    I have to say this is one of the better videos on how to take this model apart, it also works on the model I have, 14-fq1025nr! Thanks for the video you gave me the confidence I needed to do this myself. I am about to turn 70!!! I am quite young. My first computer was a radio shack in 1992, one of the first home computers ever sold, no hard drive just a 5 1/2-inch floppy disk. Sorry I digress... LOL. At any rate thanks again, you are GREAT!

    Yes, thank you for the walkthrough. I opened up the case without damaging anything. I replaced the battery and installed a 2nd 4gb ram on the other holder. The only other thing I did was I cleaned the fins on the fan with a Q-tip. The new battery charges and the system shows that I now have 8gb of ram. Very satisfying to do it yourself.

    I'm back! So finally worked up the nerve to open the care and add another 8 mega of RAM. It worked. Mixed up the screws, that was actually not fun. Finally got them all back. Everything worked and I really don't want to do that again. However thanks again for the video, ready to follow and I am now a happy camper!!! Later Gator!

    The best trick that I ever found to keep from losing the screws was to buy a plastic Plano fishing tackle tray. The tray makes the job much faster and you can lay the screws in the tray in the exact order and layout of the way that it looks on the laptop frame. Get a second box for the motherboard screws and you even have a lid that you can close to Secure the screws.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  2 года назад

      I actually have a special thing that I designed for keeping the screws in order. I don't really ever show it on camera. Lol Maybe I should one day.

    Thanks so much for posting this… I have this laptop and recently cracked the screen and it won’t power on… not practical to repair it so ordered the same one and now need to retrieve the data … I guess I would need to remove the hard drive and connect it to the new laptop…would any SSD to USB cable work or should I buy a special cable? @@ItsBinhRepaired Upon investigation I confirmed that it is not built into a palm rest, because on eBay they are selling the palm rest without the touchpad for that specific model. However, the touchpad for HP 14-dq1043cl does not appear, so I wanted to know the part number to see if I can find it like that, I just don't have the laptop on hand, it belongs to a friend that I'm going to visit but he doesn't know how to disassemble the laptop.
