Installed a CB in my resurrected from death '97 Tacoma. We've been all over the Rockies. Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Mountains & Deserts, & you'll never hear any chatter on the old CB Radio anywhere. Since the Trucking Industry has been taken over by GOV. Trucks are all GPS located. Drivers don't ever talk on the CB's anymore. (Now would be a good time for every country boy to get one in their rig. You might need it in the not too distant future.).
I love your show , nice video sir. I bought that same Truck for $75 one time from and old farmer about 2 miles from my Home. I bought it , brought it home , I cleaned with soap and water , sold it for $1k dollars a week later, not a bad profit for a Truck with a gun rack too , lol. My Trucks body was beat up pretty bad , if it was straight I would have made more Money on it . -Tony
i like the way you troubleshoot with your old parts before replacing with new tuneup ; this is the proper way ,otherwise you can sometimes fix the symptom without finding the cause

That badge in the middle of the hood on that body style of f100s: the lighting cog means straight 6 and the v8 of course means v8. That’s the way to tell without opening the hood.
That old Ford needs some attention, but I think she’s salvageable, a few rust holes to patch and weld. This could be a fun project for a beginner or a little hot rod project for someone a little more experienced. These are hard to find up here, in the Salt rust belt!

It was either the 223 or 262 CI straight 6 for that year. You got the 223 cuz the oil fill cap is in the first front quarter of the valve cover, the 262's cap is on the second quarter.

I love everyone in the south when they talk about rust on vehicles.. hell growing up in the Chicagoland area that truck would have been rusted to death and crushed by mid 70s and made into another car and that car would have been crushed 2 times over by now .lol
The 300 or 4.9 was the best in my opinion. Ay the moment can't think of the older numbers but they are all pretty much bulletproof. I have faith Lucie will run. Working at the local machine shop I know they have engine bearing and head issues

Yea , was Hot one today, especially doing some welding, I too have some roof repair on my Ford to finish tomorrow, after 2.5 years, one pandemic, one triple by-pass ; time get plates & ins take on trip to the store. Yep that whole supposed to be there, if leaks out that then the inner seal is bad , so is the pump. Stocked, funny you mention that, I have bought NEW Oil filter for Bronco every time gone to the parts store, i have yet to change the the oil. I have like 3 now.

I love mid sixties Ford trucks especially the 1965 F250 camper special custom cab. My dad had one in caribbean turquoise with white grille and bumpers with a slide in camper. 4 cylinder Ford tractors, flathead v/8s, and some 223 sixes had a small metal clip that went on the distributor shaft under the rotor, that was easy to lose if you weren’t careful. It took up the space that you are seeing, in that “ slop “ back and forth in the rotor. They will run without it, however. I’ve got a 64 just like it, except it has a screaming 292 V/8!

likely a 240 engine . . For a 64 $1400.00 gets you a complete floor from firewall to the back of the cab with crossmembers , cab mounts , rocker panels and front panels for the rear cab corners . I have a 66 I am working on .... bagging it and custom interior and a fresh paint job .
@@PuddinsFabShop my bad you are right , I had 240 0n the brain because I see so many of them in these old 65's and 66's . the 262 was in the medium duty trucks and not used in F100's , the 223 was in about 90% of the F100/250's but in the last couple of months of the 64's the 240 was phased in .

likely a 240 engine . . For a 64 $1400.00 gets you a complete floor from firewall to the back of the cab with crossmembers , cab mounts , rocker panels and front panels for the rear cab corners . I have a 66 I am working on .... bagging it and custom interior and a fresh paint job .

@@PuddinsFabShop my bad you are right , I had 240 0n the brain because I see so many of them in these old 65's and 66's . the 262 was in the medium duty trucks and not used in F100's , the 223 was in about 90% of the F100/250's but in the last couple of months of the 64's the 240 was phased in .

My old man brought a Mercury home like this once for $10 bucks from a farm auction. Put some gas down the carb and a battery in her and she ran!? Us boys drove it for a year or so until we had money for something better to take to town. Still out in the pasture. Might do another will she run episode.
