Big thanks to TORRAS for sponsoring this video.
Drop test between the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to see which phone is more durable. We also see if Apple's claims of the 2nd gen of Ceramic Shield being stronger yield a noticeable difference.

Are you going to be doing the battery test for the iPhone 16 with the s24,s25 or both?
Slide me the galaxy phone
@PhoneBuff ill take the iPhone haha
4:33 I like how Apple claims its 50% tougher on the new Ceramic Glass and it still breaks at one drop. So does the S24 Ultra with Gorilla Glass
We don’t know how they managed to claim that.but they must’ve tested it under specific conditions/portions that are not fairly represented by this video cause it would pretty much be illegal for them to mislead consumer
@@sensemedia1i’m pretty sure it would be how the cracks spread of smth
they're most likely playing with words, because tougher glass could mean a lot of things. it could mean the cracks spread less, it could mean it's less shatterproof,
They claim the glass is strong not on the basis that it won’t break but on the point that how much can it resist the actual display from damage
They need blue sapphire glass to get their money worth 😂
After watching this video. I’m going to put my case back on my phone😂
“2× tougher glass than any other smartphone” - should drop it from 2× higher to test that marketing pitch
Can’t wait for the speed and battery tests 😮💨
MrWhoseTheBoss has a battery test. S24U won, not by much, but it won
@ThatIceChampion rigged batter test ... there are 7 more battery test with brand new s24ultra .. 16 pm wins
@@TheDeV-e5o oh oke then, I'm on team iOS anyways lol
ew buncha sheeps.
@@TheDeV-e5o His all phone was new that's why Samsung won. Other RUclipsrs compared with old one. I think Mrwhosetheboss did the fairest comparison.
Now on the battery test.
He won’t do it until half a year from now 😭
That also happened on the droptest of Everything apple pro vlog and with another RUclipsr droptest, i guess it’s a problem.
IT’S TI-
wait this just the drop test
Yep. Boring.
Most people are waiting for the battery drain tests.
How’s turning off momentarily worse than the huge white and yellow stripes on the display? Lol
Motherboard is deep outside the phone while the screen is closer to the outer walls
Glass is glass and glass breaks
I love how Apple wins only because the fingerprint reader stops working on the Samsung. A feature the iPhone doesnt have to begin with. Both phones are still able to unlock with your face.
And Samsung still has face ID as a backup.
Samsung does NOT have Face ID. Face ID has proper depth sensors so that it can’t be fooled by a picture. There’s a reason Samsung literally says not to use their face unlock for anything that you actually wanted secured.
You could say the same thing about Samsung, doesn't have Face ID (and camera authentication isn't the same thing).
still its a glass
Comparing with s24 ultra old samsung
😊
6:00 The iPhone turning off isn't weird. Tim Cook wants us to take it to them, along with 500 bucks😑
S24 Ultra❤
Waiting for battery battle
Thx PhoneBuff
Glass is glass and glass always break, No matter how strong the company claim.
dragontail glass its too
Bro check the huawei mate 60 pro plus
But compared to iPhone 12 Pro, the Ceramic Shield glass on iPhone 16 Pro (for now) is a complete bull5h1t
@@intelligencetechnical1142 huawei like shit 😅 don't compare huawei to apple and samsung
Nooooo wayyy
Glass is glass and glass break. These sort of video is pretty much saying what we already know. It’s not 2015 anymore. Majority uses cases.
You just can’t dox a whole three points of the iPhone and give the Samsung full score in the bonus round. Despite the random shutdowns, the iPhone display held up way better, meaning the phone was more durable in that category regardless of your combination to wake it again. A charger would probably also do the trick in that situation
Nice seeing the big versions compete, but what about the smaller versions? 16 Pro vs S24
Would really like to see the drop, battery, and speed tests of those two as those are the 2 I’m actually interested in buying
(I don’t like giant phones personally, I need one that fits better in pockets than the big boys lol)
2x tougher glass
*just don’t drop it on concrete 😂
Don't forget though, this is a VERY controlled drop test and almost never actually represents a real world incident, a phone will almost never just magically fall flush on its front or its back, it will be angled somehow and it will certainly not sustain anywhere near the amount of damage these phones copped (at least at the same height)
Naa how tf does round 4 go to samsung 😂
It was completely f ed up
Techrax did a drop test yesterday, he compared the 16 Pro Max with the 15 Pro Max, the 16 Pro Max had a few dents, but literally survived like a Nokia, the 15 Pro Max in the other hand, cracked and the whole display was blacked out.

Best drop test videos on RUclips
When's the speed test coming?
Who else is waiting for the ultimate speed test?
I love your tests and they are expensive. This hurts to see. ^^
But mosts drops are not in these angles. I think your corner drops are more representative to how phones are falling down in real life. Maybe you can add more corner drops instead of face drops?
And tests of your sponsored case would also be nice, as they would prove the claims of being good.
Hoping you can also do one for the Pixel 9 Pro XL
S24 ultra FTW 💪💪💪
@@buenaWarlock still lags 😜😜😜
No 60FPS? Aw.
oo
I am so glad my s24 ultra can beat the last year iphone 15 pro max and now 16 pro max when it comes to drop test love that phone😍😍😍🥰
Real
Your phone sucks
@@Ben-hz5jt we both just said we have the s24 ultra what are u saying?
We all put cases on our phones so this doesn’t matter that much it just makes a entertaining video. Also, both phones at the end look bad as heck, if the Samsung had actually been able to come out mostly unscathed and still useable then it would be a win but imo both phones lost.
@@JDA2790 its about the display, if it still is functional or not
Finally!!!
Just put a damn phone case that’s really durable on your phone. Problem. Solved. 🙄
That's not the point bruhh
Been waiting for ur videos for days, much love from Nigeria
im early lets goooooo
Same here bruh
People defending either phone is crazy!!!
Phonebuff dropped this video to impress! *Smashes Play Button*.
3:19 That will definitely affect the image in most bright lighting
Regular s24 Exynos vs Snapdragon and s24 Exynos vs iphone 16
After seeing this test.... wow. Phones have become so much more durable and capable of staying alive even after exxtensive damage. You can't go wrong with either of them
So just to clarify....both phones are completely phucked, but the Galaxy gets the "clear" win. Got it.
Is the iphone worse than last year? Because that phone, the 15 was worse than the 14
I don't know if anyone ever asked this, but what do these guys do with these phones afterwards? Recycle them or send them out to be repaired?
Been watching bro since the s7 vs iphone 6s drop test definitely came a long way
Once they start making displays out of straight titanium and no glass then maybe it won’t break
The iPhone 16's ceramic shield still nowhere as strong as the iPhone 12's, it seems then
Only the iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max that keeps Ceramic Shield Glass relevant after that, the 13 Pro through 16 Pro as always ended up crap.
This is the only guy I trust when it comes to these tests
Let's see if Samsung will use transparent aluminium or iPhone transparent aluminium with ceramic shield?
I have the iPhone 16 Pro in Natural Titanium, 1TB and filmed my unboxing on my channel! I'm in love with it. Coming from the 13 pro max, this was a nice upgrade, I love it.
please do a battery comparision test with both brand new s24u and 16pm
Finally, been waiting for the drop test ever since the 16 pro max survived the jerrryrig test
Samsung s24 be like: why its always me?
Both phones preformed well.
Doesn't the ultra have face unlock? If so, was that tested when the fingerprint scanner failed?
Great stuff! Can you re-do the drop test on iPhone 12 Pro Max, please?
Did they become more fragile? If i remember correctly the older phone doesn't crack at 1st drop. What's happening with these companies.
Iphone went directly into the comma 🤣🤣
what a teaser, knowing everybody is waiting for the battery test result
need battery test
Torras cases dont have the same heat dissipation as the Spigen/Caseology cases. My S24U heats a lot whenever its in the Torras case
So how high were the first 3 drops? 1M or 1.5M? Also, could you drop at least one of the other iPhone 16 models? I’m curious how the more thick bezels and/or lighter weight would make a difference.
Didn't expect that result from latest iphone.
Both of them using screen panel from samsung
Dirt rock and perfect flat drop off course they would brake completely
Loved this now waiting for batery and speed test
2 times tougher than any smartphones hmmmm
why tf are both phones doing worse than last year ☠☠
Shouldn’t you guys start with dropping at a lower height first? Both phones cracked on the front and back drops, now we don’t really know which is better and we don’t know if the corner drop would have cracked the screen
Biased galaxy looks worse off
Face ID working compared to a fingerprint scanner not working is a ridiculous reason to give the edge to the the other device. Should have compared samsungs camera face ID too. Iphone only does face ID or passcode, while samsung offers those options and more. Definitely wasn't a fare comparison, in my opinion.
bruh EU wanted iPhone more repairable, this is what we now get, back glass no where near as tough as it could be cause EU decided iPhones aren't repairable enough, nonsense
He looks like Myron Gaines of Fresh and Fit
Hi,
Have you done s drop test on Honor Magic 6?
For same reason they gnna flame u for this😬
Been waiting for this🔥🔥
It's funny how both the Note 20 Ultra and iPhone 12 Pro survived without even cracking their screens. They reached peak durability and realized they had gone too far.
Instead of one large drop after another, I'd like to see more "every day drops" from the waist being repeated to simulate real world situations
I think it could’ve been 35-36, since in the bonus round Galaxy did have more lines, but otherwise, yeah the strange turning off gives iPhone the loss.
this competition to be fair you need to use new phone for each drop test because using the same phone will affect the competition and sure
the phones will not get damaged in the same way you just show
so the finger print scanner does not work on the samsung but the samsung also has face id....
THE SAMSUNG DOES NOT HAVE “FACE ID”!!!
Need saphhire phone
Are you not doing the Pixel 9 Pro XL for a reason? 😢
Tldr: s24u 37 vs 16pm 35
Yey smart phone drop test
@8:08
No one knows about that combo, smh. I bet those folks at the Apple store where I bought two iPhone 14s for my daughters know about it but they will never tell so that they will force me to avail their expensive repair service.
Awesome test
You know I seen a lot of testing of the iPhone 16 Pro I feel like this has to be redone tbh in a way, unlike other past tests from phone buff this felt more picky. I could tell because I never seen that happen on previous test, but also pretty interesting too.
Please don't😢
Teasing the 911 there 😂
Now, it's official!
Waiting for this...❤
Fanbois😂
Speed test please
when’s the 16 pro max vs s24 ultra speed test coming out?
16 wins
@@JustSenix Bro chill, we don't know that yet.
@@ToPa-MWTPUit does in single and multi core and we do lol
@@JustSenix Ima wait till Phonebuff makes the video. iPhone will probably win, but its not out yet so, we don't know.
@@ToPa-MWTPUthere's a 120% chance 16 pm will beat tf out of even the S25 Ultra Max chang chun chin etc. but yeah it's not official until it's done by Phonebuff 😅
Common Galaxy W !
love your videos!
Why they portrude the camera lense? They must raise the camera rings more ghan lense to peotect it
Larger sensors or they needed more space in the phone for new hardware
