Darn, thought I’d be first but no! I have a 2022 e208 and it’s a great little car, perfect as our second car and as long as you don’t expect it to go more than 180 miles, comfortable, nippy and a pleasure to own (with cheap home charging). Of course, mines leased not bought as the list price is quite frankly ridiculous! Might buy a used one in a year or so though, a low mileage now is a bargain but I do wish Stellantis wouldn’t put up these fake list prices - you can easily get £5 to £8k off on-line.
@@sIightIyboredI lease mine , but you’re right I’d expect more off if I bought used. Probably looking for £15k a year to 18 months old which is 60% off new.
Is it shadow or is the driver's door a slightly different colour from the rest of the vehicle? I noticed that it has a rear wash wipe, why leave it off from the 3008. I didn't even look at that car because of the lack of a rear wash wipe and went the Skoda route
Stellantis (and former PSA) CEO went for high margins since he arrived. That meant reducing costs in new developments and reuse old platforms with outdated technology and outdated security, then add a premium look and feel in and out to the cars and price them accordingly to that premium look. And it worked so well for them that they don't seem willing to change their strategy. Let's see for how much longer they can get customers to pay so much for products that are made with the smallest investment on their part. For now I'm glad that at least some reviewers are telling things how they are. Good review, thanks.
They are fantasy prices - no one pays them. Go on-line and you’ll see discounts up to £10,000 for these and easily £5,000 for any spec. They aren’t making high margins on these, probably no profit at all. Stellantis do this across all their brands.
@@ISuperTed All brands have discounts. It doesn't change the fact I stated above. Just check the profits from PSA in the 8 years (2006-2013) prior to the arrival of Tavares as CEO and the 8 years after his arrival on 2014. How did he do it? To quote Wikipedia: "Tavares became CEO and chairman of the managing board of Groupe PSA in 2014, replacing Philippe Varin. During his tenure, he spearheaded cost-cutting measures and increased the company's market share in China, which returned Groupe PSA back to profitability after several years of losses. [...] As CEO, he gathered praise for the PSA take over of Opel and return to profitability of Opel, and for PSA's record sales and profits." And check Euroncap crash test results in these years for their products, or the infotainment systems they've had. But then compare how their products look and feel outside and inside. Premium clothes over cheap base, at above mainstream prices.
@@ISuperTed Yep I got a big discount, outrageously high trade in for an old Citroen, free extras like paint and wallbox and the French subsidy that you won't get on non Eu cars.
Another great video and I have to agree - they've messed up the pricing. However... Peugeot do seem to have noticed they've messed up the pricing, so they're offering 0% finance and £4k deposit contribution - coupled with dealers offering hefty discounts. The top spec GT can be had for £26k and no interest - making it £100s/month cheaper than an MG4/Renault/Corsa. No idea why they don't just acknowledge that and knock £10k off the advertised retail price - it would be so easy to recommend!
Exactly lol the whole car market is struggling bad except to see some absolute bargains in 2025 some car brands are going bankrupt and some are leaving the UK market. As you said 0% interest when the car is already £10k over what one should pay for a mini car like this is ridiculous. Sly moves but 2025 will put them all in place
Dealers of Stellantis brands of cars seem pretty good at offering discounts over list. In many ways it would make sense to start with a lower list price. I really like the E-208 in terms of styling and interior. I test drove the original model and it was great but I couldn't quite justify spending the money (I do very low mileage so older used cars make much more sense to me).
There are some great deals on pre registered models with delivery mileage at the minute. £20k for a 24 plate with 10 miles - all of a sudden it’s a much more appealing prospect
Range - I am getting 5 miles/8 km per kWh, range of 240miles, 384km. In Eco, French country roads. Very comfortable. Buying in France massive discounts.
Another excellent review and test, thank you! Just bought a Citroen eC4 ....but as a fully loaded low mileage demo. As an elder lemon myself I am on a Very steep learning curve, and have just ordered a paper copy of the owners manual as I still find that Essential as an ongoing reference. I'm living in France, just hired the e208 for a 2 day business trip. On the motorway, 80 % battery /270km range drops to 23% after 86km ! I think the range isn't good enough. It's very compatible in feel to non-electric cars for people unfamiliar with electric. I've hired the MG4 in the past which I think I'd prefer. The e208 is better made but the silver at the bottom the screen reflects into the driver's eyes in full sunlight(maybe not important in the UK 🤣) I've just spent 10minutes trying to find the regen braking! I agree with your summarisation, it's good but... It's a competitive sector and Peugeot for me doesn't say "luxury brand" ! Also, for people in the UK, pass the word around, Citroën is pronounced "Citro-Enn" ! If you say "citron" then that's just "lemon", which isn't far from the truth either...
So you are saying you use 57% of the battery to do 86km so your range is 150km. Are you driving on motorways above the speed limit in Sport? Either that or you are trolling.
@@davidperry7128 I live in France. Motorway is 130kmh. The car was on hire so it was the entry level model battery. The autonomy was less than acceptable in my opinion. Have come to this review a bit late but interested as our 2020 e-208 is now 3.5 years old. Been brilliant so far. Fun and fast enough and plenty of gadgets (GT model). Interested in the updated version. This review was excellent and comprehensive. Hugely disappointing that after this length of time Peugeot have hardly improved it all. Battery just a tiny bit bigger, no frunk, no underfloor storage etc. And charging WAY MORE ££ for it. You are the only reviewer who has picked up on the 2-3" dead travel at the top brake pedal, and even this has not been improved !!
The lease cost of the new version is way too high. But the "bargain basement" version has a stripped out spec and pretty limited range especialy in winter.☹

You have got one thing incorrect. The Heat Pump is not standard in any e version. Its a £400 extra. So not standard.
