Ellen G., White helped bring me into the SDA church. Her story is an amazing miracle of God. I listened to her book The Great Controversy and learned things I didn't know about the Bible, prophets, prophecy, and the protestant reformation and martyrs for Jesus Christ. The Great Controversy was so interesting that I fell asleep listening to it every night! I'm proud of her because she is a woman, like me, and God the Father, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit lifted her up and used her in a MIGHTY way; Way Back Then! Amen. She has led many, including me, to Christ!! I'm not ashamed of EGW spreading the Gospel even now.

@@danieloostendorp9286 why compare the Bible to EGW writings? This would mean that we should not read ANYTHING outside of the Bible. This is the same argument that the Scribes and Pharisees brought against Jesus---they said that they had Moses and the prophets and did not need Jesus. Jesus had to tell them that if they believed Moses they would also believe Him! If anyone believes the Bible they would also believe Ellen White because she agrees with the Bible. You can hardly read one page of her writings without coming across a scriptural quote or reference.

The ignorant will believe you. The truth is that she contradicts the Bible over 50 times. Assemble all her books and read them side by side with the Bible and you will be shocked. Sometimes she contradicts herself!!
Thank you for your video ! This sabbath I was seated next to very rude people who were constantly mumbled and protest loudly when somebody quoted Ellen White. As a new baptised (3 weeks), who (re)discovered with joy the Bible through the testimony of Ellen White, I felt really sad and was planning to leave the church. I was not aware that it’s was a common problem on SDA church. I’m French living in France, Paris. I’m also concerned about female pastors. So many… and so sad to see the world leading the church. I was convinced by God to leave my feminist spirit through Doug Bachelor’s sermon and just read the Bible and stop fighting against God.

I believe that Ellen G. White is an equal prophet like any prophets from the Bible. She has more inspired writings than most prophets in the Bible, she is for the modern and to the ending times prophecy for the church. It is clear to me that the pressure is coming from Babylon, because those are the ones that attacked her the most on the Internet with malicious and remarkable obsession. They understand that it is easier for them to manipulate and put the Bible out of context than her writings. I agreed with the Pastor, when he said that those who signed the agreement are going to deny the Bible as well, because they are already compromised. Absolute HERESY. The writings of Ellen White have many errors. As long as there are consequences in a church for disagreeing with a non-canonized author, that in itself is a HUGE red flag. Y'all talk about Catholics, Mormons, JWs, but y'all have exalted a fallen human, who made many errors, to a godlike status in the church. The problem in the SDA church now, is the fact that we are following other churches protocol. You get told what to preach, which verses to use, how to say the script given. Preachers are no longer led by the Holy Spirit.
The wheat and tares grow together till the harvest...there are still some God fearing ministers who speak the truth. Ellen said, men of position and institutional training will not be used in the last day, God will raise up humble men who have not sought positions and institutional learning. God will have His faithful right to the end, pray we are among them.

I have not listened to the above post yet but I can tell you why I do not give book, chapter and page when I quote Mrs. White. I believe that our worship service should be for "them" meaning that when a non SDA visits our service I want them to go home and say "I heard a Bible sermon". I believe that even one quote attributed to Mrs White can often turn a person away from truth when that person has not had the background to know we do not worship her nor hold her writings as equal to the Bible. (As the internet will tell them) I do often quote and use the writings of Mrs. White but with out the above mentioned book and page. Thus God has brought to our services over the years several that have joined the SDA movement and LOVE the writings of Mrs. White. Preach the BIBLE. STUDY the Bible AND her writings.
I asked a leader at an institutional lead SDA church what would change if we "Had church for them (non SDA's)". His answer was "We would quote Ellen White less" This after his sermon that day that was about 40 - 50 % quotes.
The conference church has deleted paragraphs from Ellen's work that points to the conference church being the Laodecean church at this time and that the remnant shall come out of it.

Ask SDAs about the 1919 bible conference. What was widely known about Ellen White, that was suppressed? Have the hierarchy of the SDA church and the White Estate, past and present been honest? Are there things about Ellen White's writings that they've buried? Hoping that those things will never surface? SDAs are under a state of deception by thinking that the church needs the writings of Ellen White, when they have their bibles. Some are saying that her writings are equal to scripture and some even dare to say that they are superior to scripture. And then they disingenuously chant " SOLA SCRIPTURA," THE BIBLE AND THE BIBLE ALONE. I'm not suggesting that people shouldn't read Ellen White's writings, but to even think to suggest that her writings are on the same level of scripture is dangerously heretical. I shake my head.
Alot of non sda and sda pastors quote other bible expert writers, so why not use ellen white writings to non sda's events?!!! You are giving out her books in every households, neighbors, strangers????! So why not give a quote from her in the pulpit with non sda's??!!! The church does not need Ellen G White, scripture alone is sufficient, inerrant and infallible. She is not on par with Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel or any other of the biblical prophets - their writings are infallible...her's are fallible.
I see that the real critics of Ellen White drag her through the mud about so many things. But they don’t research her writings. They take things out of context. They believe their interpretation of scriptures are correct and hers are not. There are reasons she said the things she said about certain subjects. The full picture of why she said these things is not looked into. She certainly teaches a Godly and healthy life and uplifts His Commandments. Read everything she wrote and compare it with the Bible to get the full picture. Don’t take one small thing she wrote and condemn it. Research it!
It is clear you yourself have not dug deep enough, else you would never be saying what you're saying, SDAs needs to be HONEST. We have no problem in exposing all that is wrong about Catholicism, Joseph Smith, Charle Taze Russell and Mary Baker Eddie, but when it comes to Ellen White, we refuse to be critical thinkers and call a spade a spade. We become very defensive and ignore facts that have been proven to be true about things that were written by her that contradicts the thus saith the Lord. There's a greater disappointment coming for Adventism. We are very DISHONEST AND DISIGENUOUS. We must speak the truth. Ellen White's writings are not without error, and they are not necessary for salvation. Ignoring the facts don't ever change the truth about those facts; no matter how much we choose to deny them.
Many of us who studied theology were told not to quote Ellen White from the pulpit. This opens the door for anyone to quote anyone they choose. He leaves the door open for anything other than the Bible. Which should be the only thing preached and taught from the pulpit.
Whenever God's People HONOR GOD'S ONE LAW CONTAINING 10 COMMANDMENTS, God Honors His ONE CHURCH with the Blessed Guidance of a True Prophet(ess). Period.
I make no apologies for quoting from Ellen White's writings in my sermons and l never will. The statement about her writings being the "lesser light" has been misused and perverted by people who are too easily influenced by tradition and who inwardly desire an excuse to not obey the word of the Lord through her writings. Look up what Sister White says in "The Desire of Ages" about John the Baptist. She calls him the "lesser light." Now, John the Baptist was a PROPHET whose sermons are recorded in the BIBLE. So, is Ellen White the ONLY "lesser light?" No. Ellen White goes on to say that "no other light has shown brighter than Jesus Christ." So, that means thay ALL the prophets are "lesser lights" compared to Jesus Christ. So, all this teaching about Ellen White being the "lesser light" without considering the statement from the "Desire of Ages" is pure nonsense.

No one killed EGW but it is the choice of any individual include Pastors who dont accept her as she has many errors and copied most of her writers from inspirational and non inspirational writers. She dont pass the biblical test of a prophet.
You are 100% right. Let me remind SDAs that there was a time that the majority of people believed that the earth was flat. People were burnt at the stake for voicing otherwise. Eventually more searching and studying was done, and it was proven that the earth was not flat, but round. To this day, some still believe that the earth is flat, despite the strong evidence that peeves otherwise. I said that to say, that many SDAs are ignoring proven facts about the Ellen White factor and are holding on to this false belief that she was a prophet, although it has been proven time and time again that there are serious errors in her writings and that she copied the greater majority of her writings from other authors; even some of the claimed visions were found to be the sayings of other authors. As SDAs, there must be complete HONESTY and TRUTHFULNESS.
One caution I would make here is that you always have to take what a prophet says about himself with a pinch of salt. A true prophet NEVER boasts about his calling. When John the Baptist was asked if he was Elijah he said, "No"(John 1:21). Yet Jesus said that in fact John was Elijah. (Matt 11:14). Who was right? John or Jesus?
You need to think this through a bit more. Kindly provide just one example of what any true prophet said about himself that should be taken "with a pinch of salt." Since this video is about Sister White, it's implied that she boasts about her calling. Please provide just one clear example of her boasting about her calling. Before you do this, you might do well to read the definition of "boast" in an English dictionary and carefully consider what those accepted as true prophets said about themselves. If you think that either John or Jesus was mistaken was mistaken about being or not being Elijah, you should carefully read the four gospels again and The Desire of Ages. There is absolutely NO contradiction between what John said and what Jesus said. Lastly, Elijah was also prophesied to come before the second coming of Christ. Let that sink in.
@@martinlohne5128 I think you need to read my comment again because you are saying the very opposite of what I said, My point is that EGW never boasted about her calling even though she was called to be a prophetess, the same way in which John the Baptist did not even know he was fulfilling the Elijah prophecy. Prophets are always MORE than they would claim themselves to be. John said that he was just a voice crying in the wilderness whereas Jesus said that John was the greatest prophet this world has ever seen, (Matthew 11:11).

Please show me one statement where Sister White called the Bible the greater light. The quote from 3SM at 5:36 doesn't have the word Bible after "greater light." But there are several quotes (I can get them, if you like) where she calls Christ the greater light. So, this statement has greater meaning when you take her other statements about greater/lesser light, Christ is the greater light, the Bible and the spirit of prophecy are the lesser lights. This makes more sense when compared to your statement about the same spirit guiding Isaiah and Jeremiah that guided Sister White. This understanding you have taken of this passage (and it's been around for decades) is one step toward down grading the spirit of prophecy.
Ellen White's writings are not scripture. They are also not without error. SDAs need to get back to the bible. That was the plea she made in her last public appearance, when she held up a bible before a sitting of leaders and lay personnel and admonished them to get back to the BIBLE. This lesser light and greater light foolishness are just cheeky ways of trying to apply a level of reverence where it doesn't belong. It's mind boggling to hear SDAs call out Mormons, JWs and Catholics for the very same thing they're doing with the writings of Ellen White. I shake my head. God help us yes.🙏
God bless you, Brother. The other day I refused to say the Lord's name to a lady who needed help and I felt as if she was going to reject Him, I never want to miss an opportunity ever again. People who don't share the words of the bible or of the known Prophets including Sister White, are going to regret it one day when the Fire and brimstone comes down.

Ellen white said she is the lesser light and the Bible is the greatest light we need. If we quote Ellen White more than we quote the Bible then am afraid we might be worshipping a prophetes that is Dead. (I thought we know much on the state of the dead)
There is a “professor” on utube who’s life mission is to make X-SDAs like himself targeting EGW. One mistake I think SDAs make is to refer to EGW as “THE spirit of prophecy”. I believe she HAD the spirit of prophecy. She was a prophet for the church and people have been converted to Christ by reading her. The SDA denomination has the most Biblically accurate interpretation of doctrine and prophecy thanks to EGWs visions that helped the early pioneers of the faith to make correct interpretations of Prophecy.

So like the bible that was inspired by the Holy Spirit the writing of EG White which is also inspired will we valid after the death of the author.
I've NEVER really understood why God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are/is just not enough for the Christian....I just never understand that part. If you can revisit 1 Cor 2:11, then you will understand that NO ONE can make you understand the Lord or His Word, more than Himself. There is no human being that will explain to you God and His word more than He, Himself. The Holy Spirit in you will lead you into ALL truth. John 16:13. Your best bet is to go to God, the source of your salvation and the author and finisher of your faith, Hebrews 12:2. Christians, why can't God be ENOUGH for you and me?
God sees it fit to raise up a prophet during the judgement of His people, to open their eyes to spiritual apostasy and turn their hearts back to Him. He is very consistent with that. Why would He not raise one up to purify His people coming right out of the dark ages, where so much paganism filtered into his church? If you read the Old Testament through to the New, this is God’s modus operandi.

Am not against, modern day prophets...yeah they are there. Arent you worried that there can be false prophets, or true prophets who also miss the mark somewhere...knowing that none is perfect but the Lord. Remember, many shall come saying Lord lord, did not we prophesy in thy name...and then what! Away from me, ye that work iniquity. In simple terms, knowing that even the very elect can be deceived, your best bet is God Himself. Salvation is serious business to put your eggs in the basket of another human being. And if you remember, the guilty shall no go unpunished, and ignorance is no defense...even in the Old Testament.

She points to Christ, she points Christians back to the Bible and points out unbiblical doctrines that will deceive God’s last day people. Yes I’m afraid of deception, but I also know that 1. God is very consistent in how He does things, according to scripture. 2. He has given us clear ways to test a prophet. You have nothing to fear if you ask God to lead you by His Holy Spirit, and diligently study His word . Writings of Mrs. White helpay faith and trust to our Savior Jesus Christ. Many Pastor of SDA church can't always use Ellen G. White writing because they aren't will verse of E.G.White writings. Other can't accept E.G.White writings because they're not understand the holy Bible and writings of Mrs. White.

At 9:28 you display a quotation from Gospel Workers 1892 - A fantastic book. Are you aware that the GC after her death produced a 2nd Edition where the best chapter ever written (in my view) of Bible Study was removed from the 2nd edition? The chapter removed was "How to Search the Scriptures" in which she admits that she was an "erring mortal" and that we ought to be able, as Christians, to have an investigation of anything new whatever a Bible believing Christian raises as a Biblical concept. It is a great pity the church does not do that. I am a Bible believing, sola scripture Protestant Christian. I am not welcome in the church in the UK. Here's a question for you: give me one prophecy, just one, that EGW made. Deuteronomy's test of a prophet requires prophecy to be tested with fulfilment by humans, i.e. ON EARTH not in heaven! Deuteronomy 18:20 - 22.
When listening to former Adventists who left the church, the biggest majority of them site Ellen White and her writings as the reason for their departure. They imply that most Adventist doctrines are built around the Great Controversy theme which has its foundation based on visions that she stated she received directly from the Lord, thereby equating her inspiration with those prophets of the Bible. That in itself tends to pose a huge problem with a lot of new converts. Where is the churches counter defense?
The 28 Fundamental beliefs of the SDA church are all based on scripture. There is not one doctrine that is not rooted and grounded in scripture. The issue is not Ellen White, it is not the Spirit of God leading these men. As individual Christians we do not follow a church, we follow Christ and the Bible. If her writings do not correspond with the Bible then there’s a problem, but if it perfectly aligns, can an evil tree produce good fruit to the glory of God? SDAs run the risk of doing exactly what the Jews did when they killed God’s prophets and rejected His Son - who was the prophet for their time.
Reading EGW all through her writings.is the theme of obedience to God and getting people back to Gods word and in particular His holy law her favourite text would be Isa 9,: 20 " to the Law and the testimony if they speak not according to this word it ie because there is no light in them . People who reject the Law and the Sabbath because of its inconvenience are the ones who are most forthright In the rejection of EGW . I have never seen anyone so sarcastically criticised and ridiculed as EGW and all she is trying to do is prepare people for the coming of Jesus Who she loved and was the sole purpose of her writings . The investigative judgement that had its genesis in a corn field, concocted by ORL Crosier and Hiram Edson, on October 23rd, 1844, is not biblical, and the majority of SDA bible scholars knows it. The honest ones will admit to the problems with the teaching, mostly off the record, for fear of the consequences for openly saying the truth, but the disingenuous ones will continue to bend the word for it to fit. For this doctrine to fit, there has to be a total ignoring of true biblical contextual application, text bending and theological gymnastics. ORL Crosier eventually denounced the IJ and admitted that when they concocted the doctrine, they were theological novices. Today, the dishonesty continues. And then we take pride in calling out Catholics, Mormons, Pentecostals and JWs, when we have a huge UNBIBLICAL ISSUE RIGHT AT THE HEART OF OUR CHURCH. So, what you're saying about all our doctrines are bible based, is totally NOT TRUE.
Polite question(s) - what is the difference between the SDA quoting Ellen White and the LDS quoting Joseph Smith? For every hundred videos saying EGW was true, there are one hundred refuting her writings. I myself am reading The Great Controversy so I will know firsthand what it says. There is a lot of SDA doctrine that conflicts with the 'baptist' doctrine and I am always listening to videos that present both sides. So far, the only SDA doctrine that seems unrefutable is that the 'sabbath' is Saturday. John Bradshaw has clearly made a solid case for that. If there were a baptist or conservative Methodist (NOT UMC!) that had services on Saturday, I would go there. But all the baptist and Methodists are sticking to the Sunday schedule. @@PastorFeagan I have listened (and am listening to) John Bradshaw, especially Line Upon Line and It is Written. He has some powerful evangelistic messages and Line Upon Line pretty clearly states the SDA doctrines the others say are wrong. But this is probably not the best place to discuss the differences between baptist and SDA doctrine. It just gets so discouraging to see several different faiths all claiming theirs is the only true faith and all the others are false. For each of these faiths, like I said, there will be one hundred videos 'proving' they are correct and then one hundred videos refuting them. I hope I am 'on board' based solely on the KJV - Ephesians 2:8,9, the book of Romans, the history of the church in Acts, so on and so on. Another thing - there are many videos of this person or that person leaving the SDA, LDS, JW, WOF, Islam/Muslim faiths, even videos of those leaving the "Christian' faith. Then plenty of videos of the unbelievers and naysayers 'debunking' Christianity period. I am a believer period. John Bradshaw has several super great evangelistic messages, as does Adrian Rogers, which have really strengthened my faith. So no question here, only that if you sat down people of conflicting doctrines, faiths for a polite discussion on which doctrines are correct, likely most would still be of their doctrine at the end, each one very confident "they" are the one true faith (or for the unbelievers and naysayers, that NONE of the faiths are correct). Like many, I read T.G.C. and did follow-up studies with history on the Sabbath. I was an E.G.W. skeptic and there were many things when I would read her that seemed to either conflict or contradict the scriptures, through prayer I finally realized that either she was God's end-time messenger or she wasn't. Isaiah 8:20 sealed it for me as I began to study her writings contextually, it also occurred to me that since the death of the disciples, and Paul over the last 1800 years not one other single person in history upheld Isaiah 8:20 as to ( The Law ( Sabbath command in particular ) and to the Testimony of Jesus and his word ) in the same fashion as E.G.W does, not one single person. Because of the 2300 days and Miller's failed prediction of the event sister White, many of the SDA founding fathers came out of the false systems of other churches to form the SDA church. Many people who try to oppose the S.O.P. do so because they want a life that is not burdened with sin being called what they want to do is sin. Either we want to be like our savior or we don't, people who try and walk that middle ground, Jesus says he will spew them out of his mouth as lukewarm. Lastly, Those who try and denounce or critique the S.O.P. never use everything she says on the subject, they only use phrases or paragraphs that support their agenda or view. Were they to do it correctly they'd have no followers, people like these are those who have some sin they want to hold onto and still follow or claim to follow Christ. I have had people tell me that as a SDA we teach complete victory over sin and that we can never be perfect like our savior was perfect, so I ask them, what sins should I have asked God not to take away from me when I accepted Jesus and was baptized? Those who teach that complete victory over sin is impossible are basically saying in essence " The devil can tempt you to sin, but Jesus isn't strong enough to keep you from sin " This type of thinking is saying that Satan is stronger than Jesus. My Jesus conquered Sin, and death! " Oh death where is thy sting, oh grave where is thy victory? " Jesus and the Holy Spirit give us the strength to do all things through Christ who strengthens me! This means the complete victory over sin. It's why the song " Victory in Jesus " took on new meaning for me after I became an SDA.

Sounds like presumption on EGW writing. every bible words are inspired, not writing of God directly, they are all testimonies, nothing different from EGW writings. Ellen White's writings are not scripture. She copied the greater portion of her works from other authors and the church's hierarchy, past and present, knows that quite well. It is high time that we as SDAs be HONEST and TRUTHFUL about Ellen White, and the authority given to her ministry in the church. We must exalt the Christ ALONE, and His Holy Word, the Holy Bible. Ellen G., White helped bring me into the SDA church. Her story is an amazing miracle of God. I listened to her book The Great Controversy and learned things I didn't know about the Bible, prophets, prophecy, and the protestant reformation and martyrs for Jesus Christ. The Great Controversy was so interesting that I fell asleep listening to it every night! I'm proud of her because she is a woman, like me, and God the Father, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit lifted her up and used her in a MIGHTY way; Way Back Then! Amen. She has led many, including me, to Christ!! I'm not ashamed of EGW spreading the Gospel even now.

As a new baptised (3 weeks), who (re)discovered with joy the Bible through the testimony of Ellen White, I felt really sad and was planning to leave the church. I was not aware that it’s was a common problem on SDA church. I’m French living in France, Paris.
I’m also concerned about female pastors. So many… and so sad to see the world leading the church. I was convinced by God to leave my feminist spirit through Doug Bachelor’s sermon and just read the Bible and stop fighting against God.

She has more inspired writings than most prophets in the Bible, she is for the modern and to the ending times prophecy for the church. They understand that it is easier for them to manipulate and put the Bible out of context than her writings. Absolute HERESY. The writings of Ellen White have many errors. As long as there are consequences in a church for disagreeing with a non-canonized author, that in itself is a HUGE red flag. The problem in the SDA church now, is the fact that we are following other churches protocol. You get told what to preach, which verses to use, how to say the script given. Preachers are no longer led by the Holy Spirit.
The wheat and tares grow together till the harvest...there are still some God fearing ministers who speak the truth. Ellen said, men of position and institutional training will not be used in the last day, God will raise up humble men who have not sought positions and institutional learning. God will have His faithful right to the end, pray we are among them.

I have not listened to the above post yet but I can tell you why I do not give book, chapter and page when I quote Mrs. White. I believe that our worship service should be for "them" meaning that when a non SDA visits our service I want them to go home and say "I heard a Bible sermon". I believe that even one quote attributed to Mrs White can often turn a person away from truth when that person has not had the background to know we do not worship her nor hold her writings as equal to the Bible. (As the internet will tell them) I do often quote and use the writings of Mrs. White but with out the above mentioned book and page. Thus God has brought to our services over the years several that have joined the SDA movement and LOVE the writings of Mrs. White. Preach the BIBLE. STUDY the Bible AND her writings.
I asked a leader at an institutional lead SDA church what would change if we "Had church for them (non SDA's)". His answer was "We would quote Ellen White less" This after his sermon that day that was about 40 - 50 % quotes.

Ask SDAs about the 1919 bible conference. What was widely known about Ellen White, that was suppressed? Have the hierarchy of the SDA church and the White Estate, past and present been honest? Are there things about Ellen White's writings that they've buried? Hoping that those things will never surface? SDAs are under a state of deception by thinking that the church needs the writings of Ellen White, when they have their bibles. Some are saying that her writings are equal to scripture and some even dare to say that they are superior to scripture. And then they disingenuously chant " SOLA SCRIPTURA," THE BIBLE AND THE BIBLE ALONE. I'm not suggesting that people shouldn't read Ellen White's writings, but to even think to suggest that her writings are on the same level of scripture is dangerously heretical. I shake my head.

I see that the real critics of Ellen White drag her through the mud about so many things. But they don’t research her writings. They take things out of context. They believe their interpretation of scriptures are correct and hers are not. There are reasons she said the things she said about certain subjects. The full picture of why she said these things is not looked into. She certainly teaches a Godly and healthy life and uplifts His Commandments. Read everything she wrote and compare it with the Bible to get the full picture. Don’t take one small thing she wrote and condemn it. Research it!
It is clear you yourself have not dug deep enough, else you would never be saying what you're saying, SDAs needs to be HONEST. We have no problem in exposing all that is wrong about Catholicism, Joseph Smith, Charle Taze Russell and Mary Baker Eddie, but when it comes to Ellen White, we refuse to be critical thinkers and call a spade a spade. We become very defensive and ignore facts that have been proven to be true about things that were written by her that contradicts the thus saith the Lord. There's a greater disappointment coming for Adventism. We are very DISHONEST AND DISIGENUOUS. We must speak the truth. Ellen White's writings are not without error, and they are not necessary for salvation. Ignoring the facts don't ever change the truth about those facts; no matter how much we choose to deny them.
Many of us who studied theology were told not to quote Ellen White from the pulpit. This opens the door for anyone to quote anyone they choose. He leaves the door open for anything other than the Bible. Which should be the only thing preached and taught from the pulpit.

I make no apologies for quoting from Ellen White's writings in my sermons and l never will. The statement about her writings being the "lesser light" has been misused and perverted by people who are too easily influenced by tradition and who inwardly desire an excuse to not obey the word of the Lord through her writings. Look up what Sister White says in "The Desire of Ages" about John the Baptist. She calls him the "lesser light." Now, John the Baptist was a PROPHET whose sermons are recorded in the BIBLE. So, is Ellen White the ONLY "lesser light?" No. Ellen White goes on to say that "no other light has shown brighter than Jesus Christ." So, that means thay ALL the prophets are "lesser lights" compared to Jesus Christ. So, all this teaching about Ellen White being the "lesser light" without considering the statement from the "Desire of Ages" is pure nonsense.
To not obey the word of the Lord through her writings⁉️⁉️ how about obeying Yahuah through his WORD. Philippians 4:6; Be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Yahuah

• people have “animal organs” at the rear, base of their brains
• butter, eggs, salt, pepper and meat should never be placed on the table - especially before young males, since it leads to corrupting their morals

You are 100% right. Let me remind SDAs that there was a time that the majority of people believed that the earth was flat. People were burnt at the stake for voicing otherwise. Eventually more searching and studying was done, and it was proven that the earth was not flat, but round. To this day, some still believe that the earth is flat, despite the strong evidence that peeves otherwise. I said that to say, that many SDAs are ignoring proven facts about the Ellen White factor and are holding on to this false belief that she was a prophet, although it has been proven time and time again that there are serious errors in her writings and that she copied the greater majority of her writings from other authors; even some of the claimed visions were found to be the sayings of other authors. As SDAs, there must be complete HONESTY and TRUTHFULNESS.

One caution I would make here is that you always have to take what a prophet says about himself with a pinch of salt. A true prophet NEVER boasts about his calling.
When John the Baptist was asked if he was Elijah he said, "No"(John 1:21). Yet Jesus said that in fact John was Elijah. (Matt 11:14). Who was right? John or Jesus?
You need to think this through a bit more. Kindly provide just one example of what any true prophet said about himself that should be taken "with a pinch of salt."
Since this video is about Sister White, it's implied that she boasts about her calling. Please provide just one clear example of her boasting about her calling. Before you do this, you might do well to read the definition of "boast" in an English dictionary and carefully consider what those accepted as true prophets said about themselves.
If you think that either John or Jesus was mistaken was mistaken about being or not being Elijah, you should carefully read the four gospels again and The Desire of Ages. There is absolutely NO contradiction between what John said and what Jesus said.
Lastly, Elijah was also prophesied to come before the second coming of Christ. Let that sink in.
Ellen White didn't call herself a prophet. The people did. She called herself a lesser like and quoted the Bible in her writings.

My point is that EGW never boasted about her calling even though she was called to be a prophetess, the same way in which John the Baptist did not even know he was fulfilling the Elijah prophecy. Prophets are always MORE than they would claim themselves to be. John said that he was just a voice crying in the wilderness whereas Jesus said that John was the greatest prophet this world has ever seen, (Matthew 11:11).

Please show me one statement where Sister White called the Bible the greater light. The quote from 3SM at 5:36 doesn't have the word Bible after "greater light." But there are several quotes (I can get them, if you like) where she calls Christ the greater light. So, this statement has greater meaning when you take her other statements about greater/lesser light, Christ is the greater light, the Bible and the spirit of prophecy are the lesser lights. This makes more sense when compared to your statement about the same spirit guiding Isaiah and Jeremiah that guided Sister White. This understanding you have taken of this passage (and it's been around for decades) is one step toward down grading the spirit of prophecy.
Ellen White's writings are not scripture. They are also not without error. SDAs need to get back to the bible. That was the plea she made in her last public appearance, when she held up a bible before a sitting of leaders and lay personnel and admonished them to get back to the BIBLE. This lesser light and greater light foolishness are just cheeky ways of trying to apply a level of reverence where it doesn't belong. It's mind boggling to hear SDAs call out Mormons, JWs and Catholics for the very same thing they're doing with the writings of Ellen White. I shake my head. God help us yes.🙏

There is a “professor” on utube who’s life mission is to make X-SDAs like himself targeting EGW. One mistake I think SDAs make is to refer to EGW as “THE spirit of prophecy”. I believe she HAD the spirit of prophecy. She was a prophet for the church and people have been converted to Christ by reading her. The SDA denomination has the most Biblically accurate interpretation of doctrine and prophecy thanks to EGWs visions that helped the early pioneers of the faith to make correct interpretations of Prophecy.
All of the prophets that we quote from in the bible have long died but we still quote them. eg Jeremiah

I've NEVER really understood why God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are/is just not enough for the Christian....I just never understand that part. If you can revisit 1 Cor 2:11, then you will understand that NO ONE can make you understand the Lord or His Word, more than Himself. There is no human being that will explain to you God and His word more than He, Himself. The Holy Spirit in you will lead you into ALL truth. John 16:13. Your best bet is to go to God, the source of your salvation and the author and finisher of your faith, Hebrews 12:2. Christians, why can't God be ENOUGH for you and me?
God sees it fit to raise up a prophet during the judgement of His people, to open their eyes to spiritual apostasy and turn their hearts back to Him. He is very consistent with that. Why would He not raise one up to purify His people coming right out of the dark ages, where so much paganism filtered into his church? If you read the Old Testament through to the New, this is God’s modus operandi.

Am not against, modern day prophets...yeah they are there. At 9:28 you display a quotation from Gospel Workers 1892 - A fantastic book. Are you aware that the GC after her death produced a 2nd Edition where the best chapter ever written (in my view) of Bible Study was removed from the 2nd edition? The chapter removed was "How to Search the Scriptures" in which she admits that she was an "erring mortal" and that we ought to be able, as Christians, to have an investigation of anything new whatever a Bible believing Christian raises as a Biblical concept. It is a great pity the church does not do that. I am a Bible believing, sola scripture Protestant Christian. I am not welcome in the church in the UK. Here's a question for you: give me one prophecy, just one, that EGW made. Deuteronomy's test of a prophet requires prophecy to be tested with fulfilment by humans, i.e. ON EARTH not in heaven! Deuteronomy 18:20 - 22.

When listening to former Adventists who left the church, the biggest majority of them site Ellen White and her writings as the reason for their departure. They imply that most Adventist doctrines are built around the Great Controversy theme which has its foundation based on visions that she stated she received directly from the Lord, thereby equating her inspiration with those prophets of the Bible. That in itself tends to pose a huge problem with a lot of new converts. Where is the churches counter defense?
The 28 Fundamental beliefs of the SDA church are all based on scripture. There is not one doctrine that is not rooted and grounded in scripture. The issue is not Ellen White, it is not the Spirit of God leading these men. As individual Christians we do not follow a church, we follow Christ and the Bible. If her writings do not correspond with the Bible then there’s a problem, but if it perfectly aligns, can an evil tree produce good fruit to the glory of God? SDAs run the risk of doing exactly what the Jews did when they killed God’s prophets and rejected His Son - who was the prophet for their time.
Reading EGW all through her writings.is the theme of obedience to God and getting people back to Gods word and in particular His holy law her favourite text would be Isa 9,: 20 " to the Law and the testimony if they speak not according to this word it ie because there is no light in them . The investigative judgement that had its genesis in a corn field, concocted by ORL Crosier and Hiram Edson, on October 23rd, 1844, is not biblical, and the majority of SDA bible scholars knows it. The honest ones will admit to the problems with the teaching, mostly off the record, for fear of the consequences for openly saying the truth, but the disingenuous ones will continue to bend the word for it to fit.
For this doctrine to fit, there has to be a total ignoring of true biblical contextual application, text bending and theological gymnastics. ORL Crosier eventually denounced the IJ and admitted that when they concocted the doctrine, they were theological novices. Today, the dishonesty continues. And then we take pride in calling out Catholics, Mormons, Pentecostals and JWs, when we have a huge UNBIBLICAL ISSUE RIGHT AT THE HEART OF OUR CHURCH.
So, what you're saying about all our doctrines are bible based, is totally NOT TRUE.
Polite question(s) - what is the difference between the SDA quoting Ellen White and the LDS quoting Joseph Smith? For every hundred videos saying EGW was true, there are one hundred refuting her writings. I myself am reading The Great Controversy so I will know firsthand what it says. There is a lot of SDA doctrine that conflicts with the 'baptist' doctrine and I am always listening to videos that present both sides. So far, the only SDA doctrine that seems unrefutable is that the 'sabbath' is Saturday. John Bradshaw has clearly made a solid case for that. If there were a baptist or conservative Methodist (NOT UMC!) that had services on Saturday, I would go there. But all the baptist and Methodists are sticking to the Sunday schedule. @@PastorFeagan I have listened (and am listening to) John Bradshaw, especially Line Upon Line and It is Written. He has some powerful evangelistic messages and Line Upon Line pretty clearly states the SDA doctrines the others say are wrong. But this is probably not the best place to discuss the differences between baptist and SDA doctrine. It just gets so discouraging to see several different faiths all claiming theirs is the only true faith and all the others are false. For each of these faiths, like I said, there will be one hundred videos 'proving' they are correct and then one hundred videos refuting them. I hope I am 'on board' based solely on the KJV - Ephesians 2:8,9, the book of Romans, the history of the church in Acts, so on and so on. Another thing - there are many videos of this person or that person leaving the SDA, LDS, JW, WOF, Islam/Muslim faiths, even videos of those leaving the "Christian' faith. Then plenty of videos of the unbelievers and naysayers 'debunking' Christianity period. I am a believer period. John Bradshaw has several super great evangelistic messages, as does Adrian Rogers, which have really strengthened my faith. So no question here, only that if you sat down people of conflicting doctrines, faiths for a polite discussion on which doctrines are correct, likely most would still be of their doctrine at the end, each one very confident "they" are the one true faith (or for the unbelievers and naysayers, that NONE of the faiths are correct). @@davidadams8726 Hi David, I want to encourage you, brother! I was a Baptist also at one time, the Sabbath truth and the understanding of that truth started my journey in the search for all truth. Like many, I read T.G.C. and did follow-up studies with history on the Sabbath. I was an E.G.W. skeptic and there were many things when I would read her that seemed to either conflict or contradict the scriptures, through prayer I finally realized that either she was God's end-time messenger or she wasn't.
Isaiah 8:20 sealed it for me as I began to study her writings contextually, it also occurred to me that since the death of the disciples, and Paul over the last 1800 years not one other single person in history upheld Isaiah 8:20 as to ( The Law ( Sabbath command in particular ) and to the Testimony of Jesus and his word ) in the same fashion as E.G.W does, not one single person. Because of the 2300 days and Miller's failed prediction of the event sister White, many of the SDA founding fathers came out of the false systems of other churches to form the SDA church. Many people who try to oppose the S.O.P. do so because they want a life that is not burdened with sin being called what they want to do is sin. Either we want to be like our savior or we don't, people who try and walk that middle ground, Jesus says he will spew them out of his mouth as lukewarm.
Lastly, Those who try and denounce or critique the S.O.P. never use everything she says on the subject, they only use phrases or paragraphs that support their agenda or view. Were they to do it correctly they'd have no followers, people like these are those who have some sin they want to hold onto and still follow or claim to follow Christ. I have had people tell me that as a SDA we teach complete victory over sin and that we can never be perfect like our savior was perfect, so I ask them, what sins should I have asked God not to take away from me when I accepted Jesus and was baptized? Those who teach that complete victory over sin is impossible are basically saying in essence " The devil can tempt you to sin, but Jesus isn't strong enough to keep you from sin " This type of thinking is saying that Satan is stronger than Jesus. My Jesus conquered Sin, and death!
" Oh death where is thy sting, oh grave where is thy victory? " Jesus and the Holy Spirit give us the strength to do all things through Christ who strengthens me! This means the complete victory over sin. It's why the song " Victory in Jesus " took on new meaning for me after I became an SDA.

The Apostle wrote scripture. Ellen White's writings are not scripture, nor are they without error. Didn't Ellen White herself say that the Bible and the Bible alone should be heard from the pulpit? I have no problem with reading or using her writings, but this over emphasis on her writings as if they were absolutely necessary for salvation is very heretical and dangerous. And then we want to correct Catholics, Mormons and JWs? I shake my head. The Bible is its own interpreter. The Bible has EVERYTHING the Christian needs for navigating one's way through this life. The Bible is complete. The Bible absolutely need NO propping up. The Bible needs no extra biblical addition to authenticate it.

Sounds like presumption on EGW writing. every bible words are inspired, not writing of God directly, they are all testimonies, nothing different from EGW writings. Only the commandments of God are the greatest light. The law of moses testified the commandments of God; Book of Joshua testified the laws of Moses, then the prophets come later keeping testified previous writing of the prophets; and so keeping the same method goes on and on. So do you means that every prophet that comes later is made lesser?

Dude you are contradicting yourself, you are slowly beginning to sound like these very pastors who don't want the SOP. How can the truth be too much in the church of God. Is there anything like that? In my mind, there is absolutely no difference in the spirit that inspired both so why would we feel that this is too much and the other is not. This is the intolerance building up that leads to the same attitude of people who kill the prophets.
Ellen White's writings are not scripture. She copied the greater portion of her works from other authors and the church's hierarchy, past and present, knows that quite well. It is high time that we as SDAs be HONEST and TRUTHFUL about Ellen White, and the authority given to her ministry in the church. We must exalt the Christ ALONE, and His Holy Word, the Holy Bible. Anything extra biblical MUST be subject to the Bible.

Who ever loves the Jesus, none Adventist or an Adventist if they come in contact with EGW's writing, they Always testify that the writer of book loves the LORD. To is the fulfilment of John 10:27, therefore regardless of congregation Bible must preach, if the topic needs the clarification or supports of the spirit of prophecy must be also use. Ellin White said her writings must not go on the pulpit. She said the bible and bible alone must go to the pulpit. I do believe she is God's last day messenger with warning to God last day people.

You will find that what she said is not to use her writings for teaching those who have not accepted Seventh-day Adventist doctrine as in the Bible. She NEVER said that what she wrote shouldn't be used in a Seventh-day Adventist church service.
