The interview segments are so much better when the salesperson has a bit of charisma about them. She seemed to know her stuff and liked how upfront she was about the weight of the car & battery.
With the kind of questions Johnny asks during these interviews I always get the sense the person being interviewed wakes up a little xD . Especially during the Porche and Jaguar videos - the persons being interviewed get to nerd out a little about the technical details.
UK and Europe is getting more great electric vehicles than the United States. Why is that? This kind of vehicle appeals to me because I need at least 150 miles of range. 84 miles like the Fiat 500e doesn't work for me. When I go to town the round trip is at least 97 miles. It's good to have a little range head room and also NOT to have to charge while in town. This car has 217 miles of range. I like that.
I’ve had this car reserved since day one of the reservations being opened, car was ordered as soon as the orders opened up. I seriously cannot wait to get behind the wheel!
Buying a car before u drive it haha. The suspension and ride is crap as not designed as ev from ground up. its a disappointment, looks arnt everything.
You (Peugeot) just made me want to buy this normal beautiful new electric Peugeot e208. Unbelievable beautiful small car. Want one. Congrats Fully Charged Portugal
I absolutely love this and I love that it just looks like a car. As ever Johnny stands head and shoulders above other motoring journalists for quality and knowleadgale content
Jonny may be the best EV reviewer, so damn good! So now we have 2 new great choices, the 208 and Zoe rolling out for 2020. Both are desirable and will sell well
Top-notch car presentation, Jonny is the man when it comes to car presentation... the details, the artistic touch, it's just top-notch car journalism :D hands down
Sorry but I prefer to see not only design bla-bla.. Even if is nice, but more practical information about real driving in high speeds or try to bring the drive to the limit and of course efficiency and acceleration feelings or smooth.. None of them Jonny :( I hope next time you can!
@@pilotko5899 Peugeot E-209 isn't a track car, most people won't buy it to go "high speed" and "try to bring the drive to the limit". It's not what this car is about. It's good bang for the buck, useful, practical, everyday driving machine.
@@elektrotehnik94 by high speed I thought highway.. And the limits, yes, I think review has to show something more than just talking about design.. This we can see from pictures. And of course, people who want to buy this car, are very interested by real daily consumption.. On highways/city/campaign.. So let say, thanks Jonny for bla bla, it's nice, but we want more info about consumption, charging speed test and even try to touch the limits..
@@pilotko5899What would he say about driving on the highway? He already described front/rear suspension, what else is there to talk about? Acceleration was stated. It's not like this car would be swept away on the highway like an actual leaf in the wind! :D He didn't have this car for a week to get actual consumption data. Charging speed is 100 kW, he could plug it in and time it. He could make a graph of the charging curve, but people don't talk about such details in car reviews for a reason. Like torque curves for piston cars, most people don't want to look at graphs during the review of the car, cause 100 kW charging and official charging time 0-80% is enough for most people.
@@elektrotehnik94 I am sorry, but I think in case of EV, the consumption and charging times /tests are the most important to share. And for this you don't need to have a car for one week. OK, he spoke about suspension and I liked it. This is my two cents about this car: Whenever a designer is a car enthusiast it shows. The lines that look as it s miving even sitting still, the stance and the non rediculasation of the vehicle as when a vehicle is designed as an object as a white good or something than there is no soul no emotion is stirred when one looks at the car. That front light with the claw stripe.. man. I'm impressed.
This car would fail miserable in US next to model 3 - which in US costs $39k without incentives. This e208 GT costs $34k with incentives in EU! HA haha So basically same model 3 price for a car that is B segment vs model 3 that is premium C segment lmao!!!
Whenever you guys upload, it always brings me joy. Even though I'm too young to drive, it's nice to get a glimpse into a future without petrol. Thanks for the great videos! :D
Great review. I really appreciate the breakdown of the trim spec. This car appears to meet my want for an EV that can do sport and civilised. I don’t usually care for looks, but I adore this. A yellow one, please.
My first new car was a leased 206 GLX HDi - back when number plates were done in letters (shocking!) it was an X reg. So I’ve got some fond memories of the modern Pug. If I wasn’t getting a Tesla M3 in March, this video would have me seriously considering the e208.
I almost quit about 2/3 thru the video as I'm U.S. & we'll never get this car, but as usual Jonny enticed me to linger and catch the finale... terrific vid, as usual and we're looking forward to Austin & your U.S. debut....cheers😀
I'll be buying an E-Golf soon but as a proud French, I am considering this as replacement for the Golf. This car looks absolutely stunning and I'm 100% in love!
With the insane rebates VW gives on the E-Golf now, you are making a smart choice. In a couple of years you could basically switch cars for little investment.
I’ve ordered one so I think it’s great. Can’t wait until February so I hope I am not disappointed but it’s reassuring that you think it should be good.
2nd3rd1st I will get a test drive in late dec early Jan according to my dealer. At the end of the day if it’s crap which I doubt I will get my deposit back.
The e208 and the Tycan are the two EVs that are so far meeting my expectations for the vision, functionality and performance of an EV: a proper car with a capable electric drive train. Good job, Peugeot.
Your shows is getting better and better every episode I watch. EV-related tech reviews, fully on-demand, high-quality camera work and editing, superb hosts and nice “tone”... Please consider including some more details on things like audio/entertainment quality, efficiency/consumption and charging capabilities (when does it start tapering, can it handle repeated fast charging without rapidgating), how does tech like lane assist and adaptive cruise work and perform, etc etc. But having that said: I’m such a big fan, absolutely keep up the good work!
This is the start of the the electric car just being a car. I like the wacky 'look at me' electric but I also like this idea. Love the design inside and out.
Thank you Johnny for being so awesome and doing this so well. Just picked up a E-Golf seeing also your review, and I know you have one too, hope I'm gonna like this EV world here in Italy, someone has to start this change..!
The rear hatch is a bit overdone, but I do rather like the side view: clean classical lines with modern elements. IMHO Peugeot have always done well on the design of their 2 series.
Me too, but what in case of small crashe? Lion's eyes will cost expensive ;( But inside is too complicated to me and is playing role to be too modern.. But as we all know, Peugeot interior stay nice 3 months only ;(
I can only echo other comments. Johnny is by far the best motoring journalist out there. You really get a feeling of what it would be like to own any car he reviews. I placed a pre-order on an ID3 within 10 minutes of it going on sale but once I saw the interior of the ID3 I cancelled my order. This car is what the ID3 should have been. If it weren't for the fact I've since bought an M3 SR+ I'd go for the e208.
I really love the looks of this car. I can see the 205 in it and the Wow-factor of the 206. The blue color really hits the mark in this video. Sadly, no use case for me right now and the pricing, though close to affordable, is not there yet. Can't wait to see one on the streets!
I think it is way overpriced, not only in EV form, if you take a version that actually looks like something (the base 208 does have an ugly black plastic in plance of the big LEDs in the front for exemple)
@@DG-uv3zw I don't know where you are from but in France for 15k€ you get the base model Also for 30k i'd rather buy something like a Polo GTI (we don't have an annual tax in France like they do in the UK)
@@DG-uv3zw Well the EV is indeed in the 30k€ range and I find this very expensive because at the end of the day it is still a Peugeot 208 and its performances are not exceptional. Ok electricity is cheaper than petrol but I wonder how much you would have to drive for the EV version to be worth it
So cool that you covered the different trim-levels comprehensively. In general the info-graphics are also always very helpful and clean. You guys are doing a really good job!
It's the best looking Peugeot at the moment by far, can't wait for the 308 to come out, as I have a brand new one now. Keep the great quality videos coming from you guy's.
The quality of this review and video is absolutely outstanding.. please congratulate all involved on a fantastic job well done. I want a car that's subtly saying EV, I'm torn on this.. I want the exterior of the Peugeot with the interior of the Zoe that would be a truly remarkable car... I'm still in saving for Model 3 territory, but competition is heating up.
Beautiful car. Does not have to be an 'overstyled' vehicle' because it's electric. All cars are bound to end up electric. Pricetag is still a real problem. As always, review is terrific.
With each passing video the quality, style and production values shoot up. Robert & Jonny do a great job capturing the spirit (and unlike many reviewers, real in-depth detail) of the cars and the team behind the scenes are producing an immense product - this video might be the most beautifully done effort yet.
Wait a minute, 2:16 weight of the Peugeot e-208 GT vs Zoe Iconic. Are you sure these cars weigh in at respectively 1918kg and the latter 1988kg? This seems off by a factor of 500kg versus the manufacturer specifications.
I agree, this can't remotely be correct. She said the e-208 weighed 310kg more than the standard car - there's no way that weighs 1600+kg when the previous model weighed 1295kg at the most.
I suspect they've quoted the Gross Vehicle Weight, which is the maximum its allowed to carry including passengers etc. GVW is certainly in the 1900kgs range on my LEAF. Kerb weight on the new Zoe is circa 1500kgs.
I drive an i3 So I stand out and this is in a similar vein The restricted rear access bothers me having been used to the cabin space and ease of access in the BMW This looks great and fresh
Another great FC episode. Fantastic production value, Jonny on point as always and lots of information transfer! This is not just good for FC or RUclips, it's really good period!
I can’t help but feel when I buy my first electric car, that it needs to only be designed for an EV powertrain. In other words, it has been designed without the inevitable compromises that would have to be made to also support a traditional ICE power plant. Let’s face it, Peugeot are probably doing this so that they can more gradually (cautiously?) wind down their Petrol/diesel stocks before fully committing to EV. A platform supporting petrol/diesel/EV doesn’t really help the consumer, but it does help the manufacturer during this transition period.
@@Rebasepoiss it's only lower cost compared to another dealer making diesel and electric on two different lines. It is not cheaper than being 100% electric production
Exciting times. I'm happy to see EVs being normalized so I like the ones that look (mostly) like regular cars. Although the interior is definitely too busy for my taste.
You're doing a great job, people looking for proper EV reviews should come here and get away from tech reviewers who focus too much on the size and brightness of the dashboard
as a trainer in EV mobility, I must say; Peugeot is doing a great job with the e208. personally, I'd enjoy a slightly simpler interior but the specs are pretty great. Design is as you say, in the eye of the cupholder, not entirely my cup of tea :-) but can't wait to drive it anyway.thx a lot for all the precious insights and great reportages.
The e-208 is more than good enough for me for in and around city driving, and the range is almost half of Portugal's north to south distance, so not too bad either.
I’ve been keeping an eye out for this review. It looks really good. £30k feels a bit steep though. Could be a great 1st step into the EV world... but so could the VW ID3... we shall see.
Saw this video, test drove one, ordered a yellow one yesterday. It’ll be my first EV, I’ve been interested since the i3 first came out but I wanted something fairly conventional that had reasonable range. I tested a Tesla Model 3 Performance which was stunning but for that money I can run an e208 as an everyday commuter and have a fun weekend toy as well. Thanks to all of you at the channel, your help and informative information has been most helpful.
this is a good way to offer an EV side by side no visible difference, you can make a choice on the model that fits your needs, and the car is not standing from the crowd saying look at me I am an EV driver.
Really? The thing I hate most about the eCorsa is those huge, ugly, black plastic mounts for the tiny square foglights. Why didn't they just design the front to take the square ones in the first place?
Drove the GT yesterday, I have tried the Zoe40, MG ZS and the Nissan Leaf. Until yesterday the Leaf was the car for me, however I am now spoilt with the looks and the drive of the GT. the video just helps confirm the choice thanks Fully Charged for a great video as usual
Magnifique! That is beautiful. I see no need for an EV to be mutated into some kind of Prius-esque monstrosity. Bring that 208 to the U.S. tout de suite!!!!
Love it Johnny. If I had 30k spare I'd definitely be buying one. It looks like a very smart electric car. Enjoyed all of that vid. Keep up the good work FCS
I like the look of the Peugeot over the other EVs like the leaf and zoe. I'm looking at getting my next car and toying with getting one of these. I just want to test drive it before I commit.
The liquid cooled battery pack is a great plus for long battery life and fast charging capability. I seem to remember that the Leaf does not have liquid battery cooling. It's basically the old driveline in a major facelift body.
@@jfv65 I think Björn has tested the Leaf several times and while it no longer rapidgates like it did in the past, I wouldn't trust the battery to not suffer major degradation because of the cooling system.
@@Perkelenaattori Newer chemistry in batteries almost make it redundant to have liquid cooling. Only for performance vehicles like Tesla etc... I think new Leaf is just fine without liquid cooling. Maybe more important thing is heating of batteries if you live somewhere where in winter is more then -20c!
As always....a cracking review from Team Fully Charged. Great visuals, great soundtrack and the great Jonny Smith! Nice looking car, with a decent spec for a decent amount of money. I’m still hoping for all that to come in at sub £20k but we are certainly creeping in that direction. Top job guys, no point going anywhere else for EV reviews
I ordered one and can’t wait to get it. Pearl white with a black roof. It will be my first Peugeot. I never liked the brand that much but this machine lured me in..... I think it’s awesome 😍
"Regular use" EVs should look like a petrol or diesel alternative. They have to for cost/production reasons. For sports cars or special vehicles, then they should look special.
No, they shouldn`t! Because of efficiency and different requirements for ev. Thats why almost every EV besides Tesla(and ioniq) are so inefficient that its crazy! This approach is good for manufacturers to earn even more without doing too much work! Thats why id3 has so many advantages over Golf etc... but we should see final product!
I own a 2019 Zoe and find the new Renault package tempting. However, having seen this video I’m now tempted to include the Peugeot e208 as an option when it comes to renew. Good looking car and I think would fit my lifestyle well. I’ve driven Peugeot ICE hire cars in the past and always found them a nice drive. Excellent and honest video as ever, thank you for your consistently fresh and frank productions,
I’m really liking Peugeots design language - saw a 508 and it looked fabulous. Think they are getting their mojo back when it comes to styling. Love the way too it’s a normal car too, as is the Corsa. I hate VAG’s design language and this is quite the antodite. Superb car. Great video and review - no typical roadtest crap.
I have been waiting for the Test Drive since seeing it at Fully Charged Live. I could go with the Zoe, but I'd be thinking about the e208. Just need the Corsa Test drive now

My napkin math shows that this will cost around $58k here for the top line. HOWEVER Peugeot Aus has no plans to release this here... They seem content with a do nothing approach which explains their decline in sales. They really could corner the market as the only competition is the leaf here at this stage, which has a smaller range and uncooled battery pack for the same price! We do certainly need EV rebates here. Tax new ICE car sales 1% pollution tax and put that into an EV sink fund of say $5k per EV sold. I still wish makers would be more bold in releasing them here though , we are getting left behind.

With the kind of questions Johnny asks during these interviews I always get the sense the person being interviewed wakes up a little xD . Especially during the Porche and Jaguar videos - the persons being interviewed get to nerd out a little about the technical details.
Yes, she is pretty sympathic.. And know about.
I think it's called flirting. I forget. I'm married.
I thought she was TRES CHAUD!
Yes, great interview
UK and Europe is getting more great electric vehicles than the United States. Why is that? This kind of vehicle appeals to me because I need at least 150 miles of range. 84 miles like the Fiat 500e doesn't work for me. When I go to town the round trip is at least 97 miles. It's good to have a little range head room and also NOT to have to charge while in town. This car has 217 miles of range. I like that.
Best thing - the number of choices for an EV increases to the point that you can make decisions based on aesthetics.
I agree. I despise the leaf, so it's nice to see things that look nice that compete too
I’ve had this car reserved since day one of the reservations being opened, car was ordered as soon as the orders opened up. I seriously cannot wait to get behind the wheel!
I had a 207 and couldn't have been happier. I think the 208 is going to awesome.

Jonny may be the best EV reviewer, so damn good! So now we have 2 new great choices, the 208 and Zoe rolling out for 2020. Both are desirable and will sell well
I like the looks of the 208 but I like the range of the Zoe :/
Stunning footage and editing. It sold me the car.
Peugeot has hit the nail on the head with this one. Great looking and refined hatch that does not scream EV. Well done.
He didn't have this car for a week to get actual consumption data.
I wanted /prefer to have more global view, drive enjoyment, practical use, than 80% of blablaing about external design, which we can easily see from car pictures.
This car is a work of art! The details such as the peugeot engraved in the black bezel of the tail lights woow small things that make every part on the car like the aluminium switches and the stitching and carbon on the dash to the beautiful design of the gear lever!! Can t wait to drive one at night with the ambient lighting on I m a petrol head and a car guy but this gets me excited to drive an ev!! Lool only one thing would have made it sweeter 200bhp maybe rear wheel driven actually cut the maybe and make it definitley hehe peugeot pls it s december be like santa take note of this request
That front light with the claw stripe.. man. I'm impressed.
I so agree with you
I’m worried about back space and the small door
A car like this could bring Peugeot back to the US.
Fred Garvin Peugeot are already back in the U.S, you can find details of their model release plans online.
@Fred Garvin So you'll be able to get that French touch on the other side of the Atlantic ; )
You don't want it... trust me ;)
This car would fail miserable in US next to model 3 - which in US costs $39k without incentives. This e208 GT costs $34k with incentives in EU! HA haha So basically same model 3 price for a car that is B segment vs model 3 that is premium C segment lmao!!!

Peugeot really have raised their design game. Love the interiors of their new cars.
Great review. I really appreciate the breakdown of the trim spec. This car appears to meet my want for an EV that can do sport and civilised. I don’t usually care for looks, but I adore this. A yellow one, please.
From what I've read in Peugeot's brochure for it, yellow is the "free" colour!
My first new car was a leased 206 GLX HDi - back when number plates were done in letters (shocking!) it was an X reg. So I’ve got some fond memories of the modern Pug. If I wasn’t getting a Tesla M3 in March, this video would have me seriously considering the e208.
Peugeot's design is on-point, the e-208 and e-2008 look stunning!
I almost quit about 2/3 thru the video as I'm U.S. & we'll never get this car, but as usual Jonny enticed me to linger and catch the finale... terrific vid, as usual and we're looking forward to Austin & your U.S. debut....cheers😀
I'm all for the subtle EV.
@@BugMagnet just tried the golf for 20 minutes and I'm definitely sold.

Please consider including some more details on things like audio/entertainment quality, efficiency/consumption and charging capabilities (when does it start tapering, can it handle repeated fast charging without rapidgating), how does tech like lane assist and adaptive cruise work and perform, etc etc. But having that said:
I’m such a big fan, absolutely keep up the good work!
This is the start of the the electric car just being a car. I like the wacky 'look at me' electric but I also like this idea. Love the design inside and out.

Now we're talking Johnny!! Lovely review and fantastic to see a new EV within the reach of consumers at a price that's 'pitch-ure-perfect'.
I really really like the look of this car.
But as we all know, Peugeot interior stay nice 3 months only ;(
got my e208 in March 2020. allure in red brilliant car to drive very happy with my Peugeot
Definitely one of the cars I'm looking at
I can only echo other comments.
@@lucwal67 Petrol version of this car is worh at most 15k.(with good trim!) So this price(30k+ without incentives) is ridiculous!
@@DG-uv3zw I don't know where you are from but in France for 15k€ you get the base model

@@lucwal67 I was referring to EV version. But thanks for confirming the 15k(eur or 13k pounds!?) price for ICE ver. :)
@@DG-uv3zw Well the EV is indeed in the 30k€ range and I find this very expensive because at the end of the day it is still a Peugeot 208 and its performances are not exceptional. Ok electricity is cheaper than petrol but I wonder how much you would have to drive for the EV version to be worth it
This is the correct way to review a car. Thank-you, Jonny, and all of the team.
The Peugeot e208 DOES NOT weight 1918 kg. It actually weight 1530 kg
So cool that you covered the different trim-levels comprehensively. In general the info-graphics are also always very helpful and clean. You guys are doing a really good job!

I'm all for EVs that just look like cars. :)
Looks like a proper evolution of the 205, great to see the pugs getting back to what they do best.
I have a 1990 205 GTi. I would love my first EV to be an e208 GT.
Beautiful car. Does not have to be an 'overstyled' vehicle' because it's electric. All cars are bound to end up electric. Pricetag is still a real problem. As always, review is terrific.
@Comeonuseyourbrain you're right but it also depends on the taxes in the country you live in
With each passing video the quality, style and production values shoot up.
One of the most full reviews that I have seen!!!! Well well done!!! 👏👏

So I stand out and this is in a similar vein
The restricted rear access bothers me having been used to the cabin space and ease of access in the BMW

If this means lower prices then it IS beneficial to the consumers as well.
@@Rebasepoiss it's only lower cost compared to another dealer making diesel and electric on two different lines. It is not cheaper than being 100% electric production
Bloody good review. Love the idea that all 208s look the same, just the drivetrain is different.
Exciting times. I'm happy to see EVs being normalized so I like the ones that look (mostly) like regular cars. Although the interior is definitely too busy for my taste.
I hate Peugeot. From experience. But by the stars I adore that cockpit. Closest to KITT I'll ever drive.
You're doing a great job, people looking for proper EV reviews should come here and get away from tech reviewers who focus too much on the size and brightness of the dashboard
Are those tail pipes in the first 20 seconds of footage? Yes, they are.
It has a different register plate than the one Jonny drives. I'm guessing it's stock footage from Peugot.
as a trainer in EV mobility, I must say; Peugeot is doing a great job with the e208. personally, I'd enjoy a slightly simpler interior but the specs are pretty great.
Mine arrives in a month!!! Woop! I can’t wait! My first EV and I ordered it instantly after watching your video on it.
Thanks!!!
Oh also, I ordered the GT in faro yellow!
What a fantastic episode!! RUclips without Fullycharged is not worth watching. Thank you Johnny!
Personally I like the eCorsa design more but the Zoe interior is my favourite inside. It's a tough choice which really is a good thing.
That is indeed the thing you can make a choice now! If you have some more money to spend it only makes it much, much harder to buy an ev nowadays.
Really? The thing I hate most about the eCorsa is those huge, ugly, black plastic mounts for the tiny square foglights. Why didn't they just design the front to take the square ones in the first place?

Rest assured the driving characteristics will be great as that's what the French do very well. Enjoy.
Converting the price means that it should reach us at about $48k for the base model. But we'll get rorted, that's absolutely certain.
