Gran Turismo 3, however, I unlocked the XJ220 legit. Same for GT4, GT5, and GT6. Even if there are things that differentiate between the two, the XJ220 did carry a torch on behalf of the GT90 and was a great car across several games.

Since Jaguar ended the production run for the XJ220, because they lost money on every unit sold, they were basically out 250.000$ of then-money for every car before adding the changes. It was simply deemed too expensive and also they didn't want to butcher that many XJ220, and developing a whole new chassis would've been prohibitively expensive.

My first experience with this car was as a 1:18 scale die cast model made by the Maisto brand, back when I was a kid in the 90's. Then, in Gran Turismo. This car is more iconic than most give it credit, as it gave birth to Ford's New Edge design. The Puma, Cougar, Mustang, Mondeo, Ka, and other Ford cars from this time all owe their very characteristic look to this car.
I'm glad this car is still being kept, even as just a display piece. I read last person who owned it kept it in very poor shape, pretty much forgotten in storage. The car's mechanical components are all in pretty bad shape and it barely starts, if it even does. You can kind of see it's a bit rough.
Although unlikely, I hope someday, someone can take on the task of restoring this unique piece. Or at least see it in a modern video game. Although that is also unlikely due to licensing. But one can hope!

The design was wild! I loved the designs for concept cars that were coming out at the time. Brilliant. I do remember the publication bemoaned the fact that the tires weren't grippy and or useless due to the logo "GT90" being used as tread in the tires but it looked cool. Thanks for making this video! The Big wigs would bring friends a business partners to the GE after running the GT 90 at the Ford Proving Grounds which was right across the street on Oakwood and Rotunda. I got a close look one day when we went to pick up her paycheck. I also saw it at distance in 94-95. I went to Stout middle school which is right across Rotunda southeast of the test track. of course in has something like 12ft walls, but the track has a big hill and I could hear it and would see it crest the hill.
