1.) have a male budgie
2.) tame him
3.) Pick a phrase or word
4.) repeat at least 40 times per day
5.) stay consistent You should see results in about two months

P.s that's exactly how I tought my birds to talk. It works! My grandmother's budgie said 50 some sentences. He was amazing and sounded like her when he talked

Great job Jah! Great advice. We were so excited when Gaba started talking. I remember sending you a message and you being so excited as well. I remember how excited you were when we sent you the video of Gaba talking. I miss his sweet voice everyday! You have done a great job with Cashew! Watch how quickly he picks up all different phrases now. Gaba was a year old and could say over 20 different phrases and or/ words and sing songs with words. And since he was one of your babies, how you tame your birds has everything to do with it. You are the best!

Good video, thanks. I got BB from a breeder and never really tried very hard to get him to talk, but talk and talk he does. I think it also helps if they feel very safe and comfortable around people.
I got three birds yesterday and I don’t know how to get their confidence
He just flew out of his cage and that’s how I finger trained him I was 10
@Muhsina Mohamedihsanullah I've been doing that for the past three days now meh bird Buddy (aka Skyler) is kinda getting more comfortable around meh.

Let them get comfortable with your daily routine and let them come to you feed and water every day talk to them and comfort them and leave the door open during the day so when they want to come out they are able to get comfortable with you and let them chill then start trainin them to sit on you finger and go from there😁hope this helps!
i have budgies and they allways bite me some tricks are to take them into a enclosed room and then clip their wings carefully watch a video that explains how and then show them that u are the bigger peron and also not a treat

My fave is the hi hungry I’m : 😂 bc that’s a dad joke and I think anyone who hears a bird saying that would laugh 💕 gl!

I have been working myself up to adopt a bird, first though I am looking around, reading and figuring it out...
I have a 3 bedroom, my youngest son is getting ready to go off to school again so I will have lots of time for a new member of family.
I am looking at birds without homes and going to go that route first.

Yes, the males have blue noses. The females at first is hard to tell, but then they develop tan noses. They then transition to brown when they are mature and of breeding age.

Yes you can, I started to teach mine two weeks after they were home, because they settled in in just two days so I was able to start to tame right away.

Ok I have a question. My gma used to take care of a budgie and he talks. We recently got him about 2 weeks ago and I want to teach him to talk. Will he only say what my grandma taught him? Or could I teach him words, too. I’ve heard that once a budgie learns words from a bond that’s the only person that they’ll learn from. Idk if that’s true tho

How many phrases do you recommend teaching in each day? Is it best to concentrate only on one at a time for X number of days or weeks until it's mastered that, before working on another?
How would you go about training if you had 2 young budgies but only one cage? In fact is it possible when there are 2? I suppose if you wanted to increase likelihood of each bird saying different things you'd have to remove one some distance from the cage & talk to it one on one wouldn't you? Thanks.
