that the couple attended a party or a gathering of some kind and I think THAT is the starting source of this problem. Maybe someone said something that offended someone else and THAT is something I would be taking a hard look at. Somehow or another the perpetrator (I would say avenger or revenger) got into the house and the other people were possible witnesses who needed to be silenced. We ALL need to be a lot more vigilant in vetting our people and our surroundings, oftentimes when things start to get hot or stupid, it's time to leave. There are also reports of a "strange man" accompanying one or both of the girls back to the house after they stopped at a food wagon. This guy sounds really suspicious/suspect and needs to be found. Was there a camera on that food wagon?!?!?

Let me share a story from me, me and my kid always pray and one day I had a dream that someone kidnapped my son, I awoke very scared and I told my son about the dream and to be very careful and to don't talk to no body and run fust and yield to help if there's something suspicious, pray hard as we always do and I was praying a a lot also, so I left my son at school then I went to work and my son went off from school 30 min early than my work, so I told him to wait for me at school or runn fast to go home right away after school when many mom's were picking up other kiids and pray 🙏, my son was oround 7 or 8 and we lived 1 block away from school, my son decided to go home running and praying, everything was ok with my son thanks to God, but 2 days later one kid was kidnapped 2 bloks away from my home the same age of my son and almost the same characteristics, I cried and filed so sorry for that kid, I thanked God for protecting to my son but I prayed and my son too for that kid and I believe that the boy apeared safe some days after. SO ALWAYS PRAY AND OF COURSE BE GOOD WITH GOD TOO.

I don't think this was a random act. I have a feeling that a student or faculty member is responsible.
It feels a little random tho, doesn't it? If it were a robbery gone wrong, they'd have said that, wouldn't they? But, no mention of anything stolen or taken, no forced entry. To be fair, the reporting doesn't even seem to confirm that the victims died inside the house, only that that is where the bodies were found. There has to be substantial explanation why the two found alive aren't suspects. It's a small town - if there were some jilted lover out there somewhere, they'd be suspect numero uno. If there were a direct connection the police would already have that via cell phones, social media, town gossip, etc. The FBI doesn't just show up to do behavioral analysis out of kindness. They are there to build a MO for the killer(s). I think this was more a crime of opportunity, rather than passion. Not saying you are wrong, my gut feelings are just going in a different direction.

People are trashing the police because they aren't giving these whiny babies what they want. These people don't care about the case. All they care about is finding out all the details. But like the one man said, they can't give out all the details. That would jeopardize both the investigation and any future prosecution. The most important thing is finding out who did this and bringing them to justice.
I think they were all drugged and then stabbed to death. Plus they knew their killer. You have to get close or be close to your victims in order to do that. I graduated from UI with a BS in Accounting in the early 90s. Moscow doesn't have a transient population like the big cities (e.g., Tacoma). The Moscow City residents (e.g., farmers, employees of UI, and others) have Norman Rockwell Values. That leaves the members of the partying scene at UI. There was no rape. Therefore, what is left is a strong dislike by some women for other women. They asked their boyfriends to do the act.
What we know is that there was no forced entry, so they knew the person or recognized them . They will caught him.
I still believe the other people in the house must know something. It makes no sense they were in the same place and did not see anything.

They knew the cause of death, the autopsy was probably to determine the time and order of death - which, the reporting lacks information on. While the manner of death was released, other non-fatal injuries were not released. And WHO found the bodies? It isn't explicitly stated that the two survivors found them and called 911, so who did? What happened to the guy who left at the SAME time the girls left while staring at them?
It’s possible that the victims were inebriated, sleepy, and/or also slipped something to make them vulnerable to a surprise attack. It’s possible the killer silenced each one so as they wouldn’t make enough noise to wake up their roommates. It’s also possible that the killer stabbed each victim in separate bedrooms and that the rooms were separate enough that the noise made in any altercation would have been too minimal to wake up the roommates (especially if they are heavy sleepers and/or inebriated). It’s possible there were multiple assailants.
If the victims had time to see the assailant and the distance between themselves to alert someone, then I’m sure the roommates would have heard.
Still a lot to be revealed in the case, so it’s very easy to postulate why someone is negligent, but there are too many unknown variables to come up with informed guesses at this time.

I do know that we get used to all kinds of sounds and being in a basement can perhaps close off some noise and maybe they ran a fan or a sound machine. Someone in one of my neighborhood groups said she forgot to let her dog in and she was so tired she fell asleep with her sound machine on high and she never heard her dog barking all night nor the phone ring nor her neighbors knocking on her door at 3 am nor the police who came over banging on the door. She said her exhaustion and perhaps a little wine and the sound machine put her in a deep sleep and she didn’t wake up till the morning. So I guess it’s possible to not hear ( although that’s been my biggest question is how did no one hear anything because I’ve also heard the sounds of someone being murdered is very different than any sound ever to be made … but it’s true that perhaps the evil person snuck into each room and began stabbing and they had no chance ….. but what about the one whose body was against the basement door ??? Or is that not confirmed ???? )

The police seem confused - I suspect they initially thought they knew who did it, and now think that they had the wrong guy. That would explain why they initially said there was "no danger to the public."
