- Time for some stereo upgrades to my 21 Indian Challenger Limited! Indian has released their 2024 line up of bikes, and with it a new version of their Powerband speaker upgrades! How do those work anyway and what's new with them? I get into it and discuss the route I went with my own upgrades!

How I have Android Auto on an Indian: amzn.to/4589PR0
I visited my local Indian Dealership, Spartan Indian here in Detroit area and I had a chancento hear the new powerband setup in a 2024 Pursuit, while the bike was inside, the system was vastly better than the previous oem setups. Now for me, in really in audio so I plan to get the wiring harness from Davidson Audio, 3 soundigital 800.4, 1 soundigital 3000.1 a arc audio dsp, galeforce f1 6.5", F3 6.5", F3 8" and a pair of 10" midbass. So for me its still oem setup but if your just wanting oem, the powerband setup. More than enough. Actually 1 could just add 8" midbass in bags and a small amp amd be done with it.
So help me understand the point of the speaker system to begin with, when you are wearing a full face helmet. Wouldn't that be useless to use when you can just use helmet audio? I'm on a road king so no fairing or speakers and I run a full face with audio it in for music. Never been on a fairing bike so maybe people still use it with a full helmet, wasn't sure.
Oh yeah you can easily hear the music through the helmet, no problem. There's a few advantages IMHO to using the speakers over the helmet audio. I do use the helmet speakers for some things, like listening to audio books or podcasts on long trips, but for music I just find it a lot less distracting playing through the speakers. It's also easier to hear things going on around you, when you're blasting music in your helmet it sort of cuts off the outside world, and you can't even hear things like sirens or horns honking. Not to mention, in traffic it's one more thing that lets people know you're there.
The powerband V2s are better than the V1s......
The 1st version is not really better than the factory 6 1/2" speakers.
Hahaha, that's completely wrong my friend. Did you bother watching the video at all?
The 1st gens and 2nd gens are literally the same speakers, as confirmed by Indian, I literally put their email on the screen. They both instruct the ECM to give double the power to the speaker, and the they both are self amplified. There's a HUGE difference between the 50W 6.5" speakers and the 100W Powerband 6.5" speakers. Not only can literally every person who has heard the before and after getting Gen 1s on their own bike tell you that it was an absolutely massive difference on upgrade, as well as the difference just handling the speakers but there's plenty of documentation showing the difference between the 50W 6.5" speaker that comes in the limited and the 100W Powerband.
Meanwhile, anyone who has heard a 2024 Powerband next to a 21 Powerband with the Bass Boost upgrade can tell you it's the exact same sound. There's no difference.

RUclipsrs : rydingfish & DAVIDSON AUDIO Did a 3- way comparrison...
3 bikes , side by side...
Unless you have two bikes , im gonna take what they said as truth...
There's a v2 , for THAT REASON.
So help me if you could. You only added the front fairing & you feel it was worth it...? Total cost just under $650..?
I have a Challenger, not a Pursuit, so I only have the front speakers. "Worth it" is relative. Like I said in the vid, it's a shit load of money for a quality upgrade to an already pretty decent stereo. If you're ok with spending that kind of scratch, than yes I think that it's worth it. It's a very noticeable difference, much clearer and louder.
@@cl2eep_rides ok, did you need to remove the fairing or just the speaker grills..?
The speaker swap is insanely easy, you just pop the grills off and it's 4 hex head screws and a connector that just has a little button that you pull apart. Takes less than 10 min.
I did mine today, swapped out fairing speakers, and it was so quick. The speakers even come with a plastic prybar to get the covers off.
@dylanvelasquez3379 did buy the bass boost or did the dealer have it & they did it for you..?
Do you have to do front and rear speakers on pursuit to upgrade the bass boost flash or can you just do fronts?
All 4, unfortunately. Every speaker on the bike has to be Powerband.
