Great work. And I personally sincerely appreciate your whiteboard work! For me the challenging part is always how to run the wires cleanly through the trim front to back or from the edge trim to the Midland, for instance. Just leave it under the carpet? What if I remove the carpet. And how did you clean up all that red wire from the A pillar to the BD lights?

I did a Lighted roof rack once on my 97 ZJ. Instead of tucking wires I used a boat trailer connection threw the center of the rear roof waterproofing it with silicone. Anytime I wanted to remove the rack, I could and just disconnect the trailer plug. Plug outlet had a sprung loaded waterproof cap no leaks and worked grate. All wires were snaked through the tube structure of the rack to the individual lights.

“There’s a relay to a relay” yep that’s pretty common for electronics. You did that exactly right. It’s because their relay will burn up, but they might not have enough power to drive a larger relay directly, so stepping it up in multiple steps is how you solve that problem

I really appreciate your build video's. Having spent many years in the low voltage install field the only thing that I would have done differently on your build is run a dedicated ground from your auxiliary battery to a separate grounding block at the back of the truck next to your fuse block. That would help eliminate the possibility of ground loops. Other than that, Good Job!

Still great information over 3 years later. Thanks, Nate.
This inspired/confirmed something that I am planning to do with wiring my lights. I have an 8 button controller. I am going to run all my off-road exterior lights off of relays and then switch them via the controller. Then I am going to wire one switch to trigger multiple relays. That way I can have a "light up the night" mode and kick on all my exterior lights with one switch. I am also considering adding a second controller in the rear. If I have the lights powered through relays then I can switch side and rear lights, or other lights, on from the drivers seat or the rear hatch. Lots of flexibility when running relays.

Same smart isolator. 60 amp breaker on the secondary batt (deep cycle), 50 on the primary (Optima Yellow-cap). 60/50 because I don't want to risk frying my ECU. Not running the heavy lodes you are. Save leds and a light bar, the electronic system is factory. Winch on a separate, manual system. Just charge drones/rc aircraft/pump up beach toys/little stuff, and I want it to start in the winter.

I'm hoping at the end of your next vid you could briefly cover the two relay situation where you have a couple circuits that are too high amperage for your control box. It's not clear to me how the continuous high amp relay overrides the built-in 20 amp relay. Thanks for all the effort you put in these vids!

This is my favorite type of content you do. I have a 2004 disco 2, so I really enjoy watching all you’ve done with your rover. Well worth it bud hell of a job.

I’m glad you mentioned the battery terminal post, I hateee those and was actually going to mention it until you said it at the very end. I do like the Fastronix “military spec” terminals.

The timing on your video is perfect since I’m in the process of installing an Auxbeam system and dual battery system in my LR4: thanks for the help!

I can't believe those vids don't get a ton of views. I'm building my rig step by step (just ja Jimny, but hey, it goes Offroad) and I love this kind of videos.
There is so much to learn and it's just a good inspiration what will also work out for my tiny car.

Clean work Nate! Wiring is never the easiest task, at least for me. This made it easy to understand!
