Im currently making the 6/8 size for my youngest and I have to say that I prefer THIS technique of putting it together VS crocheting the three panels and then stitching them together!!! LOVELY WORK!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!
This is gorgeous. I am using a different weight yarn and hook but I wanted to see the techniques and how to do the hood. You're instructions are so clear that I think I can translate to different materials. Wish me luck
I just completed this cardigan with size 4 yarn and 6.5mm hook. The video is easy enough to follow and my sweater turned out great. I also put the hdc f&b posts around my cuffs and the bottom. 🦋
@NidhiPassi-q4j my tension isn't very loose so I used the larger hook to compensate. I've made over 20 of these sweaters, different colours, size 4 yarn and they all came out beautifully. I made one recently with a sz 8 hook. That sweater came out more baggy but sold right away!
I follow this pattern every time. I hope any of what I said will help. I've made different variations of this sweater, adding pockets and doing different edges. They all have come out beautiful. Always size 4 yarn and usually 6.5 hook. Sometimes the 8 hook comes out. If I could find a good sz 7 hook, I'd use that! 😂😂
I'm coming back to share with you that I used your guidelines from this cardigan to make one of my own with different thread. I've viewed this video like 20 times while I made it. Thank you for this!
Hey! I just found you! Love this! It’s beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Just some observations...if you could zoom in when you crochet and out when you’re explaining what your doing,it would help newer crocheters. Also, if you put crochet in your name more ppl could find you and thus subscribe. I try to subscribe to every crochet channel I come across, because I want to support everyone in our small but growing community. (The seaming method you’re using is called the whip stitch in the US. For us the mattress stitch is fine by going seaming on opposite sides...just so you know.) Cheers.
Thank you, I’m so pleased you are enjoying the pattern 😊 The yarn is an absolute dream to work with, the colours are so nice and loads to choose from! Would love to see your jacket when it’s finished
Hi, can you tell me how many stitches there are supposed to be from lapel to lapel for the hood on a med/large?? I've done my hood but it seems very large, so debating whether to pull it back and start again? Lovely cardigan though x
Please help me a little! I am between sizes S / M; I started for M, it seemed too big and I undo everything I worked on; I restarted for S and it seems too small. How many stitches do you advise me to start with?Thank you in advance .
Making the large size with 150 chains. The pattern at the sleeves divide says put markers 45 stitches in on each side leaving 50 for the centre piece but that only adds up to 140 instead of 150 stitches. Should it read put markers at 50 stitches in on each side and 59 for the centre piece.
Hi Sorry for not seeing your message. I think this hook size would be too large. Use a 5mm hook for a fitted size for a oversized jacket use a 5mm hook and go up one size in pattern. Many thanks Emma
Bonsoir.
Hi, it’s 57 rows for just the Medium. The written pattern is written in each size separately for adults, it should be easy to follow this video with written pattern in any size
@@alexiscampbell7720 Hi Alexis, to add some easy pockets I would do a chain of stitches your desired width and just do rows of Hdc until you have reached the height you like and stitch from the front all the way around and leave the top open. This is a very easy way. To have inset pockets I would work out which row I would like my opening and chain 15-20 stitches skip 15-20 stitches on both sides. Then continue with rows in hdc. This will leave an opening, I would then do a pocket like the simple one above and sew to the inside under your opening. I hope this helps Emma
Hi, the difference is we use the metric (mm) to reference hooks where the US it has letters for the hooks. They are the same size just written differently.
A Hdc decrease is making two stitches into one. Start your regular Hdc into first stitch, yarn over and pull through, then don’t finish off your stitch, put your hook into next stitch and complete your HDc. This will join two stitches together and decrease your number of stitches for that row

If you are using the larger sizes do you still place stitch markers 40 stitches from the edge or does that go up?
Is there no longer a free pattern available?

Is size 12/14 as quoted American or British size? Grateful for help from anyone x
Hi this would be English size. However, all sizes are stated in inches to give you an idea which size you would like to choose
Hi could I use double knit for this? Still with a 6.5 needle for a summer version? Thanks:)

@peanutandplumcrochetpatterns no worries:) I took the plunge and did it anyway and it turned out OK, bit floppy but wearable 🤣x
