I've been in the avian field now for the better part of 35yrs. Having worked "hands on" with everything from Warblers to Birds of Prey and Budgies to Macaws. I also have owned countless species of parrots as well. My IRN or Indian Ringneck was the best talker i've ever had. They are right up there with African Grey's and Amazons. However, this budgie is absolutely AMAZING in terms of it's clarity. I know they are able too say up to about 200 words. But i never thought there clarity was this good. Awesome video and great job training your "fid". That's us parrot parent lingo for when we address them as our kids.
If you have so much experience with parrots, you’d know right away this is fake and that budgerigars cannot pronounce even close to that clearly!
I’ve bred parrots, including budgerigars for over 30 years, budgerigars cannot clearly pronounce words, their talking sounds more like a whistle, very unclear and barely intelligible!
You should know this hands down!

@@ZYGTropicals not true, I had one years back that I bred and then reared alone called Bobby and whilst he didn't know as many words as Disco he could say pretty boy Bobby and who's a pretty boy just as clear as Disco could so no doubt he could be trained just as well if the effort was put in to teach him more words.

I had a yellow parakeet that talked. I didn't train him, I used to leave the radio on for him when I went out, same station. Came home one day and he said "WPLJ 95.5". I started cracking up, then I started saying things over and over and he picked up real fast. I also had the parakeet when he was very young, that may have something to do with it.
I saw 2 parrots outside of a shop in Thailand swearing their heads off and insulting everyone that walked past in the local isaan dialect, which was hilarious.
I've had multiple budgies that talked very well. One used to say "F*ck off* every time somebody entered the house 😂

Birds are very intelligent creatures.
We sadly just lost our budgie to a cyst that bled out. He was just over 2 years old and knew at least 60 words. It depends on the bird and the time the humans of the flock spend with it. This was an amazing bird. He spoke very clear and precise, what drove me crazy was that it was so hard to get him talking on camera.didn’t matter if it was a camera, a cell phone or an iPad, it only took him seconds to clam right up and be speechless. Didn’t matter if we were only a few feet from him or across the room trying to record him. Caught him a couple of times but only a few words and sayings.

Budgies are my favorite little friends. I remember Skye, my blue budgie who lived to be 14. He knew when I was sad. He'd sidle up close to me and say, "Don't be scared." He also picked up a swearword I yelled when I stubbed my toe. It was hard not to laugh!
They are INCREDIBLE little jewels aren't they. So sorry for your loss. I have 2 parrots of my own a Senegal and Black Capped Conure. And while they can't talk i love them just the same. But i REALLY miss my IRN or Indian Ringneck Keiko. Man could he TALK and with such clarity. Just as clear as an African Grey or Amazon.
I also had a light blue buggie named Blue Sky, that I had for 10 years. He sadly past away last October.

I've owned a couple of parakeets before and trained them to talk. But Disco's articulation of words and his vast array of memorized phrases is remarkable! Love the video.
I've had a few budgies in my life and never got them to say more than a handful of words or sounds. This is unbelievable coming out of a budgie!

I had parakeets (budgies) for many years. They were all so sweet and talked very well. I truly miss them, and I'm sorry that Disco passed as well (2017). He was adorable!
This budgie is one of a few that does have intelligence to learn & talk quite clearly. Although there are other types of birds that can learn to talk crows , parrots , parrakeets & McCaws for instance. & obvious the very intelligent Mynar bird. But, as for budgies you usually do get squeeks & squarks from them. But if the bird shows interest it will learn. But, like many other types of animals not just birds. They can be unresponsive ( stubborn!!!!). 🙄🤔 But, Disco here is intellegent & is willing to learn. This makes him not only adorable but, entertaining to watch & listen to & clever. 👍👏👏👏😉
