Look at the video more carefully. Mrwhose theboss wasn’t honest with that review. The Galaxy wasn’t playing videos in RUclips while all the iPhones were at 4:10 and 4:35. There’s other instances I’ve noticed too that the galaxy wasn’t performing the same tasks the iPhones were.
Well testing always varies especially when testing battery life Mrwhosetheboss was one of the first RUclipsrs to do a battery life test so maybe Apple has released some updates since then

You can keep your phone in that 20-80% charge window without having to worry about battery life. They both will easily carry you through the day and people who don't play games will get an easy 2-3 days out of one charge.

8:30 [Please ignore my English if there is a mistake] Those who are confused after watching Mrwhosetheboss and PhoneBuff's battery life test videos please take some moment to understand the apps optimization. They both tested the difference sets of apps on their battery test videos. Some apps are better optimized for Android and some are for iOS. Optimize apps always take less battery or more efficient. So, it's normal to see some battery life different with different sets of apps. Also, the OS optimization takes huge role in battery life. Mrwhosetheboss tested early version of iOS. Maybe after that apple optimize the software for iPhone 16 Pro Max. There are many things that can affect the battery life. Even, you will not get the same result for same phone in two tests. Whenever my Samsung phone starts to drain the battery faster than usual, it's usually because of a specific update that hasn't been done. There are 4 or 5 things that needs to be checked & you need to make sure its all updated. Follow the steps below and update whatever needs to be updated. Once you have gone through all the steps and if you've updated everything then your phones battery life should be fine afterwards. I still have a Samsung s22 ultra(exynos) and I get between 8-10 hours of screen on time when everything is updated on my phone. These steps will work on any Samsung phone even the latest s24 ultra so if your battery is draining fast then just follow these steps below and I'm sure it will solve the problem. Go to settings Scroll down and click on 'Software update' Click on 'Update & install' If there's an update available then do the update. Once it's completed, move on to the next step. Go to Settings In the search bar, search for 'Google play system update' Click on 'Google play system update' If there's an update available then do the update. Restart phone once update has completed. Go to Play Store Click on your profile in top right corner Click on 'Manage apps and device' Click on 'Updates available' Click on 'Update all' Click on 'Back' Make sure it says 'All apps are up to date' Go to Store or Galaxy Store Click on 'Menu' Click on 'Updates' Click on 'Update all' Once completed, make sure it says 'All apps are up to date' Go to Settings In the search bar, search for: 'Device care settings' Click on 'About device care' Click on 'Update security engine' Restart phone Wipe cache partition: Switch off phone Connect phone to pc or mac using Usb-C cable When it starts charging, hold down the power button and volume up button simultaneously When the Samsung logo appears, let go of buttons When the menu appears, press volume down button & scroll down to Wipe cache partition Press volume down button and Select 'yes' by pressing power button Once it's wiped the cache partition Press power button to restart phone That's it. Your battery life should be a lot better after following these steps!
I have found that lately it is draing fast from 15% and it seems Samsung hides battery degredation at the lower end where most people never reach, that is below 15% capacity. Seems like if Apple did this there would be hundreds of videos on it and Twitter would be alive.
Truth is, you'll get different results based on the apps you use and how long you use them. Plus some apps are more optimized on the various os so if you use a more optimized app longer, you might even see better battery life
Mrwhosetheboss is an apple fan boy 😂😂😂. I think when the galaxy S25 ultra arrive with its 3nm chip set, and it's upcoming chip, I hope it will beat apple. The 8GEN 3 is not even up to the A17 bionic. So it will be very difficult to catch up with the 18pro plus and whatever 😂😂
And the iphone now having a bigger screen and with around 350mA less than the S24U still manages to outperform it by a good amount. Both are impressive though for the achievments they made these few years especially qualcomm from the 8gen1 .Well done for test.
I’ve been a Samsung guy for a long time but I wanted something new this time. I got an IPhone 16 pro and the battery seems to last longer than the 5000ah battery in Samsung phones. Great little phone. I didn’t want the max. It reminds me of the early iPhones, in looks.
Was waiting for this ! As other people stated the iPhone screen is 6.9 this year, and ambient mode on RUclips is on for only one device, which can definitely make a difference. Also using iOS 18.0.1 could have been nicer if it’s not what you used (not sure it’s that better for battery life though, but could make a difference as overall performance improved). Next time iPhone 16 vs 16 Pro ? Or 15 Pro vs 16 Pro to see the real generational difference ? Keep up the good work 👍🏻
You’ve outdone yourself PhoneBuff! (and it makes up for the long wait we’ve had to finally see your results on this video 😂) As a tech lover and enthusiast I’ve always loved and appreciated the lengths you go too, to make it as fair of a comparison test as possible.. but with the few new unexpected additions to the way this test is done, it’s just made it even better and more accurate when comparing it to a persons real world usage! Really hope this continues on with your other comparison tests.. and hopefully the wait won’t be as long as this one was in the future 😂 There’s been so many mixed results from RUclipsrs, it’s great to finally know the iPhone 16 remains the battery life champion!!
It depends on how you use it, which app you’re in and stuff. I think iPhone struggles with video content, but is a bit better in any other app. And most of Mrwhosetheboss's apps were on mostly video content, so yeah. Not really a fluke.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max battery is amazing, and I love it! I use the battery charge limit set to 90%, and by the end of the day, before I go to sleep, it’s still around 25%. So basically, I have 35% left, which is crazy!
@@TomTomdog Nope, it’s definitely different. My parents have the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I recently got the 16 Pro Max. I can confirm there’s a noticeable difference in the bezel, and it’s even more obvious compared to my experience as an iPhone 14 Pro Max owner.
I knew there was something wrong with the test MrWhoseThatBoss made, my comment got a lot of hate over there. But clearly this test clarifies absolutly everything. Also find it incredibe that the iPhone wins despite its battery capacity being smaller than the samsung. Just goes to show that the operating system on the phones probably has a lot to say in terms of battery drainage. Apple has really focused on optimizing the operating system making it use less power for each operation. Samsung is still in the lead in features do and Apple slowly falling behind. But in terms of optimizing and user experience I believe Apple really wins this one. Also night pics on the Samsung are really noisy and the color looks way off in my opinion. Thanks for the test PhoneBuff! :D
Battery is the key thing I look for in smartphones and although the S24U and the 16PM in the previous vid where very close the battery improvements will be what makes it a 'better' device imo. Specs will only do so machine terms of performance, yet we still have some apps to further optimise and iOS 18 hasn't been that strong thus far so I can imagine the 16PM getting stronger once the S25U comes out..,
Forget Mrwhostheboss' battery test, at least PhoneBuff's tests are always far more concise, scientific and most important of all, not biased. Edit: I'm not a fanboy. I've used Samsung phones for 12+ years and loved it, only recently did I move to Apple. There are features here that I miss
I actually love both of them. You can’t just rely on one person to determine lately phones haven’t been showing different results so you can’t really rely on one person telling you otherwise.
I do believe that phone buff tests are more accurate and the phones are tested in higher form of fairness too but efforts of Mrwhosetheboss are also praise worthy.
this test is absurd. it predicts 28 hours of screen on time for both those phones, which is about 20 hours more than i get. yes, i own the iphone 16 pro max and i get about 8.5 to 10 hours screen on time out of it. explain this to me please? my findings are obviously corroborrated by ALL OTHER battery tests. iphone, samsung, xiaomi, it does not matter. you won't get more than 12 hours in real life. NEVER. 28 are completely made up.
Is there a way to install the original animated wallpapers from the iPhone 16 Pro on other iPhone models, like the iPhone 15 Pro, and where can I download them so that they remain just as animated as on the original device?
It would be interesting to see how the Samsung and the iPhone were configured before the test. At the moment I don't know the possible settings of the iPhone system, but being the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, I know for sure that there are 3-4 settings that, depending on how they are set, can increase performance at the expense of battery consumption. For example, the resolution of the screen, the performance profile, etc. Finally, you have to consider recharging the pen that incorporates the Samsung (during the test the S Pen was inserted into the Samsung and therefore was constantly charging?) Without the knowledge of this detail, this kind of video is not credible.

I think this battery test and the speed test should be redone with iOS 18.0.1. The software update is much better for performance and battery health. iOS 18 was way to buggy
I've never ever ever gotten anything close to these numbers. 5 hours SOT is the best I've ever seen.
You forgot turning off Ambient Mode in RUclips on the iPhone. Maybe thats why the iPhone lost 1 Percent more on YT.
Nevertheless really great Video as always 👍.
This is the Most scientific Battery Test on RUclips and in 9/10 battery Tests i watched the iPhone won by a a good bit.
(Just in MrWhoseTheBoss Test the S24 U won by a huge lead ??, thats just scuffed)
@@gengstar09look at one test out of 20 that won
@gengstar09 damn the apple d riding is crazy. They pay u for this shi or are u doing it for free?

The iPhone literally cleared the Samsung in his camera comparison video and he said he was switching to the iPhone
So I don't really get why he would be biased towards the Samsung 🤷🏾♂️
I think, despite the RUclips test running in ambient mode on the iPhone, having 50% charge left after 24 hours is amazing. You can keep your phone in that 20-80% charge window without having to worry about battery life. They both will easily carry you through the day and people who don't play games will get an easy 2-3 days out of one charge.
Video starts at 2:03 your welcome.
The ambient mode was on during the test on the iphone which should have been turned off to match that up with the Galaxy. That gave it an edge during RUclips
if anything ambient mode would drain the battery on iphone, if it was turned off then the 16 would last even longer lol
Anything can happen…
There's what they call margin of error bro and besides the mrwhosetheboss test was a win with an even wider range than the iPhone beats the s24ultra in most tests

exactly, lol was about to comment that
Iphone has rounded corners and the s24 ultra has rectangular display so its equal though iphone is just littile bit taller
@@cricketlover1010 that doesn't change the fact its 6.9 inches not 6.8, doesn't matter if its rectangular or not its measured it account for that
@@antiplayer7759 bro are you serious do you even know how display size is measured
the display size is measured diagonally so if you measure s24u it is 6.8 inch but the iphone's corners are rounded so if you measure it it will be equal to s24u
and secondly you will not going to face that much difference for only 0.2 inch
and admit it iphone 16pm is better than s24u in terms of hardware
@@cricketlover1010 but that still doesn't make it that size, search up 16 PM screen area and its quite a bit more than S24 U so it is indeed 6.9 for the iPhone

Was waiting for this! Once again it just proves both phones have stellar battery life.
I immediately checked the previous video of the iPhone 15 Pro Max vs the S24 Ultra and the Samsung's battery duration in this video is 30 minutes shorter than the exact same Samsung of the previous video. That's a pretty substantial difference. What happened there?

What is crazy here? It's only 7% diff and the Galaxy is almost an year old now. I expected 16 pro max wins atleast 20-25% margin. And who told apple to keep less capacity battery? They can't increase because that's how it's internals are designed they can't fit a bigger battery due to other internals.
Go to settings
Scroll down and click on 'Software update'
Click on 'Update & install'
If there's an update available then do the update. Once it's completed, move on to the next step.
Go to Settings
In the search bar, search for 'Google play system update'
Click on 'Google play system update'
If there's an update available then do the update. Restart phone once update has completed.
Go to Play Store
Click on your profile in top right corner
Click on 'Manage apps and device'
Click on 'Updates available'
Click on 'Update all'
Click on 'Back'
Make sure it says 'All apps are up to date'
Go to Store or Galaxy Store
Click on 'Menu'
Click on 'Updates'
Click on 'Update all'
Once completed, make sure it says 'All apps are up to date'
Go to Settings
In the search bar, search for:
'Device care settings'
Click on 'About device care'
Click on 'Update security engine'
Restart phone
Wipe cache partition:
Switch off phone
Connect phone to pc or mac using Usb-C cable
When it starts charging, hold down the power button and volume up button simultaneously
When the Samsung logo appears, let go of buttons
When the menu appears, press volume down button & scroll down to Wipe cache partition
Press volume down button and Select 'yes' by pressing power button
Once it's wiped the cache partition
Press power button to restart phone
That's it. Your battery life should be a lot better after following these steps!
When Samsung is on 10%, consider its dead because it becomes unusable. It drains to 0 in a minute. The iPhone still works well on 2%
I have found that lately it is draing fast from 15% and it seems Samsung hides battery degredation at the lower end where most people never reach, that is below 15% capacity. Seems like if Apple did this there would be hundreds of videos on it and Twitter would be alive.
I've been waiting for this for literally 1 year.

battery tests are somehow ALWAYS super interesting. even between older and newer models. if iphone had fast charging like 90w it would be so good.
And the iphone now having a bigger screen and with around 350mA less than the S24U still manages to outperform it by a good amount. Both are impressive though for the achievments they made these few years especially qualcomm from the 8gen1 .Well done for test.

And apple has a smaller battery inside too which says it all about their software it's lightyears ahead of android and always will be
16 pro max has a 6.9 in display not 6.8 btw
Battery is the key thing I look for in smartphones and although the S24U and the 16PM in the previous vid where very close the battery improvements will be what makes it a 'better' device imo. Specs will only do so machine terms of performance, yet we still have some apps to further optimise and iOS 18 hasn't been that strong thus far so I can imagine the 16PM getting stronger once the S25U comes out..,
ROG 7 ultimate for some reason is still the king of batteries.

Mrwhostheboss isn't biased either and also accurate
Mrwhosetheboss wasn't biased it was just a test and all the phones were brand new.
My favorite thing about these videos is that tech specs matters about 1% and developers skill at system optimization matters 99%.
Finally, you have to consider recharging the pen that incorporates the Samsung (during the test the S Pen was inserted into the Samsung and therefore was constantly charging?)
Without the knowledge of this detail, this kind of video is not credible.
