A trick I learned from an old guy when I was a young guy: Old engines often had stretched timing chains so the lights often didn't jive timing marks. He would fill a glass with water then set it on the fender. He would adjust the distributor so the water in the glass would develop concentric circles from the center. That meant the engine harmonics were balanced.
This is why modern two-stage paint systems suck. You can't do that to a clear coat when it inevitably goes away. I think clear coat was invented by the paint industry to sell more paint.
So rare to find a 1958 Apache out of commission in that great of condition. Many would love to own it. Slick's family is going to be so surprised to see what great work you have done to revive it to an awesome looking daily driver.
Oh yeah! A morning with Morske, and an evening with Puddin! A 2 for one day, so it don’t get much better! You did a masterful job on getting a stubborn old truck running right. It is a shame, but you see it more and more that some parts are very difficult to find for the older vehicles. Slick did his big time shine up, and when you both get ready done, she will be a sweet going to town rig, for his family to enjoy. Great job Guys! Merry Christmas 🎄🎅☃️❄️🌨️🙏🏻⛪️😊
If anyone plans on becoming a mechanic they need to watch this video. If you don't have any patients, than this might not be the career for you buddy!!! Always expect the worst because most of the time things never go right. This way you will only have yourself to blame when things go wrong!!! This is why mechanics get paid the big bucks, and rightly so, they deserve every dime they make!!! Thank you to all the hard working mechanics out there for keeping us safe!!! Thank you doctor puddin for sharing, and all your hard work without two hours of talking!!!
The fuel pump vacuum attachment is for vacuum windshield wipers and the choke should have a hard line going to the exhaust manifold. There is usually a hole in the exhaust manifold that you push the hard line into it if it has one.
Puddin' those fuel pumps usually go between manifold vacuum and the wiper motor. It can really go between manifold vacuum and anything that needs a good healthy source of vacuum. This was a parts store option to help vacuum options continue to work on tired old motors that didn't have any vacuum left. I had one on my 51 flathead with a giant cam and it definitely helped.
Truck is turning really nice, kinda like the caps, sorta matches the steering wheel cap. Definitely caught the quick glance on the 61 Brookwood wagon, can't wait for that.
I mean, I know you're not especially good with the power washer, but you make it work as its own segment! Hilarious! 🤣Taco Boy! That's half the battle! You guys did a fantastic job, it's a beauty!
Awesome 58 Apache, sweet looking truck. I would take her in a heart beat. Appreciate you helping Slick's family. Big heart Puddin. Man upstairs got gold stars on your record,he knows how you roll.
Do a few more of these 'radical' US-made vehicles and your mistakes will go down to zero. Practice, practice, practice! Slick and you have done a phenomenal job cleaning and buffing the truck. It looks great with the whitewalls and the white rims. Merry Christmas to all!
when she's fully roadworthy she'll be a great little run around pickup. Chevy straight 6's aren't hard to come up with or to maintain, it'll give good mpg too if tuned right and you're half nice to it.
These videos are so great. Pressure washing never gets old. Slick throwing it and you catching it off angle is too funny. I couldn't imaging doing all of the mechanic-ing you do - let alone the researching, filming and editing and a hilarious explanatory running commentary.
Is it bad I make my husband wait to watch Puddin's videos till I can sit and watch too?😂 We both look forward to Mondays! Merry Christmas Puddin Family!!
I think it's so funny, out of all your trucks you put your small econ-O-box towrolla through way more abuse than anything else! lmao love the content and the truck turned out great!
I am really glad and relieved you found that set of break tools. It makes life a lot easier, especially on your knuckles. Enjoy, because I'm enjoying watching and listening to you explain everything you do. I hope your family is doing all right, take care, be safe.
Besides all the humor, your ingenious workarounds, (slop out of the distributor) are some of my favorite repairs you do. Thank you. Also love when your emotions get the best of you and you don’t try to hide it.
B.E.A.UTILFUL truck you got there, looking forward on the return to Slick's family. That'll be Slick's Christmas gift to his Family. Great Job Mr. Puddin' and Slick's polishing work.
And people will think those caps are factory. I have a few Oldsmobile 88's and they all came with 14" steel wheels and wire hubcaps... I swapped out the wheels from a 1994 Silhouette (15" aluminum) and everyone thinks they were a factory option!
In mechanic school I learned for drum brakes, you have to adjust the shoes out until the drums stop spinning, then adjust them in until they just barely drag, so they can center themselves, when doing that, the amount of loosening the adjuster should be identical with each brake. I learned this for agricultural equipment and trailers, so IDK if this works for cars too, but i figured
That is one good looking truck, mate. Her blue and white paint job really works well and the white wheels and white walls just set her off. All that work - it's got to make you feel good moving her around under her own steam (and stopping!) when she was in such a state when she first rolled off the trailer. Yeah - finding parts for the old beasts (especially something like the original) isn't as easy as it was 20 years ago, but they will be out there.....although it stands to reason why people have thrown brakes, spindles, rear ends etc off later model vehicles into them just to keep them on the road. Like you, I'd drive the tyres off of the beast just as she is. A vehicle like that - and especially being so original - she needs to be out and about and seen for the gem she is. Great work, mate. Hope you find the parts you need to finish her soon. All the best.
Thank Ya Kindly Mr. Puddin, For Another Fantastic Video!!! That Truck Defines Awesome!!! Prayers To Mama Bear And The Cubs!!! You Got A Big Family Out Here Praying And Rooting For You!!! Hey .... What Is High In The The Middle And Round At Both Ends?????? O -HI- O , And Thats Where We're From, Keep On Rockin' It.....LOL ...You Know We Watched The Video, Love Peace, And Chicken Grease!!! Steve And Marcy!
This truck without a doubt is my top rescue Love those old Chevy pickups and this one seems to be in fantastic shape perfect candidate for a complete restoration Don't get me wrong I would drive the wheels off of it right now lol Great job you guys
Great show! The R hubcap is from a Rambler American, probably mid-60s. I had 3 of them (the cars not the hubcaps) as a teenager in the mid-70s. Mostly reclaimed will-it-runs. One of them several different times. (We traded cars a lot in my group of friends.) I think my first one cost me $25.00 at the salvage yard.
It’s Time for your daily dose of Puddin y’all. Wowsers this turned out beautiful. Can’t believe it. Can’t wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld on. Keep Making. God bless.

Man it's insane how good that paint looks after the buff job!

Modern paint is super thin... Just add an equally thin clear coat... D U N!
Best part of Monday,,,,,,, Puddin time

Hope you're having a good Monday
Prayers for your wife and her heart monitor thing.
Yeah. Hope everything is good
The man who made Monday the day to look forward too
No kidding, in all of my 31 years I have never looked forward to this day until I started watching puddin like 2 years ago
Cool to see a mostly stock project, brining around a gem.

That 58 is sweet. You two knocked it out of the park.
What a beauty that truck is!! She shined up real nice.
Buffing that old paint did the trick. Great job guys.

Damn Puddin, you've run into every problem that you could have with that truck.
At least the radiator was still solid! Sometimes they can develop a pin hole leak in a solder joint.
When slick shows up “R Ford Ranger?” Got me busting up. Then again at the end.
“PING! just the same!” 😂😂😂😂
That thing has come up so nice! Paint looks amazing for how old it is.
I can’t believe the condition of the body on that truck! She’s beautiful, and I wouldn’t change a thing, as far as looks go! Loved the video!
If he still got it throw an alternator on it
Man this thing cleaned up good!! Ole Slick's fam is gonna dig it for sure!!
The "amateur weekend" comment by Slick was the best. It sure cleaned up great! You've done some nice work on it. That is one beautiful truck.
Hey Puddin, you got that Apache lookin so sweet that you got this Apache (WMAT) wantin it! ❤❤❤😊
That vacuum line does indeed go to the wiper motor and there should be a second line out of the wiper motor to the intake.
But I no see no vakkum motor for the windy-shield wipers. (Didn't the '58's have electrick wipers?)
Puddin that hub cap with the R came off a RAMLER from the 60dys!
@@rickn8or they came on with the switch, no motor running. Can't be
@@ryurc3033, I thought so. My '56 Chebby had electrick wipers, so...
@@rickn8or I know the 57 chevys’ could have either. Higher end cars had the electric and lower cost ones had the vacuum.
Hope miss Puddin is ok and the rest of your family as well

Thanks buddy 👍

I love that truck. I never wanted to own an old truck as much as I want that one. So clean. You guys did great work.

Hot damn she shined up nicely the center caps are not bad neither.looking better and better everytime you guys touch it.
Should do a show, show how Slick brings the color back in the paint. Wow that looks really nice
That truck is turning out awesome! Beautiful old rig!
Looks like a brand new truck, I like it.
Puddin, u might not put out a video everyday or every other day & that's just fine. U put out long videos & that's perfect.
Those hubcaps would be a great decoration for the new shop!
I’d buy and daily that truck 24/7
Finally something good to watch...
Omg 😆 cleaning the water pump fittings had me rolling. smh 🤦♂️ that’s way I love this channel great content Puddin
I've loved this series AND this ol' truck! BTW, the hub cap came from an old self-propelled rototiller "R" - but you probably knew that.
when she's fully roadworthy she'll be a great little run around pickup.
Chevy straight 6's aren't hard to come up with or to maintain, it'll give good mpg too if tuned right and you're half nice to it.

A puddin video to help my constipation 👍 THANK YOU SIR !!
Looks like a good 20+ years of deferred maintenance in 1 video. Nice!
I really like the old Chevy iron. Nice job boys.
Nice job! Glad to see that GM coming along. Thanks for taking us along.
Vice grip fork lift towrolla FTW!!!
I really would love to find one of these in such good shape.
I had a 235 powered 55 Belair with that carburetor. It had a tube that went down and sucked heat from the exhaust manifold. Great video as always
These videos are so great. Pressure washing never gets old. Slick throwing it and you catching it off angle is too funny. I couldn't imaging doing all of the mechanic-ing you do - let alone the researching, filming and editing and a hilarious explanatory running commentary.

Old-school Buick Riviera center caps is what you have there and nice ones at that

I cannot believe how great that truck is coming along.
Nice work! She'll definitely meet the requirements of being road worthy. Thanks for sharing!
Good looking truck man, that was a nice transformation.
Slick seems like a good dude too.
Oh yes, cant wait for the 61 wagon, the 58 Apache is looking sweet, looking forward to the oil and brake leak repair video and then the family reveal.
I think it's so funny, out of all your trucks you put your small econ-O-box towrolla through way more abuse than anything else! lmao love the content and the truck turned out great!
I've killed a Corolla. She didn't go down easy, I'll tell you that.
You need slick on the main channel, y’all’s banter is funny as hell and it makes the second channel that much better!
Here we go with another good one!!
I'd be proud to own that truck .
You nailed it’s amazing how you make a old truck come back to life with a lot of work thanks I’m sure he will greatly appreciate it
😮 Dang you guys made her pop!!!!✨✨✨✨✨
She looks and sounds great. You guys are doing a great job.
I haven't seen many things a quick little suck job couldn't fix. Man this truck is nice! Super Slick after some lovin'.
