  • What a day it was as the great Jay Leno, television icon, shows Cycledrag all around his amazing motorcycle collection in Jay Leno's Garage in Burbank, Calif. We ask Jay Leno about his recent motorcycle accident, how he's doing and how it happened and we see his many motorcycles including what is believed to be the largest collection of Brough Superior motorcycles, a 1920 Ace and he starts it up, vintage Indian motorcycles, a Munch Mammoth, bunch of vintage Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, his jet engine motorcycles, a collection of Vincent Black Shadows, the end of teh Chopper craze, his Orange County Chopper and how it failed, Jay Leno's all-time favorite motorcycle, his thoughts on electric motorcycles, whether he prefers restored or original, his sport bikes, included a Honda CB, a Honda CBX , BMWs, His Hayabusa and Kawasaki H2 and a whole bunch of motorcycle and Tonight Show memorabilia. We also sneak in a television question and ask Jay Leno what he thinks about the cable cord cutting and the movement to streaming and digital platforms like RUclips.

as a biker you could tell just by watching the show hat they were turds.....some beautiful turds but turds nonetheless.... they NEVER discussed performance when they were designing a bike...it was all about the image and nothing else.

@@TheFujac Orange County Choppers....I never watched that show, but did catch a bit of it when I had a girl-friend that liked it, and yeah...she had a 68 Triumph......Those guys were what we (out here in Calif) call 'bolt-on' bikers...buy a bunch of stuff from catalogs and assemble them. Like the Wrestling...just entertainment. They got almost all their frames built by Orangeburg Cycles...Father/son shop...South Carolina or some place around there.

ANYONE can go into a dealer and order, put a $ deposit on and buy a regular production model ! NO hassles! as long as they are still available , being made !
or they could buy one a dealer spec'd and ordered for the dealership inventory ! Or buy one used !
ONLY the limited production, and special models may require having owned some before ! same as Porsche et all !!!! 😇

Jay's been the man, and always will be.
Dude has literally the best collection of motor vehicles in existence (I don't know if the Sultan has bikes, sheet I think he might, disregard him currently!!!), literally everything anyone could or would have lusted after since the dawn of transportation up until today, and of course the best thing, everything gets miles out on them... absolutely despise people who collect cars or bikes and let them sit.... hell, I'm 42, my dream bike since I seen it on the showroom floor back in 96 was a black Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, took me until I was like 35 to finally find one good enough and at the right time, 96 built, all black, spotless, 7k miles, I was the second owner, I did a big bore kit, 1200cc forged pistons, forged rods, Yoshimura cams, Kehin FCR41 Flatside carbs, full titanium Technical Sports Racing 4.2.1 header with a 60.5mm collector to a full titanium, 60.5mm straight through, Ladybird Tri-oval silencer, Ladybird exhaust hanger, AS Uotani Full Power ignition, lots of A-Tech, Magical Racing, and Coerce carbon parts including a full carbon Coerce RS tail and A-Tech front fairings with their kevlar tank surround and gauge cluster, SuperSprox, EK3D, TSR rearsets, TSR triples, TSR clutch slave, TSR Brembo mounts and calipers, Nissin radial masters, Sunstar Premium discs, SWAGE braided lines for everything, Moriwaki and Babyface hardparts, Dominos, ECT..... thousands in Japanese goodies alone....then my neck got F'd up, couldn't wear a helmet due to migraines anymore, my baby sat for 2yrs covered in blankets in my living room as a cat perch.... finally couldn't look at her sit there collecting dust anymore and forced myself to put her up for sale, absolutely terrible, only good thing is probably saying I probably got double what the cleanest example would've brought here in the States, didn't make up for it though 😢

@CycleDrag I have to ask you Jack, if you could have one bike as a true collector bike what would it be? For me it would be a Honda NR750. From the oval pistons, 8 valves per cylinder, 8 connecting rods all in a streetbike was just a sample of what Honda could build if they wanted to.

The best about this is the interviewer knows all about most of the motorcycles in Jay's collection and is genuinely surprised when coming across something different or extremely rare or odd so that he and Jay have anexcellent exchange of info on the motorcycle. It is obvious there is much respect for what Jay has done with his collection. The sound came across as a little bit odd on my laptop speakers (but my laptop's speakers are a disappointment to begin with), but switching to headphones cleared that up.

I've ridden bikes all of my life, even in the snow......the bike I'd like to have in my "collection" is an MR-175 Honda lol. My first bike. I worked at the local gas station making 2.75 an hour for a year when I was 14.....saved virtually every cent and bought it. Very first day I was off to the woods. Looking back, I really don't know how I knew how to ride it, a two-stroker.......fast as heck. I didn't even know what a clutch was, yet, I found a way. I bet there are tons of similar stories! I didn't even get my car license until I was 26! I think somehow we are born with two wheels in our heads. Also, it never mattered to me what the "make" was.....if it had two wheels I was trying to ride it!

My late cousin's husband Stephen Wright worked at Solar Productions which was owned by Steve McQueen. Stephen Wright was considered to be one of the top motorcycle restorers in the world. Most people have no idea at the amount of work that goes into restoring a motorcycle that could at some point sell for a million dollars. I learned so much while visiting with Stephen and watching him work. He surprised my mom with a signed photo from Steve Mcqueen wishing her a Happy Birthday.

Mate, just one?!! I have a list as long as my arm lol!
As your question allows for the fact I already have a collection, ('82 TS125ER, '98 Virago 535 bobber, and '19 DL650XT), then we are obviously talking something very special, and in that case I'd already own a few of the other bikes from my list too, namely a '04 Montesa 315R, Suzuki DRZ400E and SM, Gixxer 750 SRAD, Ducati 916 and Monster 900, Triumph Bonnie 800, Yam T7 and TY80 and Honda ST1100 and CRF250L.
SOOOO...In THAT case, it'd have to be one of "King" Kenny Carter's race bikes from the 1980 season, which is when I first watched him ride for Halifax Dukes at the Shay stadium.
1980 was also the year I first rode a motorcycle (TY80) at age 6, I had to sit on the tank lol.
We can but dream eh ❤️‍🔥
