The reason why you see a lot of "foreigners" is actually because Malaysians consist of not only Malay people but Chinese and Indians as well who all identify as Malaysians. We have lived together in peace for a long time. But there are also a lot of expats and foreigners from other countries who work here, some come for holiday, others tend to make KL their base because of easy access to other countries.
The Grab driver mentioned the cost of living from a perspective of a local. But if you're a foreigner that comes from a country with a strong currency or are earning salary in dollars, then the cost of living in Malaysia is among the cheapest in the world. Just thought I should mention that to you.
Ramadan will be starting soon, so you'll get to experience Ramadan and Eid culture here in KL! May Allah protect you both and bless you with an amazing time in Malaysia

Bro, at 35:51 the Indian guy said something to your wife in Hindi which was "Mai thum sai Ma ko malatha hun, khana kalatha hun" - it means in English that "I will introduce you to my Mom and take you out to eat". That was very inappropriate of him to say to your wife and very disrespectful, that is why his friends laughed in the background. You must be very cautious of keeping your wife away from strange men. They were nice to your face, but disrespected you in their own language infront of your face as well. May Allah protect you and your wife from such people, Ameen!

Beijing is a superfast metropolitan. KL is a much more laid back place. This hot weather is actually hotter than normal. Stay hydrated.
Everything in a mall is normally double or triple the price than those on the streets. Spend wisely.
Most restaurants or f&b outlets in a mall are usually halal. But when on the street you have to be more careful okay.
Dont be afraid to ask anyone even the simplest thing okay. Malaysians are very helpful.

There are also chinese restaurant where they serve food with chopstick, but the chinese food in chinese restaurant in malaysia is generally not halal because most chinese in malaysia is not muslim. Welcome to Malaysia! I want to say that video is entertaining and hilarious. I like it. Before you fly back home, consider sharing your impressions of Malaysia in a video. It's a great way to capture your experiences, especially since you won't be able to compare or form opinions on Beijing and KL from day one. Here are some tips for your video:
Remember to bring your own refillable bottle due to the intense heatwave, as reported in the news. Opt for coloured clothing to stay cooler, as black attire can make you feel hotter and maybe avoid bringing that heavy backpack. Consider purchasing a MyCity Pass for unlimited rides on public transport for three days, which costs RM25 if you find it reasonable. Instead of bringing a whole coconut out may seem odd . you can ask vendors to cut one in half for you to enjoy the juicy meat. Yummy! Enjoy your time in Malaysia and have fun exploring!

If they felt some difficulty during conversation , they could just switch back to Mandarin instead. Third Malaysian stuff are cheap affordable to all the middle class travelers. So by conclusion Malaysia is considered the lowest difficulty level in the whole world among the mainland.

welcome to malaysia. in malaysia, for halal street food, just go any of to the malay local stalls including burgers, mixed rice, etc. guaranteed halal. for chinese food, you will need to ask/check. mostly non halal but some are (like those pulled noodle / lamian shops or here they are called 'Mi Tarik'). local franchises are mostly halal (eg: secret recipe, marrybrown). for indian food, guaranteed halal are the 'nasi kandar' or mamak restaurants, other indian placs are a hit-or-miss' so you will need to ask/check

And unfortunately that long waiting time is normal in KL and Malaysia in general. Well I wouldn’t call 20 minutes long cause I am so used to it 😂.
