Now THAT is surprising seeing as Argylle failed in the box office with a $96.1 million against a reported budget of $200 million.
Can't wait for them to do the American Society of Magical Negros next year.

This has to be the quickest turnaround from release to Bad Movie review in Double Toasted history.
Henry Cavill should really consider firing his agent. He's very talented, but he keeps choosing the wrong projects.
Michael Fassbender had that same problem too
That was my reaction for his Superman role. You can tell he was trying to be the best version of the character, despite Snyder and the writers holding him back.

Matthew Vaughn has basically become the British Robert Rodriguez, too busy playing with his CGI toys to make a good story anymore. KINGSMAN was in my top 10 that year, but this spy shit has gotten old. And seriously, Henry Cavill needs to star in another movie with Ariana Debose and Bryce Dallas Howard called HOW TO FIRE YOUR AGENT.
Comparing Vaughn to Robert Rodriguez is frighteningly accurate.
And the crazy part is that I put Vaughn over Guy Ritchie. I changed my mind now😂
The last good Robert Rodriguez movie I saw was Alita: Battle Angel.
I’m SO GLAD someone said that about Ariana DeBose. I don’t know if it’s like one of “Oscar curse” moments (which I thought was for best actress winners only) but everything she’s in flops HARD despite her being very talented. Even post pandemic and post Oscar win. Like take a note from Dakota Johnson and fire your agent!!

I feel like Sam Rockwell is the white Don Cheadle. He's amazing at drama and comedy and he elevates every scene that he's in

I feel like this movie solidifies that Matthew Vaughn has turned into Robert Zemeckis, where he becomes obsessed with one quirk to the point where the quality of his films begin to decrease.

I think what killed me was Samuel L Jackson in this movie as the former “master spy” for the CIA or whatever but all he did was hang out in his man cave the whole movie watching the NBA. They probably showed up a ol’ Sam Jackson’s house and just filmed the guy watching TV for real.
Also the scene where Bryce Dallas Howard skates on spilled oil while firing guns like she was in Contra was beyond outlandish. 😂
Watched roughly five minutes of this movie before my wife shamed me into picking something else.

This movie was strange in that it felt like it would have been x10 better if they had only been given 1/10th the budget and forced to be creative instead of lazy and indulgent.
I guess this means the only reason for no roast of Rebel Moon 1 & 2 is because it would mean the DT’s would have to watch them all over again. Sometimes the price is too damn high.
It's amazing that, despite all this star power and a huge director, The Lost City used this premise better.
yes this was bad. it also looked so green screened and fake...especially the oil skating and tear gas scenes.

I’m surprised Korey didn’t include the oil skating scene or the colorful hallway shootout/choreographed dance scene with the odd song choice. Both of those scenes were so bad

I think I might have commented this before, but it's almost exactly the same premise as Romancing the Stone (1984). A lonely lady novelist gets caught up in a caper with surprising similarities to the pulp books she's been writing. When she meets her would-be hero, he's not nearly as ideal as the hero she's been writing about. But the unlikely pair team up and beat the odds...

I don't mind when you guys do recent movies in these roast, but I do prefer the old stuff just because it's more exciting to see the unexpected with unfamiliar bad films.
It's like back when I watched the Nostalgia Critic. It was more fun to see him review old movies because it was a lot more fun witnessing really crazy moments in bad films I've never seen or heard of and having him react to it.

If they ever make another Tekken live action film, Henry Cavill needs to play Paul Phoenix.
Another big issue with this movie is Matthew Vaughn thinking that the movie is going to be such a hit that we're going to even want more of them. Like his shtick is definitely getting old now and I'm hoping this is the wake-up call he needs to change things up a bit. It's funny that Cory also mentions Zack Snyder and loving his imagery more than the story because he has the exact same problem as Vaughn has here, trying to make a franchise first rather than just a good movie!
