- We're putting together a traditional Inuit sled design called a qamutiik to haul the logs we need for the cordwood sauna's timber framing. But once it's together we get into a jam on the beaver pond as the warmer weather has left the ice conditions unfavourable.

I have enjoyed all your videos , but this one simply awesome !!! thank you once again
Very much appreciated. Thanks for the kind words.
Watched your video many times since last year and this year again
I made 4 qamutiqs last year , though 3 on a 7 degree angle and worked fine. Never got loose, and made one straight cut like the way they make it here and 1 side after being used got loose so had problem coming back from fishing . So I put it in peace’s and cut my 7 degree angle and never have any problems with it 🤞🤗
Just want to say Thank you very much 🙏
Awesome video of the family n lil project bud
Much appreciated, Brian. Thanks for the comments
Nice project...My grand kids will like this. Thanks for the vid...
Yeah my boys were pretty into it right away. Tough sled too. Hauls a lot.
Nice, but what did you use to cut notches in your decking?
I used a bandsaw, but you could use a jigsaw, a coping saw, or just a handsaw and do simple V's.
@@HayWoodsandWetlands Just v cuts? yours look like they are somewhat curved on one side or is it just me seeing things again, thanks for the reply.
@@SonnyVator Mine have a curve you're correct. Again, Bandsaw, Jigsaw or Coping saw could achieve this, but if you only had a hand saw the straight V's would probably work fine.
@@HayWoodsandWetlands Thanks again Chief!
Did yoy cut the 7 degrees on the table saw?
Just with a skil saw. Doesn't need to be super precise.
@@HayWoodsandWetlands 👍i am inuk from nunavut and watching this 😁
