I've had parakeets for 23 years. One day about 10 years ago I walked past my son's bedroom where we had three parakeets. As I was walking by with a load of laundry I heard strange conversation coming from an empty bedroom other than the budgies! As I peeked around I saw our budgies that we've had for 3 years talking to each other in the English language! If you love them enough and pay attention to them enough they will start to speak and it is so amazing! Thank you!
Hi there.. I had a question so recently I bought a parakeet from a PetSmart but I realized I wouldn't be able to care for it properly as I am getting busy with work and would hardly be home. I was wondering if I can surrender it to a Petco that's near by? The PetSmart I bought the bird from is 10 hours away and I don't have the time to make that trip but there is a Petco 2 hours away... Would I be able to surrender it there? I'm hysterical right now and overwhelmed because I feel ashamed I'm giving it back but I do need advice immediately

One of my budgie’s name is Pixel and he doesn’t know how to talk he knows how to sing to Lime.
One day, Kiwi is going to mix up his phrases ('Hi, my name is Kiwi! I'm a parakeet!' and 'Get me some barbecued chicken!') and he's going to end up saying _'Hi, my name is Kiwi! I'm a barbecued chicken!'_ and I hope you record that, just for the lols~ 😂😂😂

I would spend hours playing and talking to these little guys lol. They're so cute.
There are many components to training a parrot. One plan I discovered that successfully combines these is the Parrot Ploy Plan (check it out on google) it's the most useful blueprint that I have ever heard of.look at all the incredible info .

I love how Kiwi literally is paying attention, but can't hold his concentration because of the exuberance shown by Pixel. Throwback to the first video and subsequent videos of Kiwi activating Siri and actually placing his ear close to the voice of Siri.

@@oreocakester4307 my birds wings are clipped and it can just flap really fast and float to the ground but my one bird flies into literally everything
@@oreocakester4307 A bird with clipped wings can still fly pretty well. Also wing clipping can cause muscle tension which can have long term effects
@Jaime French The reason why they freaked out is because they were never tamed properly
My birds also used to do that, just leave the cage door open all the time and try to get them out sometimes. If they calm down and get used to their environment they will stop. Also, if they are from a big pet store they were probably two months or so when you got them and might not know how to fly in a bigger space then the cage.
You can actually see them trying to vocalize. It's amazing. How are they doing now?

They certainly like the phone sound. :D What I like most is how active and happy they are. It is always wonderful to see birds and animals of all types receiving the love and care they need.

Adorable budgies. Both so friendly and playful and they have great little talking voices.
I had a bird training record. I’d put it on and let my birds listen -it worked! Repetition is the key, combined with love of course.

I love how patient you are with them and love them. I wish I’d known all this when I had my bird many years ago. He was 13 when he died and only said cheeky bugger and beauty bird. Beauty was his name. I could have done so much more than if I’d known how 🤭he passed before internet came 😖
I got 2 6 month parakeets yesterday. Youre videos have taught me so much about training and how to keep them happy/ be comfortable with me. I just wanna say thanks and keep making videos.
I love watching videos of these little guys, especially when you can see the gears turning in their heads.
You must spend lots of time with your little birds and it shines through in how bright and happy they are. It's quite an accomplishment how you helped Pixel blend right in and that he is talking so clearly at such s young age. How old is Pixel now and how old are parakeets when they are full grown? You are an excellent parakeet dad.
+pce1148 Pixel is about 7 months old. They look like adults by roughly this age. Kiwi is 3 and a half.

I love how they listen to you! They can be running around and making all sorts of sounds but as soon as you start talking they stop and listen. They are so cute and smart!

They remind me of my budgies. I had 2 exactly like this about 20 years ago called Jeremy and Blinky. They were so much fun. I'm thinking of getting some more, I miss having birds in my home

Thank you for sharing! My bird is learning to say “pretty bird” right now. It’s a little hard to understand him because most of the times he sings when it’s very noisy or he’s next to the sink when the water in falling :’D

I found a composition in my daughters folder and she said that she wished for a parakeet. So we bought her one for her 10th birthday and she named him Chester. Within 2 weeks he ways saying his name and soon after was saying full sentences. That was many years ago. Now that we are retired I wanted a little companion and a few weeks ago we bought Skyler. He isn’t speaking yet but I’m so encouraged to keep trying.

I tried to teach my parakeet to talk. I didn’t have any luck. For starters, I used to repeat her name over and over, and say I love you over and over. Nothing. I gave up eventually.

Males are just generally better talkers because even in the wild they are more vocal.
