    I have a G3C and a Gx4 and love them both. The 4 is my favorite now and with a 13 round mag its my EDC relegating the G3C to home defense. Taurus has resolved their past problems, my pistols are failure free with 400 rounds thru the 4 and 1200 thru the 3.

    I recently bought this little Taurus and have put about 300 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. Personally, I would never buy any new gun and take it out and shoot it without first field stripping it and cleaning and lubricating it. Sometimes, there can be metal or plastic particles from the machining process that didn't get cleaned out at the factory that can cause malfunctions and/or cause damage. Unless you are buying a gun to torture test and don't plan on keeping it I would never do this. It isn't a fair test of the gun or manufacturer, and in a "worse case scenario" such as out in a desert the gun wouldn't have started out dry and possibly damaged out of the box. Thats just my opinion, but I've bought 7 new Taurus pistols in the last few years, and clean and lubricated, they have all run perfectly. Good shooting, good video.

    My girlfriend has this as her first ever gun, and has been doing well with it! Gun has yet to malfunction other that bullet jam from limp wrist, and slide not locking open sometimes but will count that towards break in period. This gun is actually alot more comfortable to shoot than the Springfield Hellcat, and is alot easier to control.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      Against someone who has a REAL gun and is committed to taking your life? Yes, absolutely useless. Getting shot by a Byrna is like getting shot by a paintball gun, which people regularly do for fun mind you. Anybody who is mad and determined enough to harm you with ANY object, even if just their fists, is going to charge right through that as soon as they realize it's going puff puff puff instead of BANG BANG BANG. • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  10 месяцев назад +1

      The grip texture and fitment is so good on this thing, it doesn't matter. I just did a video comparing it to a P365, but I had 12rd mags on the P365 giving me a full grip with no pinky hang and I felt no advantage on the P365 with the longer grip. As I said in the video, you can get longer 13rd mags for the GX4 to make the grip longer, but apparently (I'm told) Taurus sells the pinky extension plates for $5. But to answer your question, gun feels great even with my pinky hanging off- but that's just me.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  Год назад +2

      If it's for home defense then you want a larger gun. The only reason we buy these micro or sub compact pistols is for conceal carry, because the others are too large and heavy for that (for most people). The larger size is an advantage though, because you get a better grip on the gun, it recoils less, gives higher bullet velocity which equals more power/better performance, and it holds more ammo. So again, for home defense, definately go larger- in which case I would definately recommend the full size Taurus G3 or a Stoeger STR-9 on a budget. Both are around $250-$300 but you can find better deals sometimes.

      That's why I said or the holster, because I wasn't sure if you were implying that it was defective or if it was just by design. I don't think Taurus designed the GX4 to be a pocket gun, but rather for IWB carry which usually implores the use of a hard skeleton holster. I pocket carry my LCP Max and I have the same issue you describe, but I have it in a soft pocket holster that doesn't protect the mag release as I assume you did as well. If you put it in something like the Vedded Holsters Pocket Locker holster, you probably wouldn't of had that issue. @@BuckeyeBallistics ok thanks for the response back. I was thinking it would be a great first gun since it’s not too big and it’s not too expensive. Don’t they range from about $250-$300?

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  Год назад

      $250-$350, shop around. For a first gun I would recommend the Taurus G2c/G3c because it is a lot easier to hold onto. Just a little larger and less recoil. These micro 9's like the GX4 here have pretty stout recoil due to the tiny size, light weight, and the grip being so small. Stout recoil with a tiny grip isn't exactly the best recipe for a first time gun owner...

    TAURUS BUYERS BEWARE: I purchased a new Taurus GX4 that was to come with a $50.00 rebate. After four months I have nothing. In a recent phone call to Taurus, I was told I would have to contact a third party and was given three phone numbers to call. I didn’t purchase the firearm from a third party.!
    I don’t have time to chase down a third party for a $50.00 rebate. You can’t trust TAURUS !

      I still have 1-3 weeks to wait for mine (6-8 weeks quoted). I didn't like all the hoops I had to jump through to file my rebate with Taurus, compared to how smooth it was filing (and getting) one from Stoeger. We'll see how it goes when my 8 weeks are up. They jerk me around, I'm absolutely posting a video about it...

    The stoeger str9 mc hands down is better budget gun. The gx4 is junk a lot of problems and videos of owners showing it has a bad reset trigger and slide which is causing delayed firing of next round. Taurus is being sued and doing a recall as people have been seriously injured. Look up videos of gx4 recall and delayed firing. This gun is junk and dangerous!
    The g3c is a good gun. Get stoeger line is even better . Stoeger is owned by beretta benelli corp and is their budget line of pistols, shotguns
