      To be fair how much of that is down to the review style vs the type of car. Fully charged is mwah & seems down to a tee at the moment. I click on their videos more too see something great from Jonny or Robert rather than the car featured these days.

      I think you raise a good point that the people in love with loud, fast, ICE cars don't get. The general public glances at those other cars but never plan to buy them unless they win the lottery (note: people who love the ICE cars scrap together the money even when they are not well off), but the average person always ask how much is this going to cost me. BEV can win because of the long term savings, but the drive to look at the expensive ICE cars is not there.

    Now this is how EV reviews should be done. I feel like I really understand what this car has to offer and what it would be like to own and drive. Excellent stuff. Nice car too. Hadn't considered the e208 before, but now, it might be the one to replace my Leaf..

      Nice presentation, not enough info(like efficiency, infotainment system etc...) Regarding the car - it has astronomical price for a B segment car!(considerably smaller then Golf) Seriously 35k pounds without incentives !!! My God! Sorry, but these kind of vehicles will hurt EV development in the world. How on earth could I recommend someone a budget B segment car for 35k!? Range is solid, performance is solid but not enough gadgets like auto pilot, sunroof etc... MG ZS EV is a miles better alternative. And if someone says that MG is bad quality- this is a French car!? They have the worse electronic of all the EU manufactures(even worse then recent Italian cars!)

      @@DG-uv3zw Firstly it's a TEST DRIVE video not a review, as the title states. If you really need to know more about it's efficiency figures other than the range which is what EVERYONE wants to know, i suggest watching a full in depth review or just looking them up. 2nd it's by no means a "budget B segment car" it's widely regarded as a very "classy upmarket car" that looks great outside and in and has very good electric performance for it's price. I get the feeling you dont have a very good view on Peugeots in general. I would strongly suggest visiting a dealer and having a look in some of the newer cars. The 508 for example in the higher specs is nicer than my friends new Jag. I had the last 208 gti and it was nicer and MORE RELIABLE than the Diesel GOLF GT I traded in for it. I'd like to know what other EV's are available to order at the moment, for the same money as this, that you would consider much better cars for someone wanting a classy small electric car?

    The BIG thing, really the killer feature, with this is the liquid cooled battery and 100kw charging. That makes it possible to do proper road trips and use it as a primary car.
    No one in this price range is close to that.
    The Zoe, Leaf etc only offer slow charging around 50kw which makes them a PITA on road trips and only useful as second/city cars.

    • @WonkoTheSaneUK
      @WonkoTheSaneUK 5 лет назад +16

    • @nordic5490

      tali sson the small 50kwhr battery means shorter battery life. Owners will jave some range anxiety and will tend to charge wherever possible. Li-ion batteries wear faster (oxidise faster) when at higher states of charge. This is why Tesla batteries last so long, Teslas may only be typically charged twice per week.

      my ten pence worth..... I've got an eGolf - traded in a bigger car and city car to go down to one car. We don't do long journeys, so I get it that it doesn't work for everyone. But longer journey's (e.g. south coast to London), we get the train. or longer still, train or maybe even a hire car. I guess what I'm trying to say is, we make it work, but the world - and climate- is changing. I'm not preaching, we love the car, and I get it it doesn't work for everyone. I think to directly compare - and expect - an EV to do everything an ICE does in exactly the same manner. Maybe it's comparing apples and bananas...both fruit, but different. And I guess that we maybe should realise to change things, we've got to do things a bit different anyway (sorry, I've maybe stepped over into 'preaching mode'...) but you get what I'm saying.
      Best wishes.

    UK and Europe is getting more great electric vehicles than the United States. Why is that? This kind of vehicle appeals to me because I need at least 150 miles of range. 84 miles like the Fiat 500e doesn't work for me. When I go to town the round trip is at least 97 miles. It's good to have a little range head room and also NOT to have to charge while in town. This car has 217 miles of range. I like that.

    This is my two cents about this car: Whenever a designer is a car enthusiast it shows. The lines that look as it s miving even sitting still, the stance and the non rediculasation of the vehicle as when a vehicle is designed as an object as a white good or something than there is no soul no emotion is stirred when one looks at the car. This car is a work of art! The details such as the peugeot engraved in the black bezel of the tail lights woow small things that make every part on the car like the aluminium switches and the stitching and carbon on the dash to the beautiful design of the gear lever!! Can t wait to drive one at night with the ambient lighting on I m a petrol head and a car guy but this gets me excited to drive an ev!! I can’t help but feel when I buy my first electric car, that it needs to only be designed for an EV powertrain. In other words, it has been designed without the inevitable compromises that would have to be made to also support a traditional ICE power plant.
    Let’s face it, Peugeot are probably doing this so that they can more gradually (cautiously?) wind down their Petrol/diesel stocks before fully committing to EV. A platform supporting petrol/diesel/EV doesn’t really help the consumer, but it does help the manufacturer during this transition period.
