    I like how people are complaining that this movie is too violent or they want to see a less offensive plot as if this was just another fiction Hollywood film! I saw it and it's horrifically amazing because it's realistic. People all over the US should see this so that they realize the very real and prevalent danger of human trafficking not just in foreign countries, but right here!

      The so-called 'true story' has been exposed as a lie. Be careful what you believe, especially when there is a sensationalistic Hollywood movie that's trying to get your money to watch it.
      Yes there is human trafficking and sexual slavery in the real world, but don't expect it to look *anything* like one of these sensationalistic movies.
      Just like the UVA 'gangrape' story, so many times some journalist or author wants to make a name for themselves, so they fall for or create a sob story that will titillate people's prurient fascination with prostitution, rape and exploitation.
      The whole "Rape Culture" narrative is a fucking lie, people.

    This happens every day, and is still happening. When the credits come on the screen for us, at the end of the movie, we go home, and sleep in bed and forget about it all. But there are girls out there who live this every day and there is no credits before slumber... they live and breath horror.

      Lord Slime You literally have so much contempt for women that in your heart when you see a woman suffer you don't think it is terrible. You think "But there are men and boys this happens to!"
      It is really quite alarming how men like you can be so hateful.

    • @egw6659
      @egw6659 9 лет назад +61

      ***** I know men are sex trafficked but I've worked for a sex trafficking organisation and 98% of victims are women and girls. What does that tell you?
      If you're going to get serious about tackling sex trafficking you really need to acknowledge that it's something that happens to females by men, overwhelmingly so. I don't give a shit about any diversionary misogynist "what about the men" crap.
      If you can't see that saying "oh what about men" is a TEXTBOOK anti-women response to exploitation of women then there's not a lot I can do about it. You just have to be exposed to more of rape culture and how it operates.
      If he really cares about sex trafficked men then good on him. I know for a fact that 90%+ guys who say "what about the men" don't give a shit about exploited men, they are just trying to deny the truth about the horrors women face. And men run sex trafficking gangs so what about that fact? This is a classic misogynist response to rape. It's tantamount to saying 'stop complaining'. Understand?

    • @egw6659
      @egw6659 9 лет назад +16

      ***** I think you're a bit deluded if you think he cares about trafficked men and boys. Do you even realise what 'pegboys' means? Have you bothered to look it up? Maybe instead of policing someone else's methods you should think about the message first.
      Hey don't worry though, in the book of Anti-Feminist Book of Tired Phrases the chapter that we are all "anti-men" is especially well thumbed. I'm used to hearing it. I keep loving and cherishing all the good men in my life regardless. Keep on whatever it is you're doing. It really is of no consequence to me...
      In the meantime, I really wish you well in setting up a non-profit for sex trafficked men.
      "m'am"
      Thank you!

That checks every single #Woke box to make the movie something that Hollywood would approve making, even if it doesn't describe (in the least) the actual demographic make up of the "Johns" in real life.

      slavery ( although TERRIBLE) is not the MOST important issue of our age. I don't know maybe the fact that we are slowly killing our planet is a more important issue. +7afiz I think the problem is that this kind of film can be educational. We can tell that these scenarios are implausible, so it does nothing to educate people on how it CAN happen and the ways in which it does. For some people, it makes them assume all such stories are embellished (having the benefit of living in a cushy 1st-world-country can make it easy for some people to deny reality). So it really is doing harm. :\

    This movie really opened up my eyes and made me see how lucky i am as a person to not be put in that situation. Its shocking to think that this goes on in our world still. To think that this could be going on anywhere. I feel deeply sorry for the people in this world who are and who have been put in this situation. However this film did teach me a very important lesson and that lesson is to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I feel that the blame should not all be put on to the people taking the girls. The men who were hiring these girls had a massive part in it to. To think that some men with child hire young girls makes me sick. I hope that this will one day stop in this world, however for now we just need to help the victims become the person they once were.

      I mean did you really need to watch a fictional movie to know something like this or even worse is happening in the world? If not what did you do to make it better?
      Or is it because you were moved emotionally by the movie, and somehow you think you are "empowered" by the movie and feel great about thinking of helping these fictional characters? And then go back to doing nothing for the real world versions of these slaves?
      I can tell you there are far more worse things going on in the world on a huge scale, but nobody actually gives a shit until someone makes a movie about it, even then, they feel sad for a while, write their emotional comment and get on with their lives, it happens over and over again in history, and it's the same today, right here right now.

    Some people just have unfortunate things coming their way, others can be prevented. In this story, Eden, she could have avoided being abducted if she didn't accept a ride from a stranger. Most things are preventable, for example, don't walk alone at night unless you're in a public and bright place. Park in the front not near vans and dark vehicles. Especially at night. Watch your drink, keep your hand over it at all times. At night wear your hair down if you're walking to your car or in a dark area. There's a lot of tips that can prevent so much. Most of it we already know, some people just have poor fortune, unfortunately.

Matriarchies lead to weakness, the feminisation of anything and everything including boys and men, the regression of society, and eventually, nothing at all as they end up being smashed and taken over by much stronger war like patriarchies who steamroll over them and take over their lands.

    I know a girl who was a victim of sex trafficking. Somehow she escaped and she was in a protection program for woman. She has a daughter out of all this.
    It might sound stupid, but when she told me it made me realize how real it actually is. You hear a lot about it on tv or read it on the internet, but when you hear it from someone who's been through it herself...
    Everyone thinks it can't happen in their town, but it happend in mine and that scares me. If it can happen to her, it can happen to anyone.

      are you kidding?? this is about sex trafficking of females of all ages being trafficked around the world and used as sex object by anyone. there is nothing less violent, in any case its more grotesque and sad. this happens daily its not just a movie this stuff actually happens to innocent people and its extremely sad.

    • @omegaraiel

      Actually, nothing like either of those two films. This is actually far more disturbing since it's based on truth. Hostel was horror/black comedy, and Sucker Punch was a girl creating a fantasy in a mental asylum to superimpose her dead sister upon another girl to save her like she couldn't save her sister.

    Speaking from a country that is literally the hub of human traficking, a lot of human trafficking happens due to employers' demands for cheap labour, and not necessarily the sexual kind (though this is what captures the publics imagination most). Areas like manufacturing agriculture and construction are guilty of literally millions of trafficked individuals every year. And trust me they look no where as hot as the girls on this trailer

    • @hadjy
      @hadjy 7 лет назад +30

      so even though this horrendous thing went on regardless of the fact films like this weren't shown in the 60s and 70s, doesn't contradict your misguided comment at all?
      Saying that people will commit paedophilia because they see it on TV, is as retarded as someone claiming violence in video games promotes real violence, or when feminists say "we should teach men not to rape."
      Paedophiles know it's wrong to look at children sexually already (and any feminists reading this, yes, rapists already know it's wrong to rape, and don't assume most men are rapists, or that women can't rape ffs you sexists), they know it's wrong, but they do it anyway. There are some very sick people in the world, and the authorities might not always be there to stop it (or they may be corrupt in the case of all those 70s pop stars found guilty, covering it up) which is why it's a very good idea to learn self defence and carry some pepper spray or a knife with you.
