The guy that played the sheriff deserves a shot at starring in a big budget horror movie. His facial expressions and emotions felt genuine rather than acting.
Extremely kind and generous Mr Reggie King!! Thank you so much for your candor and your very warm remarks!! That is the goal and aim!! And I must say it could not have been possible without the hard work, drive and diligence, of my fellow AMAZING thespians!! They all are incredible in their own right and I am so grateful to be a part of this project!! Please stick around for more of this story coming to you hopefully by sometime next month!! So, keep an eye out on Ben's channel and thanks again for your admiration of my work! Hope to se you sometime next month!!👊🏽🙏🏽
Apparently the estimated budget for this was $60,000.... That absolutely blows my mind when Hollywood horrors, which have a budget of millions, can't even come close to how good this horror short is.
Juls!! Thank you so much for taking the time to check this little short out!! Thrilled that you enjoyed it so!! Eveyone attached this project worked very hard on it and I'm so elated that you recognize that. Thanks again for your kindness and love in your commentary of Miner's Mountain! @@henrybazemore It shows all the hard work. I ain't never going to the mountains again for fear of hearing or seeing those creepy creatures!! Fantastically scary!
If short film wasn’t in the title I would have thought this was a scene from a big budget action film. This is incredible! And every actor deserves a job in Hollywood.
The strike should have been about those lesser known and good actors getting paid better, instead of taraji p. Henderson crying because she got "only" 2 million dollars
Dear All, I know many of you are anxiously anticipating Part 2 of MINER’S MOUNTAIN! For that, we are very grateful. Please know, this film has been funded independent of any rich uncles, Hollywood monies, trust funds or anything of the like. MINER’S MOUNTAIN is truly an independent production. It has been a long road and Covid has not helped. Ben has the film edited but we are waiting on the visual effects to be completed. We are on our 3rd visual effects team. Ben has very high standards and we are on a shoestring budget. He wants the absolute best for Part 2 and he is not willing to cut corners. I hope you all can have patience as Ben and team do their best to get Part 2 done right. Thank you. We are grateful for your continued support, patience and interest in the film.
We can only hope.😁 This short film deserved all the accolades that it is getting. Eventhough it's independent, It deserved to be getting more attention. Brilliant job all around 👏 👍🏼 Ben, the production team and the vfx team. Not forgetting the rich uncles.
Better to get it right while you have it, once you give it to us, its forever. Judging from this film, you guys know what you're doing. It was truly amazing.
The sheriff is a tremendous actor. He makes you feel like this is real, and that he witnessed what he saw. The detective was pretty good too. This is one of my all time favorites of the short films. Great job.
I got more tension and chills in 15 minutes than in a full length horror movie, the camera work was excellent, the actor portraying the Sherriff had everything right, down to micro expressions and that twitching when he got pissed off. If more movies were like this, the horror genre wouldn't be as boring as it is today. Hats off to everybody involved in this short.
@@bridgelaurie9490 no your opinion sucks the acti g was good it was like I was in the movie and it felt like there was actual tension in the movie no like many generic ass horror movies
@@jatochgaatjeniksaan3307 I'd have to disagree with ya he is spot on with his role expesualy in comparison to lots of these big time actors who come off as out of place or over acting the majority of the time
Coz it's short and left you wanting more. A lil money makes you want more money. A bit of good food makes your tummy growl for more. Or it's coz it is just that great of a short film.
Hey Hollywood, if you are running out of ideas. You might want to take a look at these indie filmmakers. They have lots of cool original stories. Please stop those mindless remakes and reboots and make something new
Thanks Deni Cahwayan for sharing you thoughts and feelings! And thanks for taking the time to view this short! Stoked that you liked it and we hope you're on board for more as we're gearing to make that happen to your streaming device sometime next month! Thanks so much for watching !
Deni, Thank you! We agree that there are some legitimate stories out there that should be told instead of the remakes and reboots. Thank yo for commenting. We have more coming in September!
@vestiphobe Without certain. There's quite a bit of validity in the things that you are saying, but that doesn't mean that there's other $$ for other projects. So, will continue to stay hopeful! But time will tell!
There's plenty of ideas in Hellywood, they just get turned down. Hellywood is too busy trying to further their social engineering agenda, to make decent, watchable films.
Ggle Sucks- We thank you. Glad that you enjoyed our efforts. Ben made our work as actors easy. He allowed us to explore these characters and bring our ideas to bear. He is a great collaborator and led a great crew! We are grateful for your assessment!
Thanks so much watching this and sharing your thoughts!! To piggyback off of Anthony, Ben is a fantastic collaborator and allowed the "choke collar" off, if you will, so that we could explore and fully flush out every possible color of our characters, within the world of Miner's Mountain without taking away from the integrity of this film.
J B!! Blown away by your kind remarks!! So glad you took a chance on this short film!! It was such a collaborative effort on everyone's part in front or behind the camera, that it was just monumental in scope in such a short period of time!! Everyone worked tirelessly on this to ensure that it was going to be the best product possible!! So, thank you for checking this out again and thank you for your kind appreciation of my work! It truly means a lot and I hope to continue winning your approval of my work!! Best!!
@@henrybazemore great work friend! Cant wait for part 2. Really also appreciate how humbly you respond to the comments here, and write out thoughtful replies. Excited to see what you have to come.

“Wendigos” are people that have committed cannibalism and morphed into a monster, so I think the miners he was talking about must’ve ate each other and the monsters are them years later after turning into Wendigos. I like how this movie didn’t spoon feed the audience with exposition unlike every big budget movie Hollywood releases right now. Its sort of just like, if you know, you know.
The knock from the door is the police. You can tell from the blue and red lights flashing on the other side. The creatures took the opportunity to snatch his wife when his head was turned. This make the sheriff look really guilty. I wonder what happens next! 🙃 who said they needed to be spoonfed? Lol
Andres, Thank you taking the time to watch Ben's Labor of Love finally see the light of day. It was a great time n always phenomenal to work with friends who happen to be exceptionally talented!
AGREE!. I want to know what happened to his wife. I want to know what they wanted. To many questions. It's a great movie to expand on. It's best we don't know but I would like to know more work from this director.
To all wondering about the music. I have done hours of research and I found the following: Revenge by Kerry Muzzey - 15:14 - 16:25 Something can grow by Tony Anderson - This is the violin song that appears at 0:05 - 0:52, 12:19 - 14:00, and 14:50-15:14 Evaporate by Luke Atencio - 4:35 - 5:45 The Summoning by Kyle Preston - 5:58 - 6:50 Because Finally It's Everything Alaskan Tapes - 10:25 - 10:38 I apologize but I couldn't find anything on that one atmospheric song between 3:27 and 4:04 or the song after the summoning between 6:50 and 7:04. My theory is that the song after the summoning is just a rendition of Revenge by Kerry Muzzey. Most disapointingly I couldn't get anything on the music between 10:43 and 14:10. Can't wait for the next movie. Great work Ben.
The acting in this was seriously next level; the gentleman who portrayed the sheriff did an amazing job of making us really feel his internal conflict, and his distinctive voice certainly helped ramp up the tension. I would gladly pay theater ticket price (or, realistically given the current scenario, exclusive streaming price) to watch a feature length version of this.
TheRunesmythe, Blown away by your most generous and charitable adulation!! In my work, nothing gives me more pleasure than to know that I did my job effectively and to the best of my ability. In your benevolent ovation, I know, that, is the benchmark for everyone who worked on Miner's Mountain!! Wow..just wow..this entire short film is a cinematic masterpiece! The actor who played the sheriff needs to be on the big screen! His emotions are pure raw, filled with passion and anger. I felt everything that he felt. I normally talk a lot when watching these films, but I was so silent when listening to the sheriff. He spoke in such a way that captivates the audience, his presence was impeccable, his reactions, his expression, was absolutely incredible. The Wendigos really gives Until Dawn vibes, the acting was absolutely brilliant too! This entire short film needs to be a movie. This is a great watch, the music too!! Absolutely incredible work.
This is one of those rare horror shorts that I wish was longer because I simply didn’t want it to end. This could be a full length episode on an anthology tv series. Henry Bazemore Jr is absolutely phenomenal. He does more with the show of emotions on his face than most jump scares films fail to do, terrify me at the thought of what he witnessed that night. I hope to see him in a feature length horror/thriller soon. Everything about Miners Mountain was amazing.
This was very well done. I could feel what the sheriff was going through, that's how powerful this actor's performance was. The set work, the script, everything about this short is 5 star.
The actor's emotions were raw and amazing. His survivors guilt of leaving the woman behind to die, then his horrified realization his wife was slaughtered by the creatures.
@@tsubakiofmelancholy6297 I am quite jaded already, but this actor nailed it. I am truly impressed. The compassion he displayed, the love, the dawning fear, the horror and the loss. Then the deep anger of being goaded by IA was all very visceral.
@@tsubakiofmelancholy6297His wife didn't get slaughtered from what I saw. The neighbor walked out to his barking dog and his neighbor was the one that got taken. I didn't see anything to assume his wife was slaughtered.
This has to be one of the best short horror films out right now. The sheriff's acting was so believable, the music had such a great tone and the plot was so original. I wish this would be a full length movie.
Zann, so appreciate you giving this a look and feeling as though this is up there with some of the best short horror work that you have seen to date! I personally want to humbly thank you for noting my work as it was incredible working with everyone on this short film! I am so beyond impressed by this short film! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The script, the acting, those tracking shots... this is the kind of effective horror filmmaking that Hollywood often fails to capture with 10x the budget.
So glad you feel this way Richard!! Thank you very much for noticing those details and articulating them! To your point, we would love to put this on its feet in its entirety!! The creatures resemble wendigo, not exactly in appearance, but in origins and abilities, the miners were closed off in the mountain, so if they were trapped instead of crushed then the miners may have resorted to cannibalism, which would have made the wendigo. The abilities of the creatures are (based off of events in the film) speed and strength, because of the creature decapitating the deer carcass in the blink of an eye, the creatures also appear to be intelligent to some capacity, because they stalk their prey, and didn’t kill the prey right away, as seen when the female creature stopped in the middle of the road and stared, and the fact that the presumed wendigos toyed with their prey, dropping the head on the car for example. I, of course am no expert, and I could be dead wrong. Either way 10/10 film, great monster.
Those nightmarish creatures are scary as hell, as their American forest demons. They normally are associated with winter and represents cannabis within American witchcraft.Their once humans when abandoned and starvation they go through an transformation in pale skin with elk like features.
It really gives me Until Dawn vibes. Everything is so mysterious yet intriguing. I can't describe it. I applaud each and everyone of these actors for a SHF. 👏
The pros of this short film: Literally everything, the acting, the story, the creature design, just holy crap. The cons: IT IS A SHORT FILM AND I NEED TO KNOW MORE.

Ditto, caught me off guard. I thought they were 2 different people. Well I mean they are lol but I didn't think it was the younger version of the sherriff
that confused me as well too. I thought it was the same person, but then they don't look anything alike honestly. I had kinda thought the event had taken place a few days prior to the film (unless it said it somewhere and i hadn't noticed) but I was definitively confused since the two don't look the same, I just assumed it's the same person because that's the only thing that made sense and that maybe the lighting made his face look skinnier in the dark

The office confrontation scene is truly outstanding, showcasing top-notch acting from all the cast members. Each actor genuinely deserves a shot at a major Hollywood film.
The music is on-spot, the screech is horrifying, the subtle pause on any background sound when the creature is near is perfect. The silence, the indifference the thing has for immobile vehicles makes a lot of sense too. Also, the fact that they fear humans, even though they consider us prey, gives some sort of animalistic realism to them. They aren't humans... But almost are. I like the acting of the interrogation and the final conversation. All 3 actors are great, but the oldest Sheriff (Henry Bazemore, Jr) absolutely nailed it. His part is all about drama, which isn't something all horror movies manage to do well; But this short surely hit the spot, and they chose an excellent actor for the role.
Very impressed by the final tracking shot from within the house, outside the window, overhead of the dog with a twist, and a pan out to the mountain. Wasn't expecting that from a short. Good job!
I thought it was pretty dope too! Super awesome!! Thanks so much for commenting on Ben and his teams work and we hope you're up for more of that! ruclips.net/video/gG_OUFP2kcc/видео.html

This should be turned into full feature film. That was awesome. The man who played the sheriff was very believable his acting skills are superb. The story flowed nicely and the ending worked well.
Ironic how big box Hollywood films barely hold a candle to these content creators and indie film makers with little to no budget while creating on spare time. Bottom line is, this short film DESERVES to be on the big screen. Great acting and effects the story although short, was amazing! 10/10
The Sherrif needs to be in a major budget film. His expressions put me right next to him starring out that window. Words can't describe the horror I felt seeing him realizing her impending doom.
Wow! This short little film knocked out WAY outta the park!! The acting, the score, the scenery, sfx, everything was on par and above most Hollywood films! To everyone involved, KUDOS!!!

This short was so good the actor playing the sherriff really pulls you in with the emotion and facial expressions he conveys you can feel what he is feeling the fear and the confusion. I will be watching the next episode I can't wait. This had me wanting more of the story.
Madness how big money studios can throw money at projects and make total crap. Then something like this comes along and shows you how its done. All about writing, good actors and great direction. Brilliant
I’m a year late and randomly discovered this masterpiece yesterday. This is insanely good, the atmosphere, the acting, the production… everything! The creatures reminds me of the ones in the movie, The Descent.
I was about to say the same thing!! And the Descent also involved miner's getting trapped in a cave in and getting eaten by the bat like humanoid cryptids in the deep cave system the mine had accidentally cut into which caused the death ☠️ of all the miner's and the eventual collapse..... That was SUCH a good horror movie..... And given continued donations for this short film it has the same capacity to become as great.... The acting was SO spot on I could have sworn I was watching a big budget extended preview.... 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Keep up the good work!!!!
This was so much better than a whole horror movie. I was hooked from the first few moments and was mad when it ended! Could've been a whole movie so good! The man playing the sheriff is a great actor!
For only being 17 minutes long this was amazing! It left me wanting so much more. It was so well produced, well written, and the actors were great. I hope this team get money to make this into a movie or make some good horror movies.

These shorts normally don't have the greatest actors but everyone in this was really great. The sheriff, however, was really phenomenal (Henry Bazemore). I hope to see more of that dude.
I watched while at work at night. Heard a dog barking when I walked out of backdoor to go to car to get home...and I had an instantaneous urge to just start running full strength xD scared the hell outta me
Aubrey todd!! You aint telln me nuhtn! I know datz right! LOL!! :D Thanks so much for watching man and I hope to hear from you again here sometime next month!
That's so awesome Roo Brown! Me 3!! LOL!! Although we do not have that hour or two for you yet, we will shine a little bit more on Miner's Mountain next month! I hope that'll suffice for now! Thanks so much watching and can't wait for your eyes to lock; fixated more on this story!
Very well made, the ending I sort of saw coming that the wife would be killed. But I like that even in this very short film you added lore on who the wendigo is. And made it clear there is more than one. The miners trapped turned to cannibalism, and the surviving ones became monsters. I feel if you ever got enough money for a feature length film, you could do wonders.
I also love the look in their eyes, it may be only because of the limited budget, but them having human eyes really makes it seem like they're actually smart, and possibly actually creating a scapegoat (emphased by the fact there's a police car at the door), changes from many wendigo depiction I've seen.
I honestly thought they were gonna be his version of a vampire also seemed like vampires because it was a mine shaft accident that let everything out so I'm guessing it's some sort of feral vampire and they take the heads so that it doesn't make a new vampire, wendigos are usually feral but the girl vampire seems to hold back in a way like she's probably the one who ate a deer instead of a human and the guy eats people not sure just a thought sorry for the rambling just finished the short
NOOOOOOOOOOO….!!!!!! This can’t be left like this!! What a brilliant, high and mighty quality piece from location to cast to filming to finish every second of this film was incredibly impressive. I eagerly await your release of the second half! Perfectionism at its finest. Bravo to all individuals involved in the making of this imaginative and compelling Masterpiece! BRAVO!!!
And this isn't a full movie....because why?this short film has more then most full movies out there. This was awesome!!!!! He is a good actor. I want to see more of this and him.....
Thanks so much Nathan! You're very kind! I'm sure Ben, the creator and writer is tickled pink because of you as I know all us actors who worked on this are humbled by your kind adulation. Thanks so much for watching!
The film is even better than an actual horror film. The acting were beyond good. I wished this was a lengthy movie where it should be in theater. I loved how everything portraited at night and the sound effects of the monsters were phenomenal scary. You are a GENIUS Bennet Pellington. I hope the ending is better than most horror movies. You got my sub!
I know Ben so appreciates your compliment and comment and so do "we"! Thank you oh so very much for that and who knows, maybe it will be in a theater or a subscription as a series to viewing platform near you one day! Thanks for the love!
@@henrybazemore you’re a legend for taking the time to reply to all these comments as well. You deserve recognition for your work, your craft is excellent. Don’t stop what you’re doing
I’ve watched this several times. Fantastic. Just brilliant. The FBI and Sheriff bantering... the agent hitting below the belt believing the Sheriff is rogue serial killer. The acting, cinematography, the small town mystery.... god I loved this. This could be a series.
The ending was better than most things I have seen. It's so true to reality, like the sheriff's last attempt to save what means anything to him and running straight towards the things he feared for so long is just fantastic.
I just had to come back and say... out of all these watered down, women exposing themselves with lil to no clothes, jump scares and random screams films on youtube..... this one has art, character, talent and it didn't forget the true elements of a horror films. NEW COMERS!! This film alone is... so beautiful it needs to be 2 hours long.

“Wendigos” are people that have committed cannibalism and morphed into a monster, so I think the miners he was talking about must’ve ate each other and the monsters are them years later after turning into Wendigos. AGREE!. I want to know what happened to his wife. I want to know what they wanted. To many questions. It's a great movie to expand on. It's best we don't know but I would like to know more work from this director.
To all wondering about the music. I have done hours of research and I found the following:
Revenge by Kerry Muzzey - 15:14 - 16:25
Something can grow by Tony Anderson - This is the violin song that appears at 0:05 - 0:52, 12:19 - 14:00, and 14:50-15:14
Evaporate by Luke Atencio - 4:35 - 5:45
The Summoning by Kyle Preston - 5:58 - 6:50
Because Finally It's Everything Alaskan Tapes - 10:25 - 10:38
I apologize but I couldn't find anything on that one atmospheric song between 3:27 and 4:04 or the song after the summoning between 6:50 and 7:04. My theory is that the song after the summoning is just a rendition of Revenge by Kerry Muzzey. Most disapointingly I couldn't get anything on the music between 10:43 and 14:10. Can't wait for the next movie. Great work Ben.

INDIE FILMS NEED MORE FUNDING. they're literally better than blockbusters
tom h - We thank you for this positive remark. We hope to get to that blockbuster level with MINER’S MOUNTAIN!
Tom H!! Thank you very much for stepping out and taking a chance on this little short!! It means a great deal!! And thank you for dropping a line or two!! We appreciate your thoughts regarding Miner's Mountain!! Hopefully there will be more to come very soon!!
True indeed
if indie films had more funding then they would literally be blockbusters?
@Oves Du to yell out indie films need more funding sounds a lot like just not being an indie filmmaker
Usually in most movies/short films whenever I see a character scream NO at the top of their lungs it's cheesy as hell, but this was the first time the big no actually sounded believable and gut-wrenching. This is a masterpiece, and this is coming from someone who doesn't usually enjoy horror movies in general.
Wow! That means so a lot that you enjoyed it so much!! Thanks for the love and support! So appreciate you taking the time to check out this little labor of love!
The acting, the narrative, the design of the Wendigos, everything about this short film makes it a masterpiece
OUTSTANDING!!!! Hope you were blown away by our work as we put everything into this that it would hopefully see the light of day!! Ben's vision on this thing is nothing short of exhilarating!! And we hope we can convey that at every turn, especially on this next installment!! Oops!! Well, guess the cat is out of the bag!!
Right
Yeah, I thought they were two different characters for a few seconds

The office confrontation scene is truly outstanding, showcasing top-notch acting from all the cast members. Each actor genuinely deserves a shot at a major Hollywood film.
Yeah, this needs to be a full length film. Probably one of the best shorts I have ever seen.
You haven't seen a lot of shorts
Good job!
Thanks man!

I’m a year late and randomly discovered this masterpiece yesterday. This is insanely good, the atmosphere, the acting, the production… everything! The creatures reminds me of the ones in the movie, The Descent.
The Descent is my favorite horror movie. :)

I also love the look in their eyes, it may be only because of the limited budget, but them having human eyes really makes it seem like they're actually smart, and possibly actually creating a scapegoat (emphased by the fact there's a police car at the door), changes from many wendigo depiction I've seen.
i love that you spoiled the film before i started it lol
Also gotta love the fact that they went with an accurate wendigo instead of defaulting to the eldritch were-deer interpretation like most horror does.
